RECKLESS KISS sounded like a read that I'd really enjoy, but sadly it fell short of my expectations.  I felt no chemistry between Dominic or Vivienne at all, and to be honest, neither of them won me over, though Vivienne didn't annoy me as much as Dominic did.

I felt as though Dominic spent the entire story doing two things:
1 - being bitter about how his father became a laughing stock in the business world after he almost ran his business into the ground; and
2 - trying to figure out how he could balance running his business and loving Vivienne at the same time, because apparently doing both is impossible.

I liked Vivienne better, but even she disappointed me.  I was hoping she'd be a kick-arse FBI agent, one who we'd see investigating the case and leading us through twists and turns before uncovering the identity of the person selling the company's secrets.  Instead, we see her perform secretarial work for most of the story until she figures out who the traitor is at the end, after what feels like five minutes of investigation.

RECKLESS KISS is told in dual POVs and, considering how little time Dominic and Vivienne spent together before declaring their love for each other, I'd classify this as an insta-love.  Apart from my issues with the characters, the story didn't hold my attention and in a couple of spots I had issues with the timeline.  Going by all the positive reviews on Amazon and Goodreads, clearly a lot of people have loved this story.  Unfortunately, I'm not one of them.

I didn't care a lot for this one, mainly because for me the plot was what I'd call one dimensional. I wanted more that just the two MC's being lustful and having sexual situations. I wanted something deeper. I didn't connect to the characters at all. I didn't find them believable. Too many scenes are repetitive and nothing new.

What I wanted was more of the more of Vivienne's story and excitement (potentially) within the FBI. I thought there'd be more suspense, but I didn't get that. I'd have liked it much more if there was more of that part of the plot and fewer of the sex scenes. I honestly don't know what else to say.

I am going to read book 2 because I have it, so hopefully it'll be better.

Blurb:
The one thing that obsesses, captivates, and seduces me? Money.

I’m a self-made billionaire, and running my business empire means I’ve got better things to do than bother with women. They can throw themselves at me all they want—I can’t be tempted.

Until my newest executive secretary’s first day on the job.

One glance at her and I forget about spreadsheets and quarterly earnings, because her curves are pure sin. Her mouth is the wickedest distraction I’ve ever seen.

And I swear she’s begging me to f*ck her with those huge, green, innocent eyes.

I’m not just her boss—I’m the CEO of the whole company. I shouldn’t touch her, let alone bend her over my desk and make her moan my name.

And I absolutely can’t possess Vivienne the way I really want to, letting her slake my dark desires.

But I also can’t stay away…

I’m not about to fall for my boss.

Dominic Wilder thinks he can take whatever he wants just because he’s rich and successful…not to mention his chiseled body and intense, dominating glare. Just because he makes me want to climb into his private jet and let him have his way with me right now doesn’t mean I will.

Here’s the thing: I’m not just one of his secretaries…

I’m an undercover FBI agent investigating him, and I’m on the verge of a breakthrough. This mission could make my entire career—there’s no way I’m jeopardizing it for some nice abs and a little whispered dirty talk.

Or even a lot of whispered dirty talk, not to mention his hands all over me, making me feel things I’ve never felt before.

Even one kiss would be too reckless…

I feel like there's some development missing.

Dominic sometimes seems like he's about 12 years old, not a successful billionaire. Viviene is interesting as a FMC because she's an undercover agent. I liked their initial chemistry, but Dominic saying he loves her without practically knowing her just because they spent a few weeks exchanging messages? Hmmmm... I don't know..

When I read Shameless Kiss and it was so good that I realized I needed to go back and read the rest of the series. Glad I did. This book was well worth the read.

Vivienne though she has this amazing job at the FBI and gets to go undercover I bet it has to get tiresome pretending to be someone you are not. She gets the chance to go undercover at Wilder Enterprises. I almost found it funny things that went wrong at her first day undercover. Have to wonder if fate was playing some sort of hand in that.

Dominic Wilder who was CEO of Wilder Enterprises was this hot and sexy billionaire. He is a very tense person. One that never relaxes. Gees he even had a hard time taking a vacation. I loved how when he first saw Vivienne he could not help but stop and check on her to make sure she was okay, no matter how busy he was.

I loved the chemistry that was between these two. Though Dominic could pursue one of his employees if he so chose as long as the other party was willing it was different for Vivienne. She was undercover and was working as case. This could cost her her job.

I think Dominic and Vivienne were perfect for each other. Dominic needed someone to help teach him to relax and show him there was more to life then Wilder Enterprises. Vivienne needs someone to help her realize there is more to life then just moving up in the FBI. Vivienne has a sexual side that is hidden that Dominic will bring out. Both are what the other craves and before these two know it they are in way to deep.

Things will get complicated and there will be some decisions that need to be made. Question is will thees two make the right decision or lose the more important thing they have ever found.

Reckless Kiss: A Bad Billionaire Possession Novel by Amelia Wilde 5 Stars

Dominic Wilder in this story is one Intense, Intriguing, Commanding, Insanely HOT and Dominating Billionaire that will get all the women reading it chills, in a good way. He will sneak into your mind just like he does to Vivienne in the story. He will make you frustrated yet looking forward to what his plans are next for Vivienne.

Vivienne Peterson aka Vivienne Davis is the FBI agent that has been sent undercover to Wilder Enterprises to try and catch the person sending secrets of the company to China. She is definitely smart enough for the job but man oh man on her first day there had me shaking my head and laughing. I was so embarrassed for her, you will be too. I think she has the hardest part of the story. She has to deceive the one person that she shouldn't be falling for. She is a strong character in this.

Amelia Wilde's book takes you on a suspenseful romantic bad to the bone billionaire journey, and you just know it's gonna get more intense as the story goes. She is very good at making you feel both Dominic and Vivienne's emotions. Great Read.

Mature Reader Audience 18+, Strong language and sexual content.

I voluntarily read and reviewed this book by the author I will recommend this to my reading friends.

What an AMAZING book by Amelia Wilde, from beginning to end there wasn't a thing I would change about the story or second guess it. There are so many things I loved about this book...it was thorough, no gaps...the hot alpha male billionaire wasn't playboy who would have a different bimbo in his bed every night or week (very, very refreshing)...the descriptions when they were together gave me goosebumps, especially the first time they were in a limo (goosebumps among goosebumps...WOW)....Vivienne was a strong woman who was in control of her life but wanted a real man to control her in bed....Dominic was strong and patient and wanted Vivienne but played a sensual game with her (goosebumps again)....finally when they are together EXPLOSIVE. The ending was the best ending I have read in a long long time.....goosebumps again and eyes were a little misty as well. KUDOS to Amelia Wilde!! Worth more than the 5 stars allowed!!

A little cheesy. The writing was good and for the most part the characters were well developed. I do think it was kind of strange that after Dominic found out about the investigation and then came across what he thought was suspicious activity but then blew it off as just normal daily routine was weird. There were a few more instances within the story that really didn't add up to what the book was really about.

I skimmed part of the book.

Rating: NC-17 (sexual content)
Language: some profanity and use of deity
Recommend: probably not

DNF after chapter 3.

I did not like the writing.
1) Too many adjectives: belligerent phone ring, precarious steps....
2) The characters' inner musings were annoying.
3) The author spent wayyyy too long describing the female main character's mishap with a box of doughnuts.

This story of Dominic Wilder the gorgeous, sexy billionaire, head of Wilder Enterprises. He took over the company after his mother died and his father let the company go trying to make his mother happy, but in the end it just wasn't enough. So Dominic had
promised his self that no woman would come before keeping his company prosperous like it's now. It's because of Dominic that the company is doing well. There's Vivienne Davis FBI agent aka as Vivienne Peterson, who is planted in his company to find out who's selling Dominic's company secrets to the Chinese . She, though, on the first day in an effort to earn favor with her peers took a box of doughnuts. It was raining on her first day but she held onto the box, even on her ride on the subway to work. She drops the box right in front of the door to the Wilder company just as Dominic is pulling up in his limo. She falls on her but and he gives her a hand up and their eyes meet and electricity flows between them. They eventually get to know one another and I don't want to give the story away, so I would say to you that have not read any of Amelia Wilde books, get this one. I love the way she tells a romantic story. This story has a little bit of angst and a little bit of drama and a little bit of mystery but of course their is a lot of romance 😉. I highly recommend this book.

CRS Contemporary Romance Series 2024 Challenge. The first book in this Billionaire series by Amelia Wide. I give this book 3.5 ⭐️ stars.
MC's H Dominic Wilder, billionaire & h Vivienne FBI agent undercover. They are mentioned in the 4th story Ruthless Kiss. Dominic is friends with Jasper Pace.

I wanted to love this story. It had the makings of a great story but it fell flat in character development and dialogue. Usually I love the main characters but in this book they felt weak and underdeveloped. The sex scenes were well written but I felt like they didn’t really fit in with the h’s character at all. I was glad the story ended quickly to be honest. The proposal at the end was beautiful. I liked that. The scene where she dropped her donuts was well written gave me hope this book would be a humorous RomCom. It was well written but the rest 🫤.

⭐️ ⭐️ ⭐️ Undercover love

With a strong h character the book already wins my attention , it’s an office romance even the h played staff , she never afraid to telling H - (like many other books out there plot to be the alpha - company owner ) how she want things to get done on their personal life
I love the arguing scene where h stand on her own feet and gave H a taste of his own medicine lolz

I love Amelia Wilde books and this one is very much of the genre. I prefer when her hero is an every day guy - I personally don't care for the billionaire hero as I find it less believable. However that fact didn't spoil this book for me, I still loved reading it.

The hero, Dominic, is sexy, alpha and caring, whilst Vivienne, the heroine, is career-minded, hard-working and focused. I didn't mind that she wanted to be dominated and the Dominic brought out her submissive tenancies. In fact I thought this was done really well and it felt very consensual, so thumbs up to the author. The chemistry between them was hot and the sex scenes were pleasant to read (that might sound a strange comment but some authors write them so crudely that I end up cringing). I quite liked the role reversal, with the female character being the keeper of secrets this time.

The book is written from both POV's, allowing you to know and empathise with both characters. The plot is interesting, has a few unexpected parts, moves along at a good pace and the book is very well written. Whilst this story may not stay with me for weeks, it is a very enjoyable read and kept me captivated whilst I was reading it.

I finished this book in April 2024 but never rated it.

Vivienne and Domenic's story was different and refreshing to read. I loved the entire FBI undercover theme. The two characters were very different, but also very much alike. Viviene had the FBI which she wanted to make her mark with, and Domenic had Wilder Industries. Both were dedicated in their desires to succeed.

Vivienne is undercover in Wilder Industries to see who is selling information to China. She and Domenic enter into a steamy relationship that puts Vivienne's assignment in jeopardy at the same time that Domenic is dealing with an undercurrent of questionable issues at Wilder Industries.

It a hot entertaining ride with plenty of angst, mystery, suspense and sex to keep you not only entertained but guessing the outcome. Ms. Wilde is an excellent writer who knows how to insert characters into her books that are unique to the story and the plot. Her characters are always growing in her books and are different people at the end of the story than they were at the beginning.

This was an okay read, but nothing great.

This book was rather disappointing. Not at all worth the time it took to read it. The characters weren't anyone to get attached to. I mean, he was a self-made billionaire and agendas an fbi agent, so you'd expect some intelligence. But they both became incapable of thinking as soon as they met. They acted like teenagers, imo.
There was a lot of repetition, which got old. I found myself skimming over pages at a time and never felt like I missed anything. Especially the first quarter of the book. You could read the first chapter and then skip ahead to the 25% mark and be just fine.
Unfortunately, I really have no interest in reading anymore of these books. Not worth the time for such disappointment.

Vivienne is not just the newest executive assistant at Wilder Enterprises; she's the FBI agent assigned to work undercover to figure out who's been selling secrets to a foreign country. While not working directly for Dominic Wilder, she catches his interest immediately and soon they're both conflicted over how their blossoming romance will affect their own goals within the company.

Dominic is focused on not repeating the mistakes of his father, to the extent that he refuses to be distracted by Vivienne. But their chemistry burns hot and bright, leading them both to wonder just how far they can go before compromising their objectives.

The insta-love aspect wasn't as well-developed as I would have liked, but Vivienne and Dominic are both interesting and likable main characters so it was easy to fall in step with their romance. The conflicts and secrets are teased out until the very end, testing their devotion to each other and to their jobs.

The corporate espionage storyline could have been a bit more detailed; as it was it felt like we were given just enough information to move the romance along and nothing more. Their romance had plenty of heat and a satisfying HEA.

Dominic Wilder has become a workaholic to avoid making the same mistakes he perceives his father did. Vivienne literally falls into his life at a time he cannot afford, but she helps redirect his focus in the best way possible.

I liked the way the author conveyed the inner conflicts for both main characters. The suspense and intrigue were the right amount to keep me interested and turning the pages. Though the love scenes get steamy, there's still a tenderness to them that makes you want Dominic & Vivienne to get over their issues and get their HEA.

I voluntarily read and reviewed an ARC of this book, and recommend it!!!

Reckless Kiss: An intense story of desire and love!!
ByAngelaon March 10, 2017

A wonderful story with a strong female lead!!! I love Amelia Wilde's writing and this book was no different than any of the others that I have read. I really enjoyed reading this one. This story is about two strong characters who know what they want and are very determined to get what they want and excel above all others. They both have their flaws and a dark side that eventually draws the two of them together. Vivienne works for the FBI and has been asked to go undercover in a big company to find out who is leaking confidential information to other companies. She willingly takes that challenge because she wants to further her career and make a giant leap up the ladder in the Bureau. What she didn't expect to happen with this job was to fall in love with the CEO of the company. Dominic Wilder is the is a billionaire and has everything at his beck and call at all times and having a relationship with a woman is not on his list of things to do. What he is unaware of is that someone is giving out secrets about his company that could ruin him. He is a very motivated and hardworking man with his own dark side and when he meets Vivienne the sparks fly between them. Immediately upon their first meeting they both notice a strong electricity that can't be denied. They begin a relationship that is dark and guarded at first but yet needed by both of them. Their relationship develops into something that is very sweet and beautiful only to take a slight detour when the truth comes out. In fine Amelia fashion, these two have some intense, suspenseful moments along with a few difficulties before they can make it to the end of the story. The story is wonderful, intense, difficult, dark, sexy, and full of love and beauty. I would recommend this book to anyone. Thank you Amelia Wilde for another great story!!

Vivienne Davis, FBI, goes undercover at Wilder Enterprise to figure out who was selling company secrets to China. On her first day there, after a bad trip to work, she meets Dominic Wilder, CEO.

There is an immediate connection between the two but neither move on it for several weeks. As Vivienne gets closer to the CEO, she also goes down rabbit holes of who could be behind the theft.

It all comes crashing down as she almost had who she’s looking for, but unable to tell Dominic the truth, he breaks up with her. Once she gets all the evidence she needs, Dominic is the first person she tells.

These two get their happily ever after.

Vivienne is an FBI Agent. Her new assignment is undercover at the company Wilder Enterprises where someone is stealing tech secrets and selling them. Her new boss is the handsome billionaire Dominic Wilder. when the two of them meet for the first time there is instantly a spark between the two of them. But Vivienne can't blow her cover and what if Dominic finds out ? is there hope for the two of them. I really enjoyed this book. It was very exciting and there was a lot of action. It was also a great romance just my type of book

What is there not to love. She's a hot undercover FBI agent with her eye on the career prize. He's the owner of the company she is investigating undercover. A forbidden affair on both sides hot and steamy no less with her finding out the truth or depth of her hidden desires all lead to a great story. This story has espionage, lies and deceit all wrapped up in a great story we have come to expect from this author. Her characters are strong and her scenes make you weak in the knees and hot under the collar.

Dominic's the owner of Wilder Enterprise & to him his business means everything, that's until he helps Vivienne , an undercover FBI agent who's trying to find out who's selling secrets to China, on her 1st day when she tumbles. There's an instant attraction, but at first Dominic denies himself. With all the stress about the FBI investigation the stress is getting to Dominic & he decides to go after Vivienne because he can't get her out of his head.

Good but a little slow.

This book ticked all the right boxes...romance, intrigue, steamy love scenes and a mystery...all good stuff but it just seemed constrained. I never got the warm fuzzy feeling from the H & h either...their relationship felt rushed, and I'm not talking about the warp speed in which they said their "I love you's"...
I don't know...someone else will read this book and find it perfect, I didn't, but it wasn't bad and I would recommend it for a quick read. I'm just sayin...

Okay to pass the time with

I liked the plot and the writing was good, but I couldn't help it feel disappointed by the end. The heroine, supposedly a capable agent, was extremely unprofessional in so many ways. And she kept doing it until the very end and it made me want to strangle her. I noticed a small error at mid-point of the book where the hero thought of the heroine as Vivienne Wilder, even though her name was Vivienne Davis ( his name Dominic Wilder)
