Ok story; REAL crap author, to the point of annoyance - though never so bad as J.G. Ballard. All the magic of fiction is stripped away by the author's inability to convert what in all probability are real-life situations and people to something that is even remotely readable. Moreover, the really lousily done interior-monologues make both character and author (and it may easily be imagined that the former is based on the latter) sound disgustingly pretentious. The best lines of the whole book are, in fact, quoted from Persian and Urdu authors.
