Two things make me stand out: my femme clothes and my long hair. When a jerk catcalls me, I don’t expect a stranger to step in—and I certainly don’t expect a rescuer as handsome as Eric.
I thought he was straight until our plan to get drinks after work turns into something more. He’s second-guessing his straightness, but I swore off being someone’s experiment a long time ago.
I won’t budge on that. Not even for Eric. Not even when he’s all I can think about. Not even when I’ve totally fallen for him.
But I’ve been too careful with my heart to let Eric break it all over again.
ERIC:
What do I find hot? Long hair, dresses, and Avery.
When I step in to help a stranger being catcalled, I didn’t think I’d find a man like Avery under those long locks. What’s more, I can’t get him out of my mind.
I’m not gay, but one mind-blowing night with Avery changes everything. He feels better in my arms than anyone ever has.
But he’s being cautious, and I don’t blame him—I was a married straight man until a few months ago. The problem? While he’s holding back, I’m falling even harder.
I want to take a chance with Avery, but I need him to trust me.
This is the third book in the Femme Fox series. It can be enjoyed as a standalone with no cliffhanger.
5 stars for a delightful story that tackled a delicate issue. Avery is a gorgeous, long haired, dress and heels wearing, vibrant gay man.
Straight, divorced Eric, a successful Real Estate man,
saw Avery, and couldn’t look away from the gorgeous man. Eric treated Avery like the precious gem he is, and Eric knew, his straight status was gone. GFY.
These men are deep in thought about the huge changes happening, each a bit angsty and insecure. Eric’s Aunt is a horrible person, but his grandpa is accepting.
I liked this pair, fitting together so well, with really hot sexy fun times, first time M/M for adventurous Eric, who thoroughly satisfies his man.
I liked Avery and Eric's story just fine but not quite as much as the others in the series. It follows the same formula as the others though, with some humour, a bit of angst, a good deal of on-page steaminess, and romantic moments. Maybe I just didn't feel the chemistry between Avery and Eric quite as much, and I felt maybe the ending could have been a bit more HEA focused. But despite that, I enjoyed their story and as always with Jason's work, I loved the unashamed way Eric was able to go about his attraction to Avery. Always feels refreshing and positive.
Spoiler alert below: I really loved this book. It's one of my favorite mm romances I've ever read. I think the sex was hot as hell and lots of super funny parts. I liked the ending with Grandpa's story too. However the one tiny detail that bothered me was how much Avery doubted everything. And I get that that is part of his personality...and why he probably does this because this world still has way too many bullshit people like Aunt Esther who judge. Honestly I could write a whole different review on that subject alone. But anyway, in this book it just always felt like Eric wasn't good enough. What if Eric's Grandpa didn't support them? Would Avery leave or freak out? Why would Eric's love not be enough? Just seemed like no matter how beautiful this story was I just wish Avery gave Eric a smidge more credit, because it felt like Eric derserved more at times.
Gay for you. This was a okay read a few things let it down. I think that Avery was too needy, sure he had issues. He just wanted too much reassurance and was not counting on trust. I actually almost did not finish.
Living your truth can be lonely. I really loved this story of acceptance, learning to trust and giving and accepting love. Their was something really authentic about these characters that i think a part of all of us longs for. The willingness of our partner to give unconditionally and be willing to accept the best that we can do. Day by day, month by month but to choose us. I loved getting to see the friends from the previous books, it really made the story feel connected.
I love Eric's grandfather and the side story about him was really special. Avery's mom is wonderful an i would love to see all the family meet at some point in the future.
Avery and Eric are combustible, intense, steamy in all the best ways. Both men have been betrayed, used and often not appreciated. I loved that they found this amazing connection and were willing to give each other the space to be themselves.
This is book three of the Femme Fox series and i think it is my favorite. These can be read as stand-alone stories, however i do recommend each of them for your reading pleasure.
I was gifted this book from the author and i freely give my honest opinion and review.
This is a great addition to the series. The flow was strong and the characters so real. Jason has a way of making controversial characters so likable. Again that is the way it is with Avery. He is a guy with little hope for a serious relationship. Then he meets Eric. Eric is totally another personality. This is first time gay for him yet he is so attracted to Avery. I enjoyed how Eric’s grandfather dealt with Avery. The secondary characters bring so much to the story. I found it interesting how both guys seemed to face insecurity. I also am happy with the ending. I didn’t foresee Eric’s grandfather playing such a big part of that. I did feel that Avery and Eric’s story is more a HFN ending and hope to read more about them.
I received this book for free and am giving my honest and voluntary review
A gay crossdresser, Avery, meets Eric, a divorced straight man, and they go through their hang-ups while trying to hookup with each other. The views and acceptances of others play a large part with jealousy and keep the reader wondering what will happen next. A book that covers a lot about gays and comes up with a HEA.
Honestly, I thought Taylor was the best char I've read out of all of Jason Collins' books, but Avery quickly took top spot!
"Gorgeous" is the third (and last) book in The Femme Fox trilogy and I just want to give it 10 stars. It is THAT good, the best one of the trio... in my opinion.
Each book focused on a single pair but with the others weaving their way into the books. In this book, Avery is the top char as he gets it on with Morgan's realtor, Eric.
Taylor is the gayest of the gay, Morgan more serious, and Avery is the most femme of the Fox trio. Avery likes very pretty things, especially in attire and accessories. He's also very insecure but falls head over high-heels for his best mate's Realtor, Eric.
This book outlines all the emotions perfectly, along with the self-doubts, insecurities, public views, and continuous proof that Avery does not need to change for anyone.
There is especially one particular sub-plot way later in the book that I was incredibly fond of that had to do with Eric's grandfather.... and I don't post Spoilers.
If you're new to the world of Jason Collins, then The Femme Fox trilogy is an excellent place to start. Thank you!
Avery & Eric's story is the third in this series. While it *can* stand-alone, it's better enjoyed when read in series order. Avery is femme and enjoys the prettier side of fashion though he does not always feel safe and/or comfortable in the clothing choices he most prefers. Eric's never been attracted to men before, but there's something about Avery that draws him in and he does not want Avery to change a thing. Aww! It's not all fluff and sunshine, there are a few moments of not-so-nice secondary characters being rude and/or mean, but they get through it together with a nice solid-enough ending.
Just finished this series, all the books are amazing, there all a must have!!! There perfect by themselves as stand alone stories, but as a series there even better, the character's just keep building. I with there were more! There's never enough of the good ones! You always want to look in on them 5 or 10 years later just to see just how perfect there lives still are!
The third and final in the Femme Fox series and I enjoyed them all immensely, I LOVE femme men. Avery is cute but Eric is the one I loved, so sweet and gallant, going from straight to gay without much hesitation, he loved Avery that much. I always enjoy Jason Collins books, never fails to entertain. Eric’s aunt was horrendous but it added a bit of angst to the story, the surprise was his grandfather, that was a good twist in the tale. I just loved these two men, gonna miss them.
I very much enjoyed this book! The characters were enjoyable (except one) and the only real problem I had was with the attitude at times. It got incredibly boring to me when Avery kept waiting for the shoe to drop. Just accept it: he likes you!! Jeez! However it wasn't enough to make me close the book so, kudos to the author. Recommended esp. if you like 'femme' books which I clearly do apparently.
Avery loves to wear beautiful dresses and makeup and has gorgeous long hair. In a word he is stunning and if you don't look too close he passes for female. Alex stops one day to give Avery assistance and at first mistakes him for a woman, but quickly realizes he's male. Alex has always been straight but is immediately attracted to Avery. These guys are not expecting a real relationship. Alex went through a painful divorce and Avery has a past of guys just using him for his looks, or the novelty of a femme guys. Their love when it happens is beautiful and I highly recommend this book.
Loved all three of these beautiful young men and their stories. The love interests fit each MC to a tee. I also enjoyed the side characters. Having some believe you're beautiful and special is the ultimate gift. And sometimes what we're not looking for is the very thing we need.
My second favorite of the series. These books are low angst and just good old-fashioned romance novels. Jason Collins is consistent with his writing style, from series to series.
I really loved this book. Avery and Eric were so amazing together. I love their chemistry. However I would love a short book on Arnold and Charlie. That was so sweet! Made me love this book more.
I think I loved this book most in this series! Avery and Eric are just so wonderful caracters and perfect together! Averuy is this neautiful, unapologetically femme man, who's used to being on his own and has learnt how to take care of himself; but when a handsome man comes to his rescue while he's being catcalled, he cannot help but fall for the knight in shining armour. Eric has always been straight: recently divorced, he devotes all his life to his realtor business; but when he rescues what he thinks is a gorgeous woman by a catcaller, his surprise in finfding out it's actually a man doesn't detract from the fact he still thinks Avery is the most gorgeus person he's ever met, and ehwn they get to know each other, he makes him feel like no one else has ever done. Avery is skittish, he's not used to relationship and he's not sure he believes in forever. Eric uses all his powers and all his tactical skills to get closer and closer to Avery like approaching a scared animal who's probably going to bolt. I hated Eric's aunt and I absolutely adored his grandfather. There's a whole story behind this that I won't spoil, but it surely deserves reading!
Chivalry can lead to surprises. Avery wears women's clothes feeling very comfortable with himself. He was vivacious and beautiful and tried to meet the expectations of the world. But that wasn't who he is. He longed for someone who 'saw' him. Eric, divorced realtor stepped up when he thought Avery was being harrassed. Eric was selling Morgan's apartment. He finds Avery the most fascinating enteresting real person he's ever met. He admires Avery owning who he is. Eric is straight, but feels an attraction a pull toward Avery. Eric was comfortable who he is, but he is unsure of his Grandfather's reaction to his change in preference. His Aunt Esther made her homophobia very clear. Will Eric let his family control his happiness? Can Avery set his baggage down? The author handles the struggle of bravely embracing one's sexuality with sensitivity, humor and romance. It was nice seeing all the couples have fun. Well done!
Avery loves to dress like a woman and has good taste. Eric is straight...or at least he thought he was. Eric saves Avery from a stalker on the street They two discover they are acquainted to Morgan who is Avery's best friend and who has Eric as his realtor. Avery pics Eric interest and he quickly realizes he isn't as straight as he thought. It's a lot of work to convince Avery that he really is interested in him and is quickly falling in love. Eric's Aunt Esther is as homophobic as you can get and works closely with Eric in his business. His Grandpa Arnold has secrets to come to light that avery just has to explore. An HEA/HFN ending is given to us readers. An excellent read. I voluntarily read and reviewed this ARC book.
I really wanted to like Avery. I wanted him to be so much more than he was. He wasn’t my favorite person in the first two books, so I was really hoping to get some depth here. He came across as whiny and scared nearly all the time. Blowing up at Eric for simply talking to someone else doesn’t scream stability to me. Eric was adorable and patient and understanding, nearly to the point of gagging. Don’t get me wrong, I liked Eric a lot, I just wish he has told Avery to knock it off with the dramatics once or twice.
Overall, not completely terrible but book, I was just hoping for a little more for Avery.
I have to admit that this is my favorite book in the series. I laughed out loud several times. Avery and Eric have terrific on page presence. They get each other and the quips just kept coming. For all the good times they both have some issues with trust to work through. Avery especially is unsure that Eric’s interest isn’t just a passing curiosity. He wants Eric, wants what he’s offering but is afraid to take it. Eric is comfortable with his affection for Avery everywhere but with his family. I loved the twist that occurred with Eric’s grandfather. The ending left me smiling.
I was so happy to get Avery's story and what a great one it is. Eric is just perfect for Avery, he truly accepts him just the way he is and doesn't want to change anything about him. It was wonderful watching Avery and Eric grow closer throughout the story and I absolutely love Eric's grandfather! I hope there is more to come from this series because I am truly enjoying it and love seeing all the couples. I voluntarily reviewed an advanced reader copy of this book.
Gorgeous, is the third book in the Femme Fox series by Jason Collins. This contemporary m/m romance tells the lovestory of Avery and Eric. The story has a bit of angst, some humor, lots of steam and some sweet moments between two great characters. I love Avery and Eric and their chemistry. Very satisfying read.
