SURVIVOR MEETS THE LORD OF THE FLIES IN THIS SOLAR EMP EVENT

SURVIVOR MEETS THE LORD OF THE FLIES IN THIS SOLAR EMP EVENT & UNLEASHES "THE GOOD, THE BAD, AND THE F@#@!NG CRAZY"

EMP Primeval by S.A. Ison is a very well-written enjoyable action thriller that will hold your interest throughout with intriguing situations that at times will blow your mind on how fast and how hard evil shows it's true colors in just minutes after coming to the realization that they are on their own in the middle of nowhere cut of from the rest of the world with no hope of rescue.

You will find yourself rooting for Sarah and Aiden along with their other contestants, host, producer, and camera crew as the deal with being in a foreign country in the middle of a primeval forest completely cut of from any other humans by impossible terrain to reach civilization all the while some of the contestants turn into crazed thiefs, rapists, and cannibals because they are to lazy and to stupid to help themselves survive.

This is a very fast-paced action thriller that you will really enjoy reading, if you're into survival books. The characters are ones that you will find not only believable but you'll find yourself rooting for the good over the evil on each page and in each character throughout the book.

I really enjoyed this book and hope you will also.

Not much of a story

I'd just finished "No Time For Witches" by the same author and while I enjoyed it immensely this tale is half as good.
Lost in a primeval forested part of China a large group of men and women have arrived to try their survival skills in hopes of winning a multimillion dollar prize. Before the game actually begins the group loses all means of contact with the developed world, so their survival efforts now must become a genuine fight for their lives and the hope for humanity.
Unfortunately some of the former contestants are soon overwhelmed by the struggles and quickly devolve into chaos, with heinous acts of rape, murder, and cannibalism shutting down the human thoughts and behaviors which once formed their society and their basis for living.
Atrocities begin with one simple goal, that of staying alive and thriving in this new and desperate world.
Some do and those who do not will pay the ultimate price for their sanity and their rapid descent into madness.
This little story is a very fast dead, I think mostly because there just isn't a great deal of options for the group. And of course before it's over and done with the contestants have been able to develop a new social fabric, with children being born and raised without ever knowing there was once an entirely different and adaptable world with benefits and pleasures they themselves will never know or have a chance to invent or develop.
The problem with the story is that there's really nothing for the former game players to do other than survive and hope that one day they will be able to find out what happened to the world at large. Did we blow ourselves up, experience a major EMP or has the whole world become a vast barren wasteland? And we never know. Five years on, but we still don't know how or why, what happened?
This story isn't really going anywhere. It's trite and ludicrous and gives the reader absolutely no satisfaction or resolution. Not knowing what will take place is a poor conclusion. I didn't expect such poorly crafted nonsense from the author of a different book which I had just finished with great satisfaction . But this one must have been a quick idea that just doesn't go anywhere. 200+ pages makes it a simple story without enough plot, action or development .
Happy to at least finish it but just not impressed.
Teen or YA reading at best.
Give this one a hard pass.

Loved it

Ok this book goes somewhat the way of Lord of the Flies. It was excellent. Having tired of zombies zombies zombies, this book was still apocalyptic but also a story of survival. Excellent characters, good pace. Of coarse its fiction so someone might find fault but if I want everything factual I read nonfiction. That said check it out I think you will enjoy the read. Looking forward to other stories from this author

I congratulate the author on a very different plot about coping in nature. it is always the most dangerous threat evil men that turn feral you have to deal with in order to survive. well done. I hope there are more adventures with this group.

Good read

The story isn't bad. Editing could use some work. Characters are well drawn and intriguing. The plot is a bit different from the standard emp tale and the it is fast paced. My biggest problem was the amount of violence, too much for me to enjoy.

A little too gory, but very good!

This book was the third one I've read by Ison. It was much more gritty and brutal than the others. But it is a fast moving story that has a satisfying wrap up. All in all I enjoyed it.

Thoroughly enjoyable

I enjoyed this story. It’s interesting to think of how an individual will react to a situation. Will you shine or let the darkness takeover. Looking forward to more by this author

Wish I had not wasted my time. Hated this from the first.

Not sure why an author of Ison's caliber felt it necessary to dive into the depths of this drivel but it was a waste of time.

I wasn't impressed by the rapes, cannibalism, or absurdly shallow plot lines.

A very different but realistic approach to an apocalypse. I was up most of the night finishing the book. I have added this author to my must read list.
