His Boss's Daughter

Rate this book

My boss’s daughter crashed into my life…like fireworks.

And now, she’s carrying my baby.

I am a Navy SEAL, and a single dad to the most beautiful son on the planet.

Ethics come naturally to me,

Except when I see Alexa.

Oh…I am drawn like a moth to flame,

And want to drown myself in the vast ocean of her deep, blue eyes.

This is wrong on so many levels.

She’s the boss’s daughter, and so much younger.

But then…it’s been a long time.

No matter how hard I try to resist, life keeps bringing her back to me.

I need her.

My boss is going to kill me if he finds out.

And I’m going to do everything to claim what’s mine – my family.

eh it was okay.

Now I don't know if you have ever been on a vacation where someone has constantly been annoying you. Well, today that is me. Wellllll that's always me because there's a certain someone that ALWAYS annoys me. Spoiler alert... it's my mom. So I read this book to some how drown the noise I call her voice. It worked but this book was just ehh so ehh. I wasn't really invested.

In it, you will meet Reece and Alexa. They were cute and fluffy but kind of annoying. I didn't really get the whole thing about her dad giving them shit about being together. She was an adult and she knew what she was doing. Then to throw Reece's job into the picture was just plain stupid. Whatever, this book annoyed me. The romance just wasn't enough in the end.

Overall, they got a happy ending after being split up for like a year? I don't really know or care but her dad finally got that stick surgically removed from his ass. So yay for that.

Reece is on leave from the Navy for the birth of his son, when his wife dies unexpectedly after she gives birth. Now Reece is a single father and luckily his Admiral has been kind. Alexa is the Admiral’s daughter and starts a secret relationship with Reece. What will happen if her father finds out. Fast-paced steamy read with lots of drama and suspense. Their characters really have lots of depth and grow during this read. I really liked it.

Cute story, needs some work

The story was cute but somewhat predictable. I enjoyed the book but was very distracted by the numerous grammatical and word errors. The editor didn't do well.

Quick cute romance, but unfortunately amazon's blurb i think gave away too much of the plot. Some of the things it mentions don't happen until like half away through the book!

Just no

This book is so unrealistic. I mean u stop talking to someone because someone saw him on a dating site and then u say u dont want to get caught by your dad (at 20) and coming over late night just to have sex. Then another kicker she gets approved for an apartment with anhal of a part time job then gets a fashion design job with no education but decided that fashion was her passion from working at a part time job in a cloth in ng store where she more than once admitted she hated and barely went to. Oh please. Then the dad is a grade a asshole who doesn't give a crap about a little baby in the hospital all because his slut (that's what he called her) was sleeping with him. The female character acted like a bratty 3nyear old and the Male character had no back bone. All in all this book needs to be trashed and no one should read it.

Reece and Alexa's love story was a complete off limits romance. I am sure that being in the Navy, you probably shouldnt fall for your Admiral's daughter lol
When we meet Reece, he is a responsible widowed single dad who is doing the best he can for his son. He is not looking for love or even a partner. Alexa is a wild child, who almost seems like she will do anything to piss her dad off yet get his attention at the same time. She lives at home, has bad influence best friend, works part time etc.
Everything changes for the two of them at a dinner when Alexa lays her eyes on Reece and decides right there that she has to have him. Well it wouldnt be a total taboo love story if there wasnt some controversy. Lets just say that Reece's live in nanny, and friend's of the Admiral, may stick her nose where it doesnt belong to stir the pot.

Don't waste your money

I won't be buying this author, ever again. As an author, myself, I expect a certain level of basic research in what I read. I didn't make it past page 2 of this before I wished I could throw it out the window. The hero and his friends are supposed to be US Navy, but talk like Brits. And the hero claims to have "enlisted" as a Navy "Seal" ( it's SEAL. It's an acronym. If you haven't even researched that...). You can't ENLIST to be a SEAL, and certainly not right out of high school. The SEALs have to APPLY for training, and they have to have been in the military for a while, and proven themselves to be qualified to undergo BUD/S training.

This book is one of the most disgracefully under-researched and irritating books I've tried to read in a while.

I thought the story was cute, but the thing that drove me nuts with this story was every character had the same speech patterns. I felt the male mindset was to girlie at parts. We are talking damaged solider and that makes me think manly man. The dialogue just didn't match the plot to me most of the time. Sorry. I hate giving had reviews. This story reads distinctly female and all the characters use the same words to describe things is unrealistic. The plot was interesting. So points for that. Sorry this story was just not for me.

This was a forbidden romance between Reece and Alexa. It was an ok read for me. Alexa was a bit annoying at first but she did grow up by the end of the story. Reece was a widower who lost his wife a year before so he wasn’t looking for a relationship but he found one anyway. They did have chemistry and their times together were hot. They have some trials and tribulations at the beginning of their relationship but sometimes you have to have the bad with the good to get what you want.

I found this story hard to get into at first as I didn't feel a connection to Alexa or understand some of Reese's decisions. For me this story was a bit choppy in places and sometimes I felt the character's personalities were a bit split. However there were moments of really good character development and parts of the story were written well and I connected with the characters and cared about what happened to them.

It was okay was it got going

I started off really disliking this book. The main characters were doing everything possible to make their lives difficult and I just didn’t like either of them or the Alexa’s father who might have been the biggest brat of them all. I will say once things started to fall into place it becomes a really nice story and I enjoyed the ending. However I definitely almost stopped reading half way through because I was so frustrated with every single character accept the son Oliver.

I received this book through Booksprout in exchange for an honest review. This was my first read from Mia. I love this story, loved the hero Reece, but disliked Alexa. I like stories that have a slow burn romance to it, but Alexa was too forward when it came to sexual advances towards Reece, not to mention that she was over confidant. Other than my dislike for the heroine, I loved this story, and will read more from this author.

Ehh

Didn’t like the female character at first. So immature, so whiny. Then she grew, got some maturity and now didn’t like the male, but thankfully he got better as well. The characters grew, helped each other reach new potentials. So that’s good but for most of the I didn’t like one character or the other. So didn’t really enjoy the reading until the end when everything worked out.

He dislikes her, she lusts after him. She's self-centered, he's a bit all over the map. In the end, Mia finds a way for it to all work and you root for Reece and Alexa to find a way through the crazy... nannies, parents, and friendships... and come out on top.

Poor editing spoils a great story

A great storyline with plenty of passion but poor editing like names changing from Christine to Carolyn and Francesca to Florence, using ‘me and Reece’ when it should be ‘Reece and I’, and wrong use of apostrophes made reading frustrating at times. I’ve enjoyed other books by Mia Ford but I strongly suggest that they get new editors.

DNF @13%

Well... my very first DNF for this year. I just couldn't... the dialogues, the characters, the writing...

exhibit A:
Reece: "I don't like her, she's an entitled brat with slutty clothes and thinks she can get everything she wants."
Alexa" *looks at him*
Reece: "Wait what's that? I think I like her! Wow, she's amazing!"

No, thank you.

A good read. I gave the book 4 stars because it kept me interested. If you take my interest out, then it deserves 3 stars. The grammar was terrible and it was very cheesy. If you can overlook the grammar problems then you may like it. It's still a cute story between Reece and Alexa. She was very immature but you can see her grow as a person.

Why is no one talking about the terrible way this book was written? The grammar was terrible so was the choice of words... And don't even get me started on the sentence structures...ugghh just terrible. The story has so much potential if only written and researched properly.

This is another hit by Mia Ford,,,,

Reece Moore was a Navy Seal coming back home for the imminent birth of his first child with his wife of 10 years named Christine ,,,, he gets home in time for her water to break and for Reece to take her to the hospital ,,,, his wife delivers a beautiful baby boy and she says she wants to name him Oliver, right before her breathing gets erratic and she starts tanking,,,, she is taken into emergency surgery and the Dr comes back out to say he's sorry, but there was nothing that could be done,,,, now he and Oliver are on their own,,,,, Then his Admiral, Admiral Martin, gets him time to stay home with Oliver and a desk job and recommends a nanny ,,,,,

Alexa Martin is working at a clothing store instead of going to college and getting an education after high school like her father thinks she should've done ,,,, she has a best friend named Rebecca, her father really doesn't like ,,,, she and Rebecca go out all the time according to her father but tonight, her father is insisting she stays home and gets properly dressed because he is having a colleague over for dinner tonight,,,, and as Alexa's mother died of cancer when she was young, it's always been her and the Admiral ,,,, she meets Reece Moore that night and she's not all that sure she likes this Reece ,,,, but she sees him again one night at the club when her and Rebecca were out, but both her and Reece have been left alone by their friends so they take a walk together and maybe, just maybe, she was to harsh thinking back about Reece ,,,, but just think what would happen IF something would happen between them,,,, this could mean BIG trouble if the Admiral found out,,,,,

I really enjoyed this read ,,,, it has everything you want ,,,, I would so totally recommend this book to anyone,,,,,,

When one’s job and personal life mix, things can get a little hectic. Reece is a Navy Seal who returns home to witness the birth of his first child. Due to complications, his wife dies in childbirth and he is left caring for a newborn and uprooting his life away from the field. Helping him deal with his life change is his boss, the Admiral, who makes arrangements to assign him a different position and recommends a nanny to take care of his son. Alexa is the Admiral’s daughter and she just seems to be living the life of a party girl to the chagrin of her father. In order to curb her enthusiasm, the Admiral insists that Alexa be present at a dinner where she comes into contact with Reece. To say that the atmosphere at dinner is a little stilted is an understatement as Reece does not know how to deal with Alexa. However, a few hours later, Alexa runs into Reece at a bar and the sparks are flying although Reece is doing everything in his power to fight the attraction. There are some things that just cannot be extinguished and before they know what happened, Alexa and Reece are sneaking around like two teenagers. Will they be able to keep their relationship secret? How far will they go to get what they want? This is one well written emotional rollercoaster ride with one heck of a misunderstanding that just makes this storyline even more compelling to see how these characters will react.

Reece is a Navy Seal he came home for the birth of his child but something went wrong and his wife dies from complications. He ends up with a job stateside so he can be home t take care of his son. Alexa can never seem to do right in her father's eyes so she stops trying. Her father is Reece's boss and when he invites him over for dinner she is ordered to attend and to behave while he is there. Reece can think of better things to do with his evening but he doesn't have a choice so he spends an awkward evening with Alexa and his boss. When Alexa runs into Reece out in a bar later she doesn't miss the chance to talk to him. Sparks fly between them even though Reece tries to fight it. Its not before they are sneaking around to see each other. However they have an enemy closer than they know that could cause a problem for them. Will Reece risk everything to be with Alexa? What will Alexa's father do when he learns about them?

This is a great story once I started it I couldn't put it down. The chemistry between them is off the charts hot. This is a well written and very entertaining story. I would recommend this book to any book lover.
