Emily Stone, an internationally successful model on the brink of supermodel stardom, appears to have it all. All, except love, because Emily wants the kind of man who isn’t fooled by the pretty. She wants the kind of love that’s big enough and true enough to include her disabled sister and dysfunctional mother.
Nick was an A-list actor in tinsel town with a super-sized ego until a tragic car accident stole his wife, his unborn child, and his gilded career, leaving him physically and emotionally scarred.
When wintry French Island brings these two wayward souls home, shared childhood memories aren’t enough to bridge the deep divide forged by their adult lives and choices.
That is until Carmie, Emily’s delightful Down Syndrome sister, weaves her special kind of magic. Can Carmie’s boundless love and infectious joy help them to heal their broken hearts or will the glamour of Emily’s work-world whisk her away?

A sexy hero whose past is littered with mistakes falls in love with a beautiful model whose high-flying career is motivated by something very different from fame or money. I just loved the way these two forged a path together, despite so many obstacles and so much baggage. The supporting act - Carmie - was utterly gorgeous. I don't want to give too much away but I promise if you don't think that Nick, despite his flaws, isn't to die for, and Em totally serene and so thoroughly good at heart, then your heart will be engaged by young Carmie. This is a story that will make you cry. You'll be worried that Em and Nick won't find a way through to discovering how perfect each is for the other. And for so long it seems there's no way forward for them. I just loved the way this story was resolved. It was deeply emotional and satisfying. A masterful, emotion-grabbing read. I can't recommend it highly enough!
I found this book to be a fascinating read. It was decisive and so well written with a heart warming, soul searing ending. Miss Greene writes an emotional and compulsory read. This story has the ability to induce feelings that you did not see coming. The profoundness the author invokes through her characters is not only spellbinding but remarkable in allowing the reader to delve further within her story. Each reader is drawn to these characters with and through the authors words. Even with the flaws of these characters they are bound together. It is visually written and makes it easy to fathom all the dimensions of each character. I loved this book and I actually will be reading more from this author.

Nick has it all and lost it and is scarred from the experience. Emily is a supermodel and has it all except love. Emily needs someone who will love her and look past the beauty because Emily needs someone who will not only love her but her Down Syndrome sister Carmie and dysfunctional mother. When they meet will it be enough? I really loved that this book also showed a more down to earth and to include her boundless energetic sister. I think more books should have Carmie's in them. It was not just all glamour but also real life. Great story and wonderful characters. This is a must read.

This was a well written story about two characters that are broken but in different ways. Nick is a man who has lost everything in life and suffers from that loss daily. Emily’s dad walked out when she was young because of her sister with Down syndrome so she has learned to not become attached to people. Nick is amazing with her sister which brings healing to his suffering and shows Emily that people can be depended on. This book shows the progression of their healing and is a really sweet read.

Just try putting this down! The chemistry between the gorgeous Emily and mercurial Nick plays out against a beautiful French Island setting. From the moment Emily stepped off the boat I was hooked and couldn’t wait to read it each night. I may have snuck in a few chapters when I was meant to be working! Greene handles her material with sensitivity and sensuality, and steers the book to a beautiful conclusion.
Beautiful people with broken souls. Nick, a former actor once famous for his looks, devastated by mistakes in his past. Emily, a world famous model who hides a damaged childhood. Two broken souls united by their past and by Emily's engaging older sister Carmie, who has Downs Syndrome. Lexi Greene once again creates compelling characters in an Australian rural setting that calls to you. A beautiful read, hard really to put down.
It was so easy to get lost in the characters of this book. The way that their lives are portrayed really hits your heart and lets you understand them. I loved Carmie‘s character and her role in this book. I think that I was drawn to her the most as I have family members with Down’s and I understand how special they can make a family. Well done Lexi!

This is the first book in the Hearts of Glass series and it is truly a captivating story. The characters were well-developed and endearing and it was easy to get caught up in their story. I loved Nick and Emily but I think Carmie totally stole the show. This is a sweet, emotional, and heartfelt story that should not be missed. Beautiful story and highly recommended!

A beautiful read. I was captured by the characters and their histories, of their pain, their loves, and their commitments. And the setting transported me to another place, an escape to a scene in which I didn’t want to leave. I did not want to put this book down. Congratulations to author, Lexi Greene. Highly recommend this book.
A compelling story with strong, fascinating characters that give depth and substance to this romance. I felt so engaged in the struggles of Emily and Nick to forgive the past and share their authentic selves in the present. French Island is a beautiful setting that springs to life around the characters. Can’t wait to read more from this author!
4 1/2 stars I loved this story because it engaged my emotions. I was charmed by the sister, fell in love with the two main characters who weren’t perfect but rather perfectly flawed and found this story memorable. Nicely done.

It was beautiful story with great characters. Very fitting title. You can’t break the feelings. The pain and suffering, wrong accusations and tenderness. Love conquers all at the end, just have to believe. It’s good to lean on and love.

For a short and sweet romance, this book packs a punch!! I got totally lost in the story. The characters are so beautifully defined that it was easy to empathise with them. And I loved the French Island setting - made me want a weekend away. Can't wait to read Lexi's next book :-)

Good sweet book. Emily is a model. She’s trying to build up a nest egg to care for her mom and her sister Carmie. Nick was an actor. Can broken souls find each other? Love the sister, so adorable.
