The Pawn I couldn't put down this book until I got to the end, it was that good! As always, Skye Warren does not disappoint. This was such an interesting story, a virgin being auction off to the highest bidder. I'm looking forward to the next book.
The Knight The Knight is the second book in the Endgame series and it ends in a cliffhanger. I was prepared to hate Gabriel even more but now we see the human side of him. The story continues where The Pawn left off with mystery, lies and suspense. I look forward to the conclusion of what happens between Gabriel and Avery.
The Castle The Castle is the third and final book in the Endgame series. The story continues where The Knight left off. So many twists and turns, I thought the ending was perfection.
“Do you love me?” “Oh, little virgin. I love you with every cold bone in my body. I love you with every dark thought, every violent impulse. I love you enough to leave the walls I’ve carefully built, the iron bars I refined, the castle I made.” I didn't think to find a quote like this from this book. The author did a shita§ job while writing the book. The whole "virgin and innocent" drama were really infuriating. "Little virgin"? That's the nickname u chose? Ughhh... But there was a redeeming moment in Gabriel's love confession to Avery that truly stood out to me.
Safety Virgin h(20+), H(30+) is not manwhore Single POV (h's) OM drama(minor) SA, abuse, child abuse, s*x slavery Push and pull HEA
These books should have been Kindle unlimited to me, I’m just saying my opinion!..I’ve read Kindle unlimited books that I absolutely would not paying $4.99 or $7.99 for....however, I’m a little salty I bout all 3 books but once I’m committed, I’m committed & it’s very rarely I have a “DNF” book.
These 3 books/ Series really & truly is about a 3.25 - 3.71 ⭐️‘S to me... The last one in particular, 3.25 because of Avery...she was a dumb bitch in 1...a stupid bitch in 2 and I don’t even know what to say about her madness in book 3. This book could & probably should have wrapped in book 2... I will say this...Skye Warren can write & entice you in her story...but she writes an annoying stupid heroine & a great hero...writes a good build up to the plot but then drops the ball on what that plot actually is..
Val-shameless-non-snowflake, has the best review on here to me for this book...read it! Book 1 as she states starts off steam but unfortunately loses it each book. There was this whole unfolding of this mystery...& when it does finally unfold it’s like WTF (it was so stupid to me...the last 5-6 chapters was just stupid to me). Gabriel was everything & he’s been the only saving grace of these books & why they got a decent rating from me.
The Endgame Trilogy (Endgame #1-3) was a great read by Skye Warren. This set consists of; The Pawn, The Knight, and The Castle. The Pawn (Endgame, #1) was a great read by Skye Warren. Avery finds herself caught in the middle of the people her father wronged. Gabriel was the man that her father wronged and is looking for retribution. He left her father penniless and left in a hospital bed. She leaves her college to take care of her family. She decides to sell herself in order to save her house and make sure her father is taken care of. Gabriel is the man who helps her but seems to also like seeing her fall. The Knight (Endgame #2) was a good read by Skye Warren. Avery finds herself angry at Gabriel being that he has taken absolutely everything from her. He took away her family, innocence and home. She is more determined to take back everything that's hers. She is ready to prove to him that he hasn't taken everything from her. The Castle (Endgame #3) was a great read by Skye Warren. Avery knows that she is safe in the tower Gabriel made for her. She knows this because that's what he tells her even when enemies lurk outside. There is no where that she can go and no one for her to trust. I enjoyed reading this book and cant wait to read more by the author.
I was put off by the poor reviews and chose not to read this story for ages but I always enjoy the books Skye writes finally I took the plunge and selected it. Thank goodness. Loved the complexity of the story with all the twists and turns. Yes, it’s dark and definitely not suitable for readers with triggers but if you enjoy the darker side then don’t miss this offering. Recommended
Bought book 1 by accident and was surprised to find myself buying the rest of the series... But book 2... I don't know. Maybe I was expecting so much that the execution felt bland and forced. Then there's Gabriel who magically appears when situation calls for it... Don't ask me about the last 3 or so chapters where thr 'mysteries' were unearthed. Hahahahaha wth did I get myself into. Oh well. On to the last book to hopefully get my HEA even if I didn't get my money's worth.
Alright, idk how to hide the spoilers (super new on Goodreads) so might wanna skip the review if you want no spoilers, since idk how to hide them lol. Now the review:
I ATE IT UP The FMC was strong. Period. The plot twist was spiffing, keep me hooked for so long. (The only thing I disliked is the exhibitionism in the auction, oh and also Damon being her half-brother was umm uncomfortable af)
This entire review has been hidden because of spoilers.
If I had to hear that she was a virgin one more time, I was going to scream . WTF We get your selling your V card. We didn't need to be reminded every page.
Avery James has no clue of the monsters in her house. The Rich socialite falls from grace. Her dad stole from rich men and he paid the price. To keep her father alive she sells hers self to the devil. Only she doesn't know she was already sold long ago, Now to keep from
Gabriel Miller fell the min. he saw her only she doesn't remember meeting him.
Now the both playing a game of chess. You find out who all the players are through out the books. Pawns are thrown , a checkmate a stalemate, Who will win The King or The Queen
As always I find Skye Warren's Book mesmerizing. I have found an author who can weave a tale of deceit, psychotic, vicious killer, add psychological terrorism plus a dark tale of a love relationship into the mix and have the reader feel for all of her characters as the characters emotional and mental challenges exposes their their own private living nightmare. Enjoy all of her books.
You must must read this book. It will grip you from the beginning. It’s full of twists and turns. Surprises that you really don’t expect. Skye is a wonderful author. She truly makes you say “I did not see this coming”. The series is full of pain, lust, love, intensity, and conflict. Do yourself a favor and read it!
In a world where money and power defined beauty and proper behavior, the level of depravity exposed in these books is truly astonishing, but oh so good! They rip you apart, but sew you back up.
What a grand idea all 3 books to read in a flowing fashion .I did enjoy the dram here and i am intrigued to read about the surrounding cast . Well written and easy to fall into the plot!
The Pawn: This book was ... wow! I’ve read some other of her books and loved them, but had no idea this one came first. I’m completely intrigued by the story of Avery and Gabriel. He’s so dark and mysterious, alpha, yet at the same time is sweet and kind. She’s very innocent and totally in love with him, though tries to hide it with hate.
It’s a cliffhanger, so I’m off to read The Knight for the conclusion of this wonderful story.
The Knight: This book was the second book on the story of Avery and Gabriel. It has so many twists and turns that I’m still confused. However, the story is so captivating that I can’t just stop reading it. This is a well written cliffhanger and it is a story that needed 3 books to be told. It’s not like it was stretched this far.
Skye Warren has become one of my favorite authors, to the point I think I’ll buy anything she writes without need to read first what it’s about, as I know I’ll enjoy it thoroughly.
The Castle:
This is the conclusion of Gabriel and Avery’s story. I could not put this book down! This story was full of angst, desperation, lust, love. There were so many emotions in these pages... I ended up liking and hating Gabriel, sometimes he’d provoke opposing emotions at the same time! And Avery was so kind and compassionate that at times I was mad at her, then could not comprehend how she could withstand what happened to her.
This book was wonderful. Another masterpiece by Skye Warren. She is definitely one of my favorite authors.
It's time to binge read! I read this series book by book of waiting in agony for the next release cause the end of each book is just perfectly cliffy. Getting a boxset like this is perfect for you binging crazy like me😘😂
