He'll never forgive me...

Jamie swore to keep us safe from evil, but it was at our doorstep the entire time; just waiting for the perfect opportunity to strike. I led it into our home and once he finds out, I'll have to pay for my sins.

This world may have left me beaten and bloody, but it won't break me...

That's a power only he holds.

I did what I had to for my daughters and even if it means shattering my heart, I'll fight for them with everything I have left. I will shield and protect them from the cruelty of this world and they will never know what I endured that night to keep them safe.

We lie to protect the ones we love...

I've buried the truth so far down, he'll never find it.

Shannon Myers

Shannon is a born and raised Texan. She grew up inventing clever stories, usually to get herself out of trouble. Her mother was not amused. In junior high, she began writing fractured fairy tales from the villain's point of view and that was the moment she knew that she was going to use her powers for evil instead of good.

In 2003, she moved to Denver and met the love of her life. After some relentless stalking and a few well-timed sarcastic remarks, the man eventually gave in to her charms and wifed her so hard. They welcomed a son in 2007 that they named after their favorite Marvel superhero, Spiderman.

Sick of seeing beautiful mountains through their window every day, the three escaped back to the desolate landscape of the west Texas desert in 2009. She welcomed her second son not long after and soon realized that being surrounded by three men was nothing at all like she'd imagined in her fantasies.

After an unplanned surgery in 2014 and a long pity party, she decided to pen a novel about the worst thing that could happen to a person in order to cheer herself up. She's twisted like that. Thus, From This Day Forward was born and the rest, as they say, is history.

Not only does Shannon enjoy stalking people, she also has a fondness for being stalked. Visit her at www.shannonshaemyers.com to keep up with her latest schemes and shenanigans.

I was blessed with an advanced copy for my opinion and I'm gonna give you my honest opinion. First time doing this, so forgive me. No spoilers. And I will still be buying the book when it comes out.

This book is a continuation of the Silent Phoenix MC and you need to at least read Deserter first but I would recommend starting with Renegade and Traitor (Mike and Lauren's story) before Deserter and Protector. Then Operation Fit-ish and Operation Annulment to get Dakota and Kate's stories while you wait for Savior, the final story for this crazy ride.

Wow! What a rollercoaster of a ride! 😯 I laughed. I cried...a lot. I got mad. The end of Deserter left me with so much emotion it hurt waiting for Protector. However, the wait was worth it as this is Celia's story.

Celia is an amazing character. She's strong, fierce, a warrior and an all around badass. Grey calls her princess but she is a QUEEN! The love she has for her family, including Grey, because he's the love of her life, is limitless and she'll go to the ends of the earth and take on any pain sent her way for those she loves. The h*'ll this woman goes through and the betrayal that is around every corner is unbelievable. She is a protector but at the same time has her own protector.

The growth Celia and Grey go through is rough to read, there are graphic scenes in this book be warned. They aren't easy to read and I doubt easy to write, but Shannon put it all out there and watching the strength of her characters developed was incredible. I wish I could give examples but then I would spoil something and there are too many twists 😉 to do that to anyone.

If you have read any of her other books in the series, you'll start to get answers. If you're like me you'll want to go back and re-read them all.

Now to patiently wait for Savior to wrap this up and when you read the end of Protector you'll understand my impatience.

5 🌟 read for love and revenge.
Please don’t read this until you have caught up on all the history of the Silent Phoenix MC in Books 1-3: Renegade, Traitor & Deserter then Operation Duet with Fit-ish and Annulment.

You will fall in love with this unique dark storyline. It is not all flowers and promises of forever. It is raw and filled with need. Picking up where Celia was left broken and betrayed in Deserter, this book will leave you feeling empowered and begging for more. This page turner will make you lose track of time as you are engrossed in the highs and lows of coming back from the brink of death... for Jamie and Celia.

Can’t wait to read the rest of their story in Savior, coming in September.

Mind Blowing Read

Wow I have no words other than if you love MC stories then read this series but this is no happily ever romance story, it’s far from it. It’s dark, harrowing, heartbreaking and shocking in parts and the twists and turns keep coming. From reading several reviews there seems to be some confusion in the reading order but I suggest you trust the author and follow her reading order.

Will Celia and Jamie get their happily ever after? I don’t know as this ends on a cliffhanger as does book 3 and book 4 which is told from Mikey and Lauren’s point of view so I’m hoping book 5 will have all the answers. This is book 2 in the MC series so I’m not sure why it says book 4 in the heading??Absolutely fantastic read but be warned it may contain triggers for some readers.

And it keeps on going

So I picked up book 2 because I thoroughly enjoyed book 1 and wanted the conclusion to Celia and Grey’s story.... only there isn’t one. This book drags over 16 years of bad decisions and failed parenting only to end on another cliff hanger for Grey’s oldest child’s story.

I like series sometimes but this one has dragged on too long and each kid has their own story, but it’s a continuation of their parent’s story, again which has stretched out for nearly 20 years. They have 3 kids and I’m not interested in dragging this drama out any longer.

I am sure this would be a really good book for someone else. I, however, am done with it. Too much melodrama. I didn’t finish. After the 3rd thing happened I asked myself if I really wanted to go through the rest of this book. My answer was no.

5+ STAR Review by Jodi for Ruby Red Romance Review

Oh Grey and Celia...I'm not even sure where to start with this review. I will say...Shannon Myers has taken us on a real mind trip (totally wanted to use another word...but the powers that be would have blocked my review). I love these two with all I have. I cried over this story. My heart broke for two fictional characters, who feel like they are part of my family. The love I have for these two is like anything I've ever felt before.

Protector picks up where Deserter left off. If you've not read Deserter...then you aren't going to understand what is happening. You should anyway...it's an amazing story. You should also read the books before these two, but it's not required. I love how this story just flows. I love getting to see Grey and Celia as they grow. I want so much for these two. I love the man Grey is becoming, but I also the powerful and strong woman Celia is.

As someone who is an avid motorcycle enthusiast and someone who has been around MC's this book is about as real as it gets. It feels like you are right there with the Silent Phoenix MC feeling all the heartache, the love, the need for revenge. I love how real Shannon has made this book. I love the story. I love the emotion. I love the heart. This is so much more than a book for me. I've become invested in this story and I need to know what happens. I need to know this book ends the way I need it to. I need these two to be ok. Do you hear me Shannon?!? I know she does. She's seen my picture where I cried real tears over these two. I know she did as well. Shannon has put her heart and soul into two amazing characters and I love her so much for it. Please check out this amazing book!

If you've made it this far into the series, you know this world isn't pretty. It's rough, and violent, and happily ever after doesn't exist for many. You come here knowing even the day is full of terrors, and you do so willingly or not at all.

This is Celia's story. It is also the middle, which is often the hardest to write, the most difficult to read and the most risky place to lose track of the story. Don't worry about that with Protector. Not one bit. Shannon will take care of you (and by take care I mean beat your emotions to a bloody pulp and then sprinkle fairy dust on them before slapping on a Thor band-aid and sending you on your way to the next beating) and keeps the story tight despite all the threads she has to bring together.

Old wounds are going to rip wide open. New ones are going to get made. But there's healing here too. Jamie and Celia get a chance to live again. To grieve. To move forward. To rise from their ashes as something new and horrible and beautiful. Together. All the other characters get their moments too, and we're moving into the present with Mike and Kate and Dakota and everyone else we know and love from this world.

Buckle TF UP.

RECOMMEND, all day long.

My favorite series of 2019! It is EVERYTHING!

Wow!!!!! Just when I thought Shannon couldn’t f@ck with my head more, she proves me wrong! I can’t begin to express how much I am LOVING this series!

After that ending in Deserter, I needed Protector like I needed water. Thankfully, the author didn’t make us wait too long for the sequel.

Grey and Celia’s story is very raw, intense and heartbreaking. I cried several times. These characters are flawed, but even with all the mistakes they make, I love them so much. Shannon Myers doesn’t hold back or make it easy for them. She’s evil! That cliffhanger ending has me like 🤯🤯🤯🤯🤯 I need answers, need to know what happens next! This series is so suspenseful and I’m dying for the third and final book, Savior! Is it September yet?!

I absolutely LOVED this book !!!
It was amazingly written, as are all the other books in this series & Operations Duet.
The strength that Celia has to overcome the traumatic experience in Deserter is amazing.
Like I said in my ARC entry, I disliked her in the Operations Duet books. But seeing all she does not only for her daughters but for her husband is incredible.

All I gotta say to that is, ‘Don’t F**K with Celia!.’

I can’t wait to see what Savior brings for all of these characters.
September can’t come soon enough.

Amazing Read

An intense overwhelming emotional read that makes you want Celia and Grey to have their happily ever after. There are so many twists and turns that keeps you flipping the pages and I just want MORE.

Even though this is Book four in the Silent Phoenix MC Series it is Book Two for Celia and Grey and their story will continue in Book Five.

Favorite quote: Celia ~ “In order to change, we have to endure the pain. It’s your body’s way of telling you to let go.”

This book was awesome I couldn't put it down. I love how there is so much detail to the main character's story. Also love that we get so much info on all the surrounding character's.

The entire story is just (for lack of a better word) WOW!

PS.
I damn near cried like a baby over Slim
How could you do that to me :(

PPS.

ON MY FLIPPIN' GOD!!!! She did it again!! Book 2 is as good as book 1.

My heart is beating fast and my anxiety is running high, I just finish this book and I am already jonesing for the next one. Thank God their are 5 books written and 2 spin-off for the kids.

Absolutely as great as the first book, I can't wait to start book 3. This book is also left on a cliffhanger. But what is great is that you won't have to wait for the next one to come out cuz they are already out.

This series will definitely be bought in book form to go on my shelves. Will definitely recommend to others. So worth reading.

Speechless but in a good way.

I can't begin to explain what this book, this series is doing to me. My heart broke with Deserter, huge cliffhanger. Protector, is testing your mind. Keeping you on your toes. A Rollercoaster of emotions, angst and so powerful. Please beware this book is part of a series. Shannon Myers is a very talented author. Best series of the year. I can't wait for the next book.

I mean, god damn it!

Things really spun out of control in this one. The story continues where it was left with the previous book and if we thought that that was the peak and things are going to get better, we were wrong.
Things get worse, family is torn apart, the stuggle, the deceit, the lies...and years pass, the feeling of powerlessness increases... At some point the healing starts, but unfortunately too many years are lost in the whole process.

The whole Quinn family situation is really pulling at my heart strings - the price one must pay for the things they choose. And to realize, that it might not be the right choice is a hard pill to swallow.
I cried when Slim died. I knew that's what happened from the Mikey's books, but to see it up close and personal...I cried hard.

I don't agree with a lot of choices that Grey took and the way he just did his thing, but I guess that's how life works - choices and consequences - and unfortunately his choices were not all the right ones and consequences real hard to accept.

I hurt for a lot of people in this book, but it can't be all rainbow and sunshine all the time. I am however real hyped that we're moving on - it's like we've been going in circles around Grey's death and still don't know what is happening in the present. We've got the fundation laid up on all fronts, now I want to see what is going on moving forward.

If you are reading this book you will have just completed book 3 in the series ‘Deserter’ and if you thought that was raw you haven’t seen anything yet.

After the devastating incident that left Ceila unable to cry or feel she pushes Jamie away and spends 5 years getting through one day at a time but with a burning obsession that she will have her revenge - Jamie lives in hope that he will one day get the opportunity to be with his family again while seeking Revenge on the club that abused his wife.

When Celias mother takes her children away her one focus is to find and kill the men responsible for ruining her life and making her feel less than nothing. The night they raped and abused her they also took away the baby growing inside her - she will have her revenge....in blood.

Two people each drowning in grief now focused on one thing Retribution.

This story shows that each of us when pushed to our hard limit are capable of anything and I mean anything and some of us might just like it! But just when you think you might have all the pieces put back together something happens and your left with a cliff hanger roll on book 5 please let their be a happy ending !

Have you ever felt powerless? Lost control of your family and struggle to make things better? No matter what you do things you just can't seem to breathe.

We all have choices in life in which direction we turn. Whether it's the right or wrong choice we won't know until we travel down that path.  In the end we are held accountable for the choices we make. Grey and Celia knows this all too well.

Celia is every biker's dream of an Ol' Lady. The strenghth that she possess after all that she endured made her one badazz heroine. Look out Cobra, Manny and Hawk. You don't mess with a mama's babies.

Grey has to redeem himself for leaving his family. He is constantly twisted in knots with his decisions concerning his club and seeking revenge for the horrific tragedy that Celia has endued.

Just as you think things are progressing for the good the author once again rips your heart out, stomps on it, only to mend it back together before she repeats the process.

I'm so hooked on this fabulous series! I strongly recommend Silent Phoenix MC series!

There is a cliffy that will blow you away!!

This is 5 "my-heart-is-still-broken" stars for more in the saga that is Celia and Jamie...but please OMG they need a break and soon. I was hoping for more clarity and answers in this 4th book but we still have more to come and reveals before the (hopefully) less tragic ending. These two have endured so much but now I fear for their daughters...and that is making me scared and angry.
Read this series if you dare...it is brutally violent and passionate but still a slow burn because you will be left with more questions than answers after each book.

***** 4.5 ***** "praying for an end to the madness" stars

This is the 4th book in this phenomenal series, and is a continuation of Grey and Celia’s story, and carries straight on from where “Deserter” leaves off. This is not an easy story to read, as it is certainly not for the feint-hearted! This is a well written flawless story which is an emotional roller coaster journey, and is raw, gritty, dark, intense, heartbreaking, and is filled with betrayal, revenge, and love. I was totally captivated throughout this addictive page turner, and cannot wait to read the next book in this series.

READ THIS BOOK

I wish I were a writer, so that I could put into words what this book is, what this series is. If you have never read this author, please give her a shot. If you love a book that has you crying in the tub, clenching your fists on the couch and slowing your breathing to slow your heart rate, this will be the best book you’ve ever read. If you love alpha hero’s in unconventional ways and women who are warriors and can slay their own dragons, this is the book for you. You will love Grey and Celia and beg for more.

Wow. I thought I was angry at these two in book one but I went to bed disgusted and totally ready to read the next one. If you already read book on then know you are in for another ride. These two characters are so stubborn and can't get anything right. I love it, Myers knows that in real life we never get it right so why should our beloved characters. I can't believe I have to sit on my hands with how this book ends until next month. I'm ready, let's hope they get it together in the next one.
