It is now 2020, and we’re in our own epidemic. I read this a few years ago when I lived in the Middle East, and I would have never imagined that I would live through a pandemic. Pandemics seemed like an outdated thing that never happened anymore. Reading this book is eerie, as it’s so similar to the modern day. What this book gives is hope. The world got through a epidemic before (a much deadlier and actually scary one), and we will get through another one. The story itself is really good and it’s hard to put down! 4/5 stars.

I loved reading this book to my school students. They could relate so easily to school being shut down, not being able to go to social events, and wearing masks. I would highly recommend reading it to your children or students who have lived through Covid 19.

A friend of mine got permission to do a read aloud of this book for a closed group of members. It was enlightening as we live through a pandemic now to learn about the flu epidemic a century ago.
