For no matter how many promises God has made, they are “Yes” in Christ. And so through him the “Amen” is spoken by us to the glory of God. —2 Corinthians 1:20 NIV
When we read God's Word, we find God's promises. Though it can be difficult to know how to apply them to our lives—or even if we should—the Bible makes an amazing claim that is itself a promise: All of God's promises are "Yes" in Jesus (2Co 1:20). In fact, many of God’s promises in Scripture grow and transform in the light of the gospel. In this three-week reading plan, we’ll explore many beloved promises of God, seeking to understand how Christ makes them certain and how they shape the future glory we will one day receive at His return.
She Reads Truth is a worldwide community of women who read God's Word together every day. Founded in 2012, She Reads Truth invites women of all ages to engage Scripture through curated daily reading plans, as well as online conversation led by a vibrant community of contributing writers. This community of “Women in the Word of God every day” represents a long list of cities and countries, a variety of backgrounds and traditions, and countless real-life stories. But there is a commonality that binds us: we believe God's Word is Truth. So we read. Every day we read a new passage together—working our way through books of the Bible, topics that matter, and seasons of the Church calendar. We engage with God's Word and with each other. And we keep coming back, on the hard days and the good days, because God and His Word never change, regardless of our circumstances.
I feel like this book was so needed during these completely uncertain times.
We’ve been in lockdown for a couple of months now and it’s really easy to start feeling lost and alone, given that I haven’t seen my family for over a month now. But this book was the perfect reminder that among God’s promises is the promise that he will be with us always.
At the end of each SRT book, there’s the question “What did I learn?”.
What I learnt from this book is that God makes so many promises. Some have been fulfilled. Some we are still waiting for. But we can have faith that God will keep every promise he makes to us because He is good.
I’m thinking that this book would be a great one to go through with our youth group, what a great way to teach them about how God loves them than to talk about his promises.
I love She Reads Truth studies but this one might be my favorite. The central theme is uplifting and the verses allow readers to experience hope in the most profound way. During the time I was reading this study the world seemed to be a bit darker than usual, so the reminders of God's faithfulness was so comforting and resonated deeply with me.
