Things are starting to heat up in the therapy room…for one Russian bad-boy defenseman and his not-so-innocent virgin physical therapist in this steamy hockey love story.
There's a lot more to me than what I've let on in the public eye. -Georg Kolochev, VEGAS CRUSH
No, I don't drink vodka straight from the bottle. I don't pour it over my breakfast cereal either.
I am not in need of an intervention...unless it involves me and a certain blonde bombshell alone in a room with a locking door.
I've done my fair share of partying, I'll admit. And yes, I've built up something of a reputation with the ladies when not on the ice. That's on me for being careless with my posts on social. And I do know what's most important in my life.
Two things.
Hockey...and Pamela Jenson.
My favorite physical therapist needs me so much more than she knows.
Because I am the guy delivering her SIN SHOT.
Yeah, you heard me. I'm her first.
Sinning with Pam has never felt so good.
**SIN SHOT can be read as a complete standalone sports romance. Each book in the Vegas Crush series is about a different couple.
Raine Miller has been reading romance novels since she picked up that first Barbara Cartland book at the tender age of thirteen. And it's a safe bet she'll never stop, because now she writes them too! Granted Raine's stories are edgy enough to turn Ms. Cartland in her grave, but to her way of thinking, a hot, sexy hero never goes out of fashion. A former teacher, she's now writing sexy romance stories full time. She has a handsome prince of a husband, two brilliant sons, and two bouncy Italian Greyhounds to pull her back into the real world if the writing takes her too far away. Her sons know she likes to write stories, but gratefully have never asked to read any, thank God! Raine loves to hear from readers and to chat about the characters in her books. Sin Shot is book 2 in The Vegas Crush Series and just when you think it can’t get any better this author gives us another hot hockey player to get to know and fall in love with. Georg and Pam have an instant attraction as well as some sizzling chemistry but he is a partying manwhore and she has just started work as a physiotherapist for the Crush and we all you should never mix business with pleasure....... As their story unfolds we get to see that the real man beneath that party image is a fun, caring man who loves to flirt and I loved being on this couple’s journey as they flirt, fall in love and work out what is really important in their life’s. I loved the cocky man who is brought to his knees by a funny, sassy independent woman and I loved the woman who really doesn’t know what power she has over the man she has fallen for. It was great catching up with the characters from Crushed but you don’t need to have read that book to enjoy Sin Shot all you need to be is a lover of sports romance. Raine Miller is showing us just how diverse and talented she is with her hockey romance and all I’m going to leave you with is please one click this great read. Can’t wait for who’s next from Crush team
3.5 stars. I’m a huge fan of Raine Miller and all her previous books have been a 5-star read for me, not to mention that this lady wrote one of my all-time favorite love stories with the Blackstone Affair series (still in my top 3). I really wanted to love this book, but sadly it was not enough to make it a great read for me. It's an overall good book and I enjoyed the story, the pacing and the writing style but when all was said and done I ended up just little underwhelmed. Something was missing for me and I might be totally off here but I did not feel the emotion that this author’s work usually conveys to her readers. That’s just my personal opinion...
"I'm only interested in one woman, and she is you."
Pam Jenson is a 24 yr. old single woman who recently moved from Los Angeles to Las Vegas for an amazing career opportunity. She's been hired by the Vegas Crush hockey team to be their newest physical therapist. The only complication is her attraction for the hot Russian bad boy Georg Kolochev. They shared a few steamy moments that she'd never forget, and now she had to put aside her crush on this funny, sweet, beautiful man, and stay professional. Working together prevents them from dating, so he's off limits to her. It would be asking for trouble to break team policy, but the temptation is hard when her work is so hand's on.
Georg Kolochev is playing in the NHL for The Crush in Vegas. He has a reputation as hockey's partying playboy and wants to change his image, and push his career further. While trying to work on himself, he's reunited with a gorgeous blonde he'd hung out with a couple times. She'd made an impact on him, and things with her always felt unfinished. Now Pam Jenson was in his daily life, and he felt like this was his chance to get to know her better and pursue their connection. He decides to go after what he wants, and won't stop till this stunning woman is his.
-Christ, he's a beautiful man.
-Georg affects me differently than all other guys before him.
Sin Shot (Vegas Crush #2) is a sexy standalone sports romance by Raine Miller writing as Brit DeMille. As the delicious hockey god and the woman of his dreams heat things up in the therapy room, chemistry explodes, and we get a fun, flirty, emotional love story.
I enjoyed this fast paced and flirty sports romance. It was my first read in the series and I’m looking forward to reading more.
Here’s what you get: ✔️Total Standalone ✔️Sexy and Flirty ✔️Dynamic characters with great chemistry ✔️Interesting secondary characters ✔️Great tension
Both Pam and Georg have some emotional baggage, but their love story shines through. I had a couple minor concerns with language and pacs, but overall really enjoyed this book. Looking forward to reading Viktor’s story. Fingers crossed he’s next!
Sin Shot is a 5-star moving powerhouse, that will knock you on your ever loving pucked behind! OMG! I was looking from a refreshing read with all the feels, plus some sexy over the top antics and bingo I found it with Sin Shot! Yes, when I say it was the shit! I mean it was the shit and I could not put it down! So, I spent the day totally emersed. Not coming up for air or even leaving my spot on the couch till I was done! Good Lord it was just what I needed to get lost in the Crush world of anything goes! Boom Raine has done it again!!!
Georg and Pamela are the absolute best. He’s cocky, but vulnerable (and has a heart of gold). She’s got a backbone, and so much love to give. Just a great book!
Book two in the series, one that I am enjoying way too much. I love sport romance and this one rocked it. Georg and Pam story is amazing. Georg has a reputation, Pam finds herself wanting him more than on the casual side. Their chemistry is off the charts. This hockey romance will have you reading about the hockey player and the physiotherapist, where lines should not blured, never mix business with pleasure.
Go grab this book and be ready for Georg to melt the ice out from under you with his Bad boy sexy ways.
Raine Miller writing as Brit DeMille in this Vegas Crush series, delivers another Hockey hunk to add your book boyfriend collection.
Georg is rough around the edges and then some but when he sees Pam again, she sparks something in him that makes him want to be a better man for himself & for her.
I love the progression of seeing Georg come to terms with wanting Pam that he will do whatever takes to get himself to be the man she deserves. Pam has her own insecurities and terms to come to and these two together have such an electric chemistry that connects instantly.
There is a good dose of angst, heartache, learning experiences as well as sexy times that makes this story flow so good that once you start reading, you won't be able to put this book down.
Go get this book and find out if Georg & Pam get their HEA while breaking the rules.
Georg was seemingly the comic relief in the first book...Evan's bromance, player, partier, all around good time guy. Pam also was a bit of comic relief in Holly's life, her bestie, her sounding board, love 'em and leave 'em (but yes she has her reasons). You would think that if these two got together it would be nothing but laughs and good times. But both have more on their plates and both have issues they need to deal with. Does Georg have it in him to be with only one woman? Or will his flirty ways end the possibility of a life with Pamela? Does Pam have it in her to leave her past behind, slay the demons that haunt her? Can these two get past the wonderful non-fraternization policy that the Crush so adamantly stress? Lots of steamy moments, lots of fun hockey checks and the wondering...who's story will we see next.
I am loving this series! It's a quick and steamy read with a HEA. Georg and Pamela definitely have chemistry and once Pamela is working for the Crush, they can't ignore it. We got to know them a bit in Crushed but there is so much more beneath the flirt and the playboy. I also love that we get more of Evan and Holly! I love them all! Can't wait for the next book!
I received an advanced copy in exchange for my honest opinion.
I seriously feel honored that I had a chance to read this story before it's release. It's no secret that I adore Raine Miller books. The talent she has for crafting a story is undeniable. I'm never one to give away details in my reviews. All I can say is you have to read Georg and Pamela's book.
Sin Shot is book two in the Vegas Crush series by Brit DeMille and I have read other books by her under her other pen name and LOVED. This series so far has taken me by surprise. I haven't been much of a sports romance fan, it's not a trope that grabs my attention all that much, but every so often I will read a blurb and get intrigued enough to read the books, and this is one of those cases. I loved Crushed (Book 1) and when I had finished it, I was so eager to start this! Raine Miller aka Brit DeMille has always had a way with words. She strings them together to create a hot, steamy and intense romance that you just can't get enough of.
After reading about Pam and Georg, the two main characters in this book in book 1 as secondary characters, I knew I needed to know more about them. I was smitten with them in book one and could read that they had major chemistry together, so when the author announced that they were getting their own book, I was over the moon! I wanted to know how things went down after Pam joined the Crush organization, I wanted to know how they were going to make things work with this no-fraternization rule if they could make it work.
I loved how the author played these characters out. Georg was the party boy, the ladies man, and he never took life too seriously, but when it comes to this one woman, he is willing to change it all, to be the man for her, and Pam is the new team therapist. She's smart, feisty, witty, and a little reserved, she has her own demons that she is fighting and struggling with, she sees herself as broken, and often steps back when it comes to relationships and getting close to anyone. Her childhood and her past played a big factor on why. But Georg sees her for who she truly is, and how incredible she is. She is strong, and she's been through a lot, but she hides it well and even though this thing between her and Georg is something that she normally never let's happen, and goes against everything she believes in, for the first time ever, she can't help but want more, she wants more than a casual root and boot, she wants something deeper with Georg and she was just the girl he needed to tug him back from his partying ways. They bounced off each other perfectly and it was hard not to cheer for them to get a HEA. But will actually get this perfect happy ending? When things start to deepen between the two of them, something keeps getting in their way.
I also loved how well the author wrote the hockey side of it. As I mentioned, I'm not massively into sports romances, but I found myself so hooked on this one. Also mixing in the life outside of the sport... It was fantastic and extremely well written and I can't wait to see where the author takes us next in this series!
I was in a bit of a sports romance mood for a while and saw this one; it’s a hockey romance (my favourite of all the sports), the hero is Russian, it’s a new to me author, it’s free on Kindle Unlimited and finally, but not least, I like the cover model. George is a Russian player who plays defense for a new expansion NHL team who had a hell of a year the year before and won it all. During the summer he had a, shall we say, flirtation, with the heroine Pamela as he calls her, the previous summer but it didn’t go anywhere really. Now she works as a physiotherapist for the team which brings her back into George’s orbit. It turns out that he never forgot her, he just didn’t think she would be really interested in him. He was wrong at the time. But now things have changed somewhat. He had his chance with her and he didn’t take it. They work for the same organization and there are rules against any kind of intimacy and then lastly, he’s in danger of screwing up his opportunity. He drinks too much, he eats way too much junk, he’s known for his partying ways and he doesn’t always turn down the puck bunnies.
But this year George is coming in with a different attitude. He realizes how fortunate he is to be playing for a successful pro hockey team and he slowly begins giving up his wild ways and starts to woo Pamela. She goes by Pam but he always calls her Pamela and that’s one of the things that is getting to her – in a good way. The attraction between them is still there and she sees and appreciates his changing ways but there is still the issue of them working together and she’s not sure what she should do.
This is the second in a series and although it works as a stand-alone, there are a few characters that play large roles in this book and I would have liked to know more of their story. I also get the impression that George and Pam meet in the first book so now I want to go back and read it.
Now that the hockey season has begun, I’m getting into the hockey romance and I’m enjoying it. As I enjoyed this book and happily recommend it.
5 star Review Sin Shot (Vegas Crush #2) by Brit DeMille
The second book in the series and can definitely be read as a stand alone, although since this is only the second book, why not one click Crushed as well.
Georg Kolochev, what a hot and sexy hockey player this man is. I think I may have a new crush, he really ticked the boxes for me and the woman that tamed him Pamela Jenson was the perfect partner for him.
I loved everything about Georg and Pamela, both separately and as a couple. I loved how sassy Pam was and Georg, there is so much more to him than just a hockey player.
Georg has a reputation as a party animal and yet he is instantly attracted to the Vegas Crush’s newest physiotherapist. Pam knows the last thing she should be doing is getting involved with one of the players but their chemistry is intense and she cannot resist Georg.
Seeing familiar faces just added to my reading enjoyment. The banter and the chase as Georg and Pam dance around their feelings was addictive. This is a series that is fast becoming one of my favourites.
Hockey series have become my all time favourite sport to read about and Raine Miller writing as Brit de Mille has certainly raised the bar. I love her style of writing and the story she weaves had me captivated from the first to the last page.
I loved Sin Shot and cannot wait to see which Vegas Crush player is next to get a book.
I loved silly Georg and Pam's love story! "Curious Georg" is what he's known as on social media. Wild, party hard manwhorer. He's goofy at times but has a heart of gold. Evan and him are the dream team on the Vegas Crush hockey team.
When he first met Pam there was an attraction and heat. Both crazy they made the perfect match. In Crushed #1 he and Pam had a few dates but it suddenly came to a halt.
Pam is a sucker for trouble. She may be strong and fiesty but she shys away from relationships and men due to her childhood. You would never know it by her personality. She is the new therapist for Vegas Crush hockey team which means no fraternizing with the players. She is also a sin shot.
When things start to heat up a bucket of ice water is thrown into their relationship.
Loved "the bunny loves you" idea at the Cup!
Cant wait for Red Rocket #3, James and Winter's story.
Ahh I loved this book by my favorite author, Raine Miller writing as Brit DeMille. Even if you are not into hockey like me the romance, sexyness and how these two get it together will captivate you and make this book a page turner. I gotta love Raine's heroines, Pam is a strong woman and knows exactly what she wants. Georg is a very sexy hockey player who have to really get his stuff together in order to get what he wanted. The chemistry between these two was simmering from the beginning. Another perfect read by Raine Miller. Not to be missed.
So far I am loving this series, and in book 2 we get Georg and Pam. Georg is a funny, hard partying manwhore, that is until he meets Pamela. Now she is fisty, independent and funny. I just loved these two together. This book was a great and funny read
Nothing wrong with this story, I just didn't care for either George or Pam in this book or as side characters in the 1st book. Good mix of romance and hockey though.
Buongiorno amiche lettrici. Assolutamente no. Anzi l’esatto opposto!
I received this sexy book for a Blog Tour. My opinions are my own and not influenced because I got this book for free.
I was just absolutely delighted when I got the chance to read this book, I haven't read Vegas Crush #1 yet, but after this one? I am sure will see if I can get it for my Kindle very soon. I want to read how Holly and Evan got together.
In this book our MCs are Georg, a sexy defensive line guy with tons of muscle, and Pam, a sweet girl with a dark past who works at Crush as a physical therapist (yep, she gets to massage and touch tons of hot dudes). These two apparently already met in the previous book we get quite a few reminders of that through the book. On the one hand I was happy that we got those reminders as it gave me a better view on the characters, on the other hand it made me feel like I missed something/missed out. Which is another reason why I want to read book 1. Georg is a tough guy but I loved him from the start. Yes, I wasn't approving of his drinking, but he shows great promise from the start and I was cheering for him to improve several things in his life. He wants to eat better, drink less (or not at all), exercise more. And sure, it doesn't always go well as he tends to go to the bottle if things go wrong, but I could see he was trying. I loved reading about him playing on the ice/field and see how he fought hard for his team. Defending, being a duo with Evan, then there was Victor and how that all ended. And I am normally not a fan of hockey or any sports. But in this one I was eagerly waiting for the matches to happen. Pamela is a sweet girl who has her first job and it is at Crush! She massages the guys, helps them out with physical therapy, makes plans for them if they are injured or need more help. She is a great addition. Learning of her past, oh boy. Normally I wouldn't read a book featuring that, but I didn't know, and luckily it is only mentioned very little, and I could skip most of it. I just can't read books featuring that. I feel very uncomfortable reading it, not sure how to otherwise explain it. Hope it makes sense.
I was a bit frustrated with their romance though, at least in the beginning. They both wanted the other but they kept going on and on how the other wouldn't be interested or talk about the job and how that may get in the way (which I can understand but still argh) or talk how the other would have gone for it if they really wanted them. I was just shaking my Kindle and telling these two to just go for it. That they are both thinking it and that they want each other equally. But the romance picks up eventually and WOW those sex scenes are steamy and graphic. I am still not entirely feeling comfortable reading them (mostly to do with that it is something so intimate and I feel like a voyeur reading about these things), but I am getting more and more used to it and I feel less embarrassed reading them. I loved how Georg acted when he learned of Pamela's virginity, how he took his sweet time, waited until she was really ready (which didn't take too long, but that may have been just a feeling we do know that time passes). He was truly sweet and respected her wishes and also made sure that she was comfortable the entire time.
Of course, as I had expected though it was something totally different from what I had expected, things go dramatic and I was just groaning in frustration. However, I could also understand why Pamela did what she did. Why she decided on that. It made me happy to see things go back to OK and all she did for Georg. Holy, that is just so sweet. I was in tears during that one big moment and then later on some more.
I was delighted with the epilogue and can I just say I am happy with that the author didn't end it on that note. While it would be nice, it just wouldn't fit, in my opinion. Too soon, too fast.
Of course I also loved Holly and Evan and reading about them, seeing them be freaking adorable together. Their cute little baby and Holly carried that little one around so she could work. Aww!
All in all, I had so much fun reading this one. It was cute, swoony, sexy, and oh my so hot at times. Recommended to all!
Sin Shot is the second book in the Vegas Crush hockey series by Brit DeMille aka Raine Miller. It's a sports romance about Georg Kolochev, a sexy bad boy NHL player from Russia, and the team's new sassy physical therapist, Pamela Jenson. We've already met these characters in the first book since Georg is Evan's friend and teammate while Pam is Holly's best friend since childhood. There was an instant physical attraction between these two hinting at a possible next love match. I couldn't wait for Raine to write their story. And let me tell you that she didn't disappoint! Sin Shot was a highly entertaining read with absolutely lovable characters and full of steamy moments.
Georg is a talented and successful hockey player. He plays hard on the ice and parties even harder. His two vices are alcohol and women. Everyone thinks of him as a troublemaker and playboy but that's not all that is to Georg. He loves the sport, his team and Las Vegas - they're his home and the reason why he wants to turn around his life and get healthier and fitter in order to show the world that he is a valuable asset to the Vegas Crush. When a certain blonde bombshell with a feisty attitude starts working there as the new physical therapist keeping focus will suddenly become much harder than he thought possible...
Pamela is an independent and confident woman. Life has taught her to only rely on herself. She also doesn't trust easily, especially men. That's why she is still a virgin although it's difficult to tell since she is anything but shy and reserved. When she lands a job with the Vegas Crush she is very determined to prove herself and stay out of the way of the gorgeous player with long soft hair and beautiful eyes whose Russian accent makes her panties disintegrate. They had a thing back a few months ago but he never called back. That's why Pam assumes that Georg is not interested in her. What she doesn't know is that he wants her badly but thinks that he is not worthy of her love.
Pamela and Georg are both wonderful and very lovable and relatable characters. They have flaws and imperfections like everyone else. I admired Georg for wanting to change his lifestyle in order to be a better person and professional athlete. I loved his banter with Pam and especially how he treated her with respect and adoration. Georg wanted to make their relationship work and turn it into something permanent. I could understand Pamela's reluctance since she was afraid of losing her job because of the non-fraternization rule. It also wasn't easy to be with a man who always has a plathora of women fighting for his attention. But Georg only had eyes for his beauty.
I highly recommend Sin Shot to every fan of this genre and to readers who love strong heroines and protective, possesive Alphas who worship the ground their woman walks on. And let's not forget the sexy hot athletes with a dirty mouth! Raine truly knows how to write an intriguing story and make you fall madly for her protagonists. I'm now looking forward to Scarlett and Viktor's story - Red Rocket. I'm pretty sure that this amazingly talented author is going to blow our socks off. I'm giving Sin Shot 5 stars!
I wanted to read Pam's and Georg's book from the moment I've finished reading Crushed. I love hockey romance but most off all I love Raine Miller. She's one of the most talented writers in this industry. No matter if she writes contemporary romance, historicals or sports romance, she nails it every time. It's impossible to not fall in love with her heroes and heroines. Especially when they are like Pam and Georg.
Georg Kolochev plays defenseman for the Vegas Crush and is the right-hand man and best buddy to Evan Kazmeirowicz, the star winger. While both have always been womenizers, Evan has found his one and only in Holly, the social media manager of their team. Now he's settled down, married to his girl and expecting a baby. While Georg is drinking and partying, reconfirming his already established bad boy image.
But staying on a top NHL team demands discipline and focus, making Georg realize that he needs to change. Well, that's not the only motivation. Another one is a certain blonde, virgin physical therapist named Pam, Holly's best friend. This curvy beauty makes him want to be a better man. A man who deserves her.
Pamela has just recently moved to Vegas, because of her new job as a physical therapist for the Vegas Crush. She's determined to prove that she was the right person to hire but a certain Russian hunk with a cocky personality, dark long hair and green eyes keeps distracting her.
Unable to resist the strong pull between them, both surrender to the temptation breaking the no fraternization rule in the process. But Georg couldn't care less about the consequences because sinning with Pam has never felt so good...
Gosh these two set my kindle on fire! Their chemistry was scorching hot. I loved how Georg was a total different person with Pam. He was sweet, caring and protective. Of course he was possessive too! Especially when his team members hit on Pam. But the most amazing thing about him was how much he cared about her and the way he was gentle with her, knowing that she's a virgin. How could you not fall in love with a guy like him?
Pamela was a strong and independent woman. She was used to being on her own and was avoiding relationships at all cost. Some things from her past branded her and made her not trust men easily. But luckily Georg convinced her to give them a chance. I loved how she supported his career and gave him strength in moments of weekness.
All in all, Sin Shot was a fabulous read I strongly recommend. Pick up this beauty and enjoy watching another sexy Hockey god from the Vegas Crush being brought to his knees by love. I'm seriously addicted to this fantastic series and can't wait for the next book about Scarlett and Viktor. Great job Raine Miller!
Exciting overall idea, poor execution and writing that somehow doesn’t quit gel
This was the first book by the author (Brit deMille/Raine Miller) that I have read. It’s a Hockey Romance, book two in the Vegas Crush series, centered around a fictional hockey team, but it also works well as a standalone.
I was seduced by the description: hot bad boy NHL player with a sexy Russian accent falls in love with the gorgeous physical therapist of the team. Both have some issues and baggage, but they are it for each other. I also liked the critical interrogation of the non-fraternization rule that seems to be applied differently to athletes and support staff.
So why then do I only give 3 stars? It’s actually quite difficult to pin-point, but for one I did not like the “voice” of the author; at times it felt a little immature and inane. The story is told in first person narrative with changing viewpoints from the perspective of the two main protagonists and their thought processes (inner monologue) felt at times (most of the time) quite superficial, sometimes repeating stuff that was obvious from the story and that seemed to reflect more the standpoint of a third person narrator than that of the person experiencing those feelings… This also made the main protagonists appear superficial and not complex and well-rounded enough, a bit on the cartoonish side.
The sex scenes were quite explicit (which I don’t mind), but to my feeling also over-idealized. They had like perfect sex right from the beginning, with no hint of awkwardness or anything, which seems even less believable considering it was her first time.
Another problem for me was imagery, the way things were described, they way words were combined that seemed just somehow slightly off.
So 3 stars for a great overall outline and some exciting detail ideas which didn’t live up to their promise due to poor execution in the writing part and some deficiencies in characterization.
