After graduating college, I’m heading to the one place that gives me peace. The beach—specifically, Cherish Cove on the shore of Lake Michigan. It’s time to regroup, figure out exactly what my future holds, and maybe, get over the one who got away. I’ve missed him every day since my father dragged the family across the country unexpectedly. I never even got the chance to say goodbye. Does that make me the one who got away?
Oakley
I’ve been in a bad mood for the past five years. Mostly, I hide my anger, and I’ve funneled it into writing my bestselling horror novels. But I just can’t move forward. The only girl I’ve ever loved disappeared. Yes, we were young and a million circumstances kept us from reconnecting, but I can’t help feeling fate dealt me a raw deal. Then that girl walks back through my door… All bets and plans are off. She’s mine and I’m never letting her go again.
When it comes to books and movies, Brynn Paulin has one rule: there must be a happy ending. After that one requirement, anything else goes. And it just might in any of her books.
Brynn lives in Michigan, where she likes to spoil her children and dogs—not necessarily in that order. She also loves to cook, travel and spend far too much time on social media. She enjoys mentoring and meeting new people and is always willing to chat. Personally, she finds great pleasure in spending time with her family and dogs, as well as volunteering around her community.
First published in June 2007 by Ellora's Cave, Brynn is the author of over 130 books, including the bestselling Daly Way and Taboo Wishes series.
According to Brynn, her writing success can be attributed to an eclectic collection of music, her local road construction crews, a trusty notebook, and of course, the people in her life who’ve finally accepted that everything is research—or will be.
This was a sweet story that I enjoyed. It was mildly j/p and I liked both characters, but I wish there was more to the story. It just seemed that there wasn't much conflict and when it occurred, it was over quickly, so I was a bit disappointed in that regard. Still, for the mood I was in, wanting a quick, no angst, feel-good story, this provided it and I recommend it to others searching for those traits, too.
Do I dare say this is my favorite book by Brynn Paulin so far? Hmmm...if it's not, it's awfully close. It's so hard to pick a fav when she constantly kicks out greatness. -dual virgins -dual POV -no others during separation -no OW drama, some unwanted OM drama -no abuse, no cheating -epiligue 2 years out Love the names of everyone mentioned in this book, very original. I'm so hoping we'll hear more from the Woods family. They all sound very intriguing. Don't miss out on this fantastic book. It is a perfect example of why I love to read.
One summer for forever. Seperated for 5 years after one beautiful summer together, both MCs met again unexpectedly. The chance to reacquintanced and rekindled the old flame was hard to resist especially when both MCs thought they found the best from each other. Both were stayed faithful during separation.
The story was as sweet as it could be for 2nd chance of love. Not much angst and drama nor complication. Just bit stalker issue that resolved rather quick.
Virgin h No condoms No cheating, No OW/OM Dual PoV Safe read-ish, HEA, Epilogue Overall score: 4 safe read stars
Brynn has done it again! This was another sexy and sweet read with a small bit of intrigue/suspense rolled in, I love how she is able to successfully write all of these in a perfect balance in one book.
Oakley and Luna had met 5 years ago and had a teenage summer romance that due to circumstances pulled their lives in different directions and locations.
But a chance encounter brings them back together and the past is quickly forgiven and moving forward is Oakley's plan....forward to forever and quickly!
Someone wants to see Luna lose her chance at a HEA, but you better believe in Oakley's giant family that isn't gonna happen.
Family matriach, Willow, is a tough cookie and a fun character I can't wait to see what she gets up to in subsequent books.
I loved Oakley's sweet and possessive side when it came to Luna, but oh boy the kinky side of both Luna and Oakley that comes out in the bedroom, HELLO! That's the stuff fantasies and fun relationships are made of!
Looking forward to more books featuring the Woods family in the future from Brynn!
First things first; I like the cover of this book! Beach please is a novella in the ‘’cherish cove’’ collection. This story is short, fast paced and an enjoyable read. I read this book in one sitting and was satisfied throughout. I found the writing style easy to follow, the characters likeable and the storyline enjoyable. Oakley and Luna were once a young couple in love until Luna disappeared. Luna was heartbroken when her father got a job and forced them to leave the same night. Because of that, she lost contact with the boy she loved. Five years later and Luna goes on vacation and runs into the love of her life, will they take a second chance at love? The chemistry between Oakley and Luna is clear to see and I liked them together. I really liked what Oakley’s mother did for Luna. I really liked the ending and the epilogue for this story. The storyline for this book is easy to follow and it is an enjoyable read.
Luna and Oakley torn apart by circumstance, she doesn't know how to get a hold of him, he doesn't know why she disappeared. 5 years later something pulls her backed to the town were she met him, not really expecting to find him. Walking into a diner and fate plays it hand and they meet again, the connection/love is there, they both never able to fill the others place in their heart. But shes in danger and it followed her there. Oakley will protect her always. These two are soulmates, 5 years apart and nothing and no one will tear them apart.
Cherish Cove is a great place to be. Oakley has been carrying a broken heart for five years since Luna left with out telling him why. Luna returns trying to find peace. When she arrives there is instant recognition and soon their love blooms again. This is a fast pace second chance with a sudden insert of drama and at point trouble for Luna. Can't wait to read more of cherish cove
