This was a nice book, but I think it’s targeted more towards adolescent women. It was a reminder of God’s love which is always sweet, but I didn’t find myself with any new takeaways or thinking differently about my faith. It’s a pretty normal Christian perspective, but said the same thing repeatedly. I feel secure in God’s love and just didn’t get much from this. So my low rating is because I personally didn’t like it. I think young girls would during a trying time.

I did not know what to expect upon starting this book. I do feel it has a powerful message that would be a blessing to anyone reading it. This book was a recommendation from my Mother who also found it inspiring. It is a short read with application questions after each chapter. I chose to read slowly and absorb what was applicable to me. I particularly found the chapters on the idea of self-esteem and perfectionism interesting. The last chapter summed it up well with a great sentence “You may not always feel GOOD about yourself, but you can feel RIGHT about yourself”. I put far too much emphasis on good. Truthfully, not even good, but perfect. I’ll never be perfect, so I hereby give up trying to please myself and the world. This’ll be a book I revisit every few years as a way to recharge this enthusiasm to accept myself as I am. A great and inspiring read!

"brokenness is what is needed--to lose the pieces of our very own identity! let our very self be lost so a new person can emerge... one that is honest, glued together with love, unafraid to be exposed & obviously human.. " --the author

'for all have sinned and fall short of His glory..' when u felt, at some point in ur life as a woman, that u were insignificant or a person with neither value nor worth, or u are having a hard time forgiving urself & others, or if u are a woman in pain & trying to be free from whatever ghosts u have, a ghost which is a shadow of something that no longer exist, or ure a woman with low self-esteem... this book is for u to help u realize how special & wonderful creation u are.. a person worth of value and a sparkling jewel found and made by God.. a woman who is forgiven, justified and saved by the greatest price--- His life when He died on the cross for all our sins (past, present & future sins)....

For the type of book it is it wasn't bad. It had some really good messages here and there. I think had I been suffering from this issue it would have been a much better book. Since I'm not it was still an okay read with other messages that I could relate to.
