When I stepped on that flight to Rome, I never could have imagined the man sitting across the aisle from me would tilt my world on its axis.
He claimed it was fate that brought us together. But I never believed in such notions.
That was something for the dreamers, the romantics, not someone as practical and pragmatic as I.
Fate had nothing to do with me walking in on my soon-to-be husband in a compromising position with his secretary.
Fate had nothing to do with me hopping on a plane to Rome, effectively standing up my former fiancé on our wedding day.
And fate certainly had nothing to do with the handsome stranger sitting across the aisle from me, one who would open my mind and heart to things I never thought possible.
Because if fate is real, she's cruel and unforgiving.
I thought I'd left my past behind when I stepped onto that plane.
I was a fool to think I could ever truly escape my past.
Not when it's so viciously intertwined with my present.
T.K. Leigh, otherwise known as Tracy Leigh Kellam, is the USA Today Bestselling author of the Beautiful Mess series, in addition to several other works. Originally from New England, she now resides outside of Raleigh with her husband, beautiful daughter, three cats, and special needs rescue dog.
When she’s not writing she can be found training for her next marathon (of which she has run over twenty fulls and far too many halfs to recall), having impromptu dance parties with her daughter, or planning her next trip to parts unknown.
Oh wow, what an amazing series this was. Kept me enthralled all the way through. I loved Eleanor and Dante and what they went through right to the very end. Amazing read and totally worth the read!!!
Again, when the drama is so much you want the book to end, not good. This should have been a tear jerker. Could barely tear up at all. Just too much of the drama. If you read good suspense novels, they draw the line before it becomes endless. This author should have gone with less is more. Definitely not what I was hoping for.
I absolutely loved this amazing series! Inferno is an intriguing story, to say the least. A beautiful woman who has been trapped and controlled her entire life, finally breaking free of the suffocating restraints. Meeting an enigmatic man who makes her feel things she's never felt before.
The chemistry and passion between Dante and Eleanor is off the charts. T.K. does an incredible job of building up the attraction and desire between these two characters. What started out as a proposition to just spend this limited time together quickly morphed into something that feels so much deeper than just a casual fling while Eleanor is in Rome.
Part 2 focused on Dante and Eleanor together. T.K. just knows how to write and build a foundation between two people. The feelings they have for one another, the thoughts and emotions that run through them as they think about each other, the physical connections they create. She just does such an amazing job that I tend to forget these people are just characters in a book and are not real people who live and breathe. Fate and Karma play a huge roll in Dante and Eleanor's story. Was it fate that brought them together? How big of a part will fate play in whether these two have a future together?
Part 3 - The coin, or Fate, has Eleanor going home to California to start her life over and learn how to stand on her own for the first time in her life. T.K. weaves a very realistic story of a woman who has led a very sheltered life being fed a huge dose of reality as to what the average person deals with on a day to day basis. Here is a woman whose family connections got her the prestigious job she formerly held, and it is that same family connection that is working against her in finding a job at all.
The suspense ratchets up a little in this installment, with Eleanor finding out more things about her father, some of them from the man himself. But can she even trust anything he says? They've never had a close relationship, and after her fallout with Brock, her mother seems even more acrimonious towards her.
I particularly liked the unique way that Eleanor communicated with Dante during their time apart. That was lovely and emotional and warmed my heart.
Part 4 - T.K. pulls no punches in this climactic conclusion to Dante and Eleanor's story! T.K. knows how to write romantic suspense. The romance in this book is off the charts sexy. The passion and emotion between Dante and Eleanor was smoldering. Dante knows how to treat a women, in and out of the bedroom. And Eleanor finally felt secure enough in her feminism to explore a wilder side of sex with Dante. And damn, was it hot!!
The suspense element had me glued to the pages. There are twists and turns around every corner! My heart was in my throat for half the book, the story building to an intensity level that had me almost walking away from my Kindle. One particular scene had me in tears, yelling, "Why, T.K.! Why?" I wasn't sure I was going to emerge from that unscathed.
The plot twist that occurs totally blindsided me. I thought I had it all figured out as to who was doing what, and I did guess a few things correctly, but one particular twist really threw me for a loop!! Totally did not see that coming!! Bravo, T.K. for pulling that one off!
This series was one heck of a ride!! I think this is some of T.K.'s finest work, all the elements of an amazing story included within the pages. What a series!!
The story really is pretty good! I like the characters, and the fact that they aren’t all good or bad (with a few obvious exceptions), they’re very human.
Author does a good job with character development and plot twists, but the way the ending was unraveled was a bit hard to understand, and took two separate scenes of lengthy dialogue to untangle and walk through how they all ended up there.
Some of the most important characters in the story barely got any attention until those final scenes where their actions were described, which also made it hard to really grasp, because we didn’t have much background on or involvement with them before the end of the book. Maybe spreading more of the behind the scenes information about those side characters throughout more of the story would make it easier to understand.
A good story with room for improvement, but definitely worth the read. Looking forward to seeing this author develop more in the future, lots of potential here, particularly with complex storylines and dramatic reveals.
Swoony excerpt bit: “I don’t know who I am without you. You’re a part of me. Without you in my life, I’m hopelessly incomplete.”
Although this was a bit drawn out, the story is very good with main characters that have palpable chemistry. It starts out as a fairytale romance, but then in the second part a mystery begins to develop and it grows into a more complex love story as well. The story slows a bit in the middle with a lot of long, steamy, filler scenes, leaving the mystery and suspense to linger in the background. In the last quarter, though, it really picks up again, moving at the speed of light with the drama seen in movies, and now I was on the edge, unable to put this down. So, while IMHO this could have been condensed some, it's still a worthwhile read with mystery, suspense, romance, and a very good conclusion.
I love TK's work so I was excited to read this. I have to tell you this is by far her best work. It is a story about finding yourself after years of being told and being made to do things that really weren't you but you did them because you thought that is what you were supposed to do. I love the twist turns and emotions involved but was not prepared for the mother of all cliff hangers in book 1. Danta and Ellie's story is a must read if you love suspense and all the feels and no one but TK can write it better. TK you knocked it out of the park. Read this series you will definately not be disappointed.
This series was super hot but definately had a very interesting story to go with the heat. Suspense almost from the beginning and didnt get answers till the very end, and believe me, I had exhausted my guesses as to who the “bad guys” really were. None of my guesses were correct. Great characters, Dante and Eleanor we very easy to love. Secondary characters, mainly Mila, Ellie’s best friend, were equally loveable.
I have to say I was worried this was going to be one of those books where she meets a complete stranger and throws her life away for him but then I wondered how it had so many books to come so obviously that wasn’t the case she had her own identity she wanted to find and learn more about herself which I think everyone should do! You can’t love another unless you love yourself first. Then add in the drama and mystery this was an awesome book, slow in some spots but still an awesome read
This series has it all. Romance, mystery, angst and nail biting suspense. Not to mention a hot Italian who is everything you could dream of. Never believing in happily ever after, fate has other ideas for Eleanor, no matter how stubborn she is. Thank God for her best friend Mila, who is a hoot. I'm glad I purchased the box set so I could read the series from beginning to end and not wait for each book. I couldn't have stood the wait
I love this series! I read it all in a weekend and it left me emotionally drained. Their relationship is addictive to read, and the chemistry between them is fantastic! I love the storyline of book 2 and how their relationship adapted. The last book had me crying, I felt like I was there. I can’t remember the last time I read a series and felt all the emotions like this. It’s a must read!
T.K., you broke my heart!! This story is as beautiful as the cover. Childhood sorrow, forever love and as much tragedy as one can handle. This book destroyed me and made my heart sing at the same time. I could not put book 4 down because I needed to see who was behind the madness and it did not come until the very end. Wonderful job, T.K.
If you want to read a book, that you can’t put down. One that consumes your thoughts and leaves you wanting it to never end. This is the series to read. Love this story. It’s a perfect mix of storytelling, steamy romance, angst, and tragedy. Trust me. You will want to start it all over again once you finish.
What an amazing book series! I’m trying to put into words how much I enjoyed this book series. Dante & Eleanor are such strong characters & I fell in love with them. This book had it all! We were given friendships, romance, family drama, mystery, & suspense all written T.K. Leigh style!
Ohhhhh... how I wish I had a man like Dante. This is the first series I've read that I can actually feel the 💘 between main characters. Dante is definitely my #1 book boyfriend. This is one series I will never forget. Great job T.K. Leigh!!
Definitely a must read series!!! I absolutely loved this storyline, I loved all the surprises and turns in it. It kept me reading and I couldn't put it down!! I couldn't wait to the end but then I hated for it to end because I loved the main characters so much!!
Fantastic series Loved the characters and most of the story line. Had to "fast forward" a little as it seemed repetitive. This series was the first books I read by TK Leigh .. and won't be my last.
Just wow! Inferno was aptly named because this book is set your panties on fire! Once you start reading, you won’t be able to get enough of Ellie and Dante. This story is passionate, filled with raw emotions, morals, its about finding yourself and stepping out of your comfort zone.
This series broke my heart into little pieces and had me crying like a baby. This is an amazing story of two broken souls that are deserving of the love that they found by fate, but the need for answers and self discovery may be the things that tears them apart. 5 Sizzling Dante's Inferno Stars!!!
I have read some books by this author and loved the stories so much. Part one of this series drew me in and the cliffhanger had me holding on. I was not expecting that. As the book continued into more books I thought the story got pulled out a little long at times. Eleanor seemed to get a little whiny to me at times. During the fourth book I was getting upset with her more and more. Then it took a drastic turn and pulled me in again. I did enjoy this series a lot.
From the start of the series to the end I was on the edge of my nook. This was a wonderful set of books to read. Very steamy and action packed with a surprise of who done it. Loved this because I never knew what was going to happen next. T. K. Leigh is one heck of writer.
