More stories from the outer edges of erotica…

There is probably nothing in this world that isn’t a source of arousal for someone, somewhere.

This collection features stories exploring the sexy potential of bubble wrap, architecture, fevers, frights and government-mandated tickling sessions, among other delights.

These ten stories will excite you, unsettle you, and almost certainly surprise you. You may even be inspired to experiment a little more in your own bedroom - or kitchen, or bathroom, or carpark. Who knows where an active imagination might lead?

This is a very intriguing collection of erotic stories. I appreciated the forward, which talks about how the intent of the collection is to move beyond the cookie-cutter version of erotica (skinny girl + alphahole dude) that seems to be everywhere. The collection itself only somewhat achieves that goal. As a whole, the assembled stories did not cover as wide a spectrum of sexuality as I was expecting. The vast majority of stories were cis and het, though there was a bright spot with the story What Lies Beside, which included a well-done portrayal of a trans character, especially because that wasn't the focus of the story. (It's an excellent example of vore, if that's your thing)

The writing quality was variable, and most of my notes were about the vast amount of unneeded backstory that resulted in far more pace bogging-down telling than I expected in a collection of erotic short stories.

I also entire noped out of some of the stories when they veered too close to the breasted-boobily model. I really don't need to hear about a woman not knowing she's pretty, or whatever inanimate fetish she has...that it's because of how *masculine* that inanimate thing is. (cue giant eye roll) There ended up being entirely too much of this, as the collection itself is only ten stories.

In the end, What Lies Beside and Pop Tart were the only two stories that I felt glad about having read, as they are well written, sexy, and far enough off the beaten path for me to want to tell other people about them.

The idea of this collection is excellent, but sadly the stories chosen did not always live up to that promise.
