Beth Jones sets herself apart as a writer who truly writes with the reader in mind. Her style is so captivating and sincere that she makes you feel you’re sitting together talking about life over a cup of coffee. Her latest book, Reinvent, is no exception. It’s rare that a book comes along that walks you through the process of making such drastic life change that can only be described as a reinvention. Each page is packed with incredible wisdom that will help you purposefully and systematically make changes that will bring positive results for years to come.

This book gets to you right from the beginning. I love how laid back the author is. I had never heard of her before requesting this book for review but I did a search on her and loved what I found.
Jones’ writing is a great reflection on her author picture. Spunky and straightforward with a flair for the telling it like it is. I loved this easy read that is laid out in a way you can work on the work, mini chapter by mini chapter.
And that is what she is calling us to do. Work on yourself. Reinvent what we want, dream for, and desire, with God’s promise behind our request and reinvention.
Jones uses awesome stories and parables to support her teachings and walks you through this map to redemption. I love it! Simple yet profound. Perfect for home life, work, and our spiritual well being.

Reinvent is a great how-to manual, inspirational guide, and personal development book. I have read several Beth Jones books over the years, yet a few things really stand out about this book. The style of writing is so conversational that it feels like you are chatting with a friend over dinner. There is a great balance among scriptural foundations, her personal story, others’ stories, and ideas on how to apply it to your own life. While super-success stories are inspirational, I will often dismiss them as “well, that could never happen to me.” But this book shares so many stories of common, ordinary, everyday people reinventing their lives that you will be hard pressed to keep making excuses about delaying your own reinvention.

Three words: wisdom, encouragement and really funny (ok that was 4 words) ! This book inspired, encouraged and offered a soft (needed) kick in the pants "No more whining, Cupcake! Don't quit now!" I highly, highly, highly recommend this book! Would give it a 10 star if I could!

So excited to get this book! I’ve enjoyed Pastor Beth‘s teachings, books, and online courses, especially Getting A Grip On The Basics.
When this book was introduced to me I knew this was what I needed to grow in my faith journey. I am looking forward to learning and putting into practice the 4 reasons and 4 questions to reinvent my life.
Chapter one already grabbed my attention. The gap. “There is a gap in our lives when our ideal self and our real self seem to be miles apart. The gap can exist in any area of our lives where we’re dissatisfied or feel we’re missing the mark. The gap is the difference between what we envisioned our life would look like by now and what it actually looks like.” Wow! Powerful!

Reinvent is a book that will speak directly into your life. Beth has a way of connecting with you on a personal level through her writing that takes you on a journey of discovery. Her words, stories and insights on the truths of the Bible are so practical. Reinvent will awaken something with in you!

Reading Reinvent is like embarking on a treasure hunt and Beth Jones is your guide! She graciously (and hilariously) shares from her personal experience as if she’s walking with you, cup of coffee in hand of course, every chapter bringing you closer to reinvention. I was encouraged, challenged and incredibly inspired to never give up on pursuing God’s plans and purposes. Can’t recommend this book enough! Thank you Beth for writing.

Reading a review copy currently, this is a wonderful book that will excite and inspire you! If you are thinking your life could do with a boost or a change of direction this is the book for you, excellent advice while including stories that will mean you can identify with the author and learn from her life experiences too! This truly is a life changing book!

I loved this book and did not want to stop reading. Based on Bible promises and scripture showing God's love for us and how he wants us to love life and be happy.
After reading this book I am motivated and excited to do some reinventing in my life.

This was an awesome and amazing, encouraging, motivating, life changing read. The book could not have hit the planet at a better time! Talk about the season for a re-invention. This is the season and the time is now. I'm so thankful for this book and am planning to get it for many family members too.
Beth is always a refreshing read but reinvent takes it to a whole new level. Enjoy!

Love this book so far! It's full of practical advice with step by step guidance to help you evaluate where you are in life and discover how to get where you want to be. This book fits any season of life for people of any age, male or female. Beth's lighthearted style and sense of humor combined with her down to earth reality makes this book an enjoying read. I was blessed to receive an advanced copy from the publisher so I’m reading prior to the release date!

Reinvent is divided in to two parts. The first part, Start Fresh, has four sections and focuses on four reasons to reinvent your life. The second part, Love Life!, invites readers to ask four questions to reinvent their life: What do you want? What do you have? What will you do? and Why will you do it? For each question, that author has 3 to 5 chapters to help guide the reader as they seek to answer the questions for themselves. Each chapter is full of valuable information and a lot of good questions to ask to get to the answers to make the changes that are needed.
Reinvent was one book that I was especially looking forward to this year. There are a lot of changes in my life and I am trying to figure out how to reinvent life going forward so Reinvent couldn't have come at a better time for me. For me, this is a book to read slowly to savor and grow from. Reinventing yourself is a scary thing, but I love how Beth Jones breaks it down with 4 reasons to reinvent: the gaps, the crossroads, the future, and the love. She makes it so much more manageable than it seems like it would be! I like the way she writes and it’s so easy to connect with her writing. I definitely feel like starting fresh and reinventing myself! Thank you Beth Jones!

April 18, 2020This book was fun and easy to read and SOOOOO effective in connecting the dots for me. The author used real life examples to take me on a journey of self reflection, understanding my thought patterns and how to get 'unstuck' in order to move forward. The scripture referenced really helped me to understand God's love for ME. I now feel like I can 'reinvent' my life using the gifts He has given me in order to enjoy a future that is more meaningful. Beth Jones - thank you for sharing in a transparent way that was very helpful!

Wow!!! I usually don’t write reviews but I can’t help myself! This book is so amazing! To say I gleaned nuggets of wisdom and truth would be an understatement. This book is filled with meaty truths, mountains of wisdom and a razor Sharp Witt from the author that keeps you laughing and turning the pages. As a mom that’s preparing to be an empty nester (sob), this book is exactly what the doctor ordered. I’m excited and ready to Reinvent in this season of my life. This book give so much hope, inspiration and direction no matter where you are in life. Beth Jones is so relatable that you’ll feel like your hanging out with your best friend, laughing, learning and reminiscing about the good old days. I cannot recommend this book more strongly! It’s a keeper and a re-reader! I walked away inspired I know you will too!

Cannot say enough about this book! It is chock full of insight, encouragement, and practical steps to love the life God has for us. Thank you Pastor Beth for writing this boots-on-the-ground handbook for total life reinvention with God!

This book is incredible! Beth offers so much practical wisdom about what it means to reinvent, why you might want to reinvent and then outlines the HOW. She asks practical questions, forces you to think deeper, and encourages you to live the life that God desires for you. The tone of the book is so conversational and FUNNY! Her stories and funny one-liners keep the book interesting and personal, and always wanting more. You will definitely have a laugh as you read. I've been a BIG fan of Beth for quite some time, and I've seen her live out what she is writing. This book is honestly for anyone who wants to reinvent. And seriously... the timing of this book could not be more perfect! We're all in isolation and being forced to reinvent so many aspects of our lives, and it seems like no one really wants to go back to "normal" as we knew it. This season of isolation is forcing us to reinvent... and this book offers practical tips on how to actually make that happen.

Reinvent is the perfect book for anyone, any age, who is looking to get a breath of fresh air and jump-start into a better version of themselves. Beth makes you feel at home within the pages of this book. You’ll laugh, feel the urge to cry, and heavily self-reflect through-out every chapter. Many have said Beth Jones makes you feel as though you were a friend sitting across from her having coffee & I could not agree more! She speaks life into the reader & shows such compassion. In Reinvent, Beth Jones begins the book by defining the word reinvent and this basically means to change something that make it look new. Beth is a preacher at Valley Family Church and has noticed that many people are struck in life and they are ready to reinvent their lives. In the book, she shared her personal story of her parents divorcing, enduring bullying in school, feeling rejected, overcoming cancer, and how she dealt with her dreams shattered. She also shared how she walked to church and found out who God is and how she suffered persecution from being the first believer in her family. She opened up about how God has reinvented her own life and changed it for the better.
In the first part of the book, she looked at four reasons to reinvent your life and this included, “the gaps, crossroads, future, and love.” One of my favorite area she looked at was when she discussed gaps and how we need to explore our spiritual fruit in our life. She looked at the parable of the fruitless tree and one of the verses that stands out was found in Luke 13:8. This talks about how Jesus tells a man to leave the fig tree alone for a full year and he is instructed to dig around it and fertilize it. She was encouraged by this parable and she challenged believers to focus on one or two areas that they want to reinvent in their life. She created a list to display and show how some famous people lives changed in one year. Some of these included: Tina Fey, Oprah, Stephen King, Harrison Ford, Martha Stewart, Samuel L. Jackson, Morgan Freeman, and much more.
In the second part of the book she looked at 4 questions, “what do you want, what do you have, what will you do, and why will you do it.” She explored the whole story about the Maven by going into detail and looking at the four questions. She is recently widowed with two sons and she is in a great debt. She is about forced to sell her sons as slaves to repay the debt owed. Elisha asked her what does she have and all she has is a jar of oil. She is told to go borrow a few empty vessels and come back and shut the door and pour the oil into them. Then she must go sell them to repay the debt and they will have enough to live on the rest. Beth goes back and retells the story in her own words and adds the key words from part one into her recap to explain it to readers.
I would recommend this awesome book to anyone who is ready to reinvent their life. I immensely liked how open Beth was about her story and I was able to easily to connect to it. I enjoyed reading about how she was able to reinvent her own life and how God has used her since. One of my favorite topics she discussed was the power of renewing your mind with the word of God. I liked how she included scriptures to encourage believers on how to do just that. These verses included topics such as favor, blessing, joy, strength, wisdom, and much more. One of my favorite verses was Isaiah 43:16 and this one discussed how God can make a way where there is no way. I also loved how she looked at the Maven story and I will admit reading her take on the story was a really powerful example. I was able to see how God is able to reinvent everyone’s story, if they will just let Him.

Jones has written an inspiring and encouraging book to help us reach our potential. We might feel stuck and need a push to get us going to the next part of life. We might have an idea for a new career, a new ministry, or a new product and just need exciting encouragement to get going. That's what this book is all about.
Jones teaches using the foundation of Elisha and the woman in debt, found in 2 Kings 4. Lessons are drawn from the Bible story. The most surprising for me was borrowing. The woman borrowed jars from others to increase her store of the God given oil. So we can borrow from others, seeking their help, making use of their insights. Jones draws a number of other encouraging lessons from the widow's experience.
Jones also uses experiences from her own life as well as the lives of others to illustrate her teaching concepts. She asks major questions to help us hear from God and understand what He wants us to do for the next part of our life.
Readers will get plenty of inspiration and encouragement in reading this book. You are never too old, or for that matter too young to reinvent your life to see everything be TRANSFORMED! It is as easy as saying “YES” to those dreams on the inside of your heart and respond to that quiet whisper from God to your inner man that says be strong and courageous! Beth takes you on a journey, through her own personal life and that of others to inspire your to ask a few questions. What do you want, and what do you have? What are those dreams within your heart and what do you have within your means NOW to make it happen? Beth will stir that dream pot within your heart and empower you to think BIG in her book Reinvent. As a mom of three who went back to school to earn her Doctorate in physical therapy at 36, I understand the power of reinvention! But, it’s not over yet for me at 51, I feel 29! It’s not over yet for you either! Let your life glean and be inspired from the pages of this book as you walk down the road less traveled to do more than you ever thought you could! The BEST is yet to come!
