Ruth Glick (born 1942) is a best-selling author of healthy cookbooks and has also written dozens of romantic suspense romance novels under the pen name Rebecca York.

Ruth earned a B.A. in American Thought and Civilization from George Washington University and an M.A. in American Studies from the University of Maryland. Although she always wanted to become a writer, Glick was convinced that her lack of spelling skills meant that her goal was unattainable. As a stay-at-home mother, she took a community college course to help her choose a career. The course made it very clear that writing was her primary interest. Glick began writing articles for newspapers and magazines, but after several years decided to try writing fiction. Her first book, a kids' science fiction book, was finally purchased by Scholastic Inc..

Since then, Glick has become a highly successful author of over 50 romantic suspense and paranormal novels. Many of her novels are published under the Harlequin Intrigue line, and in June 2003, she became one of the first authors published under Berkley's new Sensation imprint. Before 1997, she often collaborated with Eileen Buckholtz and Kathryn Jenson.

Glick also is a highly regarded author of cookbooks focusing on healthy eating. She sometimes hires trained chefs to test the recipes that she creates, and makes sure that every recipe is tested at least three times before it appears in one of her cookbooks.

Glick is the head of the Columbia Writers Workshop. She and her husband, Norman Glick, live in Columbia, Maryland, where Ruth collects rocks, and enjoys cooking, walking, reading, gardening, travel, and Mozart operas. Fire on the Moon by Rebecca York is a paranormal romantic suspense story. It is the 19th book in the Decorah Security Series, but can be read as a standalone novel.

The book mainly takes place in Florida where Francesca Turner has gone to visit her uncle. Francesca’s father is in a nursing home and she hopes to be able get the two brothers to reconcile their differences. While things start out okay, they quickly spiral out of control for her. Two men approach her uncle’s house who hides her in a safe room. She is initially saved by werewolf Zane Marshall and they end up fighting a group of unknowns for survival.

The novel is written well but is short (161 pages) so there is not a lot of character development. While you experience the ups and downs of Francesca and Zane, you don’t get an understanding of what they would be like under normal circumstances. It is easy to read, but does touch on some real issues such as dealing with a family member that has Parkinson’s Disease.

Because of the shortness of the book, it is very fast-paced with a lot of action scenes as well as a few steamy romantic scenes. The romance part of the book starts very quickly which made it somewhat unbelievable. However, the book is entertaining, has a twist that may surprise some, and overall, was an enjoyable read. I recommend it to those that like paranormal romantic suspense stories.

Fire on the Moon by Rebecca York was action packed from the first chapter.

Francesca Turner is visiting her Uncle Angelo in Florida when the story begins. She is rescued by Zane Marshall, a Decorah Security agent, and the pace of the story flys from there. There were plenty of twists throughout the story even up to the reveal. I never guessed what was really going on until the reveal. I enjoy Ms. York's writing as it always grabs my attention with her fast paced plot and all of the Decorah Security agents' paranormal abilities. As this is a novella, the story is short and some character development of Francesca and Zane was not as thorough as it might have been in a longer length book; but I liked both these characters and could understand how a relationship between them could develop quickly as they worked together to figure out the mystery.

I voluntarily reviewed an Advance Reader Copy of this book. All of the above opinions are my own.

I usually love Rebecca’s books but this one just fell flat for me, the alpha male just wasn’t really alpha (and yeah I know what your going to say but if you read these books, you do so for a reason and you want an Alpha or you wouldn’t be reading them) Francesca isn’t meant to trust easily, but turns out she does trust easily. It was still a nice read, just a lot of issues and not the best I’ve read from Ms. York.

Francesca Turner visits her estranged uncle’s estate in Florida only to step into a death trap and only the help of werewolf Zane Marshall help her escape. Being hunted, they must fight for survival and the happily ever after they both desire.

As usual, the author creates a vivid story with wonderful, strong characters that easily draw readers into their story and in this ‘Decorah Security’ romance, Zane Marshall just happened to be in the right place and right time when he saw a female trying to escape from thugs and a burning house, imagine his surprise when it turns out that Francesca is his mate. The chemistry is between them is electrical and the emotions turbulent, especially as she discovers his secret. Lot of suspense and excitement to be found throughout this fast paced, exhilarating romance that also has a stunning conclusion that readers don’t see coming.

A big thank you to NetGalley and Author Collective 20 for the ARC. I am voluntarily reviewing this book. this is part of a series (number 19) but reads well as a stand alone. I have read a few others, for me this was just ok. There is a mystery and suspense but it didn't seem realistic. she mentions healing powers of werewolves yet a gunshot wound knocks him out, and I thought werewolves.had.great eyesight yet he stumbles over something in the dark. The dealings with the police are not plausible in my opinion. It is a quick good read with instant attraction. I think many will enjoy this book, it just wasn't one of her strongest in my opinion. I give it 3 stars.

Sunny Florida really shouldn't hold that much danger for Francesca. She has gone to visit her long lost uncle, in the hopes of reconciling her father and his brother before he passes away.

She only just arrives at her uncles home when she is targeted but thankfully she is rescued by Zane. Unbeknownst to her Zane doesn't have a trained guard dog, she actually met his furry, werewolf, alter-ego!

Quick, fast-paced novel. Takes place over quite a short period of time. I did enjoy finding out about the characters dealing with Parkinson’s Disease. Plenty of action and steam-filled passion to keep you engaged. You will definitely have a "WTF" moment with some of the twists.

Another winner! I thoroughly enjoyed this paranormal romance featuring Zane, a werewolf and Decorah agent. He comes to Fransesca's aid as a wolf when she is being attacked. They are quickly on the run for their lives as Zane fights both his attraction to Fransesca and how (or if) to tell her he's a werewolf. I loved the characters and loved reading Zane's story.

This book has all the action and romance you would expect in a Decorah Security novel and does not disappoint. It also had a twist I never saw coming. If you are a fan of the genre, you will love this book. The author is on my must read authors' list.

I enjoyed this book. I thought the storyline was decent and the characters were quite relatable for the most part. This story wasn't exactly what I thought it was going to be about, but that just added to the pleasantness. I am looking forward to seeking out and finding more books by Ms. Rebecca York and reading them.

Fire on the Moon by Rebecca York is #19 in a series she has been writing for a long time. It is the continuing story of alpha werewolves who find their mates in many different places. The main male character, Zane, is part of Decorah Security and is in Florida on a case. Well, the case is over and he is taking some R&R as he and his wolf have been restless. Enter Francesca Turner who has come to Florida to reconnect with an uncle she hasn’t seen since she was a little girl. The problem is that her father is very ill and has been talking about reconnecting with this uncle, but they are part of the witness protection program and the uncle is not. Well, we know how that’s going to work out. Anyway, the main characters meet and there is a strong connection between them but Francesca doesn’t really understand it. Zane does. Will the work it out, will the uncle reunite with his brother? Who were those men on the beach that tried to kidnap Francesca? Read to find the answers to these and other questions.

Zane sees a situation from the beach that leads to him finding his mate. Francesca is visiting her long lost uncle in an attempt to reunite him and her father. What ensues next will have the reader guessing. Both Zane and Francesca find themselves embroiled in multiple murders, running from the law and sharing their deepest and darkest secrets. Will she accept the wolf within? You'll have to read it to find out.

Francesca wants to reconnect her uncle and her dying father. Unfortunately he's not in with the good crowd. Zane, our Decorah Security agent just happens to be in the area after finishing his case. Super lucky for her because she sure wouldn't have survived on her own. Thankfully for her she is his mate and the werewolf has serious survival skills.

Francesca wondered if she had leaped into the middle of a family feud? Or was she going to heal a twenty year old rift between two brothers. His dying father kept saying he wanted to see his older brother Angelo one last time. She did some research and called him on the phone. Then she offered to come and talk to him and go from there. Uncle Angelo showed her an antique gold locket. Angelo said it was Francesca’s grandmothers. He added he didn’t have a daughter and he’d be happy if Francesca took it. He than told her to wear it with pride. Than she asked what happened to Angelo and her father? But Francesca saw two large tough looking men coming toward the fence down on the beach. Than Angelo told her to come quick and open the coat closet and pushed aside the clothes aside and pressed the edge of the back wall. A door slid open and he shoved her into a dark closed in space. He said”Don’t make a sound if you don’t want to be dragged into this.” Quickly he closed the door and walked away. She knew her uncle was being hurt by those men she could hear it. Then she heard gunshots. After that she heard the men say they had to find her. One said” Do you think she has any info?” The other man said said “she’s got info we just iffed her uncle. Put him in the trunk and I’ll look for her.” Zane was running along the beach, he was a werewolf. Chuck Cruise had heard about the track record of Decorah Security in the paranormal field and had called Frank Decorah with an urgent plea. He believed his property was under attack from a malevolent spook trying to drive him away. Zane had been glad to take the assignment because he’d been restless in his usual routine. When he arrived he listed to a long recitation by Mr. Cruise. He told cruise he’d got to the bottom of it and set hidden cameras around the property. He’d gotten footage of a vengeful neighbor trying to scar the Decorah client. Zane had almost gotten shot and the boss gave him the week off. Zane saw the two men on the veranda. One picked up something he couldn’t see and stuffed it into his pocket. Zane was unable to tamp down his detective curiosity. Something was out of pattern here and he’d like to know what. Her father had always implied that her uncle was a dangerous character who ran with bad company. She got out of the small hidden place and came out on the side of the house. One of the bad guys stepped out of some shrubbery and had a gun pointed at her. But a very large dog attacked him and knocked him down and bit him. Than the animal went after the second bad guy. Francesca ran down the beach. Then she heard footsteps rapidly catching up to her. She tried to go faster but was already exhausted. The person was not the bad guys and he said” Wait, I saw what happened. I can help you.”
Another great read. I loved this book. I only put it down long enough to get a couple of hours of sleep. I loved the ending. I loved how protective Zane was of Francesca. I also loved how Francesca accepted he was a werewolf and wouldn’t hurt her when she found out. I loved how Zane went to his boss and he immediately was all in to help Francesca and used any resources they had that would help Zane keep her and himself safe. I loved Zane and Francesca together and how they interacted with each other. I loved the intrigue and suspense of this book and also the action in this book.I loved the characters and the ins and outs of this book and I highly recommend it.

I must say I was a little disappointed in this book. York was one of the first authors I started with when I developed my love for reading. I loved her Moon series and devoured them as soon as I got them. She was one of the first paranormal authors I enjoyed. I have not read many of her Decorah Security series but, to me, this series is just not on par with her Moon series, and I struggled to really get into this story. The storyline seemed choppy and had a few plot holes and the awkward conversations between Zane and Francesca were uncomfortable. There was no real ‘connection’ between them and no chemistry, it felt forced and his passive-aggressive attitude regarding a relationship with her drove me crazy. There were also several contradicting things with Zane. He was supposed to be an Alpha wolf but yet seemed more submissive and cowering in attitude instead of the big, bad, air of danger, with a backoff vibe. He also was supposed to be strong, resilient, have super hearing, eyesight, healing…you know, all the things a werewolf should, yet he got shot and struggled for days, was weak and relied on Francesca to do everything (which no Alpha would do) and he was tripping around in the dark, again which should not happen (his eyesight should be heightened from his wolf). Also, he was supposed to be a hotshot in security (Decorah Security) yet he could not manage to hide them and stay off the grid without being found. There were just several things that did not ring true. Aside from my struggles with the story, it was still an enjoyable quick read. If you are a huge fan of York and have kept up with all the stories in this series, I am sure it will be a great read for you, but for me, it was just not on par with her previous books I have enjoyed in the past.

***ARC was provided to me by Net Galley and the Publisher for a fair and honest review***

Overall rating: 3/5 Werewolf bodyguard turned love interest story.

Heroine (Francesca Turner): 3/5 Francesca is a human girl who tries not to be overly trusting of those she meets due to her family’s history. However she trusts pretty easily. She is a freelance editor.

Hero (Zane Marshall): 3/5 Zane is a restless werewolf who tries his best to protect those he cares about. He is a security agent for Decorah Security.

Plot: 3/5 Francesca travels from Mass to Naples Florida to reconnect with her uncle so that he can see his dying brother one more time. Things go wrong and Zane ends up having to rescue Francesca from thugs who set her uncle’s house ablaze. Can he keep things professional and find her uncle’s killers or will he find his life’s mate in a very unexpected place?

Personal Review: Francesca asks so few questions when the guy she sleeps with once tells her that by genetic default they were destined to be together. And then asks minimal, surface level questions about her boyfriend being a werewolf. I know this is another installment to a long running series and so the audience shouldn’t have too many questions, but Francesca didn’t read the other stories. And she takes it much better than I think a normal person would.

The banter between the two was mostly good. The ending is a tad predictable and a little cliche but I don’t think anyone reading these stories expect anything different. I wish there was more of a purpose for Zane being a werewolf, he only uses the ability three times in the story and one is for the sole purpose of Francesca seeing him, the other two could have had other human solutions. He didn’t have to track anything, or use other heightened wolf senses, or use anything other than wolf brute force.

Overall I would read another book from the author and I had a decent read with one.

Francesca heads to Florida to meet her Uncle in hopes of a reconciliation with her ailing father. Little does she know that Uncle Angelo has some shady associates. Francesca is in need of rescuing and Zane is in the right place at the right time.

Overall a decent read. There's insta-attraction as Zane has found his lifemate. Francesca is attracted and doesn't know why. Zane works for a detective agency and has the skills to keep Francesca safe. The mystery aspect of the book worked well.

What I didn't like. Zane is injured protecting Francesca. The book mentions the superior healing abilities of werewolves, yet Zane is knocked on his butt for at least 2 days recoving from a gunshot wound in his arm. Um, how are those healing abilities working out? Mentioned several times about how all the werewolves are all Alpha males yet Zane seemed fairly wussy at times. Last thing I'll somewhat gripe about is the wrap up of the mystery. Of course Francesca and Zane get their HEA (as is expected and desired). Their dealing with the police at the end was really implausible.

The good outweighed the less than good. No regrets in reading this one.

Thanks for NetGalley for the opportunity to read and review this book.

Francesca Turner just wanted to heal the rift between her Uncle Angelo and her father. Twenty years had passed since she and her father had seen or talked to Angelo. Francesca just wanted to grant her dying father's wish.... Unfortunately, Francesca finds herself trapped in a cage of danger and terror, with only a stranger to protect her.

Zane Marshall, a wolf shifter, was enjoying a run along the beach; his wolf was feeling restless, but he knew he couldn't been seen in public in his wolf form. While jogging, he noticed two strange men forcing their way into a secluded mansion. His curiosity engaged, Zane decides to investigate, and his world is tilted on its axis....

Francesca and Zane play a dangerous and deadly game of hide and seek with mysterious thugs, while trying to deny the sexual heat that is burning between them. Will Zane be able to keep Francesca safe, or will they meet the same fate as Uncle Angelo... and if they do survive, will they survive Francesca's discovery of Zane's secret?

Years ago I used to read Rebecca York's books when they were published by Harlequin. I don't know if my memory regards these books as a lot better than they were, or if they were better than Fire on the Moon was. I'm not sure what the title has to do with anything that goes on in the book. Every iota of the book is incredibly predictable. It has gaping holes in it, very little character development, and it starts abruptly. The chemistry feels forced and awkward between Zane and Francesca, who meet when Francesca is down in Florida to meet her uncle, and things quickly spiral out of control - compelling Zane to help her. They go into hiding to avoid the people that were after Francesca's uncle, but don't seem to do a good job at it. This strikes me as ironic, since Zane's job is security. Overall, I wasn't impressed, and also more than a little disappointed that this didn't come anywhere close to my expectations of York from years ago.

It has been awhile since I read any of Rebecca Yorks books I am glad that I picked this one up to read.! It is the 19th in this series and can be read without reading the others. I am going to go back and read the rest as I really enjoyed this one. It was fast paced and had a bit of everything in it. Romance, mystery action mob and did I say Romance!! Francesca Turner go to find her Uncle that she hasn't seen since she was a child to try and arrange a visit for her father who is in ill health and in the witness protection . Needless to say things go downhill from there but luckily Zane is around at the time (he is a werewolf by the way!) and helps her knowing she is his mate. He is part of the Decorah Security team and does all he can to help her out of the situation she finds herself in while trying to gradually get her used to him. such a fun book to read. very well though out book with great characters. Loved it.

Zane is a werewolf and a employee of a security company. He is in Florida on assignment and notices some men tossing a patio. He investigates and finds a woman. Francesca is visiting her uncle to try to get him and her father to reconcile. Her uncle is killed and now the thugs are after her. Zane knows Francesca is his life mate but can’t tell her he’s a werewolf until they figure out why the men are after her. As they are on the run, the sparks between them light up. Can he save her and convince her they belong together?
Good story with action, sex, and suspense. The conversations was a little stilted at time but it’s a good book overall.

Decorah Security is on point! Wow, I had no idea that Francesca would find herself in this tangled web of deceit. Realistically, sometimes you just have to love family from a distance. I like her though because she is brave, a fighter, compassionate & outgoing. I like Zane too, he really wants to take care & protect her but he's doesn't quite understand the lifemate concept so his insecurity is endearing. This couple are not only instantly attracted to one another but they actually make a great team. Very interesting plot which I enjoyed reading & learning along with Francesca about the skeletons in her family closet. I received an advance review copy at no cost and without obligation from the author.

Fire on the Moon is book #19 in the Decorah Security series written by Rebecca York. I was a big fan back when I was younger, but now I think I may have outgrown her as a reader. Because Fire on the Moon was to contrive to be believable. For instance, the instant chemistry between the two main characters.
Francesca Turner was in town to rekindle a relationship with her father’s younger brother. During the course….of only a few minutes, chaos breaks loose, now Francesca finds herself on the run with Zane Marshal a detective with Decorah Security.
The author tried to show the character development, but in the telling, it just seemed rushed and not believable.
Fire on the Moon a paranormal romance that some readers might enjoy. Not one of the best PNR that I read.

This is another addition to the Decorah Securities story line While it was Ok it was a little bit predictable in that by the end of the first chapter I had most of it worked out After saying that the chemistry between Zane and Francesca is quite good. There isn't very much emphasis on the fact that Zane is a wolf shifter it is almost an afterthought

Francesca has gone to see her uncle hoping that she can get him and her father to reconcile before her father dies What she steps into is suspense and drama That seems to revolve around Zane detective who works for Decorah Security. Why is she so attracted to him You will have to read to see

This is a review of a copy provided by Netgalley. I haven't read any of the other books in the series, however there didn't seem to be any required background knowledge to follow the storyline.

Sadly I didn't enjoy this story, I found the dialogue to be stilted and interactions a bit awkward. I didn't feel that the fated mates / insta-love trope was well written, the romance was pretty subdued. The action scenes were also not that fast paced or exciting.

Overall, the story isn't a terrible read, but I did personally find it quite bland.

It had been a minute since I had read this author with it soon being revealed why I so enjoy them. Her writing and her worlds are able to wrap around us including us with the characters.
Having read a few from this series I was not totally unfamiliar with it.
Zane and Francesca take you through this one. This also happens to be a quick read with suspense and drama that fit that pace. Having a paranormal edge it has that flavor that adds to it. It will also give a twist that makes up for the quickness that this one is soon over.

Francesca went on a trip to reunite her father with his brother. It soon became a nightmare as the reason her father went into the witness protection programme became clear. Zane is a wolf shifter who works for Decorah Security. Fate is at play and this is a hot wild adventure romance. All questions are answered in the end along with a happy ending. I received enjoyed this book and look forward to the next in the series.

Plenty of wrong in Francesca's family but she doesn't know half of it. Things go off course when she visits her Uncle and Zane comes to the rescue. We know he's a wolf and works for Decorah Security, but she's kept in the dark for a bit. There's plenty of suspense and action here, the fact he's a wolf only plays a partial role. I found the story fast paced and exciting, one of the better books of the standalone series. I received my copy through Netgalley.

This was a well written, fast paced, romantic suspense. The suspenseful storyline had plenty of twists and turns that kept me on the edge of my seat. Although, this was a paranormal romance the story was centered around Zane and Francesca. He was trying to keep her safe and trying to figure out why someone was after her. This was a wonderful romantic suspense story and I would definitely recommend it.

The Decorah Security Series is one of the best Series that I have ever read; and I read a lot. It has a mix of romance and action. It keeps you guessing until the end and it’s never slow. I could not put it down. Zane and Francesca are perfect together. Also the series not only have strong male ( werewolf) but the females are strong, resourceful and independent as well
