J’ai pas autant accroché au personnage principal que ça. Il y a beaucoup de thème mais pas vraiment de leçons de vie qu’on pourrait en retirer… Ce qui m’a touché les plus c’est la relation entre Akiko et son chat ✨
パンとスープとネコ日和 (Thai translated version "วันที่เหมาะกับขนมปัง ซุป และแมว)
I haven't had this type of reading experience in years, the "I can not put this book down until I finish it" type of feeling. This is the type of book I want to write. I started reading this book this morning, and could not put it down. I was reading while eating my meal and drinking water, that was how much I like this book. I always love Japanese books because I love the light, simple, and sincere feelings that I get from reading them, a very different style from Thai literature. This book is about Akiko, a woman in her 50s who decided to change her mom's isakaya-style restaurant ( after her mom passed away) to a simplistic, restaurant with only two menus, sandwich and soup with the help of Shima chan and the support of her cat, Taro. The story is so simple, yet very well written. I felt like I was eating a sponge cake while reading this book, it was a light, sweet, simple feeling that I couldn't really explain. Akiko's life is not filled with roses and rainbows, however. Her mom passed away, and her father cheated on his wife with her mother. Akiko has never met her father (which he already has passed away), and it has left her a scar that is hard to explain, even she could not explain what she feels about her existence sometimes. I think the lesson we can learn from this book is that; in our life, there is always going to be bad experience or something we want to forget, and that sometimes make us forget that there are still so many peasant memories as well. The author could have written this as a depressing story (which would be very easy due to the character's background and some events in the story). Yet, the author presented this story in a very sweet, simple, but memorable way. Although there are some very heartbroken scenes in the story, I really respect how Akiko views and handles her situation. I LOVE THIS BOOK AND WOULD 10/10 RECOMMEND IT TO EVERYONE! :D
