This brief volume presents a history of the cosmos with a reflection of the Christian scriptures. It is well written and clear, meant for a general, rather than a scientific, audience. The book is divided into three parts with several chapters. The first part sets up the presentation. The second part contains short chapters, about 2 pages, focusing on the history and are presented in a compelling, suspenseful format ending with the phrase, "Wow, what happened next?" And the third part makes the religious case for caring for creation, related specifically to Pope Francis' encyclical, Laudato Si', on the care of creation.

This volume is nicely done and accurate as a summary of the events as science presents them. The simple, yet engaging writing style makes the book quite useful for reflection and religious/spiritual engagement of these events, human place within creation/nature, and human responsibility.

The book contains an Acknowledgements section, the three parts divided into chapters, a section of Sources, and a few blank pages for Notes.

Highly recommended. The book would make a great tool for personal or group study and reflection on the current state of nature and conservation.

A short, easily read reflection on our relationship with the created order as we understand it, through the twin lenses of modern science and the Bible. It has a profoundness that far outweighs its size.
