With five men at my side, can I defeat the threat to Inferna?
Can I face who I am and what I have become?
And the most important question... do panthers like catnip?
Transfuse is book three in the Infernal Council series. It is a continuation of Infuse and Defuse. This novel is full length and reverse harem. It contains multiple POVs.
Fast burn, 18+ recommended Male/Male Foul language
Good finish to the series. I was underwhelmed however with the fight against the big bad. It was tied up too quickly and I was disappointed by that. More drama and explanation from the villain would have made for a better story.
3.7 stars. So. This was good…? But also. Kind of anticlimactic, annoying, and underwhelming for me?
I’ll be honest. This series wasn’t my favorite. There’s nothing glaringly wrong with it though so I feel like sort of a jerk for not loving it.
First let’s talk about the harem and their relationship with Sammy. I didn’t love them all together the way I usually do. It was rushed. It felt like it was all for the wrong reasons. The mushy stuff was never really said or done. So we didn’t experience the full extent of the connection they probably shared. And the entire time, most/all of them had problems with one or more of the others. And one of those never really got resolved.
I just think because the pacing was So fast, that we skipped character and relationship building and just went right to sex and action.
Which is fine. But it left me feeling completely unbothered, and honestly rooting for them to fail, when one of the guys did something stupid and had to face the consequences, again.
And the plot. Everything was SO easy to overcome. Like SO easy. One minute it’s a problem affecting the whole realm. And the next it’s obliterated and everything’s fine.
Not much build. Not much tension. Like, I have a feeling this author just hates, or sucks at writing battle scenes. Because we got like none of them even with the amount of times they had to fight. It was like a blur as she fast forwarded through them all.
And the sex wasn’t all that exciting either. There was some hot moments throughout the three books. But mostly it felt stale and wasn’t doing it for me.
Then Sammy kept the same fucking attitude throughout the entire fucking series. That same hesitance and reluctance to be queen. The same lack of knowledge or exuberance of/for her powers. She was fucking afraid of it all. And she wallowed too damn much for my liking. And let me tell you. It was annoying as fuck.
I don’t know guys. I just wasn’t super into it. I liked it. But I didn’t love it. Wasn’t excited by it. Wasn’t invested in it.
Maybe I’m just not a fan of this author’s writing style. I don’t know. Maybe someday I’ll try reading another one of her books. Not anytime soon though. I just need a minute to shake out the disappointment.
I needed more. I loved it but I needed so much more and it wasn't explan as best as it could have been. I feel like there should be another book to answer all the questions I have still.
I have loved this world created by Maya since the first book of the Celestial Academy book I accidently stumbled upon. Each book in the two series has built this world that I am so sad to leave behind with this book. I do feel that Maya ended this series so well. I do wish we could hear more about all the characters but they ended in such a great spot.
There were so many twists in this book. It was such a wild ride. One of my favorite scenes is when the archangel Rapheal gives Amari a small stuffed squirrel that is filled with catnip. That scene was amazing.
I think everyone who loves books with demons, shifters and vampires or any of the above should give this book series a try.
Samara finds out that her family has quite the secret. Her and her mates have to find a way to stop the vacants. Samara is having trouble figuring out her powers. Being queen is tough.
So while this was the end (unless the Author decides to add to this groups story which I would be ok with) it was still great. This whole book for me felt like the saying "hate to see you go, but love to watch you leave". Because it was such a good story, characters, and world that I could have kept reading about their lives but where and how it ended tied everything up with an HEA. This book had all the elements from the previous ones I enjoyed - the supernatural, reverse harem/why choose romance, plenty of hot moments (with creative configurations including m/m & group), action and suspense. It's really a series to be read in order but they are all so good that's no chore. This one for me and more emotion elements as well, both good and bad.I was happy, anxious, angry, frustrated, crying and laughing. Because while there were some intense edge of your seat, what the neck is going on moments there were also moments of sweetness and hilarity to balance that out. A lot happens in this book but I know at least for me I was pleasantly surprised and satisfied with how things turned out. I kind of hope if not these characters that maybe we can at least visit this world again in some capacity (maybe see Sammy & the MOSH in the background). This was a great book and series would recommend!
This waa the perfect ending to Sammy and her men's journey. There were many twists that i didn't see come that made this entertaining and fun to read. My favorite part of this book and probably the whole series was the parts with Shelley, I was a little upset we didn't get to see that in the last book but this one surely made up for that part being missed out on. My only complaint was that we didn't really get to see the past characters that we meet and loved as much as I would have liked but I was happy we got to see Pickard again. Overall this was a good series that had some interesting characters, I would still love if we got more from this world because i feel like we only just scratched the surface (I mean there are still so many more archangels left and the need for an heir for a certain someone).
I loved this series and these series prior. Maybe now you can find Michael somone or a group that can loosen him up a little. LOL. If you find him in a future romance I will certainly look forward to it! Or maybe even find someone for Azreal.
Honestly speaking, I LOVED the series and devoured the books. This last book though, I really struggled with. I hated how the FMC didn't have any character development. From the first to the final moments of the series she never once believed in herself—which was the point of her powers!! I hated how things could've gone so simple if she just believed. I didn't mind it in the first two books but with this final book it was just too much. She could've been so strong but instead she was just clueless about everything. Even at the final moments I got so frustrated on that anticlimactic ending!
The savior of this book was truly the harem. I loved all the guys. Even if Val's character was butchered and he didn't get any redemption.. Raphael was just so perfect. I also loved the humor! I loved every single harem member and if it wasn't for the irritating af fmc, it would've been perfect.
Transfuse is the third book in the Infernal Council series by Maya Nicole.
I had some misguided hopes this series would redeem itself in the final installment. Greatly disappointed by what was offered. I feel it necessary to highlight my only enjoyment in this final book is attributed to the main characters. Whom, as well, weren’t all that well crafted. With the end of this world and their story I’m surprised we don’t know each of them to a deeper degree as well as the utter lack world building or the definition behind the magic mechanics.
The conclusion was rather confusing and underwhelming. All that buildup and discombobulated mash up of intriguing and distant events didn’t lend themselves to a cohesive whole. Considering the entirety of the series I’m disappointed the author didn’t capitalize on the raw components. There was so much more potential, than was presented here.
I loved this whole universe. I started with the celestial academy books and read widow after that so everything was set up for this. This spinoff did not disappoint. The spice was perfect and I love love love all the guys and their quirky personalities. My only complaint was that I felt the “big battle” was very anticlimactic but one of the characters literally says the same thing so I know it was written that way on purpose. But I feel like that part fell a bit flat. Besides that I loved this and it’s absolutely worth the read. This will be one a recommend!
What an amazing ending to this series! I’m sad that Samara’s story is at its end. But so glad her and her men are finally bonded. There were some amazing twists in this book I didn’t see coming involving her brothers. I was still hoping that maybe Reve would have come back to help his sister out after he dropped the crown in her lap the way he did. But overall an amazing series!!!
I'm not going to rate this one because I ended up skimming the second half. I lost interest in the story and couldn't really get back into it.
This installment has a lot of quick action drama. What I mean by that is that every other chapter some world-shattering revelation comes to light, and must be acted on immediately, but there's no downtime to internalize or think through those events before the next drama arises. It got a little tiring for me.
What a great ending to this series! This world that Maya Nicole has created with these past 2 series have been just a joy to read! Sammys men come together and bond quite a bit in this book, the characters all have great personal growth, theres a good mix of steamy scenes and battle scenes. It’s an overall great book
I'm hoping this series doesn't end without knowing what happens to Earth. The meeting with Samara and her father was pretty depressing. Finding out that she is related to the Creator was quite a revelation and made so much sense. I wish there were some hints to her future besides their wedding. I'm still curious about her world.
Okay... that was not as fulfilling an ending as I was hoping for considering how much I had enjoyed the first two books. It wasn’t bad, over and done with too quickly after all the turmoil the group has been through over the course of the trilogy.
I wish the relationships between everyone in the harem had developed more, but all books must end somewhere. A very angsty vibe for a 3rd book with a good number of plot holes and lingering questions. Fun and playful banter, steamy bedroom scenes, and intriguing demon species keep this story high in stars.
How many lives does Picard have?!? I need more of him! He’s so funny! I need more of this world! I’m hoping Azrael has his own harem story too! Also what about the brother Creator dying?! He doesn’t have a son or daughter that we know of so where’s his power going?! Looking forward to reading more of Maya’s books!
Maya you have done it again!!! This was the funniest book in the series!! I wish there were more to come!! Loved Picard!!! Great story and very exciting ( 😉)
This might be controversial but I think that Val wasn't really contributing much to the group. Good end to the series with enough left open for a follow up or a change in mc (maybe Reve or an angel)
I’m so glad we got answers to all the questions in this last book of the series! This was a thrilling ride of emotion for me as I was afraid at times she would lose one of her guys but this was amazing! Must read for sure!
I have read all the books in this world and I hope their are more to come. I love that characters from the other books are in all of them. I hope to see more. Worth the buy and read.
This is the final book in the Infernal Council series and it did not disappoint me, it is as good as the rest of the books. I really love the way it ended. I would definitely recommend reading this book.
This series was a lot better than I thought it would be. It was perfectly balanced between plot/sex/character development. It had it's own spin on demons and I really liked that. It's worth the read and is also binge-able. Medium Burn.
You know it’s a good series when you dream about it after finally putting it down to sleep. Would love more I’ve read celestial academy and Widow with this series being the last one. I’m hoping there are more to find
Glad I read the series, but the story felt somewhat unfinished - mostly minor things (but those personally annoy me). They hint at a future series, but I’m left hanging if it is never delivered. Still would recommend the series.
This book was bloody amazing! I literally couldn’t put it down, I love the plot of the book, I love how well written the book was. But most of all, I loved the characters and how easy it was to relate to our heroine.
