The story has definitely picked up from the first volume. More world building, more character development, more plot and action.
I’m still not entirely sold on Franck’s idea of Sledge’s main outfit. Some of the panels are really hard to decipher. However, I can feel a better connection to the characters and plot than I did in the last one.
Overall, a good continuation of the heist story from volume one with more vampires in the way I like my vampires.
What's it say when I binge read both Silver Volume 1 and 2 on a weekend where I picked up many good books at a C2E2, a Chicago-based comic book convention? That it's a hard-to-put-down graphic novel. Stephan Franck knows how to visually tell a story, even in black and white. As supervising animator on the classic animated movie, Iron Giant, he employs the same knowledge of capturing a scene into Silver. His lighting and art decisions keeps the reader thoroughly engaged from beginning to end.
