Young changemakers launch "Things to Do While Quarantined" on Amazon
First digital book created by kids for kids during COVID-19
It’s official. The kid bosses of Canada’s global-reaching Young Entrepreneurs e-camp posted a milestone today with the release of “Things to Do While Quarantined”, the first book produced by kids for kids about the many activities and edu-tainment projects that will make staying at home during COVID-19 lockdowns more fun, relatable and stress-free. And, more meaningful.
Entirely created and executed from concept to writing to artwork by seven kids working digitally from two continents, “Things to Do While Quarantined” offers kids 100 pages of great tips, ideas, games, hacks, recipes, blog suggestions, exercise, motivational quotes, and arts and crafts they can engage in at home as age appropriate. 50 per cent of the proceeds from the sale of the book on Amazon will go to the World Health Organization (WHO) to help fight COVID-19.
The kid bosses worked two hours a day for five days to complete the project.
“From Asia to Europe to North America, Africa and Australia, we realized that we’re all in this together,” say the co-authors, who range in age from 9-13 years old. “As kids, while we missed going to school and hanging out with our friends, we’re lucky that our biggest problem was finding new ways to have fun at home with our families. We were given a challenge to become real-life superheroes and help others.”
The top-rated Young Entrepreneurs camp created by Canada’s Explorer Hop (www.explorerhop.com) is now virtual in the time of COVID-19, bringing together kids from all over the world to create one project together and become Changemakers early in their lives. Coming up from other Young Entrepreneurs is a “Virtual Wall of Hugs”.
