About the author

Mindy Cockeram has been educating women and their partners about Childbirth and Breastfeeding since 2005. She certified through the University of Bedfordshire studying Antenatal Education in conjunction with the National Childbirth Trust's (NCT) Teacher Training College in London.

On the way to teach a childbirth class one evening in Wandsworth, South West London, she stumbled upon a woman in labor in the parking lot and 'caught' the baby before the ambulance arrived. "I knew there was a reason for that coincidence and that I was in the right line of work" she said in an interview with London's ITV.

After 20 years in the UK, Mindy and her family relocated to Southern California in 2010 where she certified with Lamaze International. She now writes for several online publications and teaches childbirth education and breastfeeding both privately and for a large hospital organization several times a week. Her first book Cut Your Labor In Half: 19 Secrets To a Faster & Easier Birth was published in November of 2017. Breastfeeding Doesn't Have to Suck: Tips, Tricks & Knowledge for a Great Experience was released in September, 2019. She is currently writing a 3rd book for 2nd or subsequent pregnancies.

absolutely recommend!!

In our house, we’ve started thinking of Mindy as the hype woman/ reassurance queen that every pregnant or postpartum person needs! I took Mindy’s breastfeeding and L&D class before reading this book, and I still found it incredibly helpful. I wish I had read it sooner! Absolutely recommend!

Maybe I should review this book after I actually get to apply the things 🤪 Picked up this one right after I finished Cockeram's book on labor and delivery because I loved that one. It was very practical and evidence-driven but still felt very interesting. An easy and quick read for me. Highlighted a lot and likely will reference back. I would recommend this book to a new mom. I had heard a lot of these things before from friends and the internet, but it was very helpful to have it confirmed and all in one place.
