What do you do when your plan foryour life isn't the same as God's plan for your life?
"For I know the plans I have foryou," says the Lord. "They are plans for good and not for disaster,to give you a future and a hope." Jeremiah 29:11 (NLT)
Whenever we go through isnever solely for us. It's almost always for someone we haven't met yet. Why?Because God knew you before you even knew you and he knew that you were goingto experience something(s) that were going to shake you to your core. He knewyou would need another person who could empathize and/or sympathize with you. See, He loves you so much, he carried aperfect stranger through something she didn't even realize she had signed upfor just so she could write a book she didn't want to write so you could readit and be encouraged. So, I said "yes" because He asked but I also said "yes"for you.
Hey Someone. Nice to meet you.
On March 23, 2018, mylife changed forever. What should've been a routine, albeit serious, medicalemergency turned into a fight for my life. In an instance, everything I knew, everything I believed about God was upended and I found myself lost, confused, and outright angry. The direction He decided to take my life was not adirection I was interested in but it would open doors for me that I neverthought possible. That's what happens when we choose to trust God and HisMaster Plan. It might not come the way we expect, but we get everything we everasked for.
I loved the the format of this book! Dr. Sims Holliman begins each chapter with a part of her autobiography followed by "Sister Stories" (present day version of a biblical story) and wraps up each chapter with "Think on These Things." This makes for a perfect combination for a church book group reading selection.
I really wanted to give Shoes Without Feet 4 + stars. However, I was hoping for more in the autobiography section. I wish the author had dug a little deeper and spent more time sharing her story and personal journey. Dr. Chantrise does hint at another book in the future, I look forward to reading her next book.
Be sure to read this book to the final page. If you don't, you'll miss out on some incredible playlists and a brief update on Chantrise beyond the final chapter.
Such an awesome story if triumph. So many lessons to learn and so many things to be thankful for. Beautifully written piece that exposes so much of what we all have within ourselves. I loved it!
