I will never get enough of Leo's POV. Dude literally thinks ONE, just one, nice thing about Alisa and here I am freakin MELTING.
I did like this story, short and simple. I'm glad to finally take a look into Leo's brain, it's always hard to tell how he's feeling. God damn, I love this man.
Short, but shows movement and growth in character. I enjoyed Leo's POV. It definitely hit different than Alisa's. The last scene was sad. And I wish I could hug our cyborg too.
Although short, this snapshot into Leonidas's mind was so fun and a nice change of pace. I also really liked some serious one on one between Leonidas and Alisa which in the ever-lively Nomad is rather rare. Maybe not a necessity for story comprehension but if you have the chance then I wouldn't pass it up!
I didn't read this, I listened to it. I know, some of you idiots like to call listening reading. Perhaps you need to pull out a dictionary and read that... or listen. Is Webster on Audible? Hmmmmm.
Anyways, I was able to get my hands on the first three books of this series for free. I spent a good portion of ten days or so after the earthquake freezing, without heat, and under a mound of blankets too emotionally drained to do anything but play app games and listen to this. It was a good way to turn my mind off and recharge for those few hours a day I would actually do life and help my city recover from the ruins. Nothing special in the series and I am sure I will forget all about it in time, but it was good enough to hold my attention for a time.
A well written story with cyborgs and extraterrestrial action. Certainly fits in well with the rest of the author's Fallen Empire series. The reader learns more about the main characters. The environment the have to live and work in also becomes more obvious.
A nice little short story to buff out my reading challenge quota, and it was interesting as the story takes characters perspectives from the third person, but you still get to see inside their own heads. This time we got to see the perspective of a different character in the series and not the main one, which was refreshing. Overall was a nice little stop off before book 3.
Starfall Station is a shortish interlude on the friendship developing between Alisa and Leonidas against the background of the efforts people will make to capture/ kill especially Leonidas what with that huge reward on his head. Incidentally it also offer a little more insight on the pervasive lawlessness prevailing on Alliance subsequent to the ending of the Alliance/ Imperial war. Enjoy.
Very quick little interlude with Alisa and Leonidas. Quips, fighting, a little flirting and realisations about Leonidas' situation. I have a feeling this one will pay off in the next book too, so let's see what happens.
Okay...I cheated...I didn't read it; I listened to the audiobook narrated by Kate Reading. It was terrific. I'm fascinated by the concept of cyborgs, and this story did not disappoint. If you like the genre, this story is a keeper.
Probably shouldn't be counting these novellas as part of my yearly reads, especially this one considering it's part of a larger omnibus, but to hell with the count! This one was just too good and exactly what I wanted from Buroker.
A very short story that serves to further develop the relationship between our heroine and her cyborg passenger. Very fast paced and recommended reading at this stage of the Trilogy.
