Royally Unexpected #3

Knocked Up by Prince Gallant

Rate this book

The Prince is an animal, and everyone knows it.
All I need to do is stay out of his way.
Easy… Right?

Wrong.
So, so wrong.

When I take my father’s place at Westhill Castle, everyone warns me about Prince Gabriel.
They tell me to stay away.
The Prince is dangerous. Wild. Angry.

One thing they don’t warn me about?
Prince Gabriel is panty-dropping hot.
Knee-knocking gorgeous.
Arrogant. As. Hell.

So, I hike my panties way, way up.

But the Prince has other ideas, and who am I to resist royalty?
Especially when he shows me just how wild he really is.

I know it’s a terrible idea. I know I’m going to get hurt.
The only thing I don’t know is how he’ll react when I tell him I’m pregnant.

Knocked Up by Prince Gallant is Book 3 of the Knocked Up Royals. Brooding, brutish Gabriel gets his story in this contemporary Beauty and the Beast retelling. This is a stand-alone romance with no cliffhanger and a HEA.

Lilian Monroe lives in a luxurious jungle treehouse surrounded by lush greenery, with an army of scantily-clad men with rippling abdominal muscles ready to attend to her every need.

No, wait. That's not true.

Lilian Monroe spends her days dangling her feet into her pool, while a scantily-clad pool boy with rippling abdominal muscles feeds her chocolate-covered strawberries and massages her back.

Okay, okay. You got me. That's not true, either. Let's try again.

Lilian Monroe lives at home with her two children, three dogs, and twelve chickens. Her husband likes to work shirtless in the back yard. His sweaty, gleaming abdominal muscles ripple with every movement and he—

I'm sorry. I have to stop. Fine, I'll admit it. That one isn't true either.

How about this: Lilian Monroe loves thinking about men with rippling abdominal muscles serving her hand and foot, and she wants you to think about them too! She is an avid reader, writer, and lover of all things romance.

She loves everything from bad boys to billionaires. Her books are packed with sizzling-hot heat, action, suspense, and everything from second chances to single dads. She hates cheating and loves a good happily ever after (and rippling abs).

Definitely one of my favorite book from the series. It’s great, safe love story, romantic and hot!

ALSO THE HERO i found that he wasn’t that difficult like the other heroes from the series to be honest! Obviously the author didn’t make this one too complicated like before because if it does, i would not be reading it lol. Not saying its bad but it just a bit annoying, so this book right here is not bad. ITS MORE GREAT THAN BEFORE if i have to say....

‼️‼️THE HERO is a single dad and he have a beautiful and cute daughter.

‼️‼️NO VIRGINS.
But both have been celibate for a while.
NO TALKING ABOUT THE PAST PARTNERS. The hero did talk tho because she wants to know what she’s dealing with his past so he talks about it. BUT NOT TOO MANY. Only when the situation have to.

‼️‼️LOVE IN FIRST SIGHT.
It was beautiful actually because the hero felt something and wanting the heroine when he first saw her and when he didn’t even know who is she...

‼️‼️THE HERO IS POSSESSIVE not OTT.

NOT TOO MANY jealous scenes from the hero and not many from the heroine. I find it to be very funny when the hero felt possessive at first when he didn’t even talk to her yet and when he haven’t even kissed her or do anything to her. That’s hot lol.

‼️‼️IT HAS SEPARATION.
For a year because of a big miss understanding... The heroine did a good job when she push the hero away because of what he did (he didn’t cheat or anything like that, he simply believe something about the heroine that is not true but too late when the heroine decides he’s too damaged to be with). THE HEROINE really makes him feel bad about it and HE DID FEEL VERY VERY BAD AND GUILTY.
THE WAY he’s begging for her to be come back it was very sweet... BOTH ARE VERY LOYAL AND DIDN’T GO OR TOUCH ANYONE ELSE.

‼️‼️NO CHEATING.

‼️‼️A LITTLE DRAMA WITH OM AND OW BUT NOT TOO MUCH OR TOO ANNOYING... basically the OW never comes to the heroine until the end but its when the heroine is with the hero at time. The OW was not directly mad at the heroine, she was mad at the hero. THE OW never come too much so all the drama in here was not annoying at all. ALL THE OTHER DRAMA IS BETWEEN THE THEMSELF the heroine and hero dealing with each other especially the hero.

‼️‼️BOTH DID PUSH EACH OTHER WAY but not too much! And in the end the heroine did all the pushing away for a good reason but that is not too much either...

‼️‼️THE HEROINE IS A SASSY ONE! She knows how to defend herself and talk back to anyone who treats her wrong even the prince himself.

‼️‼️THE HERO is a bit complicated. But not too much or too annoying. At first he’s a arrogant one... but that slowly and quickly fades away when the realize all this time he was wrong and he shouldn’t be self pity like that. I’m glad in the end he was better.

‼️‼️VERY HOT SMUT SCENES.... very hot lol.

‼️‼️HAPPY ENDING. Married and have more kids.

I’m glad i find this book.

🌐🌐🌐➡️↘️⬇️➡️This is my own personal thoughts and opinion about the book so if thats not sit right with you or you feel I’m not being fair blablabla, please know that everybody in this world have their own different things that they like and don’t like. It may not be the same thing with you but thats okay because i am my own person and you cannot control me or tell me what to do. For example; i put ketchup (tomato sauce) on my fried chicken. You think that’s disgusting? For me its not and i’ve been eating it like that for many many years. You tell me to put another sauce and see if i like that better? I already did many many times in years but i still like the way i like it. It’s called differences between me and you and billions people in this world😊 be open minded😙 I respect people’s opinions about my opinions but in the end of the day if i say I don’t like it or i do like it, its up to me and its on me. And in the end of the day i always liked and show my respect to books and people’s opinions on books whenever that book is good or not good in my opinion 😊 Respect people’s opinions guys😙😙 I don’t want to write this down because its not really my thing to do it. To like address something like this when obviously i know the people who’s been reading my reviews many times and all the time, they are smart enough to understand and respect other people’s opinions no matter what their opinions on book or their point of view 😙😙 am i right? 💕 but if you still wants to be negative and be karens about my review on book, i will never acknowledge you 🙏 ⬅️↖️↕️⬅️↩️⤴️

Is it Hatred or Lust

A tragic tear at your heartstrings kinda book that just grabs and draws you in, in this the 3rd book Knocked up by Royals series. Probably my favourite of the series too! The main characters in this series are all driven to the women they fall for, all have their troubled backgrounds and dark secrets! I loved the adorable Flora, Prince Gabriel’s daughter who has cystic fibrosis that a lot of people can relate too! Flora is so clever and yet so brave in her struggle to keep well! Each book of the series supersede’s the others. I personally just loved this great read by the inimitable Lilian Monroe and have never read any of her books that didn’t keep me gripped with happiness!
This 5 star ⭐️ read I can highly recommend.

(There will totally be some spoilers I'm sure) Ok, as I mentioned in the second book review - I read Bad Prince and Heartless Princess just before this and didn't realize until book 2 (Heartless Prince) that all the books are accidental pregnancies. Apparently the whole series is like that? Like. Really? Come on. Every prince is going to accidently knock up some chick they shouldn't? Ugh. That's annoying. Like, super annoyingly annoying. So, I am taking off a star for it not being original. "oops, I did it again" and deja vu at its finest. And this book I'm taking off another star because I just couldn't deal with the same story line as the first two books and this one has not one, but TWO accidental pregnancies. *insert the eye roll here* just like I mentioned in the second book review...

Overall, it's an easy read with some of the same drama as the first book - forbidden romance (this time between Prince Gabe and Jo - the gardeners daughter... again really? what prince looks at the gardeners daughter?), an accidental pregnancy, assumptions the Prince doesn't want the baby (when really he doesn't even realize it's his), and then the new addition on this book of her having the baby on her own and not even telling him he had a child. Whaaat? Who does that?

If I hadn't read to other stories of the same storyline, it wouldn't be such a bad experience reading this one. Gabe is a sulky prince b/c his daughters mother sucks and he's got a big ole scar on his face from confronting her years ago. In the meantime, he got custody of his daughter and lives in the castle on the other side of the country basically hiding from everyone b/c his daughter is sick. So he keeps her in the bubble. But it's his brothers 10 year anniversary of being King (book 1). I will say, I did like that it was into the future and not parallel to the first two books. It was a nice change from the same old story line.

But, even from the beginning, I didn't feel like Gabe was a realistic character. From the first time he set foot back in the kingdom, his character was out of control and raging because he thought he saw his daughter's mother in the crowd. He's a prince. Anger issues or not, I don't foresee a prince acting like that in public. Regardless of how he feels like a recluse or not. And he definitely had serious anger issues throughout the book. I will say I did love Jo's heart and their initial romance was cute too. Her planning the community garden and then replanting the rose bushes Gabe ripped up in his fit of anger at the community garden was beautiful and touching.

But overall - no. I am definitely turned off this entire series. I love stories where the author creates and entire world with multiple characters and tells each of their stories, but in this case, they were all the same - Prince accidently knocks someone up who is not "appropriate" for a prince and then fall in love. This one had the most twist to it with her leaving to not raise her baby with someone who has anger issues, like Gabe. So I admired her strength for leaving him and letting him show her if/how he's changed - which he did. But it just wasn't my type of series overall. I need variety and differences in stories and not just small differences. The pregnancies all around just got old.

I'm not sure if I would give her other books a try... maybe someday, but not anytime soon. I need a break from the same ole thing.

If I thought Damon had demons, Gabriel isn’t far behind. I don’t know which is worse, the anger he carries around as his personality, or the high of receiving pain when emotions get too much. Both books were emotional and had baggage that both princes carried around like a weight on their shoulders but also as a badge because they let it define them. My heart hurt for him like it did for Damon and all Jo did was take the brunt of it and was an innocent bystander of it all. It was Gabriel’s trust issues that filled his head up with the idea that anyone just wanted to take advantage of him and his daughter Flora. All Jo was doing was living her life blissfully unaware of the ramifications of her actions. I knew this would happen because of the nonchalant way she went about it and the fact she didn’t know about his past and who was responsible for all of his issues. How could she? He never disclosed that information to her, or state that she was to never read the book his ex wrote about him. In this case, Gabriel’s anger shouldn’t have caused such a commotion like it did but I can see why he would feel betrayed by her and what could cause him to question her intentions. I’ve come to the conclusion that these princes all have dark sides. Their experiences all different and the way they cope with them. I think I mentioned this in the last review for this series. Each one of those sides takes up a big part of their turmoil as kids and what they went through, plus the constant scrutiny. It’s no wonder being in the public eye for all of them takes a turn for the worst. All it takes is one little slip up, and everyone knows about it. It’s unavoidable for public figures and comes with the fame. This book, and all the other ones definitely showcase this. It’s just been a very dark, intense but sensual series and the way each prince explores their desire with these women opens us up to how they are feeling inside, and this hunger that takes over once they give in. This one was a crazy ride and I found myself talking out loud to my iPad as things happened and came up. I would count this one as having many cases of angry sex in a book that always showed passion and emotion at the same time, stripping layers from Gabriel as well as Jo. The connection was rough but sensual and I loved the Beauty and the Beast reference with this. It was showcased beautifully and I wouldn’t have noticed this had I not read the description of the story but I think in the back of my mind, I would still compare. Come to think of it, I think all of these books have a comparison to many of the Disney princess movies I grew up with. They are subtle but still there nonetheless but maybe not quite as obvious as it was in this book. Totally deserving of 5 stars!

“I do love to ruin things … why not ruin myself?” —Prince

This, like the other 2 I’ve heard so far from this series, is SO FUN. It sucked me in from the start and then only gripped me harder as it went on. I absolutely loved Flor, and the leads, rooting for all of them and I loooved hating the creepy, jealous, pervy gardener.

With lots of Beauty & The Beast vibes and small details, this manages to be a whimsy, contemporary fairytale re-telling and I’ve only read one other author who pulls this off so well.

“The east wing is forbidden.” —Uptight, crotchety Prince.

🌹 Broken hero.
🌿 Small town.
🌹 Broke girl vibes.
🌿 Fresh start vibes.
🌹 Single dad / overprotective, doting dad.
🌿 Chronic illness (CF) representation.
🌹 “Coming home.”
🌿 Roses and gardening everywhere!
🌹 Fairytale retelling, but set in the ‘real world’. (Of a fictional small town, but still.)
🌿 Workplace / boss-employee relationship.
🌹 Super creepy antagonist I loved to hate.
🌿Grand gesture.
🌹Third-act break-up, but it’s VERY well done /understandable - don’t want to spoil.
🌿Misunderstandings (well done).
🌹Excellent character development / growth.
🌿Hate s3x.
🌹Looots of steamy scenes.
🌿Surprise pregnancy.
🌹Bitter, vengeful ex.
🌿Author heroine.

I missed it when I stepped away and it addresses things like mental illness, healing, holding oneself accountable and of course, living with chronic illness. It also made me think at times. Excellent.

4.5 stars.

Couldn’t put this book down I love the story line on it and how the prince isn’t just a Bachelor out to just party and pull. This prince had had a life time of hurt and betrayal happen to his that turns him into a recluse and the only part of his live that he thinks is worth anything is his daughter..

Jo failed at everything evan just trying to keep the lights on in her small New York apartment after failed book signing a broken relationship and then finding out her dad cancer has returned jo decided she going to return home. She thinks she running away from her problems when she returns to her parents little cottage on the grounds of the castle..

I think this book could of been better evan tho I didn’t put it down sometimes I felt like I kinda guessed what was going to happen.the mystery with the prince and his ex could of been more explosive. Also kinda noticed in the last 2 books the girls have kept the pregnancy a secret. Kinda guessed that was also going to happen in this book. The mix with also keeping flora a main character was amazing. You did well pulling that one out the bag. This book was based on not just the prince and jo this look also shows love between jo and flora

Definitely a series to read

I typically only like my prince stories in historical fiction, but these stories have been remarkably refreshing. Even though princes are obviously unrealistic, it's nice to have a modern romance novel have a realistic unreal prince rather than a completely unrealistic and destructive billionaire [who somehow didn't inherit a thing or have privileged upbringing and yet is a billionaire at 29 -- not possible guys]. I also like that although the Hs in this series are princes, their wealth is not on display as much as it seems to be when we have the H-billionaire. Although each book so far has been very good, this one has been the most compelling. I appreciate how this author demonstrates how characters fight mental illness without taking us into a completely wallowing, dark place. I am eager to complete the series and thank the author for making me smile and making me cry all while taking me away from the world for a bit.

I really liked how deep and emotional these books got as they go on, especially since I first started reading them because I thought they were going to be fluffy cute books and they kinda aren't. I did like this story and how Gabriel didn't just magically get better, instead he had to work for it at the end and even then it might not have been enough. I also liked how Jo did what she did toward the end, while it would have been easy to stay or go back it took a lot of strength not to and do what was best for her. I also adored Flora (and that Gabe was a single dad doing everything he could for his daughter), my only wish was that we got to see her more than we did and all three of them as a family (and it would have been cute to see her meet a certain someone at the end). Overall this was a good book and I really loved how it actually had the characters work for their HEA without taking the easy way out.

Um…

I can feel the difference about love between Gabriel and Jo , Gabriel is dedicated to love. Ready to change, but Jo, selfish. Sometimes I feel like Jo doesn't love Gabriel. Like she got everything from Gabriel. and ready to leave She has published a book Because Flora was the inspiration, she had a child, and the part I disliked the most. when Flora was sick she doesn't want to get close for fear that her child would be sick too She kept saying Give space to Gabriel She doesn't have the right, but actually, she's just defending her selfishness. Flora loves Jo ,but I feel like Jo doesn't think the same. it's disappointing And when Gabriel asks for a chance she is ready to refuse not even trying to maintain a relationship Or give Gabriel a chance to make amends. If Gabriel's ex doesn't come in, it'll end up hurting Gabriel. And Jo has a good life and move on easily. Even though the ending of the story is good But I still feel the same way

Jolie and Gabriel

His daughter Flora

She is stepping in as the Princes Rose gardener as her father gets chemo. He’s a mess - very violent and angry unless it’s with his daughter who has a congenital condition.

But he can’t keep his thoughts or eventually his hands off her. His ex was evil and wrote a tabloid tell all fake book and she slashed his face with a knife. He’s ready to lash out… but he tells Jolie he loves her… until he finds out she’s reading the book. He destroys the rose garden. She knows she’s pregnant but she can’t let her child grow up with such violence she leaves. Months pass and he realizes he made a mistake he wants Jolie. He goes to her parents house and finds out she’s pregnant with his child. She tells him until he gets better she can’t be with him. He goes to months of therapy and finally approaches her and baby boy Thorne - the ex does too and he deals with her calmly. Jolie is impressed and takes him back.

Hea married and pregnant again with third.

Finally a strong female main character

Although things don't seem to be going well for Jolie as the story begins as her confidence has hit rock bottom when her attempts to become a writer in NYC fall through, returning home to act as the stand-in gardener allows her to recover her faith in herself as a writer and as a person. This particular story stands out as she is an empathetic and understanding individual, but she is no one's doormat - particularly not Prince Gabriel's.

For the most part, I enjoyed the story, but, as in any other, there has to be at least one non-thinking bad decision made that becomes the main event of a breakup before the HEA. However, it was a pleasant read for ending the weekend.

Beast within

I firmly and faithfully believe that there is a beast deep inside each of us and everyday we do what need to keep it under control. The beast comes out to protect us, encourage us, push us out of our comfort zones or to F*** Sh** up. This story speaks to us all in one way or another. This shows us that the best within does not control us but rather we always have the power to control it. This is a great read. There was no damsel needing to be rescued by a dashing bastard Prince. Each of the characters had their own struggles and walked their own paths to get to the ending that they deserved. Highly recommend.

great retelling of a classic fairy tale

Prince Gabriel has hidden away from the lime light since the volatile end of his first relationship. But Jo brings him back.

This story was such a fun beauty and the best retelling where the beastly traits are not physical but personality traits. Gabe is angry and reacts quickly. Jo doesn’t take his crap and always bites back. Their relationship didn’t happen instantly but took a little time and this added to the reality of it. Even the climax and subsequent resolution weren’t instantaneous and I loved it.

I can’t wait to read more by the author.

Asking for help is important

Again I couldn’t put the book down. I was compelled to know this brother’s story. He had major rage issues. I was angry at his outbursts and his behavior but I can also understand why.

Thankfully Jo doesn’t put up with it and does what she has to to protect herself and baby.

Flora was adorable and I liked her character and the dynamic it brought to the world.

An Enjoyable Retelling of Beauty and the Beast

I think I enjoyed this one the most out of the 3 brothers, I loved the symbolism of the roses and the rose gardens and the way that Gabriel's anger was the beast. I felt that this one had the most redeeming Prince. While it took him hitting rock bottom, he put in the work to better himself and to prove to not only Jolie, but himself that he could be a better man. Really liked this one. A solid 4.5 stars.

This One Is Going To Tear At Your Heart

I don't think "Prince Gallant" is the appropriate title. "Troubled" is more like it and that's even putting it mildly. You'll fall in love with Jolie and your heart will break for her too. You'll also laugh at the way she talks to the Prince. This is one fantastic novel and highly recommended.

Cruel Prince...

Royally Unexpected book 3. So but wrenching good. Gabriel has many issues. His daughter Flora is simply beautiful. In comes Jo and all her dramatic goodness. Here to help her sick dad out with the roses at the castle. The chemistry between the characters was intense and angsty. Passionate and hopeful. This book is about redemption, forgiveness and love.

Wild or just wounded Prince

Anger can destroy material possessions and human hearts if not gently tended into submission by love. Love creates, builds, changes, restores. Love covers a multitude of sins. Without forgiveness and love, romance can’t be developed into new or lasting relationships. Beautiful story here! Enjoy!

Where do I begin? Let me start by wiping away my tears. Of these three books, I thought it would be my least favorite, but it was by far, my favorite. Gabriel and Jolie were absolutely, heartbreakingly, ugly and beautiful at the same time. A fantastic rendition of a classic… true Beauty and her broken but loving Beast.

Great author and series

While I definitely read some stuff that makes me question what is acceptable, it was very refreshing reading about a woman who doesn't put up with bullying and stands her ground about what she find acceptable and doesn't settle for less. Thank you for another wonderful getaway ❤

I finished reading this series' nine books. All of them were enjoyable. extremely lovely and fascinating tales. After completing one, I eagerly anticipated the following. The narrative is entirely different, despite the title being the same. Reading it keeps you engrossed once you get going. exceptional author I'm sure I'll read more of this author's novels.

I didn't love this one. Gabriel was very absent in the first two books, I guess bc they aged him up in this one. But, something about his character rubbed me the wrong way. He was unlikable, and for me...unredeemable. I didn't get any chemistry between the two main characters. I was actually anxious for the book to end. I did the audio book & the narrator was horrible.

Great book

Really enjoyed this book, it’s the third book in this series I’ve read and they flow together so well.
This is a really well written romance that has lots of twists and turns along the way.
Looking forward to reading the next book in the series.

Nice HEA!

Not my usual plot line pick, but I enjoyed reading this book. It was a little dark at times, adding to the sweetness of the HEA. The epilogue was a nice conclusion! It tied up all the loose ends and gave a complete story.

I liked this one but it wasn’t my favorite so far. Gabriel was too young to be featured that much in the previous books but when he was, the road ahead didn’t look so good. I liked Jo for him. She brought out a part of him that needed to be there. It’s sad and sweet at the same time.

Favorite of the first 3

His story felt more gripping though I’d like to know more of his background and why he was the way he was. But the chemistry between the leads was compelling and real. Recommend for a good light read.

Great story!!!

I loved this novel because it was beautifully written modern day spin on beauty and the beast. This was the third installment of the series and I was not disappointed because each book was better than the last.

This is the most beautiful love story I have read. Out of all the series this one is my favorite. All I can say is Beauty and The Beast. You cry awhile and you still cry awhile. 5 stars to the author. I will continue to read her novels
