Help me, I’m buying a house: A practical guide for buying your own home in England and Wales. From First Time Buyers, for First Time Buyers and those who don’t know what they are doing.
Almost 300 pages of hands-on guidance. An essential and fun read about buying your own home - from First Time Buyers, for First Time Buyers. Illustrated by Ben Jones to make you smile.
Comprehensive, helpful, easy to read. Information in this book is from before 2019 and needs to be updated - so much has changed in the past five years. But I also understand that the authors have full time jobs in their own fields and this book was a side project/byproduct of their house buying process. There probably won’t be a 2nd edition, alas.
Great guide, easy to use and comprehensive, with lots of tips. Quite a few spelling mistakes, which was a surprise. Needs a better edit, but that didn't impact on the info in the guide, so I didn't deduct points for it
I’ve read 3 books now on buying your first home and this one is certainly the most comprehensive.
More simple guides can be good at getting to the point and giving you a good overview of the house buying process but this really delves into what you can expect and what lessons the author has learnt through experience.
The book is split into easy-to-understand sections and guides you through the whole process from start to finish, featuring plenty of useful examples.
I’m sure this is another book which will prove invaluable for me to pick up and refer to relevant sections during my journey of buying my first home.
