This is a review for Candy Conniptions and Dreamy Delights Book one and two in the Arbor Vitae Coven Series. Both stores have different MCs first Ruby and Maddock and in the second book Regan and Tatiana.

The Arbor Vitae Coven is located on Morbank Island, which is part of the Canadian 1000 Islands. The Matrons and their Husbands, their boys and kids younger than 18 are staying there, but a lot of the other young folk left the island, including the daughters of the coven. And the daughters do not keep in touch or come back home and visit. But Pru, who seems to be the head witch of the Coven discovers that there is a spell that makes the girls go away and stay wherever they go. And she finds a spell to counteract this spell, with the drawback, that there will be (unknown) backlash. The coven Matrons know that it is very important, that the girls return to strengthen the coven and to help making the island more attractive to tourists and supernaturals.

The first two books are about the return of Ruby, Pru’s daughter and the return of Tatiana Lucille’s daughter.

Both books were pretty short, so fast reads. I liked the life on the island because it feels frozen in time. The girl want to change that a bit without loosing the charm of the island. It was easy to relate to the characters they are well described and you hate the mean girls and like the people of the Arbor Vitae Coven. The first book explains the background story and there is a set up in the right direction. The second book kind of was only a little about this background story. Mainly it was about Tatianas and Regans love story. And that is fine, but I really hope we will learn more about the plot (why are spells placed on the island and who did it? Are there one or many enemies?) And I also hope that it will not take 10 books until the Tempting Ten return and find their partners.

I enjoyed both books, but I must confess, that I like her other two series Neighpalm Industries Collective and Collectors Division better. But it is okay, as Arbor Vitae Coven is her first series and an author needs time to grow. Just look at Harry Potter which is a bestseller: the first two books are not as good as the fifth book in the Series.

I really liked this book. I tend to be drawn to darker, more tense stories, which can become overwhelming back to back. This was the perfect little treat of sweetness in between the other books on my TBR list. I'm so excited that there are other books in the series for me to continue to sprinkle in when my reading needs to be lightened up.

Loved this book! Struggled to put it down to go back to work. Loving the storyline and can't wait to read the rest in the series.
Ooh not though, I have never gotten so angry with a character before lol, with the exception of umbridge in Harry Potter, although pretty close lol.

I received a review copy of this book in return for an honest review

This was a spicy, sweet story and I loved it! I love the community of Morbank, and Ruby is both sweet and feisty. Maddock seems like a jerk in the beginning but he definitely improves as the story goes on ;) The mystery isn’t entirely resolved at the end, so I’m sure we’ll see more in the next books. I’m excited to see how things shake up! This is a quick read.

Ruby is my hero. I love her character so much. I love that she does not give up on Maddox. There is drama and suspense. We learn of some manipulations and deceptions. Can’t wait for Tatiana’s story.

Candy Conniptions is a fantastic start to this exciting new series. You're introduced to the Arbor Vitae Coven and the colorful residents of Morbank Island. The direction this series is going is interesting and novel, resulting in me eagerly awaiting more stories. If you're looking for a new, fun supernatural series, look no further! Fun and cute story! (Some spoilers ahead)

Pretty good storyline and I’m looking forward to seeing what happens next in bringing the other “missing” characters back into the picture.

I felt like the half of the book was better than the second half. The lead up to the MC coming back to town, her return and initial impression of the changes in town while gone were all good. However, the second half of the book was lackluster. It was obvious the source of the problem, yet the MC and other supposedly experienced witches and supes are completely oblivious.

I do plan to continue to read the series but hope that either the clues dropped by the author are a little less obvious or that the characters start to pick up on the clues better.

This was a very fun read, that you will not be able to put down. It moves along at a great pace which makes it a great read. It is not speeding up and slowing down all the time. The characters are great and you want to know more about them and the story will grab you from the moment that you start reading all the way till the very last word. This is a must read, no doubt about it.

Interesting. I liked it. Covens aren’t usually my thing but gave it a shot because the author is surprising. Short but great character building and start to a new series. It’s pretty obvious who the bad guys are. Favourite characters were Regan, Josh and Galan.
