PACK

Rate this book
Each member of this PACK of 6 stray dogs—and 1 stray man—has a story.

Kindness is usually sweet and mild, but his occasional outbursts of extreme viciousness tell a tale of trauma, vengeance, and redemption. He was raised as a family dog in a loving home…but the good times didn’t last. Kidnapped and forced to fight for survival, Kindness found his own way out. A PACK of vigilantes took him in, and now he helps them put crime under the fang.

PACK is a 7-part comic book series that tells the gritty tale of vigilante dogs on the streets of Brooklyn, where gentrification is king, corruption runs deep, and the only way to stay safe is to assume everyone is on the take. There’s a blurry line between hero and villain in these dark times, but to the PACK it’s simple: Theirs is the only acceptable violence.

But their vigilantism draws attention from the wrong places. Politicians, city planners, press, and police are closing in, looking to end the PACK’s reign of brutal justice. Soon, one rookie cop must try choose a side before it’s too late…

Welcome to Oneshi Press, founded by Jayel Draco and Lynsey G in 2015. Based in the enchanting town of Missoula, Montana, Oneshi Press is an independent publishing powerhouse! 🏞️📚 We create richly illustrated fantasy and sci-fi graphic novels, comics, and art books. Our mission? To explore dark corners, shatter taboos, emphasize progressive ideals, and immerse readers in fully realized worlds, all while offering fair compensation to creators. 🌍🔍💡

In other words—we craft projects that show we care, ones you can feel good about supporting while enjoying the heck out of them! 🎨❤️

Lynsey G, armed with a degree in English and a decade’s worth of experience as an editor, writer, and publisher in academic, online, and mainstream trade publishing, teamed up with Jayel Draco, who has a BFA in illustration and over a decade of experience creating multimedia visual art both as a freelancer and in-house artist. Together, they began collaborating on sequential art stories. Despite their extensive experience and expertise, they couldn’t get their foot in the door with mainstream traditional publishers. Why? Because mainstream comics couldn’t fit their complex, nuanced stories into a pre-existing box. 📚🤝✨

So, Lynsey and Jayel decided to start their own company, where they could publish not only their own unconventional stories but also nuanced work by diverse creators from around the world. 🌏✍️

Our vision is for collaboration over competition, and we show this by publishing the work of other incredible creators right alongside ours! We work with an extremely talented group of contributors and collaborators who help build worlds for you to explore in our semiannual anthologies of short comics and art. 🌟🎨📖

When we say “you’re invited,” we mean that literally. We’re serious about building community, so we let our audience in from the earliest stages of our creative process to the very last. We host a Twitch live-stream where you can watch our co-founder and illustrator, Jayel Draco, as he brings our creative projects to life. You can chat with him as he works on one of our projects: PACK, Tracy Queen, and Children of Gaia! 🖥️🎨👾

We also run a Patreon campaign, where you can get even more involved. As a patron, you can get exclusive first looks at our work, get our publications before anyone else, and take part in our community. 💖📬 And we crowdfund many of our publications, allowing our backers to get in on exclusive rewards and early looks at Oneshi projects. We even host a Discord server just for Oneshi Press fans, followers, and friends! If you care about the world we share, we do, you’re already a part of the community. 🎉🌐💬

This book was great! I just love the characters they are so dynamic and this story was the perfect follow up from Pack 1. I think its cool that each book is telling the backstory of one of the doggy characters so that you get the story a little by little, and I am super glad that book 2 focused on a adorable pit bull pup! I have a friend who has a few rescue pitties and they are the sweetest doggies!!! What some of these dogs go through, and the bad rap they get because of what humans do to them is so unfair, so its awesome to see a comic that is spreading awareness of that! Also this is my first Oneshi book that I have fan art in!
