A bear shifter in need of redemption. A mate in need of revenge.

Something called to Gunner. Something he could not describe. A need to go into the mountains.

He’d heeded the call even though he had no idea what he’d find. Certainly, he’d never expected to find his mate. Gunner had long stopped hoping she would walk into his life. Not that Sadie did walk into his life. She crawled, on all fours, determined to get down off the mountain and avenge the death of her friend.

But Gunner knew revenge led to ruin and death. Could he protect his mate from harm, even if that harm was self-inflicted?

They’d killed her friend and mentor.

Sadie couldn’t get the image of Professor Augustine, lying in a pool of his own blood, out of her head. No matter how dangerous it was she had to avenge his death and bring those responsible to justice.

But who could she trust?

Should she believe in the man—bear—who had found her in the mountains? Should she believe him when he calls her mate and tells her they are meant to be together forever?

It all seems impossible. Sadie had accepted she would always be alone. People confused her. They said one thing and meant another.

But when she was with Gunner, everything made sense.

Gunner is hiding from his own birthday party. Sadie was in desperate need of help when Gunner finds her on the mountain. Great roller coaster ride of intrigue and danger. The army buddies band together to solve a mystery and save Sadie. Loved the furry karmic smackdown. Laughed, cried and cheered on these heroes. I can’t wait for the next book.

What on earth?

No character/emotional development. It was so bizarre. Within seconds he’s telling her all his secrets and (SPOILER) that they’re ‘mates’ and she’s just like...cool, me too? It was too ridiculous, it’s not even sappy love story ridiculous? It’s not that the characters are shallow, the story writing itself lacks any depth? I hate writing reviews without reading the whole story but I had to break often and skip parts just so I could follow the plot rather than follow the characters.

Brilliant

Gunner (Silverback Redemption Book 1) by Harmony Raines. Something was telling Gunner, a Silverback bear shifter, to go up the mountain. When there he finds an unconscious woman, his mate. Sadie had concussion but when she came round she tells gunner that she has a very serious problem concerning the place where she works. Gunner enlists the help of his 3 friends Patrick, Jason and Killian.

Action!

A great story that's full of action, but what can you expect from men who shift into bears at will. There is a little bit of sexual content but it doesn't take away from the main story. I would say readers of at least teenage will enjoy. And shifters, they'll always keep you warm and interested in those long cold nights.r

I really enjoyed Gunner and Sadie’s story. As with most shifter stories there is insta-love without much question. Sadie takes the existence of shifters really well. I guess considering her circumstances she doesn’t have a choice but to trust Gunner and his friends. I can’t wait to read the next story in the series.

An older bear shifter and his group of friends wish to help anyone they can, because their mated have never been found.

Gunner is the first of them to find his mate, collapsed in the mountain, injured, with criminals after her. Gunner knows that he and his friends have a good chance of finding and stopping the men after her. And his buddies agree. Let the uproar begin.

Good story

I really like HR. She writes good stories and this was a good one. It had some twists and turns and was a decent mystery. My only complaint is that's not how helicopters work. They burn fuel and anytime you can shut it down to conserve fuel you do. Otherwise I liked this story.

Never a disappointment

I don't think I've ever been disappointed by a Harmony Raines book. She writes about love and battles and everything just flows and works out in the long run. Each book has unique characters that mesh themselves together so well and the storylines always blend from one book to the next.

Gunner and Sadie

You're at your own birthday party and your gut tells you to haul as up a mountain side. What do you do? Like any good bear, you head up the mountain side....... Where you find what you wished for. Love shifters? Love Harmony Raines? Do I recommend? Heck ya!!

Rescue

Saddie is lost on the mountain after her helicopter crashes. Gunner didn't want a birthday party, he wanted to be on the mountain. When Gunner meets Saddie, that's the true crash!

Not very steamy

I enjoyed reading Gunner's story. It was a sweet story but not very steamy. Haven't read Harmony Rained in a while but I thought they were not so PG13.

This was an okay book. I didn't dislike it, but there were a lot of scenes that felt like they were just page fillers and not actually helping the story in any way.

GUNNER is the first title in the Silverback Redemption series, a spin-off from the Return to Bear Creek/Bear Bluff world. I love connecting series, to be able to step back into a world that I’m comfortable with, where I know many of the secondary characters from their own stories is a special treat for me. To also see that Ms. Raines is embracing the idea of the new-ish genre of Seasoned Romance (couples both over 35) is something I’m really, truly enjoying. This is not her first “Silverback” series and I hope to see more to come.

Gunner and his friends have moved to Bear Creek to start over, each for a slightly different reason. They seek redemption, in their own minds, by taking care of those in need within their community. None have found their mate, and at this point in their lives believe they probably will not so serving, giving to others is their mission now. Gunner is about to be drawn to the high points of the mountains surrounding their town, in search of something his bear knows is there waiting for them, in trouble and needing them – he is about to run into his mate, Sadie, and she is definitely in a heap of trouble.

GUNNER is fast-paced, with an intriguing introduction story of a woman temporarily on the run seeking revenge or justice for what has happened to her mentor, her friend. She’s never known of Shifters but her mind is open, even if the scientist within wonders “how is this possible”. She’s down at the moment, but she’s strong, stubborn and determined to get answers.

I loved Gunner and Sadie together – they heal each other in ways only those who truly love us can. Sizzling chemistry for sure, but at the core, they like and trust each other instinctively (on Sadie’s part for she’s unfamiliar with the mate bond). I am so looking forward to Gunner’s friends’ stories to come, this is a tight group of men who would lay down their lives for each other – or tease each other unmercifully when needed. I loved seeing old friends once again, and Fiona never ceases to bring a smile to my face with her fierceness and her strength in any situation. If you enjoy Shifter Romance and are ready to start on a new adventure, then I’d highly recommend GUNNER and the rest of the series to come. I’m hooked once again and loving it.

I read this title through my Kindle Unlimited subscription.

**********Contains Spoilers**********

I really enjoyed this book. I liked the connection between Gunnar and Sadie. Fate sure knew what it was doing matching these two especially when Sadie was in danger and needed help to finish her mentor Professor Augustine’s work since he was k*lled for his discovery. Gunnar and his three friends Patrick, Killian and Jason do good deeds to help those in need and are known as the Silverback Saviors around town. It’s Gunnar’s birthday but spent only 5 minutes at his party before he’s over peopling and goes out to his shed to finish the work on the car the he purchased and upgraded for a single mum Jodie whose car broke down and she can’t afford to fix it and really needs to get to and from Bear Bluff Hospital each day where she works as a nurse. Jason comes out to his shed to get him as he needs to blow out the candles on his cake that Rianne lovingly made and so many people want to thank him for everything they’ve done. Gunnar reluctantly goes inside as he doesn’t like praise as the Silverback Saviors don’t need any recognition for their good deeds. After the party he shifts and goes for a run up the mountains where he finds his mate who’s hurt pretty badly and thinks she’s hallucinating but still has a conversation with his Bear. Sadie asks Gunnar’s Bear if there’s a way down the mountain without calling the authorities or mountain rescue so he starts to lead her down the mountain as Gunnar realises that she must be on the run and then she hands the Bear the backpack she was holding and tells him to get it to the authorities as her mentor d*ed for the information and promptly passes out. Gunnar rings Jason who arrives on the back of Fiona’s dragon with Kit in tow since Jason knows that Sadie needs medical attention. Sadie and Gunnar with the help from the other Silverback Saviors go back to Professor Augustine’s house to find the final key to unlock the code from the Professor’s Floppy Disk and then call the local authorities and report the Professor’s mu*der. I’m looking forward to reading Patrick’s story next. I’d definitely recommend this book, series, universe and author to everyone.

A new Bear Creek series! Yay!

And what a start this is. All 4 of these bear shifters are fantastic! We meet Gunner in this story. He doesn't believe he deserves a happy ever after, but he still longs to meet his mate. When he does, Sadie is more than he had hoped for! She is on the run and is introduced to bear shifters pretty quickly. I love how positive this story is. The rest of the members of his crew are so very supportive. The pace is fast, the tone is upbeat and the storyline is character oriented with some action and some steamy scenes. The characters are vivid and endearing. I can't wait to see what happens with Patrick, who is next!

If you have not read anything by Harmony Raines, this is a great introduction. If you want to start at the beginning, read the Bear Bluff and Bear Creek box set, then Return to Bear Bluff box set, and Return to Bear Creek with many box sets and some single stories. There are a bunch of related series also that you may want to check out, but those are the main ones. If you like your shifter romance with great character development and some action, then these books are for you! Enjoy!

More Bears to Love

I cannot get enough of these Bear Creek besrs. This is an exciting start to a new series. We meet Gunner as he's working on a car to avoid his birthday party. After enduring his party he decides to go on a run up the mountain. Sadie has landed her helicopter on the montain, hurt, on the run from people who have murdered her friend. Gunner and Sadie meet, take a ride on a dragon down the mountain, and the mating bond begins.
I love these books. It seems that the bear meets his mate at the right time, despite their wishes.
The camaraderie, loyalty and love of the shifters of Bear Creek/Bear Bluff make the stories such a pleasure to read.
Gunner and the rest of the Silverback Saviors are able to help Sadie discover what caused her flight into the mountain. With the addition of Sadie, the Silverback Saviors just may have opened the door for fate to bring their mates.
Can't wait to see whose next to get a mate.

3.5 stars. Once again it was great to have a mature couple as the main H’s and always a pleasure to be in Bear Creek or Bear Bluff territory.
As much as I enjoyed this book, I just couldn’t love it. I can’t quite put my finger on why, as it has everything this author is good at giving her readers. I think it was the fact this story seemed and felt slow at times, even though things were going forward.
I didn’t find the ending satisfactory for information.
Really didn’t feel a loving connection between Gunner & Sadie.
Loved Gunners conversations with his bear side. Sage and cute.
Looking forward to the other three Silverback Saviours meeting their mates and getting their stories though I was sad that a whole year had already gone by for these lonely bear shifters.

This is a really enjoyable bear shifter romance & an amazing start to a new series. I found the story-line & plot to be well-written, suspenseful & a pleasure to read. The characters are well-developed & interesting with strong personalities.
There is: for some rhyme or reason a male bear shifter (Gunner) is called to the mountains & discovers his human mate (Sadie) with vengeful feelings in her heart, his leader (Jason), various kinds of shifters, caring friends, twists & turns, intrigue, suspense, mystery, secrets, adventure, action, deceit, betrayal, danger, threats, violence, injuries, confrontations, attempted blackmail, emotional turmoil, conflict, strange attractions, love, contentment, some steam & a satisfying conclusion.

Love and Redemption

Gunner and Sadie are brought together under scary conditions. When bear shifter Gunner finds Sadie on his mountain she's hurt, alone and clearly in trouble. He also realizes she is his mate. They are together from then on. Relying on Gunner and his Silverback Saviors for help with her threatening circumstances is not how Sadie wants to proceed. She's use to relying on her smarts and independence to suceed. But this time she's realized her situation is too dangerous. She also realizes Gunner is too important to avoid. Their circumstances soon bring them together and it's a terrific tale of success both romantically and safety-wise. Love these Silverbacks.

A bear shifter who feels unworthy of love and happiness

Gunner feels like he has to make up for past mistakes but for some reason his bear is edgy. Gunner`s bday party is tonight and he's dragging his feet about going but makes an appearance and later takes his bear out for a run in the mountains only to find his true mate injured. Sadie is injured and isn't sure where she is and finds a bear in the mountains but instead of running away she's sure the bear won't hurt her. Why is Sadie hurt and on the mountain? Can Gunner help Sadie and himself so they can have a future together? I loved this book and recommend it.

Awesome Read!!

Loved it!, I am not going to lie it's good to read about my old friends from Bear Creek Kit, Fiona and her daughter, and Lana from Sliverback Bears and a baby. Loved Gunner and Sadie story, two peas in a pod fit these two fated mates, they both had different circumstances however similar in some way with hiding their true self from most of the people around them. Loved how the professor acted as though the bears that saved him were his pet..Surprise they haven't mention this at all. Anyway great beginning, now on to Patrick story and he seems to have a chip on his shoulder...big fan as always Winzie19☺💞.

Woman On The Mountain

Gunner is out for a run in the mountains, when he senses his mate nearby. Sadie is on the run after seeing her mentor lying in a pool of blood on his office floor. Gunner will do what he can to protect Sadie, and the Silverback Saviors will be there to help. This was a great story, quick to read and brought back a few key characters in the Bear Creek/Bear Bluff world! It is always nice to reconnect with past “friends”! Check this series out, it’s a really fun read!

Good read

Very good story and a great addition to the saga of Bear Creek. I love the new stories featuring the Silverback bears from Bear Creek. It's nice that mature people are getting a happily ever after. Gunner and Sadie make an awesome couple and the way the other Silverback Saviors treat her as another member of group is really cool. I'm also happy that Gunner and Sadie will have a family as well. I would recommend this story to any adult reader. The characters, situations and action are very well handled. Great job by Harmony Raines.

Gunner: Silverback Redemption Book One
By Harmony Raines
Kindle unlimited purchase
It's Gunner's birthday and like a grumpy bear, he is hiding in his workshop "working," on a car.
Sadie is different, it's difficult for her to make friends. When her one and only friend called her and asked her to come over she couldn't tell him no.
This is book one in what looks like a great series. This world "Bear Creek" that Harmony Raines writes about is just as much a character as the bears, dragons that live there are. I wonder what's going to happen next.
