This was an entertaining book about two young boys working their summer away and their great uncles home. Their mom who is essentially forcing them to be there is someone who is not in the book often but is mentioned a lot. The characters are well developed, and the story line is interesting.

This book is not much of a mystery but it would be for kids in the age range it is meant for. The characters find a hidden door that leads them to many questions, and suspenseful scenes that leave you wanting to know who is to blame and what will happen. Overall it was an entertaining read, and I wouldn't say I regretted reading it.

In the book "Burning Secrets" there was 2 brothers and a mother going to fix up a house of there dead uncle. But as they are cleaning up the home to sell it there is a lot of Scary thing happening in the house. And there is this old man that pops out of nowhere when the boys are alone and he is the one trying to steal something. Then the boys break into the little door that the robber has been trying to get into, they find nothing but a waterlogged piece of wood, and that wood gives the old man infinite life as he takes it from them and than as the family leaves the home the house was burnt down along with the piece of wood.
Yes, i have felt like there is someone in the backyard of my house just sitting out there but i have never felt the same with someone breaking into my house. But as the boys are courice into getting into the little door under the stairs with all the cleaning supplies, I am very courice when it come to hidden doors that someone has been trying to get into but cant open it.
I think that the book was very good the author really expressed how the boys and how the mom was feeling threw the whole story. My favorite part of the book is when the boys finally got into the closet and they found a small water fountain and that was all that was in there and there was a piece of wood in the fountain, and the wood turns out ot be the way the old guy that randomly appears that ids the way that he keeps living.
Yes, i would read another book like this the author is very good on how he puts the emotions together. But at the same time i don't like it because it was very short and it has very simplistic words.
Some people that might like this book are the people that like twists on a book and the people that like a book that has a creepy overlook on it. Some other people that might like this is just someone that is lazy and like short simplistic books.

Burning Secrets is a great story for struggling readers. The prologue begins in a small Native American village many years ago. Chapter 1 begins a modern day story about two brothers who uncover a secret about a little boy who lived in that village.
