Rating and review for entire collection/series of book (Issues 1-6)

My Goodreads ratings are based on my own interpretation and connection with story. I used to collect these comics as a kid and I loved the light, frothy humor and the way problems could be wrapped up with a neat little bow. I was looking for that kind of escapism when I picked these up and, unfortunately, they aren't what I remember. Though still superficially glossing over complex situations (as comics are wont to do), the issues are a little more real - relationship anger and control issues, suspicions of infidelity, divorce, stages of Alzheimers and dementia, ageing and loss of parents...
Through no fault of the writers/artists, I was disenchanted. A piece of fantasy had the shine worn from it.
