Demonic Tales #4

Demons Don't Dare

Rate this book
As the ruler of an empire, King Vict’arin is accustomed to living a life that is anything but normal. Unable to enjoy the simple things in life the way his demons do, he chooses to live and work for the good of his citizens. Lonely and tired, he finds solace with his family, enjoying watching his new grand-demonesses grow. Longing for more, he begins preparing to pass the crown onto his son so he can relax for a change.
Commander Dima Carilion has lived through the worst of what the universe has to offer, including being forced to watch his brother die at the hands of those he should have been able to trust. Unable to stay in the Alliance, Dima leaves his career and the life he knew behind, helping others work to bring change to the universe and stop the evil forcing its way from one world to another. With the help of powerful friends and allies, he sets out to find others, aiding in their quest to return peace to the universe.
Delivering a message to the Demon King, Dima finds himself in unknown territory and surrounded by a race filled with warriors. Yet, not only is he welcomed by them, he feels a kinship to them— these are men of honor, reminding him of his brother, and those under his command. The one thing he’d never expected was to find himself attracted to the king. Vict is unlike any man he’s ever met, and there’s a peace inside his soul when the two of them spend time together.
While wanting to help as much as possible, Kenistal is facing its own crisis. Infighting between the guilds is on the rise, and rumors swirl around them. Who is plotting, and what are they planning? As Dima starts to believe he might find peace, a new home, and something special with Vict, a power struggle between the guilds leaves Kenistal in chaos.
Vict finds himself drawn to Dima, even though he’s never been with a man before, and hasn’t even considered it. Yet, this pull is stronger than anything he’s ever experienced before, even with his treacherous ex-queen, who he’d been mated to for years. Could Dima be what he needs, can things work out between them, and more importantly, will the demons he rules over accept a him having a non-demon mate?

Demons Don’t Dare by Hannah Walker
Rating: 4 stars
For the most part, I really enjoyed this book. I like this series way more than I do the Avanti series. I loved both Dima and Vict and thought they had great chemistry together. I found the book to be extremely touching in places and was practically in tears at one point in the story. My biggest complaint is the repetitiveness of this authors writing. She repeats things frequently. She also tends to have her characters spend a lot of time praising each other. Gets old after a bit. I really think the book would have been just a little better if she had paired it down a bit. Overall though, I really liked this book and thought it a great addition to the Demonic Tales series.

The MCs read like girls and the book drags along quite a lot. The only saving grace were the red guild baddies who provided some action and distraction from the appalling writing.

I would really like to read the continuation of this series. I like the Barin Alliance Universe and would love to read more about the other characters.

I did a series re-read.

After I read Demons Don't Duel in February this year (2019), I wrote a review saying I want more Demons!
Please, Hannah Walker, if you read this, I still want more Demons! And more Avanti men (can you please write about Cayvic and his men and don't forget Evan; I'm in love this world.

I need to know, how the story about the Barin Alliance continues.

Besides that, I also see many hours spend re-reading these wonderful books.

Alien Sci Fi MM Romance

3 stars!

I really like the whole crazy Avanti Chronicles/Demon world and I recommend reading them in proper order to have the best impact for story sequence.

I'm glad the king of the Demon's has finally found his mate. It was an interesting story I just found it to be really long and, at times, boring. I did like seeing all my favorites Demons/Avanti again and I really hope this author writes more stories set in this crazy sci fi world!

Overall, a solid addition to the series.

My favorite of this series so far. I love the connection between the MC's, their camaraderie and easy banter and developing love. They are both strong men who had a tough past to overcome. It is beautiful to see them come together and become even stronger together. I am so happy that the king finally got his mate and that it it never to late to find love and never to late to learn something new about one self. What I love as well is that the two MC's have no fixed "roles" or "positions" in the bedroom.

A story to read over and over again!

Loved this book like all the others and once again want to read the whole series. I’m advocating for Jaebee and his team in reading this book I’m hoping that you can do a “Steve Austin”. I know it sounds impossible with the series of events but he (jaebee) sounds like a man of great integrity. There’s nothing that states what happened after events. Who knows the resistance could of found him and there was a spark. 🤷🏾‍♀️

I had fun reading this one. It never occured to me that Vict’arin would have his own book but I enjoyed watching the Demon King dote on his granddemonlings and fall in love with his own human. I liked Dima who was a fighter and good with politics end up with Vict’arin. It was also a lot of fun to watch Vict’arin with his family. The overreaching plot between this series and the Avanti chronicles moves a little bit forward with this book as well.

Outstanding, ♥️ King Vict + Dima

I adore this universe! Dima is a wonderful character and this story explodes with action, intrigue and romance. Hannah Walker has created a universe with hot Avanti men, hot Demons and hot Landrans which will make you cry, laugh and wish she would write faster!

Exciting

We have the demon king trying to put back together what the reds tried to destroy. We also have Dima on the run from the alliance both men develop a friendship. Then Dima began to realize he has feelings for the King. Suddenly the reds are at it again wanting to take over will Dima and the king survive. Will the King Vict realize he has feelings for Dima.

Wonderful series!

I love the characters that Hannah has created and the worlds and starships that she had stood them on to do amazing things. I would love to see these people do more and maybe play a part in the grand scheme of things outside of their sector. Thank you for another great book to read!

I'm not finished and I'm on chapter 26 but I don't need to finished to say what a great book and what I would believe as a wonderful ending and I'm looking forward to the next book. I'm so glad Vict gets his story told I laughed and cried but I'm not surprised Hannah Walkers books are amazing at best. Can't wait to finish this book and wait for the next story to be told.

My least favourite book of the series.

My least favourite book of the series. Ideology shoved down your throat, partially thanks to over long paragraphs. Lacking usual finesse. Too many thoughts over explained dragged me out of the rhythm of the story.
Will look forward to book 5 - assumption based on one observation made by Dima!

Excellent as always

I loved that Vict got to experience his own HEA after having seen so many of his demons find their own. It was interesting seeing Dima first be only a good friend, and then have that relationship develop into something deeper.

Great book

I was so happy that Vice found his mate. No one could understand him as much or see him as just a demon like Dima did. They were perfect for each other.
