How would you feel when the man you have known and loved for the last five years is not who he said he was? That everything he ever told you was all a lie. An accident changed our lives forever and now I have to bring him back to us because he doesn’t remember our life, our family or us. One minute, I was just a regular girl from India married to a man she loved, and the next, my life has changed completely because I’m married to an English Duke, who doesn’t remember me. My name is Aaliya Singh Talbot and I will do whatever it takes to bring my husband back from the darkness and into the light. I will make him remember no matter what I have to do! I will make him remember everything - beneath all the lies!
This is a well-written story about too many things. Amnesia, secretly wealthy, betrayal, and so many lies. I was frustrated with all the lies. Just one or two truths and there would have been no story to tell. But, it is very well written, the characters are interesting with flaws and strengths. There is lots of emotion in this book. Just the plot was not interesting to me.
Author Spana Bhog creates an intriguing, suspense with characters whom you root for! Loved the concept, the setting and the mind-blowing chemistry between the protagonists. Going on straight to the next one in the series!
It's a story of Aaliya and Damien. Aaliya who almost lost Damien as he forgot the precious years of his life with her fought hard to get him back. What plans destiny have for them? . A gripping tale with an interesting plot filled with twists that will make the reader curious. I so wish if it was a paperback book, I would have finished it in one sitting.
It's a tale blended with romance and tragedy that will make you think. With a simple and gripping writing style and a crisp and engaging narration, it's an interesting book with many secrets.
The Well developed characters create a great impact on the readers. Overall a book with an intriguing storyline and crisp narration, this book will make you fall in love, once again.
Looking for some amazing romance reads? Go for it. Go for any books by her and you won't regret it. P.S waiting for the second part.
Beneath the lies by Sapna Bhog is the first book from the series Forgotten book. The story revolves around Aaliya and Damien . This couple has loved each other before they got married.
This book is full of twist and turns. Damien leaves for London and there an accident took place. Due to this major accident Damien lost his memory partially. It's affected Aaliya because this time Damien's real identity as an English Duke also comes to light. The story ends with a cliffhanger.
Sapna Bhog has finely woven the plot and Creating twists has made the story more engaging . Author has nicely blended Romance with thriller. Character development of is also admirable. A reader can easily resonate with the characters.
Aaliya has been married to Damien to five years and they have a young son Rian. Damien left their home in India after his father and brother died in a car accident to attend their funerals in London ... and never returned. Damien's best friend Gabe calls Aaliya and tells her than Damien too has been in a car accident which has caused amnesia, he no longer remembers his life in India, Aaliya or their son.
Aaliya travels to London to see Damien, but Gabe prevents her from seeing Damien. Unbeknown to her, Damien left a voicemail message on Gabe's phone alleging that someone had murdered his father and brother and they could be after him next, his last words were to protect his wife and son.
When Aaliya does meet Damien he doesn't recognise her, indeed she can barely see her kind and loving husband in the cold man she meets. Also, Aaliya discovers that Damien is actually a member of the aristocracy and has now become the Duke of Kittridge, the wealthiest man in England. Damien is fascinated by Aaliya, her sassy attitude, and her lack of ceremony, he wants to possess her yadda yadda.
This was okay but I felt the writer figuratively threw the kitchen sink at this. There's the interracial marriage, the amnesia, the assassination attempts, the FSoG seduction scenes, the obligatory society ball, the bitchy ex-girlfriend, the cold dowager duchess, the secret baby, the billionaire romance, the estranged friends, the blood diamonds argument, I could go on.
All I will say is that the person trying to murder Damien doesn't appear to be who I thought it was - so that's a relief.
Also, this is not a standalone novel, there are unanswered questions.
just finished the book and book was good thw write style is nice and storyline is gripping. the main characters are also well written and I loved thr supporting characters too. book was fast paced and mysterious I have so many suspects but guess what second and third book is already out so I will complete the series. Overall loved the book everything was nice.
An incredible first book in a series that promises to be an absolute blockbuster. I'm glad that I have only now started reading these books as the series is complete. Going straight into book nº. 2.
Sapna Bhog cannot do wrong with modern billionaire romances. I am not a huge fan of intercontinental romance, and thus, I was quite hesitant to start with the forgotten trilogy, but like all her other books, it took me only two chapters to fall in love with the story, the characters and every other thing😍😍😍😍😍 I’m currently halfway done with the second book, and it is just getting better and better with every chapter .
OH. MY. GOD. This book wrecked me in the best way possible. Atp I am obsessed with Sapna Bhog’s writing! She crafted this story so beautifully that once I started, there was no way I could put it down. The pacing? Perfection. The plot twists? Had me gasping out loud! Every single page had me on edge, completely hooked!
This book follows Aaliya and Damien, a married couple of five years with the cutest 10-month-old baby boy, Rian. Life was going great until one night, Aaliya gets the call that shatters her entire world. Damien’s best friend, Gabriel, tells her that Damien was in a terrible accident and has lost the last five years of his memories. But that’s not even the craziest part, Aaliya finds out that Damien isn’t just her loving husband… he’s actually the Duke of Kittridge and one of the richest men in England!
With that single phone call, Aaliya’s life implodes. But does she break down? NOPE. Because she’s a queen! She picks herself up, packs her bags, and heads straight to England to remind her husband exactly who she is , and who they are together. But there’s a catch. A big one. Aaliya can’t just tell Damien the truth about their past or their son. There’s a threat on Damien’s life, and revealing everything could put Rian in grave danger. So what does she do? She makes the boldest, most swoon-worthy decision ever. She’s going to make her husband fall in love with her all over again before telling him the truth.
And let me tell you, the way this story unfolds? BREATHTAKING. The chemistry between Aaliya and Damien is off the charts! The way he’s drawn to her despite his lost memories? The tension? The yearning? The SPICE, I had to put my Kindle down multiple times just to catch my breath!
And just when I thought my heart couldn’t take any more BOOM. THAT ENDING. THAT. FREAKING. CLIFFHANGER.
I was not prepared. At all. One second, I was swooning over Damien and Aaliya’s growing connection, the next, I was screaming at my Kindle like a crazy person. I swear, I sat there, just staring at the last page, trying to process what had just happened. I immediately went looking for the next book because I NEED to know what happens next!
To anyone thinking about picking up this book PLEASE DO IT. But be warned once you start, you will not stop. You will fall in love. You will blush. You will gasp, scream, and clutch your heart. And when that cliffhanger hits? You will be just as desperate as I am for the next book.
Now if you’ll excuse me, I have some serious reading to do.

The book follows Aaliya and Damien, a happily married couple living their best life. However, Aaliya's world is turned upside down when she learns that Damien has been in an @ccident and lost his memory! Determined to make him fall in love with her all over again and help him regain his memories, Aaliya reenters his life. But as she does, she uncovers surprising secrets about her husband that she never knew!
How will Aaliya handle all this new information? And can she accept this new version of Damien? You’ll have to read the book to find out—I’m not spilling the details!
I ABSOLUTELY LOVED THIS BOOK. Saying I loved it would be an understatement—I am OBSESSED! Everything about this book was perfect: their sizzling chemistry, their playful banter, the gripping plot, the intriguing characters (well, except for a few), and the layer of mystery that kept me wanting more and more.
Aaliya has officially become one of my favorite FMCs. She’s bold, sassy, and incredibly intelligent—a total baddie. Honestly, I think I liked her even more than Damien! The book had me hooked from start to finish, and I didn’t even realize when I had turned the last page. Now, I can’t wait to dive into the other two books in the series and uncover all the secrets and suspense. I already have my suspicions about the culpr¡t, and I’m excited to see if I’m right!
I think I’ve found my new go-to author, and I’m ready to devour all her books! If you love stories with the amnesia trope, irresistible chemistry, a badass FMC, and a touch of mystery and suspense, then this book is for you. Dive in—you won’t regret it!
My Take: A gripping love story. A story that blends romance and tragedy well. Aaliya Singh and Damien fall in love get married and have a son. In a cruel twist of fate Damiel lands up in his home country England and is expected to take his role of a Lord something which he had escaped and ran away from. Now with the present catching up with him and he erasing his memory of the last 5 years Aaliya is up for a challenge to get him back in her life. How will she be able to get him back from the riches and make him reminisce the olden days? Will Damien ever remember? What happens when Aaliya comes face to face with him? Will he remember her? Will she have the happily ever after? Read the book to find out. The story is woven well. The lead characters are well written. There is depth in the writing and the emotions are written. The language is engaging. Loved the way the triology is shaping up. Waiting for the second one eagerly. This is not a story its a saga. Rating: 5/5
Aaliya's world falls apart after an accident of her husband Damein. The man she loved for five years is not who he claims to be, and now he has lost all memories of their life together.
She was an Indian girll happily married to an English man Damein, but her life takes a major turn. She is now the wife of an English Duke who doesn't even remember her. She is decided to bring him back from the darkness remind him of their love, their story, and the truth. No matter what happens, she will fight to save the bond they once shared.
But how? You will have to read the book to know the full story.
This book moves at a fast pace and has twists and turns that will keep the reader hooked. It is a fascinating book full of unexpected twists, and the ending 😭😭
If you like spicy romance ❤️🔥🔥then you will love this book. I have also started reading the second book of this series, so imagine how much I would have liked this book?
Sapna Bhog’s latest book Beneath the lies is the story of Aaliya and Damien set in the UK and Mumbai. This is a love story with suspense and mystery added to it. The story moves back and forth between Aaliya and Damien’s point of view and has been written in first person from the point of view of both Aaliya and Damien, and the name of the chapter is the name of the person whose point of view is being put forward. The story is fast paced and the language is simple. The characters have been developed in detail and the back stories keep coming up. The relationship between Aaliya and her family and also that between her and Gabriel and Jonathan has been portrayed well. Even the friendship between Damien and Gabriel has been portrayed well. The story is unputdownable as I really wanted to know what happens next, and now I have to wait for the next book of the series.
First of all I received this book free. It's my fault for reading it without researching whether it was a stand alone or cliffie, and this wasn't a life threatening cliffie, just a heartbreaking one, along with a bit of anger directed toward all the characters. It is the first in a trilogy, needs the next book, and the third as well for a conclusion. You can decide if it's for you, this is an FYI only and I did not base my rating on this. The storyline is rather an old trope, keeping secrets for someone's own good. We all know that never pans out, along with the evil other woman who'll stop at nothing to get what she wants, which is either Damien, or rather the title of Duchess, I think. This title definitely fits the journey. Amnesia is a reality, and not to be taken lightly in any case. I liked that well enough. Mixed marriages, I do think, are needed to blend the world, to cut down on racism, and I loved this read was great on that aspect, showing the small-mindedness of some upper echelons of society. Now, Aaliya, I loved that strong, opinionated, sassy, sexy, great, and talented businesswoman. She owned her character. Though she took some bad advice, she was still awesome. Damien, I rather wondered how he could do such a one-eighty like he did, amnesia or not, considering he'd been the outcast, and never really part of the nobility scene, despised it, actually, along with his family, so why the huge change? Why did he not want to try harder to gain his memory. He was being hunted, I wonder how he could rather ignore this huge threat to his life, to carry on business as unusual, for him. I just feel there was a drop to the importance of his life being threatened, and why the importance to him, of being a Duke. And ONE bodyguard? He should've had a whole regiment, IMO. So I read to the end of the book, but I will say, there was a lot of trivial parts I skipped over, redundant parts, a bit of mindspeak, cliched decisions and I kept thinking come on, come on, we know all this, let's getting moving, BUT, I did finish it because it was intriguing, even knowing how it would end, and I wanted to "see" that. Unfortunately, I am not getting to "see" that, and I can't imagine reading two more full books to get to it. I just prefer faster-paced journeys.
Beneath the Lies by Sapna Bhog is Aaliya and Damien’s story. Happily married for five years, Aaliya’s life changes forever when she comes to know of her husband’s accident in England and with it the secrets he has hidden from her!
This was my first book by Sapna Bhog. I got attracted towards it because of the blurb that promised a gripping suspenseful romance, and I am so happy to tell you that this book delivers on the promise and then some. An amnesiac Duke, hidden secrets worth killing for, a dangerous unknown villain, inter-cultural romance, a strong woman’s fight to bring her love home, and a man’s confusion trying to connect his version of the past to that of someone else’s, I adored every second spent reading this page-turner set in India and England.
I sat glued to this very engaging romantic suspense that had me guessing throughout and then left me wanting more of Aaliya and Damien. 4.5 out of 5 stars to this first installment in “Forgotten Trilogy“. Njkinny recommends this gripping story to all romantic suspense and romance lovers above the age of eighteen. Go read it now and I am going to hop over to read the next book, “Beyond the Truth”, that continues the love story of Aaliya and Damien and brings the readers closer to the identity of the unknown villain!
I mean OMG this book left me in utter disbelief. What am I reading? This book really caught me off guard. I was waiting for the happy ending even though I reached 90% of the book and then bam THE SEQUEL!!! For some reason from the starting I was thinking that this trilogy will have different stories... you know there are three friends and I was hoping that each book represents each friend's story... My bad! I know that. But this book never disappointed me I actually underestimated this book but the story was off boards. The character development and the pace all felt so right. And the twists keeps you away from shutting the book. The emotional balance I mean the way every characters emotions was displayed without giving the feel of overfelt or overwhelming is great. And Aliya became my favorite character I know she is FMC but she gave such a strong energy I just loved her. And it felt cute characters mentioning about serials getting aired on different TV channels about mahabharata and ramayana in with different casts and our people getting glued to the screen everytime even though we know the story and blah blah... (I should stop before I spill the beans ...) And friends of MMC are really great like broooo who tolerates such a person I would've punched on his face... ok I don't want to spill any spoilers so... yeah! This book has so many secrets yet to be revealed... I'm praying for Aliya in the next book and I don't tolerate any injustice coming her way (pls let her have a happy ending author 🙏)
Beneath The Lies by Sapna Bhog is an emotional and captivating story that delves into themes of love, loss, and resilience. The book masterfully portrays the struggles of both the male and female leads, drawing readers in with its heartfelt narrative.
The story follows Damien, a Duke in England, who, after a tragic accident, suffers from retrograde amnesia, erasing the last five years of his life. This memory loss leaves him grappling with his identity and places immense emotional strain on his wife, Aaliya a strong, determined woman and their child. Aaliya's unwavering love and resilience shine through as she faces these challenges, making her a truly memorable character.
The narrative is both gripping and engaging, with well-developed characters that create a significant impact on readers. The plot is filled with twists that keep you curious, making it difficult to put the book down. As the first book in the "Forgotten Trilogy," *Beneath The Lies* leaves you eager to continue the series.
Do I recommend this book? Absolutely. Was I completely drawn in? Yes. Do I plan to read the entire series? Without a doubt.
I’d give this book a solid 4 out of 5 stars a deeply moving read that stays with you long after you turn the final page
This was my first amnesia romance, and no, IT WILL NOT BE THE LAST.
I had so many doubts, honestly, when I first decided to try this trope. How is it gonna be, am I gonna like it, what if- my mind was clouded with all kinds of thoughts and questions. BUT DAMN THIS WAS AWESOME!
The way Aaliya is determined not to give up, trying to stay strong as she tries to get Damian to remember her (their story is raw and painful, but I'm so here for it, being the angst lover I am). The way she just wants to tell Damian everything he's forgotten, and how Gabe pulls her back every single time, telling her it isn't time yet and that Damian should regain his memory on his own (I may or may not have hurled a few ✨ pretty ✨ words at Gabe in those occasions🥰)- their story is beautiful.
The way Sapna has described Aaliya's yearning, and Damian's mental distress and confusion- 🤌MWAH! I'm in love. I can't wait to get my hands on the next book in the trilogy and see what happens next (the way this book ended I swear to gods- that left me speechless), and to check out her other books too! In love with the writing style, honestly. So very easy to read, so very full of emotions, and just ...perfect. I love it.

This book was definitely 4 stars.. There's a lot of emotions in this book. The story keeps hooked from the beginning itself.. a gripping tale and plot is filled with lots of twists that will keep you at the edge of your seat. And i finished it in one sitting... And compensation with romance and tragedy that makes you relate with struggles of a relationship.. and dear Damien forgetting his beloved wife.. Aaliya.. the memories he shared with her.. when the man she loved for the past five years is not who he said he was..? That everything he ever told her was all a lie. She got married to the English Duke, who doesn't remember her.. and she fighting for him .. whatever it takes to bring her husband back from the darkness and into the light. The writing style of the author was simple and crisp.. the concept execution was really good...the chemistry and tension between the FMC and MMC was impeccable .. a book that explores beneath the lies..and into the truth..and forcing out the secrets that lays behind.. The character development was chef's kiss.. the book will definitely make you intrigued.. I'm hella waiting for the second book..✨
I read this book as part of a collection and didn't know anything about it when I started reading. I quickly figured out that there was way too much going on. Aaliyah is Damien's wife and they have a young son. They've been together five years in India and she thinks he has no family. After he goes on a trip he has an accident then suffers from amnesia. Rather than going to see him and tell him the truth, she and his best friend decide to hide it from him. She wants to make him fall in love with her again before she tells him. This gets complicated with someone trying to kill him, a new position of Duke, his hostile ex and mother and so many other things. It's all just too much and many things don't make sense. Why would he tolerate his ex being so rude? Why doesn't she just tell him the truth? So many frustrating elements and to top it off it ends on a cliffhanger. Then the blurb for the next book just shows it would frustrate me even more. Many things just don't make sense. On top of that, he was lieing to her for FIVE YEARS yet she's the liar. ugh 2.5 stars
"You are my journey and you are my destination. All my roads will always lead up to you."
From the beginning itself, this book reeled me in with the whole amnesia plot. Aaliya & Damien definitely had chemistry and I liked how she didn't give up and went after him despite knowing that he won't remember. Her character was very strong and I liked the way she stood up for herself. And while Damien was confused initially, it didn't take him long to figure out that Aaliya is the right one for him. The plot was also fast paced and kept me engaged. The only thing I didn't like was the OW drama, it could've been toned down a bit tbh and I got so frustrated when Gabe stopped Aaliya from telling the truth to Damien because all their problems would've been solved if they just let him know. Also, the whole mystery about why is Damien in danger is also very intriguing and I can't wait to find out what happens next. I'm definitely going to continue this story by getting my hands on the next book! So overall, my rating for this is 3.5 stars.
A gripping love story.
I swear this book just made my day & most definitely left me shattered and hanging as well with that 'i did not see this coming' cliffhanger!? What was that ending!?! I wanna cry yet scream in anger by what i just read yet it was one gorgeous experience to read this one!! 😭
This book kept hooked from the start and as the storyline developed further I was literally on the edge of my seat. The storyline is so well-structured and the characters are so well presented and the spice was SPICIN as well!🤌🏻
Their love story is so unique & interesting and I loved reading every second of it! I loved the way I got to learned about them both as a separate person and as a team & couple as well!! 😍
I can't wait to devour the next book in this series and all I can say is that, Sapna you have done it again and rendered me so fascinated by your writing once again!! 🙇🏻♀️
Thank you so much Elentiya PR for providing me the opportunity to read this beautiful book!! I'm so grateful! 💚
Beneath the Lies is the first book in the series and a great start. I'm quickly becoming a fan of Sapna Bhog's writing; she never disappoints. The story follows Damien and Aaliya. Damien, a Duke, lost his memory in a tragic car accident, forgetting the last five years of his life. This leaves his wife, Aaliya, with the emotional burden of helping him regain his memory. She goes to Kittridge to try and make him remember her and their son. However, when she enters the hospital, she sees her husband kissing another woman, which leaves her heartbroken. Will she be able to make him remember her and their son, or will she lose him forever?
The narrative is engaging, filled with emotional moments and surprising twists that had me hooked. The characters are well-developed, and the writing makes it easy to connect with their struggles. This is a murder mystery romance.
Do i recommend this book ? Yes Try this one and you will not disappoint.
Beneath the Lies by Sapna Bhog is a thrilling and emotional read! The story follows Aaliya Singh Talbot, whose life is completely flipped when her husband, who she thought she knew and loved, loses his memory after an accident. On top of that, she discovers he's not even who he said he was! Now, Aaliya is on a mission to make him remember their life together, no matter what it takes.
The book does a great job of mixing romance, mystery, and suspense. You can’t help but feel for Aaliya as she fights to bring her husband back from the darkness. The emotional ups and downs keep you hooked from start to finish. The twist that her husband is an English Duke adds a fun, unexpected layer to the story.
While the plot has some familiar romance tropes, Sapna Bhog keeps it exciting with unexpected twists and strong character development. If you love a good romance with mystery and a dash of drama, Beneath the Lies is definitely worth the read.
I'm a big fan of Royal Romances, so I dived into 'Beneath the Lies' with high expectations. And let me tell you, it didn't disappoint! Damien and Aaliya are amazing protagonists - their chemistry is seriously hot, and they're both strong and feisty.
I appreciated how the author, Sapna Bhog, balanced both characters' struggles. Damien's life is complicated, but Aaliya's got her own challenges as an Indian woman living apart from her English husband while raising a child and trying to get her husband back.
The character development is impressive, with each interaction carefully crafted to make every character count. The story flows smoothly. It's a bit predictable, but that's okay - It's a royal romance!
Some scenes are a bit dramatic, but that's part of the fun.Just remember, this is the first installment of a trilogy, so be prepared for a cliffhanger.
Aaliya Singh is married to Damien for 5 years and have a beautiful son together. Everything was going great till Damien goes for some work, meets with an accident and looses his memory for last 5years. So he has no recollection of his wife or son. And Aaliya discoveres everything was not what she knew and the story picks up from there.
I love the female character - strong, independent, emotional and lovable. Damien, pre and post the accident, are two different characters altogether yet so similar. I like Gabe and Jonathan but want to give Celia a tight slap 😡. The characters are intriguing and the suspense makes you keep turning the pages. The chemistry is great and I cant wait to read the next book in this trilogy!
This is the first book in the trilogy and a great start to the series. First time reading a book from this author, and they did not disappoint. The story revolves around a modern-day Duke, an aristocrat, who has lost his memory due to a car accident and how he copes with issues that arise. It's a murder mystery / thriller involving friends, acquaintances, staff members and of course family. Time is of the essence to try and solve the issue at hand before beloved members are also killed. The Duke needs to regain his memory as quickly as possible. The story continues in book two and three so best to read these books in order.
