Every cloud, they say, has a silver lining. If there is one action of India’s 1962 fiasco in the Northeast
that counts as a moment to treasure, it is the battle of Nuranang. Sikhs, Rajputs, Gorkhas and
Garhwalis all fought like tigers. But towering above their stories of courage is a saga of selfless
love and indomitable courage. The actors on this brief stage were a Garhwali solider, and two
anonymous Monpa girls.
This is the story of that legendary soldier, Jaswant Singh Rawat.
When Jaswant Singh Rawat arrives in Tawang with his battalion, he is already a hero for his
friends and colleagues. But his meeting with the sisters, Sela and Noora, transforms their lives and
the history of a nation, in a way rarely seen before. Love blossoms, even as the dogs of war are
unleashed. Will Jaswant’s love for his Monpa beloved win the day? Are Noora and Sela’s pristine
affections doomed to be crushed under the boots of a marauding, relentless enemy? Will hate
and jealousy triumph, or love conquer?

Some peoples leave a deep impact in life. Their stories are remembered forever, and we feel proud of them

The book is based on the real story of Jaswant Singh Rawat. During the time of 1962 India and China were at the stage of the war.

Indian soldiers were ready to face them. Despite having less strength they have enough confidence that they will fight and do their best possible way to win the battle.
The book is more than a battle but also a love story.
The book starts with the person named Lieutenant Akash Sinha.
He heard much about Jaswant Singh Rawat.
And tries to find out more about him. He met a person named Sela who is the major part of the incident happened in 1962.

Starting from the beginning to the end the book is written very well.

Read the book to find out who Jaswant Singh Rawat is and why his name is still taken

If you are searching for something based on a true incident, this book is for you

The story is about the bravery of the renowned soldier Jaswant Singh Rawat and the courage of two Monpa sisters- Sela and Noora. The book is based on 1962 Indo China war.

There are so many stories and myths about the bravery of Jaswant Singh but whereabouts of the two Monpa sisters were unknown.

The person who is very brave, courageous and never falls back to do his duty is called Veer and the Man who has every quality of a veer and also inspires others to become a veer is called Mahaveer.

Jaswant Singh had the personality of a Mahaveer. So, the title justifies the storyline appropriately and the tagline of the book is also true as soldiers never die they become martyred. They live in our hearts even after their death.

The story is very gripping and it gives flashes of Indo China war which makes it interesting and intriguing.

A good narration and usage of simple words makes this creation a good read.
I would recommend every Indian to read this.

It's one of the most amazing book I have ever read full of love, action, adventure, motivation, emotion and suspense.

It's a story of a soldier Jaswant Singh Rawat. And of his amazing bravery.

When the Chinese army had their bad eyes on India. They were unaware of an unforgettable incident.

Which will leave a deep scar on their hearts for forever.

During the 1962 war. Chinese army aarived in Tawang with a large number of soldiers. And then, the war begins.

Due to a very small amount of Indian soldiers in comparison to Chinese ones. The chiefs of the battalion call of the soldiers. Until the right strategy and right time.

But Jaswant Singh and some of his fellow soldiers refused to come back.

On the other hand the Chinese were very confident but completely unaware of this young lion like soldier, the rifleman Jaswant Singh Rawat.

Jaswant Singh was full of fire and anger. He was ready to do anything for the country.

His bravery and determination were amazing. So, with a limited amount of weapons but with an unlimited amount of courage.

They started fighting. Due to the large number of Chinese soldiers, Jaswant Singh and his battalion were facing huge losses.

And then, one by one every soldier got an amazing death. A death for the country, a death for the mother Earth, a death for the India.

Now, Jaswant Singh was alone but not weak.

He was still determined to win. So, with his brilliant skills and tactics he fought with Chinese soldiers.

And in this battle two Monpa girls were with him. The love of his life Noora was encouraging him as well as supporting him.

Soon, they got success to trick the Chinese soldiers. And then, Jaswant Singh killed more than 300 of them.

Chinese were shocked with this brave guy.

But then, something happens which made Jaswant Singh eternal for the country, for us and for every Indian.

So, how did he trick the Chinese soldiers ?

How did Noora and Sela helped him ?

And atlast what happened which made this young lion like soldier eternal forever ?

My friends read this book to find answers of all these questions.

If you like reading books full of action, adventure, love and patriotism then, just go with it guys.

It will make you realize the power of true love.

And how every day our army protects us from so many dangers.

It will show you how your determination and discipline can make you far more better and stronger than anything.

The war description is really heart touching. And the ending will make your eyes full of tears.

This book will increase your love and respect for our soldiers.

And it will motivate you for every battle of your life.

So, if you really want to be successful and have a lot of respect for your country then, just read it guys.

Lieutenant Akash Sinha the new officer in the Indian Army is posted in the India-China border. In his night patrolling of the area closer to border finds few armed men. Lieutenant Sinha arrests them doubting them to be spies, they turn out to be yak herders. This confusion raises the myth of Baba of Jaswantgarh and a couple of Monpa girls.

This myth is rooted in that area over past decades connecting the fight of Rifleman Jaswant Singh Rawat and the Monpa girls at the nature of Nuranang.

In this brilliant book the authors share some incidents of the 1962 Sion-Indian War. It is a brilliant story describing the gallantry of a soldier and the involvement of the people settled in the war zone.

We easily comment on the task, work or life of a soldier, but we fail to understand it; this book will help the reader to feel and understand the emotions of a soldier. If not this pick the book to know Rifleman Jaswant Singh Rawat and know why he is remembered even today.

✨MAHAVEER- The Soldier who never died✨
Author: Rupa Srikumar and A.K. Srikumar
.
.
It is one of those books which will stay in my mind for a long time. This is not just a simple story of a soldier but is something more than that. The story revolves around a real soldier Jaswant Singh Rawat who was an important part of the Indo- Chinese war in 1962. He went to Tawang along with his team and meets two Monpa girls , Noora and Sela.
Their lives change and in between love blossoms too. Jaswant Rawat with the help of the two girls fights against China and this part of the story was the best one to read. They fought without any fear until their last breath. I can't even explain you how heart touching the story was.
The book kept me hooked until I finished reading. I would definitely recommend this book to everyone. Grab your copy as soon as possible.

I have huge respect for army and their work so I couldn’t resist picking this up seeing cover only. And I must say this is the most suitable title for this book. It’s a story of Rifleman Jaswant Singh Rawat. It’s based on true story so that fascinated me the most. And there are two more important characters as well, two Monpa girls Noora and Sela. The story is of 1962 war between India and China. I could predict the story about the soldiers but the story of two girls fascinated and inspired me the most. As I said, the book is of non fiction genre or we can say based on true events bit still story is breathtaking with lots of twists and turns. It’s a story of courage and inspiration for me. I have never read about a soldier’s life so closely before and it was something different read for me. I liked the narration style of the authors. It flowed smoothly. I could imagine all the events taking place in front of my eyes. Authors has chosen wonderful vocabulary and language. Overall good one. Recommended from my side.

As I love to read stories around war and this is my first book which talked about Indo china 1962 war. This story is just not about war but also a true love story of Jaswant Singh rawat. Story is so intriguing and captivating from start when lt. Akash was send there to Tawang for investigation about a case related to monpa sisters .
This Story is about bravery, courage and love which keeps me hooked till the end the way authors portrays each scene is so vividly like I can imagine the things. I like characters of both the girls Noora and Sela, how they helped jaswant in war against chaina. The best thing I liked the way he wrote letters to his mother which was really emotional to read and how he shared each tiny details about what he eat or not.
So this book is definitely deserves a more praise because the amount of research they have been put in this book is really admirable. Overall a good read .

Name of the book- Mahaveer: The Soldier Who Never Died by Rupa Srikumar & A.K. Srikumar.
Stars given- 5 on 6 stars.
My take on the book-
Ever read a book and cried or felt goosebumps?
Then this is the book for you.
After watching movies like Border, LOC or even Lakshya one tends to understand what our brave soldiers go through both on and off the field.
There is so much that happens which we have no idea about and here's to thanking them with my whole heart and soul.
Coming back to the book, it's very well written. There is no additional baggage or over the top big words. It's worded in a way that gives the reader a clear picture of the story as if movie is going on in their minds.
I dearly enjoyed it.
Hope you will too.
PS Hope everyone is doing well.
God Bless.

A soldier is a one who sacrifices everything for the sake of their nation. The soldier above all others prays for peace, for it is the soldier who must suffer and bear the deepest wounds and scars of war.

Will hate and jealousy triumph, or love conquer?’

‘Mahaveer: The Soldier Who Never Died’ by Rupa Srikumar & A.K. Srikumar is a very inspiring story of Jawant Singh Rawat. Lieutenant Akash Singh has heard many stories of Jaswant Singh Rawat and is curious to know more about him. In this curiosity he makes up his mind and meets Sela who was a part of the India and China War in 1962. Akash learns from Sela about Jaswant Singh’s family and how she met him. Soon he gets to know a lot of things which are very adventurous, dangerous but he was a very brave man. To know more about the dangerous adventures and how his love story blooms read ‘Mahaveer: The Soldier Who Never Died’.

My Thoughts:

The plot is very interesting and the bravery of the soldiers has been nicely depicted. The bravery, selfless love for the country and how they don’t think about their family their loved ones first keeping the country on the priority is commendable. I loved the plot and the twist and turns in the book kept me on the edge throughout the book.

The characters are portrayed beautifully. Jaswant Singh’s character is beautifully written. We get to see the many difficulties and sacrifices that our soldiers do only to keep us safe. The sacrifice their family their loved one and this has been nicely shown by the author.

The language is simple and lucid and the narration is done beautifully.

The book cover and the title of the book is apt to the story.

Overall, I loved reading this book and I would recommend it to everyone.

Title : Mahaveer
Author : Rupa Srikumar and A.K.Srikumar
Language : English
Edition : Paperback
Pages : 216

A soldier is the pride of the nation. He rise above himself to defend the nation. Their profession brings out the best qualities in them. They set examples to be strong and daring to other people. Words fell short when we decide to discuss about the sacrifices of a soldier.

They are selfless people. They defend our country at all cost. When we are cozily confined within our luxury, they struggle hard to keep us protected by all means. The current book is based on true life events. It is the true story of the legendary Jaswant Singh Rawat, the hero of the Indo-China War 1962.

War stories are always heart wrenching. This story is extraordinary and unique. A war story along with a love story. In Dehradun Jaswant Singh Rawat is famously known as Baba Jaswant. He fell in love with a Monpa girl when the war was looming around. He killed 300 Chinese army men alone with the help of two girls. He was martyred in 1962 but is still guards the north eastern frontier of India.

The story is a action packed thriller. It also carries a heart wrenching love story with it. War stories talk about the bravery and chivalry of the soldiers but often end on a sad note, leaving an ache in our heart along with a deep thought.

The cover of the book is very beautiful and attractive. The slogan : The Soldier who never died, is very strong indeed. It catches the attention of the reader instantly. The flow of the book is well paced. The characters are well developed. The language is simple and easy to understand. The plot is also very interesting.

While reading the book we are filled with patriotism and love for our mother land. This book is a must for everyone.

BOOK :MAHAVEER (The soldier who never died )

Authors :Rupa SriKumar and A.K.Srikumar .

🌏This Story is about battle of Nuranang in present-day Arunachal Pradesh, India, during the Sino-Indian War in 1962.
.
🌏At present:
Lieutenant Akash sinha got a new responsibility, of generating ‘sadbhavana’ – goodwill for the Army in the people of Tawang. In any case, the Major had been clear, that this ‘investigation’ of the gram panchayats’ claim for a memorial was only an exercise in circumlocution.
(Investigation is about people of Tawang, seeking a memorial for those Monpa girls, who they claim helped Rifleman Jaswant Singh Rawat at the battle of Nuranang.)
.
🌏Here our lieutenant, should prove by investigation , is that mopa girls helped , jaswant Singh rawath is myth or truth?
.
🌏Totally This story is about battle of Nuranang, Sino-Indian war , 1962. How Jaswant Singh rawath killed 300 Chinese army many in 3 days ? Did he take any help by mopa girls is the story .

Love wins, anytime, anywhere. 'Mahaveer' by Rupa Srikumar and A. K. Srikumar is a realistic fiction based on the 1962 Indo-China war. It's the story about the renowned soldier, Jaswant Singh Rawat, and the undeniable courage of two Monpa sisters - Sela and Noora. When in the midst of war, love finds a place, will it be let to bloom? Or will hate overpower the sweetness of love?

I have heard and read about the bravery of Jaswant Singh Rawat, and was baffled at the stories and probable myths surrounding the ever-present soul of this soldier, still guarding the Indian borders. Although the stories of the two Monpa girls were unknown, I am glad that I could read it. It might be true or is just a work of fiction, but whatever it is, it made sense. This goes on to show that the authors had put life into the story. The narration was backed by proper research. My favourite character was definitely Noora; her nature truly got to me. She had such complex emotions but was so pure, at the same time. It is such a heartfelt story.

The only flaws were the abrupt transition of scenes in certain sections of the novel, which left me confused in places. The flow of the story was great and the language was easy. I so wished the cover would have done justice to the book. This book deserves a better representative cover.

Overall, this is a book I would definitely recommend. It is a page-turner and fiction lovers should surely give it a try.

Final Rating: 4/5

The cover is simply good provided the plot and the story of the novel.

The title "Mahaveer" seems good as the plot is based on the love story of an Indian Army man. It’s simple and attractive.

The Blurb is thought provoking with the mention of the Baba Jaswant, whose Soul still protect the North Eastern borders.

This is the story of Jaswant Singh Rawat, aka Baba Jaswant. This is a Story of a True Hero.
This is a story of Selfless Love. Other two characters are Monpa Sisters, Sela and Noora.

A Garhwali Boy from Uttarakhand, who joins Army single-handedly fought against China in 1962.

Like anyone Armyman, Jaswant was willing to do anything for his country. The legend is that Even today His Soul guards the Border. The story is a real thriller. Once you start, you won’t be able to put it down till you complete it.

The language used is really good. The narration is simply interesting and all the three characters are crafted beautifully. This is an story of love, affection, courage, duty, heart, and honour.

It’s a recommended read for book lovers who like to read thriller or romantic stories, or Stories of Army man.

RATING- 9/10
This book is based on a real life events and displayed the Bravery of a soldier during indo-china war in 1962. The story revolves around a soldier named Jaswant Singh Rawat who played an impeccable role in the war. The story is well paced and narration is done at its best. The story is well described and illustrates the life of a soldier. The books is written in a lucid language and would definitely wake up the patriot in you that only comes out of its slumber on National Holidays. I'm completely impressed by the cover and title of this book which completely justify the plot and the story. The Indo-China war was a very tough time for the country and the author has described the events really well to take the readers through those times which created history. The book has elements of love as well as the side of war which makes it a balanced one. One can understand what a soldier goes through, what actually he feels when he has such responsibilities to fulfill and the emotional parts when a soldier returns home has been depicted well. Through this book I am completely know about the soldier life and some incidents of it. Reading this book was really a wonderful experience for me.

Book Name- Mahaveer: The Soldier who never died
Author- Rupa Srikumar and A.K. Srikumar
Review- Mahaveer is a book based on the war events that took place in 1962. It highlights the Sino-Indian war and the story line revolves around Jaswant Singh Rawat who played a major role in the war. The concept of this book being based on real events is the best part about the book. It throws light on those times which are not known to everyone in this era. The Indo-China war was indeed a tough time for the country and the author has described the events really well to take the readers through those times which created history. The book has elements of love as well as the side of war which makes it a balanced one since it is not completely bending on one side. One can understand what a soldier goes through, what actually he feels when he has such responsibilities to fulfill and the emotional parts when a soldier returns home has been depicted well. The sino-indian war has been penned down in a way which takes the reader through the entire journey and one becomes a part of the journey with the flip of pages. The title is aptly chosen and suits the content really well.

Mahaveer - The soldier who never died by Rupa Srikumar & A.K. Srikumar!

Every cloud, they say, has a silver lining. If there is one action of India’s 1962 fiasco in the Northeast that counts as a moment to treasure, it is the battle of Nuranang. Sikhs, Rajputs, Gorkhas and Garhwalis all fought like tigers. But towering above their stories of courage is a saga of selfless love and indomitable courage. The actors on this brief stage were a Garhwali solider, and two anonymous Monpa girls. This is the story of that legendary soldier, Jaswant Singh Rawat.

Will Jaswant’s love for his Monpa beloved win the day? Are Noora and Sela’s pristine affections doomed to be crushed under the boots of a marauding, relentless enemy? Will hate and jealousy triumph, or love conquer?

From the start to end, the book was one that couldn't be put down. It was an engaging read and fast paced. There were way too many emotions for me to keep up with but all in all it was a wonderful book to read and all of it was based on real events!

Some stories leave so much impact on your mind that you can never forget them. Some take you to the land of mesmerization and positivity that changes your perception to see the world. "Mahaveer" was one of them. This masterpiece is written by Rupa Srikumar and A.K. Srikumar.

A soldier is indeed the glory of the nation as he keeps his life at stake for the sake of the country. "Mahaveer '' represents a heart-wrenching war story based on the plot of the Indo-China War in 1962. One more remarkable point is that this is the true story of legendary personality, Jaswant Singh Rawat, popularly known as Baba Jaswant. Divided into 25 chapters, the book reflects how Jaswant was martyred to protect the country, his love with Monapa girl and the nerve-wracking information of the war scenario.

The storyline as pre-mentioned is beautiful, the narration keeps me hooked to the story and the language with the rich vocabulary adds perfection. The title comes up with the proper emotion of patriotism and the book cover works well. Overall, the book has been an amazing read.

My rating to the book : 5/5

This is the saga of a legendary soldier, jaswant singh rawat. He is also called as Baba Jaswant. Baba Jaswant is a true hero and this book is all about of his saga of hardihood.
He was a country lover as he has unendurable love to his country.

As, I love and have deference for the army, I genuinely like the book cover because it has the army man on it. It send a grandiose impact on the readers.

This story is belongs to 1962 Indo- china war, where Jaswant singh rawat meet with two sisters Sela and Noora who helped him for the warfare against 300 Chinese men.

This book really shows the hardihood of Baba Jaswant and the two sisters.
This book is quite prodigious and inspiring. We get the opportunity to feel and to live the life of the soldiers.

I personally love this book and feel proud after reading that i am a citizen of that country where the soldier like Jaswant Singh Rawat and others soldiers are there.

This book puts the readers in the boots of a Indian Lieutenant Akash Sinha and takes us for a tour of the valleys near the Indo-Chinese borders. When on a patrol to verify intelligence of a Chinese border violation Akash is led by a whisper of an inanimate body and this gets him into an incident which changes his destiny.
The book speaks a lot about army, the Sino-Indian war of 1962 and the bravery of a rifleman in Indian army who martyred but never died. The book does justice to this iconic image of Indian war history by providing a vivid description of his act of bravery and vigor in the face of dire circumstances. The story is fluid and is written in a way such that it is easy to read without using too many heavy words to provide the vivid description it offers. I do agree that the story is brilliant and one should feel awestruck at the bravery which made Jaswant and the Manpa girls do what they did, but I do feel that his bravery could have been explained better in neutral colors. Books and movies based on wars usually try to capitalize over over patriotism and gullible feelings of people turning them away from facts, for one thing the facts were intact in this book (although he didn't mention a crucial point from the story) and it wasn't too patriotic, so I guess that's good and informative.

Historical Fiction is my favourite genre and if it is based on Indian modern history then I become more interested.

Mahaveer by Rupa Srikumar and A. K. Srikumar covers the bravery of the famous soldier Jaswant Singh Rawat and the courage of two Monpa sisters Sela and Noora.

In Historical fiction plot takes place in a setting located in the past. This book is based on 1962 Indo China war.

Works of this genre are sometimes criticized for lack of authenticity because of readerly criticism or genre expectations for accurate period details.

The authors took good care of the informations while narrating this intriguing piece.

Mahaveer is a Hindi word which we use as an adjective to express the personality of a person who is very brave, courageous and never falls back to do his duty. Jaswant Singh had the personality of Mahaveer. So, the title justifies the storyline.

The writing style is lucid and language is simple.
Recommended for everyone.

The story of bravery of Rifleman Jaswant Singh Rawat in Sino-Indian war 1962 is true, but there are so many legends attached to it. And this book is based on one such legend of a love triangle between Jaswant Singh Rawat and Monpa girls, Sula and Nura.
This book gives us one different legend attached to the Sino-Indian war.
The way story takes up a true story and adds a fiction to it very swift.
It was one book i didn't want to keep down at all till i reached the end. And when i finished the book, i had a very heavy heart.
Love, War, Patriotism, Sacrifices all these are expressed so well in this book. The narration is very captivating. The pace is extremely gripping, you won't feel like putting down the book at all.
.
The authors did an extremely brave job in picking up such a storyline to which a lot of emotions are attached and they did a great job.

Book review.
This is the story of that legendary soldier, Jaswant Singh Rawat. Stories is spin three main characters Jaswant Singh Rawat, Sela and Noora and based on real incidence in the year 1962 during the Indo-China war. The book is more than a battle but also a love story and has elements of love as well as the side of war which makes it blended.

Fast paced and enjoyable. A good story, with just a hint of military to provide the requisite skills.
The author writes well and the story moves at pace, without over telling, keeping the reader interested. Was looking for something to read a found this on the kindle deals. interesting characters with a nicely unfolding back story to explain the main story line.

The story revolves around the three main characters Jaswant Singh Rawat, Sela and Noora in the year 1962 during the Indo-China war. The character of jaswant singh is one of a brave solider and wonderful man, it really attracts the reader to the story.

The plot of the story is very interesting, it makes you curious to know what next. Authors through this book have been able to bring out the bravery, selfless love and sacrifices a solider has to make for his country. The language used is simple, but rich vocabulary used makes it a good read. The title is very apt and with the cover, it brings out a sense of patriotism.

It is story of courage, duty, love and sacrifice, it is bound to make you smile , cry and proud. I recommend this book to everyone who like war time stories (this is one of the best I have read).
