Will the strength of their love for one another be enough?
Life has just started to look up for Jamie. He has a job at the Moore Manor. He is finally free of his abusive uncle. He has a friend who genuinely cares for him. But when the attentions of the Hotel owner’s son begin to threaten his newfound peace, Jamie worries.
Riley doesn’t appreciate being summoned to Moore Manor. But while at home, he meets the most beautiful young man he’s ever seen. He wants to court the younger man, but his mother complicates his intention with a shocking revelation. Not to mention the Vampire he can’t seem to stop fantasizing about.
Ben’s been sent to find a nuisance witch. He needs to put all thoughts of a destined soul mate out of his head and focus on the task ahead. But when he realizes that the witch is more powerful than he originally thought, his priorities shift. He must now protect the two men with everything he has, even if one of them wants nothing to do with him.
Can Jamie, Riley, and Ben navigate their complicated lives, the threat of a wicked witch with a grudge and their forbidden love for one another?
Broken Triangle is the first installment in the Eternal Soulmates Series, a sexy saga of stories about vampires, witches, werewolves and humans. If you love your stories steamy, action-packed and emotional, then you’ll love Elle W Silver’s first book.
I was given a free copy of this book in exchange for a honest review.
This book is very hard for me to rate. I have a lot of mixed feelings going on right now.
Pros: 1. I really enjoyed the storyline. I liked the concept of witches and vampires coming together to fight a rogue witch. 2. I did like the characters. Since this is the first book in the series, the characters intrigued me enough to want to learn more about them and see how they end up. 3. The ending. It is a cliffhanger but it was well done. 4. Like the idea of male witches.
Cons: 1. The story was rushed. Everything moved very fast without a lot of details. A lot of things were "said" and not really explained. 2. Insta-love. There was a definite insta-love feel. I know they were fated to be together, but that doesn't mean they should fall instantly in love. (This is a personal no no for me) 3. There were a few editing issues. Sometimes, especially when they were talking mentally with each other, I got confused with who was speaking. Also I think incorrect pronouns were used at times. 4. The characters. I know I had this in the pro column but it is a con as well. I liked the characters and am invested in them, but they also annoyed me. Very emotional, all of them.
In the end I'm going to have to go with 3 stars. I enjoyed it, but didn't exactly love it.
got this book as a freebie in return for an honest review.
I really enjoyed this book. loved the story line and the characters. the gradual adding of the triangle of love and lust is cleverly done and you see the strength of their love evolve. the first part of the ending a bit unexpected but the final part comforting. it is eternal soulmates after all.
I don't like leaving low rated reviews, but I was given a copy of this book for my honest review and I intend to follow through.
Overall, the plot of the story isn't what I disliked. In fact, it's one aspect of the story I enjoyed. I was interested in the magic system, the creatures, but what I didn't love so much was the characters. They just felt very unrealistic and I wasn't attached to any of them. They were too emotional and there were so many exclamation points it drove me crazy. It made the characters, who were already emotional, seem more emotional which I didn't like.
Overall, not my cup of tea, but I do recommend you give it a try. Just because I didn't personally enjoy the book, doesn't mean you won't either.
First this book is set in a time difference, when it was against laws set for men to have "intimate feelings" for one another. from the first page it grasp you with Benito was being punished for a crime he never committed. Holy flames licking at his skin when a stranger appeared. Jamie is trying to get out from under his uncles thumb. when the Lady Moore offers him a spot in the manor's kitchen. When Riley is summoned home he meets the newest member of the house hold.. Jamie. When strange events start happening, the moose house is turned upside down with the supernatural that one young man stuck in the middle.
I couldn’t read it. The Prologue, set in the 15th Century, had the main character using language that wasn't used in that era. "Sexual advances," "attraction to the same gender" and things of that sort. Those were the most egregious errors but there were more.
Move forward to the 18th Century and it doesn't get any better. The language continues to be modern. There was too much in the way of familiarity among the unequal. Even someone working in a manor and one living in poverty would not easily mix.
I gave up. Setting aside the modern language, the word choices were terrible. "So," "still" and "well, maybe" were often used at the beginning of the sentences. It does not come off well.
I would have liked to see how this story progressed but the writing style is so bad that I can't continue. Don't bother with this book. Unless it is rewritten with a competent editor it will only be an exercise in self-flagellation.
I was into the concept of the story. But as I got further in, my interest began to drop. The actual story seemed to drag out. There were almost too many sex scenes between actual story. It was also hard to follow, as the author didn’t create clear dialogue, so I would have to reread sections to understand who was speaking. There was also telepathy, that wasn’t distinguished from narrator prose. There was a lot of build up to a final battle, that didn’t happen, and what was there felt rushed. As curious as I am about the next part of the story. The quality of this one makes me less interested.
Love this book only sad at the end when one has to die but like magic he will come back they just don’t know where or when,,,,,I already ordered the next book,The author did a wonderful job writing this book
Broken Triangle is the first book in the Eternal Soulmates Series. It focuses on a love triangle between Jamie who is a baker, Riley who is a male witch, and Ben who is a made vampire. It tells of how they all come together while being persued by a dark witch. The premise of the book and the plot are good. I quite enjoyed the overall story. However there were several small inconsistencies that stood out, such as one minute Ben couldn't feel Jamie's presence then suddenly a sentence or two later he could with no provocation. There were also quite a few editing mistakes, mostly using one word when it should have been another. Kinda like auto correct did it wrong and no one notice. If things like that bother you and can't be overlooked than this is not the book for you.
Introductory novel in a series set in American colonial times. The characters of the titular Triangle are introduced and filled out as well as familial support cast and a few bad guys. The setting feels a bit too modern, but magic is on play. And the heat level continues to ratchet up as the entertaining plot scrolls to a satisfying epilogue.
As I am a gatherer of books, I collect books and ebooks from a variety of sources: Goodreads wins, BookBub, BookFunnel, emails from authors and publishers, Smashwords, and others. I do lose track of their sources. But, as a reader, I feel I should give an honest, unencumbered review for all I read.
I have to say I really liked this book and i am looking forward to reading the second book! The love and relationship building with the love triangle was pretty good and super sweet! I really liked that Riley and Jamie had a serious discussion about their feelings about Ben before anything happened with Ben. All three characters seemed like they really loved each other but also very much respected each other.
I'm not usually one for triangle but I really enjoyed this one
I love the fantasy element of the story and it's well written. I enjoyed following along as the relationship between the three of them grew and I look forward to more.
It was a good story that I really liked and got into. The only thing I didn't like was the flow of the story needed a lot of work. But can't wait for the next book.
This was DNF for me, the premise while good and intriguing couldn't hold my attention due to stilted dialogue, poor editing and the story bouncing around. I feel like a good editor and a secondary revision could definitely make this a 5 star of given proper attention.
