They already learned the hard way that they don’t belong together…
Moody omega Elijah Johnson is a total recluse. His anxiety disorder keeps him from having any kind of a life outside the confines of his house—social, romantic, or otherwise. Despite this, Elijah has achieved great success as the author of a popular fantasy book series—which he writes under an anonymous penname, JH Faustbend. But Eli’s commitment to lonerism is tested when his online friendship with a trusted beta reader “JBox283” grows romantic. Could sparks be flying over his computer screen?
When Elijah’s pressured to do his first public book signing, JBox283 says he'll be there in person. Risk-averse Elijah is scared, but he knows it may be time to put himself out there again, and give this whole "love" thing another shot—after his one and only attempt eight years ago with alpha Chance Styles ended in total heartbreak.
But you never know who you’re really talking to online. When JH Faustbend and JBox283 finally meet in person, both are utterly mortified to discover their true identities: JBox is actually Chance, the alpha who broke Eli’s heart so long ago.
An emotional confrontation between the bitter exes leads to an impulsive night of passion. Deeming the encounter a terrible mistake, both decide to move on and pretend it never happened—until a pregnancy test comes up positive, and they can no longer avoid each other.
Old wounds still haven’t healed, though, and it’s gonna take hard work to move past all the hurt and pain of the past. Can Chance and Elijah learn to forgive each other, and rediscover what made them fall so deeply in love the first time around? Or is history doomed to repeat itself?
Second Chance is a 73k enemies to lovers, second chances, non-shifter mpreg novel. It’s the fifth and penultimate book in the Orchard Ridge Omegas series, and can be read as a stand-alone. Warning: This book contains heavy angst, pining, and relationship drama—but it all leads to Orchard Ridge’s sweetest and most heart-warming HEA yet! So saddle up, and don’t forget to grab the tissues!
I am of two minds about this book... I thought the first 60% of it was top notch, entrancing and fill with tension (sexual and emotional). It the remainder of this book had been the same I would have given it a 5 star rating. However, once Elijah and Chance reconciled and started their life together the last 40% just fell flat for me. Have not clue what it was about their relationship that just left me kinda yawning... but it did. Over all this book was still more than a worthwhile read... I am sure most others will not have an issue with the end parts... as I think it is more of a "me" issue not the author's writing. I totally loved Chance... he was fun. I really liked Elijah and was happy to see him growing and facing his fears. However, occasionally his whining make me want to slap his silly! Anyway, I would say that this is one of my favorites of the series, but definitely not the best!
Second Chance (Orchard Ridge Omegas #5) (ARC) was graciously provided to me by the author for an honest review. I have voluntarily read this book and have provided my honest opinion.
"An Angsty, Humorous, and, Heart-Warming Read"
An angst-filled, heart-breaking, deeply moving, heart-warming, humorous, incredibly steamy, I-need-to-gleefully-hug-my-kindle-right-now-because-it-is-such-a-wonderful-story, kind of story has me currently glowing like a glow-worm all squishy-like as a result of my most recent read. It was crazy good..
I love stories that have that indescribable way of literally wrapping themselves right around the reader with multi-dimensional writing with everlasting effects that take the reader by surprise. Writing that has that realistic edge to it. My new read has this all-encompassing ability in spades, soo...YES PLEASE!
I love, love, LOVED Second Chance, by Braylon Black, as it has such a fabulous overall writing style, with an amazing and intensely emotional storyline, a plot with such a gripping, desperate rawness to it, and an abundance of super addicting characters, many of whom had contributed perfectly to the story, having made cameos from the previous books of the series. In addition, this story also includes an equally consistent display of beautifully descriptive scenery as well for that added realness to the storyline.. All of this made such a perfect read.
Second Chance, by Braylon Black, was one of the best stories of this nature. An emotionally gripping, and, heart-warming story of Elijah and Chance, two long-time friends and lovers, as they stutter through years of deep-rooted isolation, sadness, emotional pain, and a whole lot of misunderstanding. I loved their story, and while I wasn't always crazy about a few things, and, there were snippets of typos, for the most part, it was an absolutely super fantastic read..:)
Eli and Chance had split years before meet at a book signing later while arguing they get close. Eli has anxiety which causes him to live a locked in life earning a living writing fantasy books. He has a Beta reader who goes by JBox283 and shares opinions about the story chapter by chapter. Ten years before Eli and his boyfriend Chance had split up and each felt betrayed by the other and has anger issues towards the other. Then Eli is talked into a book signing and he is shocked to find that JBox283 is Chance. Later Eli goes to Chance's room and they start to argue then the arguing becomes passionate until it turns into passion and they spend the night together.

4 stars
Eight long years have past since Eli and Chance went their separate ways. Fate brings them together again but can they look beyond the past to make a future together?
Tensions between Eli and Chance were at an all time high; sexually, emotionally and physically. These two guys had explosive chemistry even when they were angry at each other. These two guys made me laugh when they started bickering which led to wrestling which turned into something very steamy.
A great story about second chances and I really enjoyed it.
Without hate sex, can we talk? Eli and Chance had a catastrophic breakup 8 years ago. Eli wrote sci fi books under a pseudonym. Chance traveled the world, running away? Eli had a beta reader with whom he communicated often. Eli avoided contact with the outside world as long as he could until he was convinced to attend and speak at a book signing. There he met his mysterious beta writer who turned out to be Chance. They just could not get on the same page communicating. They had angry talking, angry fighting and angry . . .but then they started to get along. Nice story. I received and arc from Booksprout for a review.
We finally get Eli and Chance’s story. I was waiting for their story so we could figure out what caused their gate for each other. I knew the story would be good but I found it amazing. I found Eli struggle so heartbreaking. And Chance and his relationship was destroyed over something that could have been prevented.
But what doesn’t kill you makes you stronger. And they finally make it back to each other. Loved this story from beginning to end!

Second Chance is the fifth book in the Orchard Ridge Omegas series by Braylon Black. As the title suggests, this is a second chance romance. I absolutely adored Elijah and Chance... they have a connection that just wouldn't let go. All the interactions made me feel the emotions... so much drama, hurt/comfort, sweetness, bickering, lust and love. So sweet!
I received an advanced reader's copy of the book and I am voluntarily leaving my honest review and recommendation.
I'm a sucker for second chance romances, and even though I'd never read a book by this author I decided to give it a try. I'm so glad I did. I totally loved the drama and emotional angst that was found in this book. The author had just the right amount to keep me interested but not over the top. It was so well written that I will be looking for more from this author.

Elijah and Chance were in love when they were teenagers. When they turned twenty Chance wanted to travel the world but Elijah had anxiety and was afraid to try new things. They end up breaking up.They're both hurt and blame each other for the break up. Eight years later they live in the same town and still can't forgive each other. I really enjoyed this book.
Second Chance wasn’t bad by any stretch of the imagination, but it was bland. So. Damn. Bland. Like a Hallmark movie with one of those generic, affable white male leads (where do they find those guys anyway?).
Wish the author did write the last book for this series because I loved it. This book made me laugh and cry and I can't believe that it not got more Books to this series
I love that chance and Eli finally got their stuff together. Just to show that if you don't communicate well that it can have devastating results. Loved it can't wait for Dr. Boyles story.
