Knights End starts off right where the 2nd book ended! So if you haven't read book 2 yet watch out for spoilers ! This is a reverse harem adult fantasy series with forced proximity, arranged marriage and a runaway princess (absolutely love all these tropes!)

Thankfully this book picked right up where book two ended because I don’t think I would have survived otherwise.

I loved all the political dynamics in book 3! Getting to explore more of the world and getting to know different characters was a lot of fun for me. I also really loved the unexpected ex-lovers subplot between two of the side characters. It was a ton of fun 😂 and I loved how it ended up playing a huge role in the way the story unfolded!

That epilogue though has me ridiculously anxious for the next book, which will continue the series but feature Avia. Already trying to figure out when I can squeeze those books into my reading schedule!

Thanks to the author for gifting me a copy. All thoughts are my own.

Ann Denton has quickly become one of my favorite authors. Her stories are always compelling. Her characters are always easy to like and root for, without them becoming naive for no reason. She builds these amazing worlds. I was therefore quite excited to get to the end of this trilogy (although I already knew there are two more books, which I assume focus on the sister) and to see how she would solve the issues and have our heroes win the war.

What makes me love and hate war stories at the same time is the chaos. It's impossible to write about war, without writing chaos. And I'm not a big fan of chaos. (Unless it's my TBR, that is a chaos and I have no idea how to bloody fix it) However, Denton manages to capture the chaos of war, especially when the war involves multiple countries and leaders, without completely losing herself in it. There seems to be some kind of order in how the characters do things. They even talk about it.

And since the characters were planning things, plotting things and trying to win this war with intelligence instead of brute force (which they didn't really have to begin with) I also really enjoyed reading the battle scenes. They weren't just brute descriptions of which sword goes into which soldier, they were focussed on the plan, the execution of the plan and the result of the plan. The characters, and Denton, never lost sight of the right direction.

And since the characters seem organized within this chaos there is also time for some really emotional and touching moments. Every man gets his chance to shine and bond with our queen and also our queen gets the chance to grow into her role even more, to grow emotionally into a better person and to learn from her mistakes. Because yes, those characters make mistakes. It makes them so amazingly realistic, even in a fantasy world.

I can't wait to get to the underwater duology!

While the trilogy wraps up for the heroine and her men, the epilogue ends on a minor cliffy and sets the stage for the next part of the series this time featuring Avia, the heroines sister. We finally get answers to who and what her sister is and where she's been. The final showdown was perhaps not as exciting as I'd hoped for but I'm glad the right one wins in the end. This book picked up right where the last left off and now that her men are back, they're not back exactly right. They are back powerless or so it seems. Their powers seemed to have shifted between them and thus a lifetime of training is out the window and each has to quickly and efficiently learn their new powers to help defeat their enemies and defend their kingdom. While I was worried with this start I loved watching the men work together and train one another. Even them accepting one more into the fold was a breeze to them and I'm sure this helped the burden on the heroines already heavy shoulders. War is on the horizon and old friends are now enemies. The heroine really took to her role as queen as she should have all along. I'm so glad she finally accepted her position and stopped trying to pawn the crown off when it was so clearly meant to be hers. I loved her, the men and this trilogy overall. This made for a great read. From the RH romance to the fantasy and magical elements I was taken for a ride. One more serious than the normal hilarity from this author but I completely enjoyed it and now am on edge waiting for Avia's book series next.

Took me the longest time to get into this. The series started so strongly but the finale didn't hit the spot for me. When I hit about 70% I realised it was a lack of Quinn 😂

That’s a wrap on my adventures with Bloss and her knights! KIGHT’S END was a fantastic conclusion to this first trilogy in the Tangled Crowns series. It was rich with all the action and plot twists I’ve come to appreciate in this series, and nicely brought to conclusion the political threads of the previous installments. We also got to visit more locations, which I really enjoyed because the world-building is so vast and has endless potential—potential that I’m betting will play a big role in the second trilogy centered around Bloss’s sister, Avia. I loved getting to see her again, and the author does a fantastic job setting up her story and making me extremely curious for her adventure without taking the limelight away from Bloss and her her boys.

My one “complaint” for this last installment is that while the pacing and action were as engaging as in the previous books, I found the romance to be a little lacking in comparison. There are some great scenes between Bloss and her knights as a group, but I missed those small, intimate moments between Bloss and each individual knight. For the main four, it was nostalgia since those scenes were what made me fall madly in love with them, but I especially wanted them for Blue and feel like they could have made his role within the harem more believable. While I loved his character as a whole, he feels disconnected from the other knights and from the harem dynamic, and his bond with Bloss seems to stem from lust rather than the deep, intimate feelings linking her to Quinn, Declan, Ryan and Connor. Plot wise, there were a lot of storylines to wrap up, so I understand that it was probably impossible to increase the romantic content without making the book excessively long and slowing down the pace, but maybe because of that I would have preferred not adding a fifth knight so late into the series.

Nevertheless, the book was incredible in its whole, and I cannot stress enough how much I enjoyed reading this series. Despite being new to the reverse harem world, these books really read like a classic romantic fantasy story along the lines of Throne of Glass, but with more love interests at once. If you love that sort of book, I highly recommend this series!

Thank you to the author for gifting me a copy. All opinions are my own.

I miss the boys already.

This was a great end to this first trilogy, full of plot twists and political drama, which took center stage in this final installment since all the events in the previous books were leading up to a war. I think the author did a fantastic job at bringing everything together. It was fast paced, action-packed, and the resolutions to some of the conflicts were really clever. I also loved that we had the opportunity to see more of the world, and more characters that so far had only been mentioned. One of my favorite scenes was in Sedara, where we get to meet Declan’s infamous mother. In the short time we got to see her, she definitely lived up to her reputation. A remarkable b…well, you get what I mean. That scene led to one of my favorite moments between Bloss and some of her knights, too.

The knights, as usual, hold a special place in my heart. They’ve suffered a lot in this book, and I think none more than Declan and Quinn. Especially Quinn. For reasons that I won’t disclose to avoid spoiling anyone, there were instances where we got less of him. Fortunately they didn’t last long (or so it seemed to me as I breezed through the book), but I felt his absence in those moments. Have I discovered who my favorite is? Perhaps.

There’s also a fifth knight who was added to the mix, and while I loved him as a character, I feel like I didn’t have enough time to fully appreciate his relationship within the harem and with Bloss. He fit in fine into the group and had some great moments, but I didn’t warm up to him in his role as one of Bloss’s husbands like I did with the others, and that’s because I knew them the longest. I also have the overall feeling there was less romance compared to the other books in the series because the book demanded to give more attention to the plot. There were still some great moments, but the author spoiled us in the previous two books.

I’m so excited for the second trilogy in this series, which has Avia, Bloss’s sister, as a protagonist. I love her character, and the epilogue at the end promises trouble! I hope we also get to see what Bloss and her beloved husbands are up to.

This is one of those cases where I need to stop judging books by their cliffhangers. I’m disappointed I didn’t read this one sooner. The twists are done, the worst of the backstabbing is over. This one is fighting back, trying to reclaim a kingdom and finding enough time to have sex with the knights. Enjoyed every part, mostly funny. Felt sorry for Quinn. Favourite part was the thoughts through the bond. Will be interesting to see where the spin off goes.

Such an amazing series! Knight's End concludes Bloss's story and I am going to miss seeing my boys and Bloss's bad ass attitude. I know she struggled with being queen, but I honestly think she did the best job she could in her situation.

Book 3 takes up where book 2 ends and Bloss finds herself in the midst of a war, her sister is still missing, and her men's power has all rearranged. Not the best start to a reign, but these were the cards Bloss was dealt.

We had to say goodbye to a loved character in this book, which actually made me really sad. If he had to die, I thought it was the best way he could go. Even in death, he was unselfish and helpful. He gives Bloss more time to carry out her plans and find her sister.

Once again, I love how Denton writes the romance between Bloss and each of her husbands. Every single one of them is so unique and have a developed personality. I can't imagine how hard that is when you are dealing with so many characters, but she knows exactly what Bloss needs in each of her men. Never did I feel like her husbands were over powering her. Which could be easy with so many of them, but Bloss holds her own.

My only tiny critic is that I did feel like the ending was a little abrupt. HOWEVER, I know that I'm going to be obsessed with Avia's story. I do think Denton did a great job at setting up Bloss' sister's story.

Cannot wait to continue on!

Hmm so

-I like the guys and blue and everything that happens with them especially at the beginning

-the premise of the series with the magic system and shit continues to be very cool/unique

BUT

-lots of politics and battle strategy and tedious shit

-not much sex
-kinda forgot about the plot with her sister until pretty far into the book because they are so wrapped up in planning that they don’t mention her like ever

-I hated that goddamn flower fairy thing so much

-from about 40% onward I kept wanting to do other things instead of pick it up and finish it. That’s pretty rare for me.

-the way it all shakes out with her sister at the end was not great imo

-don’t read the epilogue if you want to be happy and free of this book. I wish I hadn’t read it.

This is one of those books (and series overall really) where I have a good time reading it but then when I stop and think about it I’m like meh about it.

It felt like it was building up to dramatic fighting scenes throughout the book, but I did not find a single dramatic fighting scene. If we could've seen more of the battles rather than them being over quickly, it would've gotten 5*

Didn’t like this as much as the first two just because there were a *lot* of politics involved. However the love story with Blue, and Quinn’s story were highly redeeming in my mind.

This book was just so. Freaking. Amazing. I don’t have the words to describe it. It was the perfect ending for a more than perfect series. There was everything one would expect in a great book and then some. And there were so many twists and turns on the plot, things that I did NOT see coming. Plus, Ann Denton has proved that she has a great knack for humor that comes in the most unexpected ways and brightens things up. I’m still in shock over some of the revelations and some of the things and I’m just mind blown but this story. I’m going to miss Bloss and her guys (especially her guys lol).

Enjoyable story, I wish the epilogue had been about Bloss and her knights rather than Raj, or that there had been more at the end of the story because I felt a little cheated on the HEA for them. I like the price of wishes being nightmares, and the angst that Quinn felt. I wish his last one hadn’t ended soon, maybe it was cause I was reading too fast but I almost felt like I was a part of the nightmare because it wasn’t until the scene in the fields with him requesting to join the army that I realized that that must be his nightmare from the heart wish and that I hadn’t read/thought about him since that scene where he granted the wish. And I liked how the nightmares increased in horror, from not being able to speak, to not being able to be seen/felt, to being forgotten. I also loved Blue, I wish we had even more background on him but he is definitely a “looks like he could kill you, is actually a cinnamon roll” which is one of my favs. I also liked getting more into Declan and his mom, wish there could have been more there, maybe him getting revenge personally. Also I want to know how Bloss’s fathers got Avia in the first place, how did they get to the underwater castle, how were they able to steal her when she must have been heavily guarded if she had the queens heart in it? I liked Declan and Ryan’s friendship, would have liked to see more of that from all of them, and especially more of how they were integrating Blue into their group.

ok Ann, you have definitely made me a fan.. I will continue to give reverse harem a shot. This book was more geared towards the policies and governmental value of Bloss' kindgom. There was less romance for sure but I still enjoyed the unraveling of events. I am a huge fan of her sister! I would love to learn more about her. I love how the author slowly introduced Avia into this story to pace our her own journey in other books tiedd to the Tangled Crowns.

I have to say Bloss was one hell of a character and her knights were special. Each of them had something.. QUINNNNN... I will protect you. Bloss is meant to be with all of them! This story gave me the feels, I love the side characters too! I am one sucker for side characters, I want to protect them always.

I truly wish there was more romance, but! There was so much romance throughout the series, I have to say it was rather satisfying. I am so excited to learn about the new lands and the ways of Avia, this book was a heavy intro of her character and I am here for it! Super happy I gave this series a shot, it was so much more than I expected!

Thank you Ann for sending me a copy of the book. Looking forward to reading much more!

A strong “finale” for this arc. The plot threads tied to this storyline are essentially all resolved, the answers are satisfying, and you can see how early details were quietly connected from the beginning. The writing remains polished and confident, and the pacing carries the reveal-heavy last act well.
I only wish the relationship with Blue had been explored more deeply. Compared with the gradual, carefully built bonds with the other knights, this one feels less developed, and a slower progression would have made the emotional payoff stronger.
The epilogue clearly sets the stage for the next three books and shifts focus toward Avia. Personally, it did not leave me particularly curious to follow that new line, but as a close to this phase, Knight’s End lands its promises.

I really liked the series, the story line and the general world that was created by the author was so fun and interesting. However, I felt like Knight’s End both dragged a little and also had a bit of information overload all at once. The flow of this book was not consistent with the rest of the series and therefore lost a half of a star unfortunately.

I struggle doing that a little bit though because of the other books in this genre are not really comparable. This series was so much better.

I’d definitely recommend it as well as the others.

dnf

I really like the first book, but by this book it just started dragging in the story just felt like it kept making up stuff to keep it going, but the point where I had a DNF is when the MC had to laugh about traumatizing her Handmaiden. When her and one of her nights had sex in front of the handmaiden that was frozen it gave me the icks. That’s not consent and the fact she did it on purpose? Then later she joked about trauma. It’s not cool and really took me out. It’s not even a trigger, it’s dehumanizing people that are supposed to be caring for you.

Such a good read!!!

So glad I found this author and I absolutely can't wait for the next book from this world! There's so much to like about this story, it's unique and intriguing how the characters interact with each other along with the magic they have. The author also gives you a chance to experience a full spectrum of emotions while enjoying the story, that to me is so important. I'll keep my fingers crossed that I won't have to wait long for the next installment !

Oh I was disappointed by this book.
The storyline was very rushed and the editing was pretty poor. Multiple typos and Ginnifer's name got change to Gennifer!
I feel a bit cheated out of the HEA, yes they survived etc but that last page was a bit of a damp squib. I was ready to get into a hot sex scene but instead they just went to sleep! If I wanted that I wouldn't be reading RH!
Aria's POV is next, I think I'll come back to it another time.

Great book

Very satisfying ending to a wonderful trilogy. I love the interactions of her knights and how they all support each other. The banner is heat and the sex scenes are HOT. I LOVE that nothing happens without sacrifice and that love, loyalty and teamwork are what will save the day. Greatly recommend this whole series.

These are all supposed to be adults, the queen is the youngest, 22 I think. But we have to constantly read about ‘sharing her’. Comments like it is my turn, or ‘I’m her favorite’ were riddled through out the book. It became tiresome.

For a reverse harem, the romance was a let down. It read more like a YA book by the end.

Fantastic ending with a lead to the future

I did like how the ending generally answered all (or at least most) questions but it did feel very rushed; I would have appreciated maybe 2 or 3 more chapters just so that certain twists could have gotten their due time lol

I enjoyed the storyline of this book very much, I just wish it had more storylines and less explicit sex lines. sometimes it seemed like I was reading a porn book
