So Wrong, So Right

Rate this book
My father’s health brought me closer to the enemy. The woman I never thought I’d even like… let alone love . My step-sister.
She’s off-limits. This is filthy. I need to suppress all thoughts about her.
I tried telling myself all those things. Nothing worked. I couldn’t deny that I want Rue. My step-mother was after the family fortune. But she’s different. Her blue eyes and those cute freckles have me dying for her. This is about to get hot, crazy, and a whole lot messier. Especially when I discover her… little secret.

I am fairly new to this author so just getting used to her writing and this book was a really good read although there were times that I didn’t feel totally connected to the main characters I did enjoy the story. I am voluntarily reviewing an Advanced Reader Copy of this book.

James is all about making his life his own and doing it on his own terms rather than joining the business with his father but everything changes the night he gets the phone call from informing him of his father’s heart attack it also leaves him in close contact with his gold digger step mother and her daughter Rue. Rue is nothing like her mum having grown up with her father in England and he can’t help but be attracted to her and it’s not long before they are in love but with what appears to be everyone against them can the love that he holds for Rue be enough to keep her or will she run from the disapproval and reproach of her mother. James is left alone rueing the day that he ever thought that he really could have it all but its two years later and when he catches sight of Rue he is back to the way he felt the day she left, the love, the hurt but he wants answers as to why she left, will he like the answers?

Rue arrived back in the States hoping for a relationship with the mother that sent her away so she could have a fancy carefree life with her new husband but it seems that she has arrived at the worst time with her step father in hospital trying to help and keep the peace between her mother and her step brother becomes impossible and she acknowledges that the feelings she has for James are in no way familial but will anyone accept the love that they have for one another or should she leave before she destroys what little family they have? Having thought she was doing the right thing two years ago returning to England she has returned to the US but this time she has a secret that could change a lot of lives but will James want anything to do with her after she left him the last time?

Enjoyable read but I didn’t like Noah very much and his outlook on love and Tillie was the picture perfect gold digger step mother. Would I read more the answer is yes I definitely would hopefully Noah will get a book of his own. Safe read and a good storyline just needed a little more heat.

So cliché, So cliché , So blaah
that's the right title of the book , reading it was a poor choice of mine my mistake in my defence i did not really concentrate while grabbing this . i would like that some authers stop showing FLs like some woman who can't make a very simple and a right decisions , i hate the " FL had a kid and kept it a secret for a no good reason " story
No need for saying they were both step sis/bro it all happened fast a kiss, they slept toghether, they were in relationship then they are in love
the problematic character here was the mother of the FL, an over dramatic women who don't deserve the title of a mother , she was the one who had a problem with them been an item and did not held back with her words ever especially with the FL , that's why i was extra mad at the FL she told her bad mother (FL complaining about mummy all the book ) about the kid while she hide the daughter from the ML the one who was there for her
the ML was so in love with her treated her good but her mom said a very hurtful words so what did she do well she runs away . in the whole book she was like my mom is this my mom is that buuut at the end after running and all the dama her , the mother know about the kid but the good guy was kept in the dark for 2 years while pining after her all that time , tell me about your reasoning cause i do not understand you
and like all the book it was so cliché how the matter was solved in a coincidence
ML : i have a kid !
FL : i know ! sorry i kept our daughter a secret for 2 years you did not get to be there for her !
ML : it's all right let's be a family
well call me a cranky but if someone kept my kid away from me for a month or days let alone years yeah let's just say you are going to get hurt . simple .

The author has again brought us characters that we can connect with. Rue and James are step-siblings that have never lived together as a family. However, when Rue returns from her years in England and sees James again, something changes. James is attracted to Rue, and she feels the same. Hopefully, they can travel the road to happiness together.

James and Rue are step-siblings. When Rue comes for a visit, sparks fly between her and James. Mary and James don’t get along and she has no time for Rue. When James’ father has a heart-attack they all live together to help. What will happen when Mary learns of James and Rue’s affair? Fast-paced read with loads of drama and suspense. The chemistry is steamy and the story entertaining. I liked it.

How Do You Define Family?

Everyone knows that oil and vinegar don’t blend easily. James Roberts could provide a case study for the concept with his own “blended” family. James’ mom died before he had any memory of her. He can’t recall her personality, her manner—but he has vivid and jarring memories of experiences involving his stepmom, Mary. Mary’s ego-centric focus and emotional outbursts become even more grating with the almost simultaneous, but unrelated, heart attack of his father and the arrival from England of the beautiful, red-haired, Rue, Mary’s daughter, his almost twenty-one-year-old stepsister. Suddenly, James’ world can’t spin in crazier orbits. However, this is not James and Rue’s first encounter; no, that went back to the early days of “blending” the two families. Secretly, Rue developed a “crush” on her handsome stepbrother. But before the crush blossomed into more and with no one the wiser, Rue was shuttled off to England to live with her father and his girlfriend, Kira.

Now, Rue is back. Rue knows her mother, loves her, but knows her mom’s grasping ways and does not anticipate that this visit will be prolonged, even though the purpose is to mend the relationship of the mother and daughter. And, arriving at the moment of a family crisis, the length of the reunion seems doomed to be brief. So, to endure the stress, James and Rue form a pact of sympathy as they deal with Mary. They agree to have each other’s back, and to rescue each other with the utterance of the signal word, “banana” when distance from Mary is needed. But the growing closeness between Rue and James is definitely not the closeness of siblings, and a difficult time becomes even more challenging. Why can’t Rue and James control the unexpected pleasure they find in each other’s company?

What really gets “blended” in this family are the emotions of the step siblings. When dysfunctionality is the word of the day, and the relationship between Mary and Benjamin is progressively weakening, who says that Rue and James will always be siblings?! Brenda Ford entices her readers into a wild story where indeed, wrong is right and right is wrong—except for the reader where the story is a perfect blend that delights!

It was wrong but could it be right?

I have to be honest and say that this is not my favorite Brenda Ford book. Heck it isn't even in the top 20. Now I do like the step brother/sister genre normally so I know that was not the issue here. I just could not get into the story-line and did not much like the characters. But I know that all readers are different and my opinion is just that..............my opinion. So if you like Brenda Ford books then you may like this one also.
As an aside I also had an issue with the number of proofreading mistakes that I found. I ended up skimming over a lot of the book hoping I could get drawn in to the family dynamic and the forbidden aspect of things but by the end I was just more meh than anything else with this book. But I still like Brenda Ford as an author so will continue to read her books.

I received a free ARC of this book in exchange for my honest review. My opinions are all my own.

James doesn't like his step-mother and views her as a gold digger. Rue is back in town to see her mother and her step-father but arrives when everything is drama filled. Her step-father has been rushed to the hospital because he had a heart attack. So her re-introduction into the family isn't done at an ideal time. Seeing how James was distraught she tries to comfort him and they bond over their joint dislike of her mother. Sparks fly between them and even though they know they shouldn't they end up giving into temptation and sleeping together. Will their being together cause more family drama? Can they have a relationship given how they met?

This is an amazing story that will captivate you from beginning to end. The chemistry between them is blazing hot. This is a well written and very entertaining story. I would recommend this book to any book lover.

Taboo relationships are sometimes the best.

Does being step siblings really make you family? Rue and James were not raised together and Rue's mom married James' father to better her financial situation. When he has a heart attack Rue and James connect in a way they never had before. James has up walls to protect himself against Rue because he's seen how her mother is, but the more he gets to know her the more he sees they're very different. Can Rue and James stand together? Especially once Rue's mother finds out about their situation?

This book had a nice flow and it didn't take much to be caught up in the story or the irresistible heat between the characters. There's a good balance of story development and conflict between the parties to keep readers engaged and turning pages.

Terrible. All the tropes done so wrong. What's wrong with all these characters. They were all like extremes with one working brain cell. The father? Dude are you blind, Mary is a nightmare. Mary, wtf? How do people like you exist. Rue is an idiot and James was tolerable. Also screw you Rue for running away and not even telling James about his child. I hate that ploy in books. It is never okay to not tell the father of the child about their existence (unless they're dangerous). Ugh he didn't get to be there for his own child's birth and her first year BUT he's okay. Calling BS on that. How ridiculous is this! So angry. If I didn't have to reach 200 books then I would've DNR this a while back.

When Rue comes back from England to see if she can salvage her relationship with her mother she runs into James again. James is her stepdads son who she had a crush on before she was sent away to live with her father. When James sees Rue again he is wary that she is like her mom, but as the two of them start talking and getting to know each other the chemistry between them ignites. When the truth about their relationship comes out will their love be enough to survive the drama or will it send Rue running back to England?

James is the son of the billionaire. When he's on a date with a woman he does not have a connection with, his phone rings and his life completely changes. Rue, on the other hand is his step sister and just came from England to the U.S.
The start of this book is a little slow, which is a little unusual for me, because I love this author, but the story picks up later, so it's another very great read from Brenda.

Why is it that “forbidden” things are the most tempting? Rue and her childhood crush certainly will have you frantically turning the pages as you are sucked into this captivating drama of a journey of rediscovery or rather rekindling relationships, health scares, uncontrollable chemistry and a self-obsessed mother from hell.

It was so right on all levels and nothing was wrong about it.

James never wanted to be with his Dad's company. It something that he felt guilty about but he wanted to teach. He is called to the hospital by the crazy step Mother Mary because George has had a heart attack. Mary's daughter Sierra has come back to try to make amends with her mother Mary. Sierra has never gotten along with her mother, and was sent to live in England with her father. This is a love story between James and Sierra, that Mary disapproves of.

Not bad but maybe not for me

It was ok. The start was really good but I lost interest somewhere in the middle. The writing was good though and the plot was interesting enough at first. Might try another book by her to see if it catches my interest more.

James and Rue are stepsiblings who fall for each other in this forbidden romance. So Wrong, So Right is a twisted story that held my attention from the first page until the last. The characters are interesting and believable making this a good read. I voluntarily reviewed a copy of this book.

Could have been better

Lots of spelling mistakes which I really don't like when I'm reading. The story had potential but it reached a point where it just kind of went down hill for me and I couldn't keep my interest up

I would have liked this book more if I liked the main characters. I didn’t much care for Rue at all. I didn’t really sympathize with her and why she did what she did. James was pretty much a doormat.

I did enjoy this book and it had a good plot to it. My only negative was that I spotted quite a few spelling issues throughout which did bring me out of the story but over all I did enjoy this stand alone story
