Snoopy once more becomes an astronaut as he and Woodstock set off into space.
Sally and Charlie Brown look out of the window and see the duo, complete with space helmets heading out for some action. Sally says to Charlie, 'I think that silly dog of yours is up to something.' And then, noting their space helmets adds, 'It looks like he's about to go to outer space!' Charlie's amusing reply, 'He's either going to space or he's made a crazy fashion choice!'
Well it is the former and after safety checks they are ready to go and visit the International Space Station, a pop-up model of which appears in the book! Snoopy tells Woodstock, 'The mission is important' and off they go.
They circle the earth every 90 minutes and Snoopy is convinced that someone down there will see them so Woodstock gives a wave as they float around the inside of their rocket. They hae fun preparing their food before Snoopy tells Woodstock that there will be astronauts and scientists from all over the world when they get there.
But they discover there will be someone else too after they hear ZZZZ ... coming from an adjacent part of the rocket. And who do they discover there? None other than Peppermint Patty in her sleeping bag that is tied to the wall.
Can you imagine what has happened? Well in a surprise ending, Patty wakes up and has to ring Charlie wondering why Snoopy and Woodstock are wandering around in space suits. Patty's only explanation is, 'Your dog is weird, Chuck.'
You can't beat Snoopy and friends for a good laugh and here is another one!

I loved this little story. It got a genuine giggle out of me. I now look for this series and am trying to collect all of them.
