This is the second book in the series, Very Personal Training.
When personal trainer Sam bumps into his favorite former client, their chemistry reignites instantly. Leigh is everything he pictured in his sometime-down-the-road woman. Sexy, funny, independent, mature—in more ways than one. He never cared about their age gap, he just wasn’t ready to get serious before. He’s ready now. But when his prior playboy ways come back to bite him in the ass, it’ll take more than sizzling sex and charm to convince Leigh to stick around.
Leigh's life is humming along according to plan. Her custom bakery is thriving. Her daughter is a well-adjusted ten-year-old. Romance is the one area that’s lacking. Completely. Until the universe fulfills her request for some hot lovin’ and puts Sam in her path—for a second time. Sam gives her exactly what she was missing, and more. Maybe more than her well-structured life plan can handle…
This book can be read as a standalone story. No cliffhangers. Guaranteed happily-ever-afters! This book is intended for adult readers only. Visit the author's website for content notes about all of her books.
Karla grew up in a small town on the north shore of Lake Erie. She trained and worked in the fashion industry for over two decades, before embracing the writing muse. When she's not writing romance, Karla loves spending time with her family, friends, and pets, reading romance novels, and playing online Scrabble.
It was okay. That's what the 2 stars rating is meant for, right? I was looking forward to read more from the author's work as I've loved all previous books she published so I got this one on release day. I expected sexy and playful romance, however I've found this story overloaded by sex. (Now I'm sure some of you will get this as an incentive to grab the book, if so, I hope it'll be a hit for you!) Don't get me wrong, I do love my books steamy, I just couldn't find any interest for neither characters, there wasn't much room to learn about either of them as I felt each new scene was a set up for a new sex scene and so on. A friend wisely provided the following analogy : "Like a chocolate chip cookie without enough cookie to hold it together." Full disclosure, I've read up to 45% and ended skimming until the end. Could be my reading mood has taken a hit because of the weird times we're curently experiencing, or could be this book just wasn't my jam. Either way, I'm still looking forward to read more from Karla Doyle in the future.

Sorry, you lost me after this disgusting bit of information about the hero
“Still, he’d gotten lucky that HPV was the wakeup call he’d received. Especially considering all the times he’d shrugged off protection over the years. He’d been a real dick with his dick.”
Leigh an older woman single, Mom owns a bakery and appears a shy woman when Sam pursues her. But Leigh is strong and an alpha in the bedroom that goes for what she wants, and does not play with games when Sam's past comes up. But she did have to make a choice of following her own plans or being open to changing them and getting a HEA with a young sexy man, and his beautiful baby that could be her child and be a sibling to her daughter. Sam is a young gym trainer who was a player, but after a scare he is wanting a romantic relationship. He goes after Leigh a former client who he fell for but knew it was not appropriate to pursue at the time. But he has changes his act and tries to prove to Leigh to be his forever love. Its not east when his past consequences keep coming up. But he adapts to the best he can and offers his heart to Leigh and her daughter. These 2 had a good love story and the twist was a bump in the relationship. I actually liked Leigh's ex/friend when he supported her. I wonder if he will get a romance along with Brian's (book 1 Mc) brother in book 3 with the new physical therapist.
Sam knows Leigh could be someone special to him if she'd only let him in! A sexy younger man/older woman romance- I have not read this trope very often but it was really good. These 2 have real life issues to work through. Very smexy, some angst and no cheating.
I love how two people who love each other managed to overcome all odds and become together! I love a good happily ever after. I was almost afraid there was no good ending whenever they separated for a bit. They persevered and became a happy family!
