A few supernaturals with awesome superpowers trying to save other kidnapped supernaturals -it’s fiction! How cool would it be to do what they can do ;P
One of Quinn’s super powers is being able to translate any language. When she hears demons talking about kidnapping other supernaturals, she immediately reports and requests help from her friend, Delilah, who in turn sends Daniel and his team in. Daniel has some nifty powers of his own!
For a novella, I was happily engrossed! I was asurprised by how much was condensed into a short time! A feisty heroine and somewhat bossy hero, their cute attraction, and one very interesting firefight was pretty entertaining.
I've liked most of the installments of this series, but this one kinda fell flat for me. I love the powers the heroine has, though I couldn't see where they stopped or would be too over whelming and seemed too powerful at times. The same goes for the hero's powers. I also got lost when it came to them meeting before? I don't know where I missed that in the story and I re-read a few parts to see where I might've missed that. Maybe it was just the length/format, but I felt like I missed something a few times with this story. I also had a bit of a time liking the heroine.... she seemed too impulsive at times and not in a good way. I did like the peek into the translating field though that was pretty neat.
This is the second novella from the Legendary Consultants series that I've read. I'm yet to read the other books in the series, but I am keen to give them a go soon. I really like Abigail Owen's writing style and world building. Being a novella this does rattle by at a very fast pace. This does mean that there are a couple of things that don't have as much detail as you might expect in a longer story. For the most part, though, it doesn't matter. I liked both the hero and heroine and the developing attraction between them. There were a couple of little questions left at the end that I would have liked answering, but for the most part I enjoyed this quick read.
It has great buildup. the story comes in quick. the main character Quinn badass loves the couple Dynamics and the just friend dynamic as well would read it again. highly recommend
