Whether they are ready or not, the people are about to find out what the Queen’s promise is worth.
When Bethany Anne stepped down as Empress, she swore to return if the Federation was ever in danger from outside evil.
That time has come.
Bethany Anne’s refusal to be restricted by the impossible has made her plan to protect the Federation a reality, and the return of the Superdreadnought Reynolds brings a long-awaited reunion and an opportunity.
Pulling together old friends and family members from all over the Federation and…beyond, Bethany Anne is ready to leave the Interdiction to build a military whose numbers can rival the Ookens.
Bethany Anne is in fine form, as are her family: biological and adopted. Things are being put in place, and Gödel is influencing events from afar once again. There’s not as much action in this book, as we see things being prepared for the final battle. Another riveting read, and I hope that we don’t have too long until the next book is released.
This was typical of the 'comic book' space opera that I have come to expect from this series Some of it was fairly entertaining, unfortunately quite a bit was either boring or nonsensical. I keep reading the books because after 21 Kurtherian Gambit and 8 Kurtherian Endgame books, I feel I need to get to the end, I just wish it would arrive soon.
This book was all over the place. All over the galaxy actually. Thecharacters all always jumping around. You o lyget a couple of li es explanation about who is dojng what where. It all gets very confusing. The queen used to be so much fun. Well, she isnt anymore andthus book cries outfor aneditor. I ve read all the books and all the collections. The last few BA have been less than stellar.
Maybe Michael needs to realize he cant do it all, and choose his priorities. Because IMHO, his last 3 or 4 BA sucked.
Michael Anderson has done it again! Taken us for a joyride throughout the Federation Universe with lots of laughs, justice and family love. What a whirlwind this book is, fast paced action and quite descriptive that the reader can see everything happening in their mind. Can’t wait to read more!
Well, I've just finished reading this and, for the first time, it took me days to finish. Not because I lacked interest, but for the exact opposite!
I actually had to read it right through twice!
It's been a little while since I read the previous book in this series, with a lot of other books between, and, due to my memory problems, I'd forgotten a lot of the details of it, so my first read through with this particular story felt a bit sketchy - and so that's when I decided to read it through once again, the minute I finished it - and I'm so glad that I did, as there were parts I had missed, and nuances to the story that became more obvious to me in that second read.
As is usual with a BA story, this was a wonderful mix of dark humour, battles galore and, what made me even happier, a gathering together of all my fave characters - and, of course, the wedding at the end was definitely the icing on the cake!
I admit to shedding a tear reading it - both times!
I absolutely love all of the books that Michael Anderle wrote on his own, especially these BA and Michael ones, but I'm so very happy that he got together with so many wonderful authors, to make the whole experience of reading the Kurtherian Universe books the amazing journey that it's become for me.
And, wonder of wonders, my reading list has told me that I can keep reading on with these Endgame books - how awesome is that?
Michael Anderle's supreme heroine former Federation Empress and bringer of Justice to the Universe Bethany Anne is back from the Interdiction, to mete out retribution to Kurtherian invaders the Ooken, as promised to her subjects and loyal followers. We also get to learn more about (her and husband), Michael who's back with a bang, plus their twins, (now grown up) Alex and Gabriel, while BA, with ADAM, Eve and the also returned AI Reynolds, her alien advisors, await the arrival of Skip from the edges of Federation Space borders, (where he and his crew have battled against Ooken scout fighters), with up-to-date intel and in readiness to decide what their battle plans should be, in the ultimate council of war. Like slipping into a favourite pair of old jeans and Doc Martens, having BA, Michael and the rest of her family and friends back in action is both heart-warming and exciting in the possibilities ahead, now the gang is back in business. Get Return of the Queen, Book 8 in Michael Anderle's magnificent space opera series, The Kurtherian Endgame to get you to Infinity and beyond... prepare for lift-off in 3-2-1....!
I love The character of Bethany Ann.I loved! Love! Love! This book. It was back to form for Michael. This book had everything action, Snark, and great interaction between the characters. It contained old characters and new The book has varied situations, different locales and situations that make you cheer, laugh and may possibly bring a tear to your eye. Some may complain that it did not move the story forward so much but that’s the way life truly is everything doesn’t happen bing bang boom. The way this book was written makes the world more believable and more lively because everything isn’t just action. You really care about the characters and what happened to them, and nobody died. This book had action sequences interspersed between the downtimes for the characters that’s what happens in real life. Waiting eagerly for the next book, I hope it’s as good as this one was.
Awesome!! The kids are grown up, the family morning is back to get her and I don’t just mean BAs immediate family but all those who have taken the fight with her to rid the universe of the kurtherians. Reynolds and his new crew are finally home, TH, Bad Company and so many more.. You will not want to miss out on this! If your new to the serious purchase this amazing book and than hold off on ready and buy the 1st book and get ready for an awesome ride!! Now for Michael (and I don’t mean BAs hubby but Mr. A himself) do not think to stop now!!! The show must continue!! Dude the mission has not been accomplished!! I don’t want to divulge any spoilers here but BAs promise to rid the world of certain species has not been fulfilled. AD Aeternitatem,
Well this book did not disappoint in story or characters. I have loved these books/characters from the first page of the first book. Okay that being said, the only complaint if complaint can actually be used in this regard is, since the first book of Endgame there are two characters that I hove hoped will show up again. I am kind of surprised they haven’t but keep hoping. One is Yuko and the other is Boris. I do LOVE this universe and will continue to read the books. I hope to see other spin offs and existing ones that will have many books in the future. So looking forward to Ethric Researcher.
***** This seemed like such a long wait but it was all worth it. I've missed BA and her family. There isn't as much action and battles in this installment but there is a lot of story building for what's to come, plenty of time with the original team, lots of emotions with friends and family. I never thought I would be excited and wait anxiously for a sci-fi book but here you have it...not only did I wait but I enjoyed every moment I spent reading this. Kudos Mr. Anderle!!! Can't wait until the next one. Of course sooner than later would be greatly appreciated.
Definitely continue this arc. If you haven’t read any of the KG series before, then crawl out from under that rock you’ve been self isolating with, and join the fans of Bethany Ann in demanding more. And, MA, you’re not alone...we are waiting. Need we rouse the lawn faeries and the fanatics to get your attention? Be very careful for the mostly washed masses are stirring at the mere thought of another BA series. For the uninformed, A VERY GOOD READ!!!!!
Well, Michael, you did it again. Ya sucked me in and now here I am waiting for "The Death of G****". When am I going to learn that you never 'finish' a story in 1 book? OK, so when is the next one coming out or, maybe I should ask, how many more books are there going to be in the ENDGAME series? I have read EVERY book in the series and have enjoyed them IMMENSELY! I hate to wait for the next book in ANY series! So, how long will I have to wait, Huh? Huh? Please tell me it won't be long :(. Anyway, thanks for listening and keep up those writing skills!
With respect to Sir Elton John for the tag above but it fits! B.A., is back with a vengeance. The Interdiction is moving into actions, the Rangers are reestablished, Reynolds is back, the Twins are all grown up and out of VR Pod Docs. If that's not enough for you there's a wedding! That's as much as I can say without spoilers. For the love of all that's good and right read this book! If you're new to this series, Start with Death Becomes here, it will solve your pandemic bordum!
Michael has blinded the fast-paced battle action he is very good at with the telltale signs of plot shifting. He’s now working the angles of Bethany and dealing with children, friends, life and not just about finding the correct way to use our power. It seems our society is at a crossroads. We need to make some systemic changes, much like Bethany and is making changes within her universe. I don’t mean in a violent way but in a way that is permanent and we get rid of systematic racism. I know how BA feels about it.
I am so glad I got to spend time with some of my favorite characters, ever! I could not put it down. I highly recommend the Kurtherian Gambit series to anyone who likes SciFi/Paranormal/Military fiction. This series, and all of the associated spinoffs, have some of everything for each reader. The plot is excellent, the reading flows, and it’s over too soon.
Michael has done it again. I feel like all sorts of storylines have opened up and we are on the frontier just like when BA was getting ready to go into space. What a ride. Can't wait to see where this goes. We get to see the old gang getting back together and see our new friends becoming part of the team. BA is back and the Kurtherians are not going to know what is coming.
Mike has a way if weaving story arcs together that tie them into the great over arc in the sky. Meaning: regardless of how many mooks are killed or how many people have their own version of a "come to Jesus" moment, he never loses sight of what's truly important. People. Love. Loss. Humanity. I sincerely hope that this series goes on for a long time. There are 7 cock juggling thunder cunts who need to be dealt with, after all.
Been what feels like she's between book 7 & 8. Great way to the together several storylines at once and get everyone together for great memorable life event. Looking forward to the progression of this whole story arc. As always a great story with just enough action with just the right amount of humor about life in general that we can all relate with. Are we there yet with book 9?
This may have been a bit slower than some of the books but it takes time to develop some other characters which I like. I love the interaction between the kids and Bethany Anne but I would like to see some more of what the bitches are busy doing with their new powers. I think that we just can't get enough. The side dishes are just not enough for this audience we want main courses all around. You keep writing and we will keep reading.
As always i was not disappointed. After what seemed like forever since book seven, Bethany Ann has returned to kick butt and she's brought her kids. The only complaint I have is that I read it too fast and now start waiting for the next book. Keep the books co!ing as the queen is nowhere near finished and the readers are not ready for her adventure to be over
I don't write reviews. But I decided to do this one because I'm not done with the story! I've read all the books, some of them twice. I liked the vampire to alien enhanced humans transition that started it up. Good balance of war and human relationships. Bethany Ann drives the story, with help of course. Keep the humor, I like the smile. Looking forward to the rest of the books. Cheers
I love how BA is going about protecting the Federation without getting bogged down by the political game. And she still finds time for her extended family. It's good to see Alexis and Gabriel put their years of training in the Pod-Vids to good use. I hope we will be able to continue to see BA's war against the Kurtherians continue and that she will be able to rescue more species from them and find homes for them.
This KU library selection is a continuation of the series as Bethany Anne reveals her proximity to the Federation. The Kurtherians are now led by one of the Seven who has ascended, but chooses to stay to increase her sphere of absolute power and control. A new ranger outpost is established to search out trouble and to look for a viable home for the Collective. It's all coming together for a powerful conclusion. And book nine is up next.
The Kutherian Endgame series like it's progenitor the Kutherian Gambit. Just draws you in so fantastic is it's storyline. I just love this series. Not only because it's a great series. But because much to Michael Anderle's astonishment. The original series the Kutherian gambit inspired so many other authors. To ask him if they could write stories that take place in the the Kutherian gambit universe. Thus giving us so many more stories to read!
Every time BA thinks she’s going to have the time to figure things out without some catastrophe happening…guess what. Poop hits the fan. Every time. The kid are out of the vid doc pods, all grown up and ready to jump into the fight. And there is plenty of fight to go around. On top of the Ookan threat we have an insurrection to deal with. The bright spot? We have a wedding!
Bethany Ann's back with all the old crew and a few new ones. Couldn't put down, stayed up all night finishing. Some from the original series who have gone on to have series of there own, have reunited with the queen in a page turner. Hope to see more of the adventures of the bitch s, AIs, the FDG and the kids. And of course, Bethany Ann and Michael.
I've been reading about Bethany Anne's life since it began in 2017 and I hope it never ends!!! Michael Anderle is one of my favorite authors sharing a place along side Robert Heinlein and Isaac Asimov just to name a couple. Howard S (the S stands for super fan)
The Queen has returned, long live the Queen! Seriously, any book with BA is a winner. But when you bring in large segments of the family and toss in a mystery and fight or two, there is nothing but pure, unadulterated enjoyment. Please, for all that is holy Michael, keep them coming!!
Dead Michael, please continue writing about Bethany Anne! We meer mortals need her in our lives. Perhaps you could weave in a federation wide pandemic engineered by the despicable Kurtherians? Weave our real life distress into a fictional plot. If you can't write about Bethany and Michael, perhaps Alexis and Gabriel instead?
