Wenn ich das Buch mit einem Wort beschreiben müsste wäre es wohl "unnötig". Dieses Buch hat Band 1 mehr geschadet als geholfen, ein Einzelband wäre hier angebrachter gewesen...
Die Autorin hat versucht hier aus Nichts ein Buch zu schreiben (noch dazu ein für dieses Genre vergleichsweise dickes). Daher mangelt es hier nicht bloß an Spannung, sondern auch an sowas wie einem roten Faden und leider auch an Plot.
Ich könnte jetzt nämlich nicht so genau sagen worum es in diesem Buch eigentlich ging. Noch dazu fand ich die Charakterentwicklungen in diesem Buch etwas seltsam. Irgendwie wurde erstmal alles wieder schlimmer (Stichwort Ella´s Familie) um dann wieder besser zu werden. Ganz merkwürdig.
Auch drehte sich alles irgendwie nur um Ella, während Brian nur immer wie ihr treues Hündchen versuchte ihr alles recht zu machen. Auch diese Entwicklung hat mir leider nicht gefallen.
Immerhin war der Schreibstil wieder sehr angenehm und das Buch lies sich schnell lesen. Aber empfehlen würde ich es keineswegs. Lest Band 1 und liebt es, aber tut am besten so als ob es Band 2 nicht gäbe.

Dieses Buch war leider eine Enttäuschung, und das aus vielerlei Gründen. Zunächst einmal gilt, wie bei leider so vielen Fortsetzungen zu abgeschlossenen Büchern, dass man dieses Buch lieber nicht geschrieben hätte, weil man nicht wirklich etwas zu erzählen hatte.
Die Hauptthemen in diesem Buch sind zum einen die Streitigkeiten in der Familie von Ella und noch viel wichtiger ist ihre Unsicherheit wegen ihres vernarbten Körpers. Ihre Beziehung mit Brian? Ihr Körper ist voller Narben und das kann er doch nicht wirklich mögen. Sie ist Thema in der Presse? Oh, die Leute sehen doch nur ihre Narben. Natürlich ist es ein sehr wichtiges Thema für sie, aber damit lässt sich kein Buch füllen - zumindest nicht, wenn es dem Vorgänger ebenbürtig sein soll.
Abgesehen davon schien für mich alles nur Kulisse für Ellas Komplexe zu sein. Es wurden endlos viele Themen angeschnitten, die Spannung einbrachten, aber nur kurzzeitig. Da waren kleine Presseskandale bei, die ich auch sehr spannend fand, aber das war anscheinend nicht die Geschichte, die man weiterverfolgen wollte. Dann gibt es zig Prominente, die kommen und gehen und keine Rolle spielen.
Eigentlich spielt hier nichts eine Rolle. Ella besucht ihren Arzt und ihre Therapeutin, aber davon wird höchstens nachträglich berichtet. Ihr Blog ist erfolgreich, so wie auch Brians Karriere als Schauspieler eigentlich unverändert weitergeht. Brian und Ella haben Millionen von Fans, aber die äußern sich auch nur über ein paar Kommentare und Fanpost.
Warum heißt es eigentlich Cinder & Ella, wenn es hier doch nur um Ella geht? Brian macht nämlich nicht wirklich irgendwas. Man sieht ihn an Ellas Seite, wie er sie immer unterstützt und seine Gefühle beteuert - was nie etwas an Ellas Meinung oder Verhalten ändert - und seine endlose Geduld und Liebe unter Beweis stellt. Man sieht nichts von seinem Leben als Schauspieler und Promi; all diese Dinge werden immer nur von anderen Personen beschrieben, aber man bekommt leider überhaupt kein Gefühl dafür.
Letztendlich war das Buch lang und langweilig. Brian und Ellas Beziehung verlief süß, aber ohne viel Spannung. Die Spannung, die in der ersten Hälfte des Buches aufkam, ging zwischen dem irrelevanten Geplänkel verloren und kehrte nie zurück. Erinnert ihr euch an den herzzerreißenden Moment im ersten Buch, als Ellas Vater sagte, er hätte all ihre Bücher gespendet? Auch die signierten mit all den Erinnerungen an das jeweilige Ereignis? Hier entpuppt sich der Vater als heimlicher Leser, aber seine Tat von damals wird mit keinem Wort erwähnt. Eine Person, die gern liest, würde doch niemals die Bücher eines Anderen weggeben, oder? Da hat man doch viel mehr Verständnis! :D

Cinder & Ella: Happily Ever After was pretty unnecessary yet adorable, fluffy little sequel which I would recommend for fans of the first instalment. Without doubt, this book wasn't at all as great as the first one, yet it was charming and made me laugh and smile and just enjoy its fluff. Cinder & Ella is one of those books you should read when you're in the mood for something romantic and completely cheesy in fairytale like fashion yet also with some more serious themes. Don't expect realism, this is a Cinderella retelling after all! So while the sequel did not surpass book one, it was actually more enjoable read then I expected, because my expectations weren't set very high.
Yes, it's basically plotless as I've feared and way too long (could've been more than 100 pages shorter), sometimes over the top cheesy (you know, it's kind of to be expected after title and cover like that) and not as fantastically snarky as book one, but I think that the annotation sounds way more dramatic and angsty than the book actually is! After reading the annotation, I feared that there will be loads of relationship drama and misunderstandings between Ella and Brian, so I was pleasantly surprised when there was none of that. Brian is self-centered and spoiled sometimes, sure, yet when it comes to Ella he is always there for her, supporting her in every decision and helping her gain more confidence if needed.
“Since my accident, I’d given up on the possibility of ever having a moment like this. I didn’t think anyone would ever be able to accept me for what I am and love me despite my flaws. Yet, here Brian was, and he wasn’t just doing this to humor me or make me feel better. He wanted this. Wanted me.”
Unfortunately, this one wasn't as centered on family dynamics (which was quite possibly my favourite theme in book one) and all the problems with Ella's father felt like creating drama for the sake of making at least some plot out of it, but in reality it ruined all the progress they made in the first book. It was really back and forth with them here and didn't always feel natural like it did before. Nor was it as centered on friendships - Vivian's colorful and fun character got completely lost here - her dads weren't even present. Though, on the other hand, I loved the progression of Ella and Ana's (her stepsister's) relationship. The story mostly centered on the romance, Ella's transition to adulthood, accepting her flaws and therefore herself.
All in all, while this book felt like way too long epilogue or additional novella of some sort to Cinder & Ella, it was still very enjoyble read for all fans of the first story out there! So if you loved the first book, just grab this one. It's the perfect relaxing read: supply yourself with loads of chocolate, make yourself comfy and read this book. It's pure fluff and fun.

Honestly, I'm pretty excited about this book, but also wary of it. Because the first Cinder & Ella book was supposed to be a standalone re-telling and was wrapped up nicely. I feel like this sequel could be a huge mistake. I don't think that there's enough of interesting things to scrape into this one and make a great plot out of it. The annotation kind of sounds like lots of angst and drama and that it'll be focused only on the romance. While the first book was hugely focused on Ella's accident and its impact on her body and mind, family issues, making new friendships, and only then on the romance. And while I'm interested in this book, I also feel like maybe it's unnecessary.
Hopefully, I'll be proven wrong and will fall in love with this as much as I did with the first instalment. Just please, no stupid relationship drama! So yeah, this is one of the situations where I really hope I'm wrong.

Für mich kommt der zweite Teil leider gar nicht an den ersten ran. Nichts desto trotz hat mir der Schreibstil von Kelly Oram richtig gut gefallen und ich fand es interessant noch einmal von Cinder und Ella zu hören und zu erfahren wie es mit ihnen weiter geht.

Happily Ever After es el segundo y ultimo libro en narrar la historia de Ella y Brian.
Desde que conoci la existencia de esta continuacion me senti dividida, por un lado quede con ganas de saber mas sobre la vida de Ellamara pero por otro lado no veia del todo necesaria esta segunda parte.
La primera tuvo un final un poco precipitado pero aun asi no veia el sentido a escribir otro libro, quizas con un epilogo largo hubiera bastado.
Este segundo libro es muy diferente a Cinder & Ella, no tiene casi nada de drama, ademas de ser sencillo y agradable de leer pero pese a eso fue una lectura que no me transmitio lo mismo que el primer libro, Cinder & Ella fue una historia hermosa y con sentimiento pero esta continuacion aunque entretenida, no me parecio que estuviera a la altura.
Las tres estrellas son principalmente porque me hizo reir en varias ocasiones ( especialmente Brian y su sentido del humor ) y porque no me resulto pesado de leer, aun asi admito que no me hubiera importado que hubiera sido mas corto, algunos capitulos no aportaban casi nada a la historia y solo sentia que daban vueltas y vueltas respecto a lo mismo.
En Cinder & Ella conoci a un personaje muy detestable y en esta segunda parte me siguio cayendo igual de mal, no importa lo que digan, el Sr Coleman no tiene ninguna justificacion y solo se merecia que Ella lo mandara al infierno de una vez por todas pero por desgracia Kelly Oram creo a una Ella demasiado buena.
En fin, Happily Ever After fue una novela ligera y divertida pero no alcanzo a ser tan memorable como su antecesora.
P.D : Me encanto el cameo de Elle y Seth, siguen siendo tan adorables como recordaba.

Okay, an Band 1 reicht es definitiv nicht heran, so viel sei schon mal gesagt. Aber trotzdem fand ich es total süß und ich habe es geliebt, die Charaktere wieder zu treffen. Der Grundgedanke zu erzählen, was nach dem Ende vom ersten Teil passiert, wie Cinder und Ella mit dem Rummel um sich leben und wie sie weiter zusammen wachsen, fand ich toll. Vielleicht lief alles ein wenig zu idealistisch ab. Es war schon auch viel romantischer Kitsch dabei. Aber süßer romantischer Kitsch.

Ah! Finally I finished this series. Even though Cinder & Ella ended in HEA, I just have to read the sequel.
Happily Ever After is a nice story beyween Brian and Ella. We get to see how their romance and love grow as a couple. It is sweet. There is drama between Ella and her father at the beginning. I want to see more drama/ plot of how Brian's fame affecting their relationship. I want to feel their connection more intense.
Despite the moderate drama, the story ends up wonderful and enjoyable.

Unnötig.
Manche Geschichten sollten einfach mit dem ersten Band enden. Das hier, ist so eine. Ich fand den Band durch und durch langweilig und von Spannung kann ich bei bestem Willen nicht sprechen. Ich hätte gut darauf verzichten können. Daher leider nur einen Stern.

Inhalt: Endlich sind Cinder aka Brian und Ella ein Paar. Doch trotz der großen Verliebtheit gibt es einige Hindernisse und Alltagssituationen zu meistern. Immerhin ist Eric ein bekannter Schauspieler. Natürlich ist die Öffentlichkeit nun auch an Ella interessiert. Schafft sie es dem Druck standzuhalten und auch die Familienprobleme zu lösen?
Meinung: Zum Cover muss ich sagen, dass mir das Deutsche besser als das Original gefällt. Es harmoniert perfekt mit dem ersten Band. Übersetzt wurde das Buch von Fabienne Pfeiffer. Der Schreibstil war toll. Obwohl ich den ersten Band vor 1 1/2 Jahren gelesen habe, war ich sofort wieder in der Geschichte drin. Ich habe von vielen gehört, dass sie von dieser Fortsetzung enttäuscht waren. Ich fand sie toll. Die Zeiten von der Heimlichtuerei um Cinders Identität und die Annäherung zwischen den beiden ist vorbei. Man erfährt hier, wie sich die Beziehung der beiden weiter entwickelt. Mir hat es gefallen zu sehen, wie sich alles weiter entwickelt. Immerhin waren einige offene Fragen nach Band eins übrig: Wie geht es Ella gesundheitlich? Wie geht die Beziehung zwischen Ella und Cinder weiter? Wie entwickelt sich Ellas neue Familie? Und natürlich, wie geht Ella mit der neugewonnenen Aufmerksamkeit um? Wie der absolut passende Titel „Happy End - Und dann?“ schon fragt, erfährt man hier, wie es nach dem Happy End weitergeht. Ella hat sich überhaupt nicht verändert. Stand im ersten Band noch ihr Kampf sich in ihrem neuen Leben zurecht zu finden im Vordergrund, geht es nun eher um die Beziehung zu Brian. Man erkennt gut, wie sie sich im ersten Band entwickelt hat . Den Unterschied kann man nun deutlich sehen. Aber auch hier im zweiten Band macht sie nochmal eine tolle Entwicklung durch. Das Thema Schönheit und Selbstakzeptanz zieht sich durchs ganze Buch. Ich finde es toll, dass sich mit so etwas auseinander gesetzt wird. Die Geschichte wird nicht nur aus Ellas Sicht erzählt sonder auch aus Brians. So erhält man auch nochmal einen Einblick in seine Gedanken- und Gefühlswelt. Der Schauspieler ist immer noch so charmant und liebenswürdig wie in Band eins. Die beiden sind für mich das perfekte Paar!
Fazit: Eine tolle Fortsetzung. Wer Band eins geliebt hat und nun wissen möchte, wie es nach einem Happy End weiter geht, ist hier genau richtig. Man begleitet das Paar durch seinen neuen Alltag und wie es mit Problemen umgeht. Die Message, die mit eingebaut worden ist, ist toll.

Mir hat es gefallen zu sehen, wie sich alles weiter entwickelt. Immerhin waren einige offene Fragen nach Band eins übrig: Wie geht es Ella gesundheitlich? Wie geht die Beziehung zwischen Ella und Cinder weiter? Wie entwickelt sich Ellas neue Familie? Und natürlich, wie geht Ella mit der neugewonnenen Aufmerksamkeit um? Wie der absolut passende Titel „Happy End - Und dann?“ schon fragt, erfährt man hier, wie es nach dem Happy End weitergeht. Ella hat sich überhaupt nicht verändert. Stand im ersten Band noch ihr Kampf sich in ihrem neuen Leben zurecht zu finden im Vordergrund, geht es nun eher um die Beziehung zu Brian. Man erkennt gut, wie sie sich im ersten Band entwickelt hat . Den Unterschied kann man nun deutlich sehen. Aber auch hier im zweiten Band macht sie nochmal eine tolle Entwicklung durch. Das Thema Schönheit und Selbstakzeptanz zieht sich durchs ganze Buch. Ich finde es toll, dass sich mit so etwas auseinander gesetzt wird. Die Geschichte wird nicht nur aus Ellas Sicht erzählt sonder auch aus Brians. So erhält man auch nochmal einen Einblick in seine Gedanken- und Gefühlswelt. Der Schauspieler ist immer noch so charmant und liebenswürdig wie in Band eins. Die beiden sind für mich das perfekte Paar!
Fazit: Eine tolle Fortsetzung. Wer Band eins geliebt hat und nun wissen möchte, wie es nach einem Happy End weiter geht, ist hier genau richtig. Man begleitet das Paar durch seinen neuen Alltag und wie es mit Problemen umgeht. Die Message, die mit eingebaut worden ist, ist toll.

In der Widmung steht: „Für Karie, weil dieses Buch wirklich ganz allein deine Schuld ist.“ Nun, das merkt man vielleicht ein bisschen, denn für den zweiten Teil von Cinder & Ella gab es eigentlich keinen so richtigen Grund, weil sie ja mit einem Happy End endet.
Worum geht es also? Die erste Hälfte handelt vor allem von Ellas sehr angespannte Beziehung zu ihrem Vater, darum wie sie mit ihrem neuen Ruhm und ihrem Leben in der Öffentlichkeit umgeht und wie sie ihre Zukunft an Brians Seite gestalten möchte. Ab der zweiten Hälfte des Buches geht es dann um ihre Selbstverwirklichung und die Stärkung ihres körperlichen Selbstbewusstseins.
Brian steht wie auch in Band 1 eher an zweiter Stelle. Ich habe dieses Mal jedoch überraschenderweise viel lieber seine Kapitel gelesen, weil er für mich einfach viel authentischer, echter und schlichtweg nahbarer war als Ella. Ella ist noch so jung, sagt und tut trotzdem immer das richtige, begeht keine Fehler und ist sehr reflektiert. Das erschien mir manchmal etwas unglaubwürdig. Brian dagegen beleidigt auch mal ihren Vater, ist impulsiv oder scherzt an falscher Stelle. Ich fand seine Sicht auf die Dinge nicht immer zu 100% richtig, aber nachvollziehbar. Er ist, obwohl er der „heiße Star“ ist, doch eben der Typ von nebenan. Paradox, dass die beiden hier so stark die Rollen wechseln. Das Buch hätte man getrost an jeder Stelle weglegen können, weil es durch die oben beschriebenen Themen eben nicht so spannungsreich ist, wie beispielsweise eine Trennung der beiden. Die beiden sind sich ihrer Liebe so sicher, planen alles gemeinsam durch, unterstützen sich und reden miteinander (na, klingelt da was Hardin&Tessa?), sodass man sich nie Sorgen machen musste, dass ihre Beziehung daran zerbrechen würde. Es hat sich dennoch einfach schön gelesen, war oft sehr lustig und wer mehr von dem besten Partner der Welt und Ella lesen möchte, ist hier genau richtig. Ich glaube ich würde das Buch auch jeder jüngeren Leserin ans Herz legen, um ihr zu zeigen, was es heißt in einer gesunden Beziehung zu leben.

So after my first week of exams ended, I decided to treat myself and spent the last two days devouring this book.
Man, when was there ever a book by Kelly Oram that I didn't love??
Her books have a certain charm about them, and I am unashamed to admit that I am so addicted to her books!
They are my go-to books when I'm in a reading slump or just need some fluff to reset my brain!
And this book wasn't exactly fluff. It is the sequel to Cinder & Ella.
Ellamara Rodriguez gets into a car accident that kills her mother and burns 70% of Ella's body, leaving serious physical and emotional scars.
Both books are about Ella's struggle and the progress she makes coping with herself and her situation. This one is significantly darker and more emotional than the first. But it was so well done in my opinion! Ella's struggle was genuine and to see her overcome all the obstacles life shoved in her was was beautiful! And to see Brian fighting along side her the whole entire time was so beautiful, too!
Ladies, Brain Oliver wins boyfriend-of-the-year award!! You all have to meet him!!

The part at the movie theater with the older perverted man really made me uncomfortable.
Like I don't remember the last time I was that uncomfortable reading a scene in a book. I keep thinking I read that scene a dream because it couldn't have possibly been real. And it was real! The fact that it was in a book didn't make it any less real because this shit actually exists in our world and worse! That fact the our work is actually that fucked up is disturbing!! All the same, I'm glad it was in there, if only to bring awareness to the fact that there are some seriously fucked up people out there! And I do not throw around the f-bomb lightly.....at least not online hehe
Maybe I'm just stupid, but I got way too excited during Seth and Ellie's cameo....way too excited. But I just LOVE cameos and Easter eggs!
I loved Ana in this book :) I would have liked to see more of Vivian, though!

DNF: Leider liest sich die Fortsetzung wie ein komplett anderes Buch mit ganz anderen Charaktern. Brian ist einfach nur unglaublich unsympathisch, die Handlung wirkt an den Haaren herbeigezogen, übertrieben dramatisch und unfassbar vorhersehbar. Ich habe nach etwa einem Drittel aufgegeben, weil kaum etwas passiert ist außer viel künstlichem Drama. Mir fehlt die emotionale Tiefe vom Vorgängerband.

I thought the second book was going to better than the first because the author was going to have to face reality... OF COURSE NOT.
In Cinder&Ella universe movie stars do absolutely nothing. They don't have to work, they don't have to travel. They just sit around all day texting their girlfriend. Oh, and also they bitch about how hard it is to be a celebrity, how they long to be a normal person. Because of course, people who don't want to be famous become famous.
In Cinder&Ella universe when you have a boyfriend you absolutely love, who is gorgeous, rich and a movie star, you don't pick the phone when he texts you. Because... let him wait. Sure, you're not curious at all what the love of your life has to say. Especially if all you do is stare at the wall all day (srsly Ella does absolutely nothing at all: no studying, no hobbies, no job).
My biggest beef with this book is the absolute lack of character arc. Ella is just as bitchy and whiny as she was in the first book. Only now she has a millionaire boyfriend, her book blog becomes super-popular because of his celebrity status and his assistant makes it into a profitable business. So Ella doesn't have to do anything at all ever. No education, no job needed, no effort. You'll be famous and rich effortlessly, by way of accepting life's gifts. Yuck!
The description of Cinder and Ella's relationship is over the top. So okay, Ella wants to stay a virgin until marriage. Fine. But people who want that don't share beds with their boyfriends getting to third base, like, every night. If you repeatedly do that, the unfulfilled physical desire either dwindles, or it wasn't even there in the first place. The description of Cinder turning into a cave-man the minute Ella finally agrees to drop her panties is laughable. It makes me think Kelly Oram has never experienced physical desire and generally doesn't get how human motivation works.
These two books were such a disappointment, such a load of trash I am SO never reading another Kelly Oram book EVER. From what I've seen in the blurb, V is for Virgin is basically the same load of bullshit, just re-packaged.

The second book is also a good book but not as good as the first one. Ella and Cinder are now a couple. But pretty soon it’s clear that Dad does not like Cinder and he shows it. But the stepmother and sisters like him. So on Xmas they take the family to a privat film viewing arranged by Cinders Dad and it ends in a big disaster. Ellas Dad accused Cinder to be bad for his family and also Ella. He gets into a rage and is very hurtful to Ella, because as usual he sticks to his wife and stepdaughters without thinking of Ella. Ella is devastated and cuts ties with her father and his wife. How to move on from that? At first she moves into Cinders house, but the house is not easy to handle with her disabilities. He wants to buy a new house and she needs to find herself, live on her own for a while. So the book is about Ella getting over her insecurities, finding back a way to her family and making her own carrier.
It was really good. And most of the book you hate the father but you get to know some people who will step up for Ella. It was a really good book, but I liked the first one a little bit better than the second one.

Ich fand den ersten Teil noch eine Spur besser, als diesen hier. Doch trotz allem hat es mir wieder gut gefallen in diese Geschichte rund um Cinder & Ella einzutauchen.

Ich war anfangs auch skeptisch ob es mir gefallen wird. Ich fands gut aber nicht überagent es fehlte der wow Effekt und ich war dankbar das ich über die Hälfte hörbuch gehört hatte. Anfangs fand ichs toll nochmal in cinda und ella ein zu tauchen aber in endeffekt ging es darum wie sie mit dem rum umgeht und er wollte sie ins Bett kriegen b.z.w. hat drauf gewartet. Sie hat sich mit ihrem vater verkracht und zieht zu cinder da ihr Vater sich sorgen machte ob sie mit dem Ruhm überhaupt klar kommt sie wurde mit ihren Stiefschwestern Anfangs in ein Shoppingcenter verarscht von einen Journalisten der sich als neue Bekanntschaft einschleust bei den Mädels obwohl er nur alles über Elle wissen wollte und sie gefilmt hatte und das nachher veröffentlicht hat und von da an war sie in gefahr und ihr Vater machte sich Sorgen. Wie gesagt Anfangs war es gut und nachher zog es sich wie Kaugummi fand es teils auch oberflächlich. Ich glaub ich geb dem Ganzen nur 3/5 Sterne.

When I saw this book was on Audible and it was in the Audible Escape I about had a moment. Lol.
I was hooked from the first book the story of Cinder & Ella stole my heart. I had to relisten to the first book I loved it so much then and now.
This book was exactly what I needed when I finished the first book, it gave us all our favorite characters but also gave us closure. We get a little from the first book but I always felt like the story wasn’t done yet.
I loved that the characters our main and our secondary are exactly as they are from book one. Sometimes there is a different narrator or what have you and the magic of the first book doesn’t come through in the second but I am so very glad it did. I am so excited to listen to more books by this author because I also noticed there are more in Audible Escape so you KNOW I am going to be all over those.
The narration was AMAZING. I want more books narrated by Kirsten Leigh because she brings so much to the words. Her inflection, the way she makes the characters have their own voices. It’s a gift. Thank you for your talent.

What happens after Ella finds her prince? Well, Kelly Oram has a Hollywood theory about it and I happen to like it. Cinder & Ella are awesome. And although Cinder is not the easiest person to be around, he treats Ella so respectful concerning how far she's willing to go with the relationship. He's awfully pushy sometimes and wants to get her to do the whole standard relationship package - marriage, house and a cat. When they've been together for days. So, he's not as perfect as Ella makes him out to be but I still loved every second of this book. Will definetly be back!

Es war so schön, wieder in die Welt von den beiden einzutauchen und ihre Schlagabtauschenmitzuerleben. Die Autorin stellt die entstehende Situation sehr wahrheitsgetreu dar und ich habe mich noch ein bisschen mehr in die beiden verliebt.
Trotz allem kam er für mich nicht ganz an den ersten Teil ran, weshalb ich einen halben Stern abziehe.

Nachdem ich viele eher enttäuschte Meinungen über diese Fortsetzung gehört habe, habe ich beschlossen, ihr trotzdem endlich eine Chance geben. Mit nicht allzu großen Erwartungen bin ich also in das Hörbuch eingestiegen und muss sagen, dass ich absolut begeistert bin.
Es war unglaublich schön, wieder in die Welt von Cinder & Ella zu tauchen und mit den beiden mitzufiebern. Der ganze Schmerz, der noch immer nicht überwunden ist, die Spannungen durch eine öffentliche Beziehung, der Umgang mit den Medien, Belästigung und Betrug, der Weg in die Zukunft: All das erfahren wir hier und das in Kombination mit unserem zuckersüßen Paar.
Ich liebe die beiden einfach nur. Mehr kann ich dazu nicht sagen.

The second half of the Cinder & Ella story picks up and continues on with the ups and downs of our hero and heroine's life. We learn more about her father and how he justified abandoning his daughter, and we watch her deal with the fame of being the girlfriend of a star. Meanwhile she has to deal with everyone's drama while she tries to heal.
Throughout the whole story their love stays strong and doesn't waver for a second. This I love. What I don't love is the lakes of tears our heroine and her family sheds. I understand that they are warranted and I understand that what she has to deal with is horrendous, but as soon as you hit a spot that says how she won't cry, or she never cries, or any mention of the heartbreak she suffers without tears, the tears follow. Please, if your character is going to sob, let her or him. Don't feel you have to preface it with how they never give into the weakness. It's not a weakness to cry.
Other than that its a good ending to a wonderful story. I like that the heroine finds her strength along with the one's she loves.

If I had a wish, then it would be...
Kelly Oram is one of my favorite writers. Her books make me laugh and cry and smile and swoon. This one was no exception. Happily Ever After a great books with a fabulous story line and awesome message.
I just wish it was a little cleaner. I know, I know... for a new adult title this is on the clean side but I don't read much new adult because I like my books clean. I like things left to the imagination instead of spelled out on the page. I like humor but not crudeness. I don't mind a little innuendo or a little language but this one had a little more than I am comfortable with so to me this is far from a clean read even though there is no actual sex scene on the pages.

Kelly Oram is one of my favorite writers. Her books make me laugh and cry and smile and swoon. This one was no exception. Happily Ever After a great books with a fabulous story line and awesome message.
I just wish it was a little cleaner. I know, I know... for a new adult title this is on the clean side but I don't read much new adult because I like my books clean. I like things left to the imagination instead of spelled out on the page. I like humor but not crudeness. I don't mind a little innuendo or a little language but this one had a little more than I am comfortable with so to me this is far from a clean read even though there is no actual sex scene on the pages.

Leider kommt Band 2 nicht an das erste Buch heran, was mich im letzten Jahr vollkommen verzaubert hat! Cinder & Ella hat die perfekte Mischung gehabt zwischen erster, wundervoller Liebe und einem tragischen Schicksal der Protagonistin. Band 2 ist eine nette Zusatzgeschichte, aber hätte nicht sein müssen! Ella hat die ganze Zeit Komplexe wegen ihres Körpers und gefühlt hat sie gar nichts anderes im Kopf. Mir hat die Entwicklung ihrer Karriere auch nicht wirklich zugesagt. Zudem hat mich ihre Liebesbeziehung zu Brian in diesem Buch leider nicht mehr so packen können. Es ist definitiv kein schlechtes Buch und ich bereue es nicht es gelesen haben, aber etwas herausragendes und besonderes war es leider nicht.

ES KOMMT LEIDER NICHT AN DEN ERSTEN TEIL HERAN
Nachdem der erste Band mich echt verzaubern konnte, wusste ich, dass ich wieder zurück in die Welt von Brian und Ella wollte und erfahren musste, wie es weitergeht. Ich muss sagen, durch den Klappentext bekam ich echt Angst, dass die Beiden bzw. Ella den ganzen Trubel nicht standhalten können und sich trennen werden.
SCHREIBSTIL
Auch hier begleitet einem ein angenehmer Schreibstil durchs ganze Buch, auch wenn mir ein paar Rechtschreibfehler oder fehlende Wörter aufgefallen sind. Die Gespräche sind locker und flüssig.
Das Buch ist aus der Sicht von Ella, wie auch aus Brians Sicht geschrieben worden - über Brians Perspektiven habe ich mich sehr gefreut, denn ich mochte ihn als Charakter einfach unglaublich gerne.
CHARAKTERE
Ella hat auch in diesem Folgeband mit vielem zu Kämpfen - erst bricht ein Streit mit ihrer Familie aus, dann zieht sie aus und dem Ganzen folgt auch die Bekanntheit, die ihr jetzt bevorsteht. Sie hat immer noch ordentlich damit zu kämpfen, ihre Narben und sich selbst akzeptieren zu lernen. Sie ist ziemlich zaghaft, was die Intimität zu Brian angeht und auch einiges Mal sehr Scheu. Das Einzige was ich hier nicht mochte, war, dass Ella meinte, sie Beiden befinden sich auf vollkommen verschiedenen Ebenen im Leben und nicht damit umgehen könnte, dass er so Erwachsen ist.. Ich kann verstehen, dass sie ganz viele Erfahrungen sammeln möchte und sie sich erstmal an alles gewöhnen muss, aber er kann sich doch trotzdem so reif und erwachsen aufführen, wie er nun mal zurzeit herangewachsen ist. Alles in Allem ist Ella aber eine starke und kämpferische Frau, der einfach schon viel zugestoßen ist und der ich dieses Glück einfach gönne.
Brian ist ein herzensguter Mann und dies merkt man in diesem Band noch viel stärker. Ich finde es wunderschön, wie er mit Ella, ihren Narben und ihrer Selbstzweifel umgeht. Im Laufe des ganzen Buches drängt er sich ihr kein einziges Mal auf, bleibt stehts sehr behutsam mit ihr und akzeptiert all ihre Entscheidungen. Auch wenn man ihm ganz gewiss anmerkt, wie sehr er sich immer wieder bremsen muss vor Verlangen, geschieht hier nichts, was Ella nicht auch will. So muss es auch definitiv sein. Brian haut immer wieder berührende und wahre Aussagen raus, die ich genauso unterschreiben würde. Über ihn könnte ich die ganze Zeit schwärmen!
Zusammen sind die beiden einfach nur ein Traumpaar und zum Dahinschmelzen. Immer wieder süß, wenn sie miteinander Späße machen.
Die Charakterentwicklungen und auch die Entwicklungen der Beziehungen zwischen Ella und ihrer Familie waren sehr gut zu erkennen und etwas, was mich froh stimmen konnte.

Dieses Cover passt unglaublich gut zum ersten Band. Der Hintergrund ist weiß und im Vordergrund stehen die Blumen, alles in rosa Farben gehalten, es zieht den Blick nur so auf sich.
FAZIT
Nach monatelangem rein lesen und doch wieder zur Seite legen habe ich das Buch dann auch beendet. Es kommt leider nicht an den ersten Teil heran. Für den gelungenen Schreibstil, den vereinzelten süßen Szenen und auch das widerspiegeln der Realität, wie schwer es ist sich selbst zu akzeptieren, gibt es 3 Sterne, sonst war es sehr langatmig und das Ende vom ersten Band wäre ein gelungener Abschluss, bei dem man keine Fortsetzung mehr gebraucht hätte.
In diesem Buch passiert nicht viel, man erlebt wie Brian und Ella, aber vor allem Ella, die negativen und auch schönen Seiten im Rampenlicht bewältigen und den schwierigen Kampf von Ella sich selbst zu akzeptieren und zu lieben. Dies fand ich gerade gut zu thematisieren, denn es spiegelt einfach das wahre Lieben wider. Wer gerne nochmal was über die Interaktionen zwischen Brian und Ella lesen möchte, der ist hier richtig, aber sonst war es mir einfach zu langatmig, da waren die 500 Seiten, die das Buch hatte, leider auch nicht gerade hilfreich.
Band eins war für mich ein unglaublich tolles Leseerlebnis und ich werde mich immer wieder mit einem Lächeln und guten Gefühlen an Brian und Ella zurückerinnern!

Retomamos la historia donde lo dejamos. Ha pasado una semana y Brian y Ella apenas están comenzando a disfrutar de su relación como pareja pero aún tienen mucho que superar. Después de su encuentro en la alfombra roja, Brian y Ella están ahora en el punto de mira de los fans y los paparazzi, son la pareja más buscada de Hollywood, aunque ambos prefieren mantener un perfil bajo para intentar conservar en lo posible la intimidad de Ella. Tanto Ella como su familia tendrán que lidiar con las consecuencias de la reciente fama de la pareja y como esta puede afectarlos a todos ellos, lo que resentirá la ya frágil dinámica familiar en casa y sobre todo la relación de Ella con su padre.
Todo en esta historia se centra en Ella, desde como se enfrenta a su reciente fama, al acoso de los medios, a su relación con Brian, y sobre todo como inicia su vida como adulta independiente e intenta recuperar la seguridad en sí misma que perdió con el accidente. Aparte de la historia de amor entre la pareja, el libro se centra en Ella, en la aceptación u superación de las secuelas físicas y psicológicas que el accidente dejó en ella.
Ella es un personaje complicado, y en ocasiones algo contradictorio, pues a pesar de sus complejos e inseguridades es una mujer de fuerte carácter y convicciones, pero a la vez sigue siendo la misma chica tímida e insegura que conocimos en el primer libro, sus miedos son muy profundos y aunque lo quiere todo y más con Brian, no está todavía preparada para ello. Pero por otra parte también podremos ver a una Ella distinta, más fuerte, con más carácter que de vez en cuando lo muestra al mundo. Ella tendrá que empezar a lidiar con los efectos tanto positivos como negativos que la fama traerá con ella.
Brian en este desenlace me ha dado más la sensación de ser un secundario que un personaje protagonista. Nos encontramos con el perfecto caballero y veremos como se desvive por Ella, la protege y la cuida como nadie, pero respetando su espacio y sin agobiarla, animándola a hacer las cosas que le gustan y que ella se cohíbe de hacer a causa de su incapacidad y sus miedos. Brian adora a Ella y sabrá respetar sus tiempos y el espacio que esta necesita para sentirse cómoda. Por otra parte su relación con Ella cambiara la imagen que tenían de él en Hollywood, lo que le abrirá puertas en el trabajo que darán un impulso a su carrera como actor.
La relación y conexión de ambos protagonistas es increíble y preciosa, todo un cuento de hadas, lleno de armonía y amor, aunque para mi gusto le ha faltado una escena donde tanto Brian como Ella den rienda suelta a la pasión tanto tiempo contenida.
También veremos como evolucionará la complicada relación de Ella con Juliette y Anastasia, sus hermanastras y sobre todo con su padre.
Al igual que en el anterior libro la pluma de la autora es sencilla, amena y ágil, podría haberlo leído perfectamente en un día si no fuera por el poco tiempo que estoy teniendo este último mes para dedicar a la lectura. Tiene trescientas cuarenta y ocho páginas divididas en un prólogo y treinta capítulos y epílogo. Como en la primera entrega la narración corre a cargo de los dos protagonistas en primera persona, lo que nos permitirá conocer los sentimientos y puntos de vista de ambos, algo que me ha parecido un acierto, ya que el grueso de la historia se centra en Ella y así Brian tiene pocas oportunidades de compartir su sentir y su punto de vista con el lector.
En Felices para siempre nos encontramos con una historia de amor llena de lucha, superación y de sentimientos, en la que nuestra protagonista deberá luchar contra los demonios que la atormentan para aceptarse a sí misma y conseguir la vida que desea para ser feliz para siempre.

Ya know what is worse than third-wheeling with people in real life? Third-wheeling it with characters in a book.
But hey, I'm a sucker for the Green Bay Packers so of course I stayed up late finishing.
This is a sequel in almost every sense of the word. It depends entirely on the first book. It has no plot. It has no villain. And it spends 342 pages wrapping up all those pesky loose ends from the first book. Like…
Or how about...
Wait, was that character a famous Hollywood person named Harvey? * whisper, like Harvey Weinstein? * Either that didn’t age well, or it was unintentional and…well, still didn’t age well.
It is hard to know what to say about this book because I feel like a hater for complaining about what basically everyone wants out of their favorite novel: a sequel entirely about the main couple being in love and doing lovely-dovey things and choosing one another over their respective parents…and schmoozing Hollywood people as the new IT couple.
Except Cinder & Ella wasn’t my favorite novel. And even if it were, reading about a 19-year-old deciding whether or not to sleep with her boyfriend of, um, *looks at notes* one week, is not my cup of tea.
In the first book, I described Cinder as two parts wish-fulfillment, one part spoiled brat, and one part Character Change Due To The Love Interest. Except in this book, he drops the "Character Change Due to the Love Interest" because there is no character change for him. He is the cookie cutter image of a teenage girl's dream celebrity boyfriend. He is a millionaire, has hot, famous actor friends, has plenty of time to hang out, even when on a shoot, and spends every waking moment kissing the ground you walk on and daydreaming about getting married, having kids, and living with your forever.
Whew. Hold me back. (No, seriously, I kind of want to run away screaming.)
Besides some contrived family drama and the 'oh hey now you are a celebrity now,' the story has two plot points: Ella learning to love her scars (which was...the first book?) and being held back from having sex with her boyfriend because she is afraid of showing him her scars. While that first part at least sounds maybe vaguely empowering, most of the time I felt like I was reading a textbook on consent. "Can I kiss you? Nodding isn't good enough. Say yes. No, say specifically what you are saying yes to..."
I mean, it is great and all and I laud it or whatever but also...ew? I don't want to know?
The scars thing got wrapped up well, I guess, but drawn out as it is (really) the only tension holding the book up. (Seriously, this book already lacked interesting drama, and every. single. thing. works out perfectly.)
And...to speak vaguely...the water nymph photos sounded awful, like art at a truck stop.
The first book flirted with PG13. This book flirts with R, though never goes there. It was not my cup of tea but I guess it wasn't terrible.

As always, Kelly Oram books come as a mixed bag for me.
5 stars for the storyline, the characters who I have grown to love. Kelly does a magnificent job of giving me more than just a story. Her characters have depth and personality. There is struggle and empowerment. So good.
BUT. Ugh. This book isn't clean. I wish it were so I could easily recommend it to everyone. It's a personal preference to be sure. So, . . .
1 star for some of the extra content. Swearing (more than just a few times), sexual situations, talk about sex, some crass talk about sex, innuendo. There are no actual sex scenes.
