Pathetically boring and decidedly unromantic

All I wanted was something entertaining to read while I'm staying home, but dear lord this story was torture. It was poorly written and the author couldn't seem to utilize her descriptors. For instance, I have no idea what any of the main characters look like. Everything is so vague and might I add, uninteresting. Oh and the plot can only be described as silly; aliens of an unknown species invade earth to extract an mystery element and kidnap women. They end up grabbing one woman, Emma. Now the why and the how of it was wasn't even explored. There are billions of women to choose from and yet, it's Emma they chose. They just walk into her place and haul her off. Oh, that makes sense. Then these three aliens say they should rape her. Be still my beating heart! Such romance! Then this stupid story devolves from there. By the way Ms. Woods, it is not romantic or sexy to call a woman a c#*t. It was unnecessary to use that word to convey the utter distaste, disrespect, and general loathing males have for females. Ok, just an aside, I really love that Emma is so xenophobic one minute and then, in the blink of an eye, she is madly in love with the three aliens. What? There was no character development, no reasonable story arch that would make that sentiment reasonable. What I gleaned is that the three males were lizard-like, I think. However, the book cover shows more human type males. Here's the thing, from purely a biological point of view, cold-blooded lizards are not compatible with warm blooded creatures. In short, the three males weren't very likable nor was Emma. I have no interest to read another poorly written story by this author.

DNF: See review titled “Pathetically boring and decidedly unromantic”

The following review already put into words what I think of this book.

“All I wanted was something entertaining to read while I'm staying home, but dear lord this story was torture. It was poorly written and the author couldn't seem to utilize her descriptors. For instance, I have no idea what any of the main characters look like. Everything is so vague and might I add, uninteresting.”

What they said is 100% accurate.

Lok, Rekker, and Vraik are three alien miners who have been forced into a type of slavery to work over mines on a dying planet for an Element that is almost extinct, Resnyx. The three males make a plan to escape and make more of their lives and start a revolution against the current leader of their empire. They find a planet that has Resnyx in abundance, but it also has another item that has been going extinct by order of the empire, women.

Emma is a woman on Earth, who has no one truly there who would miss her, a dead end job, and a mother that constantly points out that she doesn't have a future. Then one day A ship comes down out of no where, and three massive alien males take her away from everything she has ever known to be their mate.

The three first escape back to the homeworld of Vox, Rekker, and Vraik, where the relationship changes and the four of them finally become a true mated group. After the four mated, the Emperor's men took Vox, Rekker, and Vraik into custody but Emma was able to escape to the planet that they ran as mines. She found the planet in chaos and that the slaves had revolted and with the help of her men, she was able calm the riots and help bring the people together so that they could go back to the home planet and create a revolution. But the Emperor came to their dying planet himself and the miners revolted and were able to finally gain their freedom.

Emma and her men had to escape but were able to return home to Earth, and start a life amongst themselves.

The book was a little slow in places but it was well written and I'm curious as to just what will happen in the rest of this series.

This done in one quick read has some really interesting stuff in it, unfortunately some of it is kinda hidden, tucked away, or simply held until so late in the story that it is hard to fully enjoy and appreciate. This is a story about communism gone wrong, a dictator has figured out how to game his own system, and con his citizens in to giving up more and more, with hopes of getting the fabled rewards he offers far off glimpses of, and stories of.

Emma is so focused on her here and now that I spent a good portion of the story thinking she has carelessly and thoughtlessly sacrificed something of value. Thankfully it later became clear that this story was unfolding so quickly, over such a short timetable, that there was time for her to have her cake and eat it too.

Rekker, Vraik, and Lok, the three Aliens the story revolves around, provide the history for their part of the galaxy, in a few ways... and seeing the difference between what they believed as they were living through it, what they came to understand in the aftermath, and what they were now learning was poignant and engaging.

This is a solid Kindle Unlimited read, in part because characters come to look beyond themselves, and are reminded how working together can improve everyone’s lives.

I liked this book for the most part and it got weird in some places but overall it was ok. Emma is a reporter that needs a change in her life after her father passes away that was her life and her mother that was never really there for her and even more now. Then Emma’s life changes when three alien men come to earth to kidnap a human female because on there world females are out-lord and only kept for breeding for the rich and the workers have to earn the right to a female by working in the mines gathering resnyx for there Emperor Slain and so it’s been 20 yrs or more since anyone of them has seen a female or been with one, but things change once meeting the human female Emma they only want her and not the earths resources anymore. So taking her back to there planet to breed with her could get them all killed if they cannot get a witness to watch them breed with her it’s there law and that’s how they make a claim on the female. Weird right, well at first Emma wanted nothing to do with them but after talking to them she falls in love and wants to breed. It’s a bit strange this book but an ok read.

Holy Moly I'm Not On Earth...
by and1515

Tasked with finding an element that might not exists anymore planet after planet we've searched.Ruled by a tyrant Emperor who took everything from us.
Tired and fed up with there lot its time for them to leave. Escaping is there only chance.
Emma works for a tabloid paper she doesn't believe in all the hullabaloo aliens, monster excetera excetera. But there's this nifty phrase seeing is believing.
Now there's nothing but chaos and confusion and she's terrified and there's nowhere to go she's trapped.
When Emma finally wakes up everything she knew is gone and her new reality leaves her naked trying to make sense why her out of a whole planet full of people.
One might think twice about playing hiding and seek from a whole bunch of aliens but some times fortune favors the bold and now for the moment she's got the upper hand. The word of the day is negotiate.
Rekker knows they were playing with danger when they'd put their plan into motion but desperate times calls for extreme measures and they most win.

I am woman, hear me roar!

With the title "Alien Bride," I envisioned a "virginal, submissive" woman, who with minimal persuasion, accepts her alien captor, succumbs to the passion within 2 hours, and has no problem leaving everyone/thing she has ever known, behind. I have read and enjoyed many of these sci-fi books, but, in the end, I am often left shaking my head. But instead, inside, you will find that there is not one submissive bone in Emma's, the "alien" bride, voluptuous body! These three brutal alphas, with muscles, "made of steel," chose the wrong woman to kidnap when they came to Earth to collect its resources and find a mate. I'm not saying that Emma doesn't temporarily succumb to hysteria and denial, but it's what she does afterward that leaves Lok, Rekker, and Vrail; three dominate and virile aliens unbalanced and bewildered - their vision of mastery fading! As always, with Ms. Wood's stories, there are many layers to unravel with the characters and the challenges they will face together and alone, often evoking feelings of anger, hatred, sadness, empathy, cheering and happiness. We could all use an Emma at our sides!

She wants change, they want change. Can these 4 very different humanoids find happiness together?
The was a steamy alien-abducts-human-and-they-get-it-on story. The year is 2093 and while Emma is slogging away at her job as a writer for a tabloid newspaper, Fök, Vraik and Rekker are toiling away as miners on a god forsaken planet looking for an element for their emperor. Emma hates her job. She’s constantly called upon to write such nonsense about out of this world aliens. She’s sick of it! Fök, Vraik and Rekker were former warriors for their planet Ubara. Now they are relegated to mining which requires them to mistreat the miners under them. They are sick of it!
What happens when their paths cross? Will Emma believe what she is seeing and feeling? There are a few steamy scenes but lots of sexual tension among this group. They must overcome internal prejudice, a crazy a** Emperor and lots of cyborg-like bad guys to get their HEA and a thrilling fast-paced ending. I was offered an ARC to review and this book is recommended for PNR Alien abduction lovers. I give it 3.5 Stars.

In a future year a group of astronauts are reaching a planet that can probably host humans. They will be the second group to find what happen with other one before them.
And surprise...they find that they where all lied to by their government, two aliens, laboratory experiments are trying to kill them and one of their group is in a secret mission against the human group!
Naomi the only female of the group is abducted from one of the two aliens... or maybe they aren't the monsters the humans believe?

One of my favorites genres is sci fi romance and I love the stories and the travel in the galaxy. Earlier this year I have read "Alien Breed" and I have to say that I did like it and I was intrigued by the plot.
This one wasn't for me. I couldn't connect with the characters and I could follow the story. The heroine, human girl Naomi who is meant to be, stubborn, spit-fire and fighter but for me it was more like a child with a temper tantrum every time somebody told her "no".

Lök, Vraik, and Rekker Are enslaved miners. These three minors want to get away from it all. I no longer want to work for someone else because it’s not getting them anywhere. They want to rebel against the empire. They have the reasons they’ve been doing it for a while and they are sick of it. Eventually they escape from their environment. This is where things get a little crazy. They want to meet, kind of. In order for them to main business to the council they need to find a bride. Mate. Emma for some reason fits that bill. She’s feisty wants excitement. Tired of assignments given to her. But can’t resist the three bodies that have been after her and take her. This book is an adventure of its own magnitude. The steamy and counters. The way that they handle things is something to behold. Be careful what you wish for because this story shows you just might get it.

What an imagination, to build a whole new world and people.
This is a fast paced book with war, mmfm love, multiple planets, and so much more.
Not always sweet and sometimes dirty but a good solid read from start to finish.
Emma is working a job she hates and living with a ton of guilt over her father and trying to rebuild any kind of relationship with her mother. She's lonely.
Then aliens abduct her and everything changes.
Lok, Rekker, and Vraik just want to find there mates. They and everyone from the Ubaran Empire have been slaving away for Emperor Slain just for a chance at a mate. Now Lok has found a planet with what they want (Emma) but the battle has just begun.
What they all go threw for each other is crazy.
Standalone with no cliffhangers and a good epilogue.

While mining dead planets for the powerful element Resnyx Lök, Vraik, and Rekker decide to rebel against the Emperor of the Ubaran Empire and his thirst for it. They decided instead to invade Earth to harvest it and to aquire another rare item that Earth has in abundance, females. When aliens arrive in the skys the last thing Emma expects is to be kidnapped and stolen from her home or the journey she is thrust upon. A trip to a distant planet, a 3 alien mates, and an enemy to destroy. Though this can be read as a stand-alone. It contains no cheating and does not leave you with a cliff hanger. But if you have an issue with a women being called c*nt or a sl*t by her mates you might not want to read this.

I quite enjoyed reading this Sci-Fi alien romance with a somewhat dark undertone. The plot is intriguing with some suspenseful situations & events. In the beginning the three male characters are portrayed as cold-hearted & merciless but as they become more emotionally involved with the female character they become quite loving & protective towards her.
There is: earth is invaded by brutal aliens then a young human female (Emma) is claimed as a bride by three of them (Lök, Vraik & Rekker) regardless of how she feels, a despicable emperor (Slain), sentinels, slavery, adventure, action, drama, intrigue, suspense, threats, danger, enemies, violence, conflict, invasions, abduction, attempted escape, negotiations, manipulations, rituals, devious plans, explosions, surprises, steamy scenes & strangely enough there is love, contentment & a satisfying conclusion

Lok, Rekker, and Vraik are three warlord alien miners forced by the emperor to mine for an element called Resnyx. When the three of them escape, they find something even more valuable on Earth than the element they need – they find women!

Emma is a human on Earth who is unhappy with her job and her mother’s attitude. When a ship captures her and three aliens take her away, her life will be changed forever! Will she accept them as her mates? Will they be able to keep her safe?

I wasn’t overly impressed with this story and couldn’t really get into it. It seemed a bit slow and the characters were not as fully developed as I would have hoped. Some of the plot points were a bit far-fetched too and just didn’t mesh well in the story line.

Emma needs to make some changes to her life. Working for her ex at a tabloid is so not where she expected to be at almost 30.
Lök, Vraik and Rekker desperately need to find a rare element for their leader but they just can not seem to find it where they were sure it would be. Plan B is a dangerous one, but they must take it or risk exile or death.
When Emma sees an alien ship appear in the sky over Chicago, she just cannot believe her eyes. When 3 aliens appear in her bedroom, her mind has just had enough. Waking up in their ship...well, she did need to make some changes.
Wonderful book! A bit out there as far as the female leads actions, in my opinion, but this is fiction. I really enjoyed it!

I really like alien books from Penelope Woods and I love the covers as well. Always vibrant and intense, just like her books. I have read everything from her. This book though is a little different. There is a lot of action of course, which I love, the story is detailed and the heroine is sassy and strong-headed, exactly what her brutes of aliens need ;) Lok, Rekker, and Vraik are three alien miners with distinctive personalities, who had a hard life and wish to start a revolution against the leader of their empire. I only wish there were more sizzling scenes between all for of them. There is emotion though and HEA :)

I usually like books from Penelope Woods This book though is a little different. It was an ok read for me. There is a lot of action, it is very fast paced but it needed more character development. I read a lot of books and it takes a lot to put me off but this one did with the language. It was unnecessary. I still plan on reading more books by her though. This one just was not my cup of tea.

Lok, Rekker, and Vraik are three alien miners with distinctive personalities, who had a hard life and wish to start a revolution against the leader of their empire. They journey to Earth in search of women to breed with. Unfortunately, their plan does not go as expected...they end up with Emma.

Once I got past the unrealistic intercourse, this was an awesome read. Reverse harem meets sci-f, with an attempt at bdsm. I like that the aliens weren't too humanized. When being described it was made clear that they were other. With the exception of the male anatomy that is. I'm glad that there conflict was not a one and done. Meaning, the end is near, the trouble appears, and rather than rushing to the finish, the author chose to add different layers before the final conclusion. Good job dear author.

This, An Alien Sci-Fi Romance is fast-paced, very well-written and it has strong Alien males who want her as theirs. There is action, adventure, drama, danger, suspense, twist/turns, survival, intrigue, surprises, anger, stubbornness, betrayal, heartache, violence, happiness, romance, passion/lust and love.
This story is about a female human who want her, the could care less about Earth in which they invaded. These characters are very well developed with amazing chemistry and along with the lead female. A must read book and by a good Author

I received an ARC from the author thru Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving my review. Emma is not happy with her job or her family life. Lok, Rekker and Vraik have been slaving for years to locate an element for a tyrannical emperor. A rash decision leads them to Earth and Emma. Once taken their lives become very complicated with Emma. Becoming the mate of 3 aliens and fighting to end an Emperors reign was not how Emma thought her life would change. This is a fast paced book with a good storyline and characters. I enjoyed it

Terrible

Omg is his book was just beyond bad! I honestly don’t have anything nice to say about this book! There’s another 1 star review and she hit it on the head! The author never describes the aliens so good luck figuring out how they look, the woman is just the most go with the flow kidnap victim I’ve ever read and I read a lot of these books. There’s no description for anything so the author never takes you anywhere if that makes sense. When you read a book a author is supposed to bring you into their world, that doesn’t happen here. I made it barely halfway through. This is one of the worst books I’ve read on kindle and that being nice.

After conspiring against their tyrant leader, three aliens leave their world to find a mate. They abduct Emma. They are vicious and scary and she tries to get away. The first to calm her is Rekker. While they all are attractive in their way, he helps her see what they can all be together. When they all come up against the tyrant, she may be the one who saves them all! Love this story its dirty and kinky and oh so fun to read!

This was a book with a lot of action which made me want to keep reading to see what was going to happen next. However, because it was so fast-paced, there didn’t seem to be much character development or background as to why the aliens were acting the way they were. I would have loved to see more of a storyline in this book, but if you just want a dark, alien, trigger-filled romance, then this is a good book for that.

When I first started reading this book I wasn’t sure I was going to like it however, I am glad I kept reading. It turns quickly from brute forces to worshipping the ground the FMC walks on. It was an interesting world that Penelope Woods takes us to and she does an amazing job building it. I was surprised by the ending in regards to where they end up. If you like your books dark and dirty this one is for you but know it’s not all sex there’s a great story line too.

What an interesting take. Not what I expected, but I did enjoy it because it was different. Lok, Rekker and Vraik are mining for and elusive power element, when they decide to head toward earth. When they abduct Emma, they start to dream of having a new life, not controlled by their emperor and the Lottery that only gives out women to lucky lottery participants chosen by the emperor. Their society is dying and with Emma by their side they fight back capture and destruction, for their HEA.

Let Penelope Wood take you on a ride out of this world. We have Rekker, Vraik and Lok escape and cause a revolution against the leaders. Where they abduct Emma from Earth to be their mate because the ladies are being shipped out on the order of the emperor Slain! But she try's to get away but Rekker will show her why they need her and she finds herself attracted to the 3 aliens and she brings a calmness to all the madness. They will work hard to Resnyx and a home with peace among the aliens.
