Harry Ping lost his memory and quit his job as a detective, but his retirement doesn't last long--when his neighbor has a terrifying encounter with a woman made of fire, Harry takes the case. As he and his friend Trinket try to uncover the flaming woman's identity, they discover a connection to the masked crimefighters of World War II. But can Harry figure out what's going on, when he can't even come to terms with his own identity?
I found this because it was a free kindle download. I'm 43, and struggle to find books I love to read. I liked Harry Potter because it was magical. I liked the alphabet series by Sue Grafton because it's just unpredictable enough to without being too complicated. Connor tells the story with ease. He paints the pictures with just enough detail and has good character development. It has just enough magic in it to make me believe anything is possible while keeping my mind engaged to what's going to happen next. I (legit) read the whole thing in one sitting. I'm definately looking for more.
