The Beacon Street Girls books are inspired by all the preteen girls I've ever known. I wanted to create a world where girls can go to have fun and learn about who they are, while modeling real-life experiences. The first book, Worst Enemies/Best Friends, explores creating and testing friendships, skewed first impressions, and being the new kid at school. In the end, true friendship conquers all. Welcome to the world of the BSG!

The Valentine's Day dance is coming up, and the Beacon Street Girls all look forward to going.

Maeve especially wants everything to be perfect and romantic, and dreams of snagging the popular Dillon as her date. Avery, on the other hand, couldn't care less who she goes with - she only wants to hang out with the girls and have a good time. Charlotte knows that Nick Montoya will ask her, but he seems to be taking an awfully long time getting around to it, and now she's starting to worry...

Tension rises when all of Maeve's efforts to get Dillon's attention fail...and he seems to have eyes for Avery instead. Avery can't figure out what all the fuss is about, since she and Dillon are just good friends, after all. And as Charlotte decides to take the reins herself and just ask Nick to the dance, she gets even more discouraged when she sees how much time he's spending with classmate Chelsea instead.

Isabel finds out that she may have to miss the dance altogether, due to a prior commitment to a friend, and, for all of Maeve's attempts to turn Dillon's head, she may be missing out on a potential romance that's just waiting for her to notice it.

As usual with this series, the most complicated situations turn out not to have the most picture-perfect solutions, but wind up being just as satisfying, proving that, although one might not always get what one wants, they can still be happy and satisfied with an unexpected outcome.

Book Review

In Crush Alert by Annie Bryant, Maeve is in the Beacon Street Girls and she has a major crush on Dillon. He’s a sport superstar everybody knows him. The thing is Dillon likes Maeve but he doesn’t love Maeve. Charlotte also in the Beacon Street Girls Nick and her have a thing. Nick is just to shy to ask Charlotte to the Valentine’s Day Dance. Who will the Beacon Street Girls share the last dance with?
In Crush Alert by Annie Bryant, the book was descriptive when the kiss happened the author took two whole pages for it. The book was unoriginal every dance ends with a kiss that they say was sensational. Isabel and Charlotte are such nice girls why do they have to get bullied. Maeve and Avery are competitive people Katani is just the fashionista of the group. Isabel is the artist, Maeve is the actress, Avery is the sporty one, Charlotte is the smart one in the group. The book also had complex vocabulary it is good for me because it will help me improve my vocabulary. I loved the book it was very detailed in the beginning. The book was also a little too short at the end of the book I thought it could have been a couple more pages. Then the book would be better that way in my opinion, for now it is a great book to read.
If you like the Dork Diaries then I am sure you will like something juicy and dorky then you will like the Beacon Street Girls.

this book was about a group of girls who are in a love triangle. The girls are trying to figure out who is going to the dance with who. My opinion on the book is that it is one of the best books to relate to as a girl with girl problems. What i mostly like about this book is that the situation in this book is a situation that i went through. In the book charllote feels that her crush does not like her but he does and everyone knows it. I feel that every girl who is in to boys and bffs should read this book. Additional thoughts that i have is is the author is a great author because it makes the reader react to a book and i love that in a book. other additional thought that i have about this book is that sometimes girls do not have any guidence to certain girl situations that the go through. Some girls will tell there mother but then most wont because they think there mother will be upset that they even have a problem but i feel that this book in a way welcomes you to get guidance and learn that most girls there age go through it and these are the reasons i really love this book. Every time i opened up my book to a new chapter it was like the next step to learning about girl problems.

My number 2 favourite book of the BSG series! I love the tension between the girls. They really are just like 12 year olds. Nothing to romantic but perfect for the age group. It is the same emotions I feel (I'm the same age). I love Avery's character. She's just out there to have fun and doesn't notice that her best friend is falling for her.

Does your crush like you? Or does he not? The BSG and their whole school are getting ready for the Valentine's day dance. But things are getting complicated, relationships wrenched, and feelings messed with. Maeve likes Dillon, but does he actually like her back? What does Avery have to do with anything? Charlotte and Nick like each other, with skinny love, but why does Chelsea keep butting in? What's her problem? She did admit that she liked Nick right out, so what is she trying to do? What will Avery and Katani do for dates? Is Isabel even going? We'll see in the book. I liked it. I would have changed some reactions to be more personalized, but it's all in the author's choice. I liked this book and I rate it 4/5 stars. **** . -Signing off, Emma XoXo...

I read this YEARS ago. But I remember loving it so much. I wish I had known back then that it was part of series so I would have started from the beginning. I tried to go back but since I already knew what happened in the future, I just kept skipping. One if the biggest reasons I stopped reading this series was because I found out they were in 7th grade. They just acted more like high schoolers and it felt completely unrealistic to me. I don't really mind anymore though so maybe I'll try them again one day. Charlotte and Nick for life <3

Pfft. Buncha girls running around with their silly romances (although charlotte and nick are sorta cute but the relationship is not at all realistic for 7TH GRADE...) anyway in reality, MS dances get canceled because not enough people come (in middle school anyway) & the whole thing is predictable.

I liked this book because I could relate to it. This book was set mostly on the week of Valentine's Day which talks a lot about love. Also, the characters are 7th graders so it's a plus. My favorite quote from this book is "Love is beautiful when you love them, and if they're loved they may not be beautiful(inside and out)."

I think this book will be great to read, although i have to read Fashion Frenzy first. Charlotte and Nick are like they never met each other. Nick is hanging out with Chelsea, what will happen to Charlotte's relationship status?
