Jesus Christ, Disciplemaker

Rate this book
Thomas doubted. Peter denied. Matthew had a shady past. And most of Jesus' disciples had trouble understanding his true message and mission at times. How did Jesus take lowly fishermen and tax collectors and turn them into some of the most influential men that ever lived? And how can modern church leaders empower regular church members to meet their potential as servants of God?
In Jesus Christ, Disciplemaker, Hull outlines Christ's methods in training his twelve disciples and presents a biblical pattern that emulates Christ's model for reaching the lost. By taking readers through four growth phases-evangelizing, establishing, equipping, and leading-Hull shows how these principles can be adapted for any discipler.
Jesus Christ, Disciplemaker is the perfect resource for pastors and church leaders who want to learn how to help others grow in God's service.

Bill Hull lays out the imperative and importance of disciples of Christ making disciples for Christ. Hull also gives the reader a strategy of how to make disciples as he shows Jesus' perfect example while He was physically on earth. Hull gives Jesus' method of disciple making using four stages: 1. Come and see. 2. Come and follow me. 3. Come and be with me. 4. Remain in me.
All in all the book is very helpful and will be a valuable resource for my own disciple making in the future.

Hull does a fine job laying out a framework of discipleship that he sees in the Gospels. This isn’t a perfect book, but the wisdom found within will be used by me for future training. Not only does this book give practical instruction for ministering to others, but offers convicting challenges to me as a reader for my own life.

It's very well written, going through all four steps of discipleship in a very engaging and powerful way. This is one of those must-read books for every Christian, as it motivates one to be like Christ in everything that we do. Just acting like Christ a little bit more would change so much.

Jesus Christ, Disciplemaker takes you through Jesus' ministry on earth and shows how He progressed in relating with His disciples in preparing them for building the church after He left. There is so much knowledge and practical information to uncover and I guarantee that you will learn something new.

Read this book! You will not regret it.

Pretty good read on discipleship and how to help others - how disciples make disciples! Used in my sermon prep on a "making disciples" topical sermon in August. Highly recommended by a seasoned pastor in the EFCA.

Above-average book on discipleship though it probably could have gotten the point across with fewer pages. However, it was well organized and would be well-suited for organizations or people looking to craft and implement a discipleship plan.

Amazing book of how Jesus taught his disciples how to trust Him and lead for Him once He left. Which then is applied in our own lives of what the Lord has entrusted to us.

I read this book for school, and am very glad that I have had the opportunity to read this book. It has completely changed my perspective on discipleship and has challenged me to re-evaluate how I live my life to disciple others. Especially in the context of my personal ministry.

thought this book did a pretty good job simplifying the process of discipleship. I liked the four fundamentals presented in scripture, prayer, fellowship and witnessing. thought the phases he presented were a bit rigid and time orientated but overall liked and agreed with the principles. worth the read.

This was a great book. Walking through looking at Jesus work with the 12, his heart, his goals, his methods and most of all our heart in discipleship and how we should drive it to godliness, some may argue holiness and humility too ;)!

One of the best books I have ever read. I read this every couple of years. It doesn't get old. It really shows us our responsibility as Christians is to disciple others. Great work!
