It's the second round of Shizuku and Issei's battle. Yutaka invoked the image of the Mona Lisa when describing the Second Apostle in his will, and the two of them have three weeks to identify the wine and its vintage. In order to cultivate his internal "thirst" for wine, Issei decides to go on a backpacking trip across the deserts of China—while Shizuku is asked by mystery writer Maiko Natsuyagi to investigate a label-less bottle of wine, sent to her with a threatening letter.

Tadashi Agi, 亜樹直, is the penname of Yuko and Shin Kibayashi, a sister and brother team of Japanese manga storywriters. Shin Kibayashi also uses the pseudonyms Seimaru Amagi and Yuya Aoki.

OMG this continues to be so delightfully over-the-top! Tomine realises he needs to dig deep to win, so he goes to the Taklamakan Desert (!!!) to have adventures and sleep with a gorgeous woman and also taste some serendipitous wine, all of which helps him to discover the Second Apostle! Meanwhile Our Hero does his best but loses because his best is not yet good enough -- he has a long way to go to be a true master of wine like his father was.

So much fun, with little touching notes here and there, but mostly just very entertaining.

I switched to the French translation to fill in the gap between the English Vols. 4 and 5. Yeah, my French suuuuucks. I'm probably only getting about 25% but it doesn't seem worth the trouble to type in and Google translate each line.
