Leigh Bardugo’s Six of Crows meets Alexandra Bracken’s Passenger in this spellbinding conclusion to the “vivid and compelling” (BCCB) New York Times bestselling Last Magician series.
Unite the Stones Free the City Remake the World
Once, Esta believed that she could change the fate of magic. She traveled to the past and stopped the Magician from destroying a mystical book that held the key to freeing her people from the Brink, an energy barrier that traps all Mageus who cross it.
But the Book was more than she bargained for. So was the Magician she was tasked to steal it from.
Hunted by an ancient evil, Esta and Harte have raced through time and across a continent to track down the powerful artifacts they need to bind the Book’s devastating power. They’ve lost family, betrayed friends, and done what they’d both vowed never to fallen in love with the one person who could truly destroy them.
Now, with only one artifact left, their search has brought them back to New York, the city where it all began. But nothing in Manhattan is as they left it. Their friends have scattered, their enemies have grown more powerful, and as the deadly Brink beckons, their time is running out.
If they can’t find a way to end the threat they’ve created, then the very heart of magic will die—and it will take the world down with it.
Lisa Maxwell is the New York Times Best-Selling author of THE LAST MAGICIAN. Also of UNHOOKED, SWEET UNREST, and GATHERING DEEP. When she's not writing books, she teaches English at a local college. She lives near DC with her very patient husband and two not-so patient boys.
first book in this series is one of my favourite YA ever and genuinely underrated, imo. But the more the series went on the more it just... lost sight of what made it so good.
This book is. WAY too bloated. you could easily lose 200-300 ages and keep the gist of the story intact. I did think the actual ending and the way the series wrapped up was well done. But this book is just not well written, which is sad, when the first is so tightly written and so clever.
If it was not for the fact I love the characters, this would be a 2 star book. Which is such a shame for this series
~4.75⭐️~ Song: "Burn The House Down"- AJR (the whole series) Just...wow. This book, this series, just...wow. But why do I do this to myself? Why can't I just read a heartwarming lightweight rom-com or rom-fantasy? Why do I like to traumatize my ass this way? I'm crying my soul out and idk if it's from pain or happiness ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ 92% reading update: OMG OMG what the HELL?! This is the best plot twist I've ever read~~Thank God I kept reading this series
89% reading update: I still live in the 50% in which we're all alive and happy. ALIVE AND HAPPY I SAID
27% reading update: I'm pulling some real Sherlock shit here connecting different timelines with different endings. Time travel is WILD ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Even tho I've heard this series was supposed to be only a duology, I loveee these characters and I'm really sad that this is my last ride with them😭 If you see this just know I recommend it. At least the first book deserves a read🫶🏻 It's true it ran off course from the original beginning but it's still a good series nonetheless.
I usually get really confused by books with time travel bc I get distracted by actions in the past affecting the future. But this series had an absolute chokehold on me the entire time. It’s non stop action, danger, and entertainment. Multiple heroes and villains with a clever magic system, this series was epic.
This really pains me to write since I started this series adoring these characters but my lord this series is just too long to take seriously. A lot of people think the first book should’ve been a standalone, and I agree to a point although I do enjoy the second book so perhaps a duology? The reality is that absolutely nothing happens in this book, nor does anything happen in the previous one. There is just a lot of the same scenes being repeated and reused and I’ve lost all care for any of the characters. I didn’t even fully read this book, I skimmed only for Harte and Esta chapters.
By this point, the series has little to no plot. The constraints of the world are falling apart and the magic system no longer adheres to rules established in previous books. Personally, I LOVE Esta and Harte, but even so I hated reading about them in the last two books. The Last Magician shouldve been a stand-alone or a much shorter duology. There just isn’t any need for this size of a book when nothing happens except repetitiveness.
The side characters are dull and bland and offer nothing to the plot. I actually ended up skipping their chapters and finished the book knowing what happened just fine. I am not sure why these books are so long or what value they offer.
There are also a good amount of formatting errors and typos in this book but it is quite a large book so perhaps some things were overlooked in production. Either way, take with that what you will.
I will say that the historical research that went into this series is commendable. I hope to see Lisa Maxwell try something a bit more concise with her research abilities. She is also an extremely talented writer, again I’m just not sure why this series exists as such a long work of fiction?
I know the author expressed frustration with this series multiple times online with drafting and length etc. it’s really refreshing to see writers have critiques of their own work and I’m glad that I agree with most of her struggles she found while writing the series. I really hope she continues writing in the future as I’ll definitely pick up future work!
Overall, a lackluster conclusion for a series that started so strong. If you are a fan of the series, I’d strongly consider sticking to just the first two books. If you hated book 3, give this one a skip. It’s about the same.
“What is history but a kind of magic?” Seshat asked. “A story written to create a truth, like ritual magic carves power with time.”
~4.5 stars~
Violà. What a great ending. The relief of When things just somehow places into it's own right place. Esta and Harte have been through a lot. But I can definately say this: Esta and Harte are one of the best POWER OTP COUPLE OF ALL TIME. 🤟
1/5/22 gm i actually. finished this book. i have approximately five million and two homework assignments to do and i spent literally all my free time yesterday Not Doing Them and reading instead. L. hm what even were my thoughts. i waited a year and a half for to stop being an idiot ab i almost straightup squealed except it was like 11pm and everyone else was asleep so instead queenie got several insane dms. things to not do instead of sleeping btw i was. mildly less enthused by the rest of the kissing that occurred in the book i was more interested in being utterly confused by the whole time travel thing. like WHAT was GOING ON LANFUIUWEIJEWIE !!! the serpent severing time by catching its tail was pretty cool im a sucker for stories involving the ouroboros and time et cetera however i am still thoroughly confused by whatever in the WORLD happened in the last few chapters. It was. Something else!!!! things just happened i guess!!! Literally pulled a FMAB there at the end. i read that and i was like ELRICS. ALSO ESTA IS SEVENTEEN??? STILL????? hElp? i did fully enjoy the friendship aspects of this story. shoutout to Jianyu and Viola specifically and Cela and Abel and Ruby etc there is strength in numbers etc. so many insane things happened it was constantly just like How Much Pain Can Our Characters Go Through and what absolutely insane situations they can manage to get themselves into. LIKE BRO you KNOW Nibsy has the cane why are you. DOING THAT!!!
anyway idk again it has been. a year and a half since i read the other three books. my memory is. spotty. that's not a good word for it it is just completely blank tbh i only remember some very specific things from the previous books. so that didn't help very much l o l villains who consider everybody else beneath them are low-key so boring this is a personal opinion i am jus rambling now it is 7:50am but ya. it sure was a Book thumbsup!!! WHATEVER i got what i wanted in July 2021 gg
edit several hours later: hi the epilogue finally JUST sunk in i was too busy considering the fact that i was making bad decisions (not new) and had to be up in 6 hours when i was reading it last night. but i just actually thought about it and WHAT IN THE ABSOLUTE WORLD IS GOING ON. this is crazy. fully insane. i will fully admit that i enjoyed the whole philosopher's hand artifacts thing appeals to me despite the cliche of Ye Olde Powerful Artifacts or whatever. who cares it's baller. --
i am once again cursed by finding yet another quartet with only the first three books published
honestly i swear when will this stop happening
11/29/21: HSYDWIOIOE I JUST REALIZED THIS HAS A TITLE I AM GOING INSANE NOW !!!!!!! FEAR!!!!
2/7/22: THERE"S A COVER AND ITS GORGEOUS MY GOD but it went from spring 2022 to december 2022. crying actually please i just want to know what happens to them all
Thank you NetGalley and the publisher for providing me with an ARC.
I am so disappointed with how this series evolved over time. The Last Magician was one of my favorite books when I read the ARC when it was released a few years ago. This book suffers from the same problems I had with books two and three; it is too long, the side characters truly add nothing to the story, and the story is repetitive. From page 206 on I counted 10 instances where a chapter ended with the characters falling into yet another trap set by one of the multiple antagonists. There were more chapters where this occurred before page 206 but I was too lazy to go back and reread to count them all.
By book four I had zero interest in Esta and Harte and their overly dramatic love for each other. There was a whole pregnancy subplot that was added only to be discarded in the second half of the book, Maybe the author forgot about it herself but for how much Harte was concerned about it I am surprised it was never resolved.
The big reveal at the end of the book made books 2 and 3 feel entirely pointless to me but I did enjoy making jokes about how similar the final character reveal was to Bruno from Encanto.
Overall, I wish the Last Magician could have been a standalone.
Here’s a summary of the book: Nibsey captures Harte and Esta, Harte and Esta miraculously escape, REPEAT.

— — — my feelings — — — Oh I have many gripes with this book here we go: 1. WHY WAS IT SO LONG?!? she could have cut the book to 400/500 pages and it wouldn’t have changed the story AT ALL. 2. The Esta-and-Harte romance was shit. WHY ON EARTH DID THE AUTHOR MAKE THE PREGNANCY TROPE SUCH A BIG THING AND THEN FORGET ABOUT IT??? 3. WHY DID THEO HAVE TO DIE ??? He was the BEST character. 4. I do not understand the time travel. AT ALL. IT MAKES NO SENSE. 5. How everyone was miraculously ok at the end. NO. HIGH STAKES=SOMEONE MUST DIE. ...that was a bit of a rant sorry!
———Characters ———
Esta: I don’t really like her anymore and I’m sad about that.
Harte: annoying, overprotective, blah blah blah
Viola: I LOVE VIOLA. MY SMOL QUEEN. PROBABLY MY FAVOURITE CHARACTER.
Ruby: bit pathetic, but the soft to viola’s hard.
Cela: I like her, she’s kind of badass.
Jianyu: meh.
————Quotes———— ...I only found one.
“She made him into a martyr, and the idiots of this world turned him into a saint.”
———Random extra thoughts———
Literally why was this book so long 😭 the first one was so good it had banter, and LIKEABLE CHARACTERS.
Wow, what an amazing end to this series. It's taken me 3 years to finish The Last Magician series and I've enjoyed every bit of it. I remember seeing the first book in a second hand book store in Dallas, Texas with my best friend and I didn't think much when I picked it up. I'm glad I decided to buy it that day. Everything in the story is just so good and interesting. From the characters to the world building. Absolutely loved reading this series and it feels a little weird that I won't have the next one to pick up. But, as we know, all good things must eventually come to an end. If these books weren't so long, I would definitely reread them.
"But fate has thrown its dagger. Perhaps if I reach for the handle, I will not be caught by the blade."
Literally hugged the book when I finished. Some books just make you so happy and this series did not disappoint. I’ve been reading these books for so long and it’s a bitter sweet end. This book was VERY”Timey Wimey” as the Doctor would say but not too difficult to understand. All the characters were so great and I love watching them grow each book. RIP Theo. So sad that such a good man had a sad ending. I love Theo. That ending really hit hard. I can’t believe Dolph came back out of NOWHERE. Like how dare you end with a BANG… literally. “The Magician and the Thief had become something larger and more complete together than either of themhad ever been a part” pg 702

I love this series so much and you can rip it from my cold dead hands. Such a wild conclusion, a satisfying ending, but I didn't cry so it doesn't get 5 stars. Those are the rules.
Build a statue for Esta Filosik. Dolph Saunders you will always be famous. Nibsy Lorcan I will see you in hell. Harte Darrigan for simp of the year. God bless us everyone.
Build a monument for the one and only Esta Filosik. Nominate Harte Darrigan for simp of the year. Make Dolph Saunders famous. And someone make sure Nibsy Lorcan is still burning in hell.
I fell in love with The Last Magician series three years ago, and even now after finishing the finale, I can't believe it's over.
I picked up The Last Magician on a whim at a library one day to read for my literature class. As a tiny little eighth grader, I never could have guessed the impact that this one series would have on me.
This series has been a wild and incredibly exciting rollercoaster of emotions. I've cried, I've laughed, I've probably thrown the book at the wall more than a few times, and I even found myself unexpectedly swooning over the romance & tension between Esta and Harte.
The plot of the entire series has been nothing short of incredible. It has been action-packed and suspenseful, and the worldbuilding is unlike any other I have ever seen or read before. The magic is thrilling. The world itself is riveting. But my love for this series goes far beyond all of that. It goes far beyond the adventure and the thrill I found myself thrown into along with the characters, and even extends far past the anticipation that kept me hanging on until the very last page.
My love for this series is greatly due to my love for these characters. I have never connected with the characters of any book as I have with those of The Last Magician series. Lisa Maxwell did an extraordinary job at making every single character feel so incredibly real. They were so complex and so fleshed out that I could almost pretend they were more than ink on the page in front of me. But what really drew me in was their relationships with one another.
I am the biggest lover of the found family trope, and the way all of these characters developed over the course of the series to finally find home & comfort in each other makes me inexplicably happy. More times than I can count, I found myself wishing that I could be there with them to experience if only half of what they could.
Naturally, Harte Darrigan was one of the first to stand out to me. He is by far my favorite male main character ever. How could he not be? He's the perfect example of the charming, dark, brooding morally grey love interest. But he's also so much more than that. All of the characters in this series are so incredibly complex, but his development throughout the series is so fulfilling. I absolutely meant what I said in the beginning: Harte Darrigan is 100% the greatest simp I have ever seen, and I love him all the more for it. The way he loves and cares for Esta so perfectly without trying to get rid of her own independence? Perfection. I am so in love with him, and it absolutely breaks my heart that he doesn't really exist.
As for Esta, Harte was right. She deserves the world, and more than a thousand lifetimes to go with it. She is absolutely one of the strongest main characters I have ever read about and changed immensely over the course of the series. She went from planning to betray everyone, to only caring about saving Harte, to risking everything for the world and its salvation. She deserves all the happiness in the world and I am beyond happy to know that she finally found her home in Harte (I'm going to cry). I don't even have the words to express how much I love her. All I know is that I want to be Esta Filosik when I grow up.
And then there's Viola Vaccarelli and Jianyu Lee. I would never have guessed the monumental roles they would come to play in the series. While Esta and Harte will always be one of my favorites, they have every bit of my respect. I am so happy that both of them were finally able to find their happiness with Ruby & Cela, respectively, after all that they've been through. They deserve everything good in the world and I am so happy that they finally have the chance to take it.
Now, for the actual finale. Wow. That's genuinely all I have to say. This book was an emotional rollercoaster. My heart was SO happy that Harte and Esta finally came together. They've literally been through so much, especially in this book, and I can say for a fact that I'm guilty of screaming more than once while reading because I was so nervous for them. But in the end it all worked out.
I can definitely say that this series got more complicated as it went on. Sometimes that's a good thing, but in this case, by the end of this book, I was lost. I understood the basics of what was happening, but I was so confused about the whole magic/time relationship and the meaning of Seshat/Thoth that I just started accepting things without really questioning why they were happening. It didn't bother me too much, though, because I was mainly in it for the characters and the relationships they formed along the way. But it would've been so much nicer if the series and plot hadn't been overcomplicated. The first book was perfect. It was easy to follow along with and the plot made sense. But books 2-4 progressively got more complicated, and I kept getting lost in the thickness of the plot. I just would have loved to understand the deeper meanings and implications of everything going on.
Speaking of which, this book was definitely on the longer side, and while I enjoyed every single moment I got with Esta & Harte and the other characters, I was slightly disappointed with the ending.
I feel like the ending was rushed, and I absolutely would have loved to see more of everyone in the epilogue. Harte literally proposed to Esta (which I also thought the proposal scene was a little anticlimactic, if I'm being honest), and she promised they'd get married when everything was over, but there was no mention of that in the epilogue. I would have KILLED to see a wedding scene, even if it was a little further in the future.
But I think what made me the most sad about the ending was that everyone went off on their own separate ways. I was so excited for everyone to finally find each other and really live out that found family trope together. But I was definitely surprised when Viola & Ruby went to Paris, Dolph & his daughter (who isn't Esta, I guess??? which that also made me SO SAD because I was really hoping for a father-daughter meeting between them after we found out he didn't die), and Harte and Esta went to another time (I think?).
I would have killed to have everyone stay in Manhattan in 1902 TOGETHER and find their individual happiness while still maintaining that close sense of family that I loved. I know they all eventually found their happiness, but in my mind, I'm going to pretend that's what happened.
Also, speaking of the whole "Harte and Esta leaving 1902 but supposedly staying in the city" thing... WHAT THE HECK? First of all, I HATE the trope where the main character loses her power more than I hate even someone like Nibsy Lorcan. But then it was revealed that she didn't really lose her affinity and that it just transformed/absorbed into the city around them, which she's now technically trapped in (I also didn't like that and the way the whole ritual worked out). But even worse, she saw the city as it would be in the future, and it's implied that she and Harte went toward it.
WHY COULDN'T EVERYBODY JUST STAY TOGETHER IN 1902 MANHATTAN WITH ALL THEIR AFFINITIES INTACT?
I'm absolutely going to imagine it that way, because I think it's so much better and a million times more perfect. But I can't complain too much. I just think it would have been so perfect if everyone stayed in the city and continued the Devil's Own/the Bella Strega together. Viola and Ruby could have lived happily uptown, Jianyu could still be happy with Cela, Dolph & Esta could have found each other and developed some sort of fulfilling father-daughter relationship (yes, it would be different and not perfect since they lost all that time, but it would've been better than him leaving with the toddler who is technically still Esta but not...), and Harte and Esta could have still lived happily in 1902. They could have gotten married and eventually started a family, with Harte working at the theatre still if he wanted and Esta helping Dolph & Jianyu run the Devil's Own. They could have even found a way to adopt or bring Sammy into the city where he could live with them. IMAGINE HOW PERFECT THAT WOULD HAVE BEEN FOR HARTE TO ADOPT HIS BROTHER. The love he has for Sammy is so perfect that I'm genuinely sad that didn't actually happen.
I'm absolutely going to imagine that everything worked out like that, because to me, it is just so, so perfect.
But regardless of how it ended in reality, this series will always hold such a special place in my heart because of the characters I grew to love along the way. I will always think back on this series fondly and cannot wait for the day where I read it once more to experience the magic all over again :)
rep: lesbian main character, Chinese main character, Black main character, lesbian side character cw: blood, violence, torture, racism
when I first started this book I was like, god this series did not need to be four books. now that i've finished it, I see why the third and fourth books needed to be split HOWEVER >300 pages of this could've been cut from this book. like why did I have to read 300 pages of "we can't run into nibsy [immediately runs into nibsy] [somehow escapes from nibsy] [repeat]." I am not even exaggerating y'all, this was the entire first third of the book,,,
the ending was pretty good tho. I just don't understand why we had to go through so much nothing to get there. (also reading characters refer to harte as the magician made me reminisce abt the first book like the last magician really was so good)
Had to remind myself several times that it's a YA/NA #GasLampFantasy where wasting time waffling about is just as normal as ignoring the usual time travel rules.
I hate to give this rating but this dragged and dragged, the rules of time travel were completely ignored, the magic system stopped making sense and the romances were pretty dull.
I know this sounds like I should be giving it one star but I did still like it lol.
To be honest, you could take out 50% of this book, and it would still have the same plot. This book did not need to be 750 pages long. This series had so much potential, but for how long each book is, the payoff is hardly worth it.
The chapters with Jack Grew or Nibsy/James Lorcan? The majority of them were useless. The chapters where Harte and Esta argue about the same topic? Useless. I skimmed maybe the last 200 pages of this book because I figured I wasn’t missing much anyways.
This book specifically had a lot of repetitive chapters (in terms of what people were doing/arguing about). Basically, characters will get close to getting an artifact, then they either 1) get it then lose it two seconds later; or 2) not get it in the first place.
Everyone in this book should have died due to whatever injury or illness they got. But somehow they all survived? I don’t know how to feel about that. I mean, come on. It’s 1902 for many of the characters. And the person who did die, their death was predictable.
Also, there’s kind of a plot twist at the end, and I hate it. If you read the book, then you know what I’m talking about. It’s probably one of my least favorite tropes. And it wasn’t done right either. It kind of felt like the author needed to get the characters out of the situation and chose an easy but cheap way of doing so.
However, I did enjoy the idea of the book. I really liked how the author used historical events and context to guide the books. The time traveling aspect was the best part since the author did a good job explaining how it works, it’s limits, etc. There are gods involved, but they didn’t feel super annoying.
Overall, I’m disappointed by this series. I wish I enjoyed it more, but alas, I hope other readers enjoyed it.
I was really excited about this book, and honestly it was more of a 3.5 than a 4 just because of nostalgia.
I am 100% sure that I could've skipped the 2nd and 3rd book and straight up read the fourth and understood it without any trouble. This is because I was kind of dissapointed when in the middle of the book EVERYTHING they worked for was thrown into the trash when every single one of the artifacts (and the book too?) completely dissapeared after the first ritual, literally ALL FOR NOTHING. There were some chapters that I considered could've been skipped without problem, so many plots were undeveloped and the majority of them were extremely detailed (which is not bad at all if that's your thing), this was the book that cost me the most getting through from the series.
I wish I could've seen more physical development from Esta and Harte since he was already freed from Seshat by the 1/3 of the book and every single chapter he wanted to go towards her but for some reason he didn't (?). But one of the greatest things of this relationship was the emotional development of these two, we finally got to see some maturity when it came to decision-making and getting to understand their feelings.
I was SO happy when Theo appeared and then... well, you know what happened. Sure, we couldn't have gotten our lesbian plot without it! but he definitely deserved better, he was such a kind soul :( it was SO SAD. But it kind of compensated when I read Ruby and Viola got off to Paris :,)
The chemistry between Jianyu and Cela was AMAZING, I was rooting for them the whole time, even though their plot was kind of short their dynamic was truly marvelous to see.
Last but not least, I think it was really cool to see Dolph Saunders come back from the dead just to kill Nibsy, *that* was such a good plot twist and it brought the OG squad back together. I was going to riot after thinking Esta lose her powers, but not gonna lie, she had us on the first half :)
Can't wait to see what Lisa writes next! She is an incredibly talented writer with such a strong game that kept this going for FOUR books.

The first half of this book was so slow and nothing really happens (seems to be a trend in this series). The first book was so incredible, but the rest of the series was just.... meh. The second and third books were very long and very frustrating because hardly anything happens. Way more time is spent on relationship development than plot development and that gets repetitive and boring. That being said, I still enjoyed the overall plots of the second and third books.
This fourth book however.... went completely off the rails and ruined the whole series. I will still always love the first book but will consider it a stand alone novel and pretend the rest of the series did not happen.
Spoiler time. First of all, the rules created for the world just got thrown out the window. How were there two copies of Dakari's knife? How were there multiple copies of the diary? Why was Esta not unmade as soon as Nibsy died? Even though there was still someone in the future to raise her, her childhood still would have been much different and would have completely changed her memories. Like how she gave Dolph the diary but didn't remember it even though it was the same version of her that was supposed to have done it.
Second of all, so many unresolved endings. Dolph's explanation was barely existent and should have been fleshed out more. And what happened with all the warring factions in the Bowery? How did Tom Lee react when he found out Jianyu went back on his word? That was such a big part of the plot to just be ignored after they got the bracelet off.
I didn't completely hate how it ended but I was hoping for more.

I give this a 2.25. Ms. Maxwell's writing style is a solid "4", but the length and the characters really made this series tedious. Ms. Maxwell is a very talented writer and can keep the reader invested and engaged. Unforunetly, this series was waaaaaay too long, and the characters were idiots. Consistently knowingly walking into trap after trap and being surprised they were caught unawares, (like "Really?!?"), and then being too altruistic when given the opportunity to end the problem on numerouos occasions but no, it would be "wrong" to force somebody's will even though by not doing so risks the entire world!!! Bah!!!! MS Maxwell WAS able to keep the story moving and interesting even though I wanted to shake the main characters like a snow globe until their teeth rattled right out of their idiotic heads.
Unless you enjoy your blood pressure rising due to aggravating irritating characters and ridiculous plot twists to allow them to go forth and even make bigger stupid mistakes, and REALLY want to commit yourself to an excruciating long drawn-out series, (we're talking near 3000 pages here folks) I would not recommend this series, though I would not hesitate to read more of Ms. Maxwell's works and looking forward to see what she has in store for us in the future.
Yeah, I know. I know. Too many pages, I get it, I don't disagree with that.
I haven't read her before this series but I think Lisa Maxwell has the talent to write books with lots of unnecessary pages and still keep the story interesting enough to not make me feel too desperate because is not moving fast enough. I thing is her narrative, I don't know how to describe how it felt feeling like the story could move faster and than some things didn't require paragraphs too long or too many pages but still feeling like it was a necessary part of the experience.
The last 200 pages were my favorites, when the gang was together (I honestly liked the better than The Crows from Six of Crows), and the last 100 pages? Damn, I was always expecting for everything to go wrong, I was at the edge of my seat.
Wow what a dark series that was, for me book 1 and book 4 were my favourites, I’ve enjoyed the magical journey of Esta and the time travel along the way, the final book really took me by surprise I wasn’t expecting it to be as good by the way or time travelling to keep alive
